A Broken Generation (Musically Speaking)

I have been working at a new job since December and it wasn't hard to notice that many of my co-workers are younger then me...That was never something that would bother me, because I've always felt younger then my age...And acted accordingly as well!  But the gap seems to be getting larger, and some of these kids are just dolts...Some are great, and it gives me a glimmer of hope...But my God the dolts really are trying to drag them down...These dolts are in the 18-25 age group...

This week, I had an encounter with one of these young-ins that I don't consider a dolt...The song "Born in the USA" came on, and she said, 'Can't go wrong with some Kid Rock!"  Shocked, I replied "WHAT!?!"  She said, "Isn't this Kid Rock?"  I had to inform her it was Bruce Springsteen, and recorded before she was born...

A day or so later another co-worker, closer to my age shared a story about one of the young dolts not knowing who Tom Petty was....Asking, "When was he popular?" and "When did he perform?"  I was baffled that those questions had to be answered...While I'm a hug music lover/fan, I've never been a huge Tom Petty fan...But I know who the fuck he is...I know a bunch of his tunes...And there are plenty that I like...Holy crap on a cracker...

But this story didn't end...No fucking way Johnny...It got worse...The dolt then informed my seasoned colleague that "Michael Buble is this generation's Frank Sinatra".........huh?  The fuck you say!?!

Sinatra only had countless hit songs...Starred in 64 movies...Was the co-lead with Marlon Brando in "Guys and Dolls"...He setup JFK with Marilyn Monroe...Buble doesn't have the music or movie resume, and last I checked (for comparisons sake) he hasn't gotten President Obama laid with Scarlett Johansson....

But it's still not over...With mother fucking, honest, straight face, this dope said, "One Direction is this generation's Beatles'....Well doll, then there is no fucking help for your damn generation! Do you have any idea what the Beatles did musically? Do you not understand how they changed the industry...I'll put up just George's demos against the entire auto-tuned One Direction catalog of shit, and I'll win hands down...WTF/OMFG/SMH...You name it...I thought it...Even, FYDB....(Fuck You Die Bitch)...I have heard some dumb shit in my 40 years on this Earth...Without a doubt, comparing One Direction to The Beatles has jumped to the top of the list...That people, is a chokable offense!


I know, not all 18-25 year-olds are dolts...And I know they all aren't so musically retarded...But from what I'm hearing and seeing, there are plenty....

There is hope coming down the road...My oldest daughter, some of her friends, and nieces are all listening to a large variety of music...My daughter for example is into some scream rock/punk/emo shit...But it's based in Rock...But she also likes classic rock...She has a bunch of Beatles and 'Stones songs on her iPhone...She likes some pop-rock stuff...And she's into Twenty One Pilots...(young kids music I was into a couple years before her)...She's a also a heck of a clarinet player with a bit of Jazz under her belt...Thankfully some of us raised our kids right...Hopefully they'll be able to turn the dolts around, or at least educate the dolts kids!


But in case we get some young ones reading this...I'll share a bit of music they should hear, just to get them on track....

There is good music out there...Old and new...Spread it, before the dolts spread too much of their stupidity!

Monday Moaning

It's Monday and the NHL Trade Deadline is fast approaching...and while some teams made minor moves last week, like the CRIPPLE_FOR_A_CRIPPLING_CONTRACT_TRADE,  but I expect some big activity Monday...Although my New York Rangers got started Sunday...Trading defenseman John Moore, very elite prospect, Anthony Duclair and a 1st and 2nd round draft picks to the Coyotes for the defenseman most teams would like to add, Keith Yandle, and defenseman Chris Summers, along with a 4th round draft pick...The Coyotes are also retaining 50% of Yandle's contract which has one more year left on it...

The Rangers then moved Lee Stempniak to Winnipeg for Carl Klingberg...As well as acquiring James Sheppard from San Jose for a 4th round pick...I expect to see San Jose dump a couple more players as it seems they are throwing in the towel on their playoff hopes...Unlike the Rangers who are all in, Cup or Bust...

Other trades that have taken place so far...

Washington added some more grit mixed with skill acquiring Curtis Glencross from Calgary for a 2nd and a 3rd'er...

Chicago landed another very talked about Coyote, Antoine Vermette for defenseman Klas Dahlbeck and a 1st round pick...The Blackhawks also landed Kimmo Timonen from Philly for and 2nd and 4th...

Florida overpaid New Jersey with a 2nd and 3rd for old man Jaromir Jagr...

Pittsburgh added some bulk with Daniel Winnik for a prospect a 2nd and a 4th...

-In other Hockey related news...Many Americans fell in love with watching T.J. Oshie in the Olympics...He plays the game well in all aspects...And he does some other cool stuff...Just watch!





We don't get to see enough of these stories in the sports world...We get far too many stories of domestic abuse, drug use, DUI's, assault, and other idiot shit....Hell, I've heard more about a tape that may exist involving Dez Bryant, in the last week, then I have about athletes doing good deeds in the last 6 months...So is the problem the athletes? the Media? Or our voyeuristic need to catch people doing bad shit?  Probably a combination of them all...

I know in my posts I hit on the negative more then the positive...So I'm going to start looking and searching some of these positive stories...

But that's after I do my Beatles Research...I saw this Sunday night after getting home from work...




I always blew off all the Beatles "Hidden Messages" stuff, but now I figure I'll be up until 3:00 AM digging into all of it...

Monday Moaning

I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July...Ours was good...Had some real good quality time with the kids...Saturday we visited my in-laws...That was rough...My father-in-law, while some things have improved, some things have gotten worse...Like the fact that he didn't know me...He asked my wife who I was...Then in the car, taking them to lunch, he asked if we had met before...I told him yes...He apologized, and I told him not to worry about it...Two minutes later he asked me if we had met before, again...Eventually, he accepted me...He didn't remember me, but he knew I was suppose to be there...It's a rough spot to see him in knowing how sharp he use to be...It was hard on my wife, but I told her, "he remembers you, that's important."  He has no recollection of Molly, but he was going downhill since just before she was born...He never had a chance to make memories with her...it didn't stop her from giving hi big hugs when we left...

It ended up being an exhausting day...Then after we got home, we had to rush the puppy, Finnegan to the pet ER...He got stung by a bee in his paw...It swelled up, and he couldn't put weight on it...And tried biting anyone who tried to look at it...They took care of him quick, and he's doing fine...($124 later)...

You may be feeling what you felt Thursday when I posted THIS ...Just not feeling the Sports right now...I'm watching Baseball, and I'm falling in love, just like last year, with what the Pittsburgh Pirates are doing...They're fun and exciting to watch...

I had thought about writing about the NHL free agency madness...Now I can sit here and read all the idiot contracts given to defensemen who scored 5 goals and 13 assists, and pick apart what were good and bad moves...(most bad)...By I'm interested in that...A lot of people aren't...And it's even kind of boring to write about...

I could get into Brown WR Josh Gordon getting arrested for DUI as he's sitting there with 2 strikes against him from the NFL...But why? To say what we all knew already...He's a fucking idiot...A fucking 4 time loser who is pissing his talent and NFL career away...Maybe it's just me, but I'm just tired of reading and writing about athletes and their egos that have it all, but are just too fucking stupid to control themselves...

I could write about the buzz swirling here in Cleveland about the hopes of LeBron James coming back...But I hate basketball and if you've read my crap over the last 8 years, you know I've always hated the self proclaimed king...Long before "The Decision"...

But there's something that has gotten under my skin this 4th of July weekend...Anthony Cumia of the Opie and Anthony show was fired...Not for anything he said or did on the air...He was fired for exercising he freedom of speech on twitter...

Last week he was snapping pictures in New York city...He got pictures of lights, buildings, a tranny getting arrested, random shit going on in the city late at night...In one was a black women was snapped...Instead of talking to him about it, since it clearly bothered her, she called him a "white mother fucker" and began punching him...She punched repeatedly...He never hit back...He didn't pull his legally carried gun...Instead he tweeted his rage...He called her a "savage", an "animal" and a "cunt face"...He tweeted about the jump right to violence often seen in the black community...(I think its a problem in our entire society)...He tweeted numerous times, and some would be considered racial offensive...But more importantly he was talking honestly, brought on by anger, about a topic that everyone says we need honest discussion about, but whenever it's brought up, it's squashed immediately...

So first, stop saying you want honest discussion about race in this country...Because clearly a large portion of the black community doesn't want to, and a large portion of the white guilt driven media doesn't...

Second, I have listened to O&A for ten years...It's one of the only shows that will talk about ANYTHING honestly...Anthony has been called racist before, and has said racial harsh things before...I would say he's actually said more "offensive" things on the air...But in this country, if you say something that some have deemed "offensive" you automatically called racist, or sexist, or an asshole, or whatever the case may be, instead of your actions or words being taken as you wanting to get to the issue, and possibly get to a resolution...

Third, freedom of speech is dying, and its dying quickly...Everyone is afraid to speak their mind for fear that one weak-minded, low self-esteem having, twat will get upset...Then they'll beat the drum to try and ruin your life for what you said...Radio guys, TV talking heads, actors, they're just the start...Comedians will be next...Oh no a joke hurt some ones feeling...Your career is over!  But just wait...It will start happening at your office or whatever shitty job you and I have...Some dick-bag won't like that joke you made about Jews...You'll go for the quick comeback punch line, 'If you cant take the heat, get out of the oven!'

BOOM....FIRED!

I don't care if you agree with Anthony Cumia or not...Sometimes I don't, sometimes I do...But we should all back him up in his right to speak his mind freely...I don't agree with a lot of awful shit said in this country, by a lot of fucking assholes, but I will always support their right to say their idiot shit...Fuckers are just making me look smarter...


I know kids...The Beeze has been a little salty and not bitching about sports...I'm in a different place right now, and I want this country, and this world to be better place for my kids...Honestly, some days, this is the only thing that keeps me from choking some fuckers out....

Monday Moaning

So much to talk about and so little time...Where should we begin? How about the Cleveland Indians...They've won 7 games in a row...I can hear Robin now...'Holy Shit Batman!' Yes, it's big news here in the Cleve, yet Progressive Field was fucking empty for a 3 game stint with the Red Sox...Maybe people here have finally decided to hold their optimism back a bit...Thank God for that!

Speaking of the Cleve...Last week Charlie Sheen brought is stupid ass, Torpedo of Truth show to town...A couple friend went, one took video of the crowd chanting "7 gram rocks"...Of course Cleveland is the town that would support a serious crack problem...Sheen's show got mixed reviews here, but many of the people that went got hammered and enjoyed it...But as I write this I'm seeing the twitter feed of people who are at the show in New York...Or were at the show...Yes, it seems people in other towns aren't fans of his bullshit...So proud of this town again!

And since I mentioned the Red Sox series in Cleveland...I want to take a shot at the Red Sox front office...This past off-season I was annoyed when the Sox picked up David Ortiz's over-priced contract extension...Then resigned now stiff, aging catcher, Jason Varitek, and let Victor Martinez walk, banking on Jerrod Saltalamacchia to be their #1 catcher...How's that working dummies...Saltalamacchia has 4 hits in 8 games, and is getting really good at throwing balls over second and into the outfield...Dopes!

Since I just talked Indians and Red Sox, how can I not mention Manny Ramirez retiring...Yes, Man-Ram got busted juicing again, and instead of taking a 100 game suspension, and the league lecture about substance abuse program, Manny said the hell with it...People have always hated on Manny...Here, because he left and went to Boston...Everywhere, because he was a dope...He was a dope that was one of the best pure hitters ever...That's why I liked him, and I always defended him...Until he got busted...Then I felt about him, like I do about all the other cheaters...Fuck them all!

Now onto some Notre Dame news...First, the Fighting Irish hockey team took on Minnesota Duluth Thursday night, for a shot to play in the National Championship game...It was good, intense, hard-nosed game, but sadly the Irish lost 4-3...The next game featured Michigan and North Dakota...The Wolverines shutout the Fighting Sioux 2-0 to advance...Saturday night UMD beat Michigan in overtime, to take home their first Hockey National Championship...Congrats to all these teams on a great season...

I know I'm a Hockey Geek, but honestly, if you want to see some really good hockey, next year take in some College Games...These kids really know how to get after it...

In other Notre Dame news, The University announced that they won't be suspending WR Michael Floyd after his latest run-in with the law...He will also not be kept off the Football team...That said, Coach Brian Kelly is not lifting his "Indefinite Suspension" just yet...So while I'm disappointed in the University, I'm happy Kelly is holding firm...But we'll see how long that lasts...

Since I mentioned Hockey, I have to let out my sigh of relief, after seeing the New York Rangers squeaked into the playoffs...And it looks like while the wife and I will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary, the Rangers will be opening up their series with the Washington Capitals...The Rangers have struggled to score, Lundqvist can steal some games...Hell his done it all year...

Welcome to another edition of the Hump Day Hits...Let's start with that Monday Night Football game...Hey Rex Ryan and the JETS...Maybe you should stop shit talking, and do a little practicing, and film study...And when you get your ass kicked as badly as the Patriots kicked yours, you probably shouldn't talk more shit after the game...Seriously, you just ass-raped by Belichik, Brady and the Pats defense that has been pretty weak all year...Shut the fuck up, and go back to the drawing board!

And since I mentioned Tom Brady...I don't want to here about the greatness of Peyton Manning again...Those 15 Interceptions are awesome! And I don't care about the fact that the Colts have had a bunch of injuries, and Manning doesn't have all his boys...Brady has Welker, Tate, Woodhead, Branch, and two rookie Tight Ends...Welker is coming off a blown-out knee, and Branch is a retread...The rest are unproven...So fuck Manning and his one ring...Brady and his three rings is the shit...Oh, and Brady has only thrown 4 picks...

Tuesday, The Washington Redskins decided to suspend Albert Haynesworth without pay, for the rest of the season...What was the reason given? "Conduct detrimental to the club" SHOCKING! (yes that's sarcasm) My question is, What the hell took them so long...This overpaid, ass-hat, and coach Mike Shanahan have been going at since the fat fucker decided not to show up to training camp, after he collected his $21 million bonus check...Seriously, this fuck-stain should have been dealt with months ago!

Hey, who wants to mix in some politics...I know, politics can get people touchy, so of course I'm gonna go there...It's not all tits, ass, and sports with me...

I read today that a number of the Democrats are furious over the tax deal President Obama made with the Republicans...Well guys, maybe you should look in the mirror, because all they've shown in the last two years, is a complete lack of balls to get anything done...Stop blaming everyone else when you're sitting on the sidelines, acting like cunts!

And as for the Republicans Tax cuts...Well my fellow Americans, considering these cuts are going to add a shit-ton to the debt, we are officially China's bitch...Yes, unemployment benefits will be extended, and our taxes won't jump through the roof come January...Which I think we can all agree those are good things right now, with the way things are...But some real solutions for our country's future are needed...The sad thing is, I have no faith in any of these dolts in DC...I have jokingly talked about running for President...Hell, I've told my wife I want to run for city council, or mayor...And sometimes I think I should, but my opinionated, loud mouth, would probably get me shot...

Speaking of getting shot...(WOW this is an awful segue)...Today, December 8th is the 30th anniversary of John Lennon's murder...George Harrison was always my favorite Beatle...I can't stand McCartney...And Ringo is a douche! But there is no denying how much Lennon's music, and how much Lennon the man, touched people...And no matter what anyone says, his death was a great loss to the music world, and to the political consciousness...




Of course all Lennon tributes need to have "Imagine" in them...It's in the handbook...I started checking out all the covers of the song...Holy shit, a lot of people did that one...But me being me, I'll go to my old fall back band, OLP...
