What's Wrong with the New York Rangers?

The short answer to that question in my opinion, a lot!

First problem and most obvious, they aren't scoring. Their Power Play is the worst in the league.

Second, the Rangers had the #1 pick in the draft and they used it on the consensus #1 pick, Alexis Lafreniere. You would think that's a good thing, but people and pundits are often stupid and wrong and don't listen to me enough. I was never sold on the kid. Listen, sometimes there are no-doubt talents, like a Connor McDavid. This kid is no damn Connor McDavid. Personally, with a #1 pick, if there is an elite Center of D-man there, you take that over a winger, they're more valuable. I told my pal SULLY before he past as well as my pal Hotch the Rangers should take Quinton Byfield. 18 year old Center, 6'4" 214 pounds. I told my daughter the same thing when we sat down to watch the draft, as she wanted to see where Erie Otters D-man Jamie Drysdale went.

Byfield may be a year away from the NHL, but the team lacks depth at Center and this kid has elite skills and skating ability to go along with his size. And from the way Lafreniere has played so far, he looks like he's a  year away from the NHL.

Next issue, defensemen. Originally thought to be a position of strength and depth on this roster, not just by us fans, but also the front office as well as NHL pundits, it has shown itself to be lacking depth, and not that fucking good. I hated Marc Staal forever. The Rangers finally get rid of the slow, overrated, overpaid, bum and replace him with slower, overpaid, bum, Jack Johnson. Johnson too was overrated at one time, but people figured that out, except the Rangers I guess. For a defenseman, dude's defense is horrendous! The Rangers also have Overpaid Brendan Smith who's defense is so shitty, they have tried to use him as a winger the last couple times, also showing a lack of depth in their forwards. Smith is playing more than Johnson and actually plays better, but they are both deadweight.

Rangers fans and the front have been hanging our hats on the number of young, talented defenseman in the system. Adam Fox (23) and Ryan Lindgren (23) stepped up last season becoming the teams top pairing. Libor Hajek was the key piece in a trade that sent then captain, Ryan McDonough and JT Miller to Tampa Bay. Hajek was so disappointing last year, he was sent down then loaned to a Czech team. He's back now after injuries and COVID issues, and is doing ok. Then there is 6'5" K'Andre Miller, who has shown flashes of brilliance and his game feels like a left-handed Seth Jones. He's settling in well, but too often is paired with a hack like Smith.

Then we get to Tony DeAngelo. At 25 the Rangers are the 3 organization he's been with. He's been a locker room headache everywhere he has gone, as well as on the ice. He was suspended in both juniors and the NHL for abuse of officials. He was also suspended twice in juniors for violating the Ontario Hockey League's policy for keeping "homophobic, racist and sexist language out of the game."

Along with Fox, the Rangers were excited about having two offensive-minded, puck-moving, right-handed defensemen. But there's a problem. DeAngelo is an asshole and he can't stop himself from being an asshole.  He spent most of the off-season on social media, getting into it with people, including challenging a fan to a fight. He vocally supported Trump, mocked mask wearing, played down COVID, even played the COVID is a "liberal hoax" card and bashed Black Lives Matter. He was a loud supporter of the "Blue Lives Matter" crowd, you know, the same crowd that attacked Capitol Police and killed one of them. So shit probably got uncomfortable as fuck when he was paired with K'Andre Miller. (Miller is black, if you didn't know.)

When Miller scored his first NHL goal, DeAngelo snatched up the puck. This is a customary thing. Another player on the ice grabs the puck and gives it to the equipment guy who marks it and the rookie is presented with it after the game. The Rangers have made a point to share a picture on social media of players showing their milestone puck after the game it happened in. There was no picture of Miller with his puck, and it was a few days before anyone knew where the puck was. It's since been reported that the equipment manger is having it framed for Miller, but where was it that first night? That question along with lots of talk about the team not being happy with how DeAngelo had been treating Miller throughout the season, has had many speculating DeAngelo was holding it back with no one really answering why the traditional photo wasn't done before framing.

Then right after that, DeAngelo and his 2 year, $9.6 million contract were put on waivers and we learned DeAngelo started a post 5-4 OT loss, physical altercation with Goalie Alexander Georgiev. The Rangers had enough. No one claimed DeAngelo with his high price-tag and history of being a locker room cancer. The Rangers have made it clear, he's not coming back and are trying to trade him, but market isn't really strong for racist, pro-Trump, assholes who have been more productive on social media than they are on the ice.

Now, today news broke that Rangers star Artemi Panarin is taking two week leave from the team. Why the hell is the Rangers' best scoring threat taking a leave? Because for two years now, when asked questions about how things are in his home country of Russia, Panarin has spoken out against Putin and last month he showed support on Instagram for Russian opposition leader, Alexei Navalty, who has been poisoned and imprisoned by Putin.

In a 2019 interview, Panarin said, "I think that the people who hush up the problems are more like foreign agents than those who talk about them. If I think about problems, I am coming from a positive place, I want to change something, to have people live better. I don't want to see retirees begging."

What an awful thing to say! How dare he care about people. Fuck Putin!

Sunday, a smear campaign started in Russian newspapers, (where Panarin still has family) including a story from his former KHL coach, Andrei Nazarov, accusing Panarin of beating up a female in 2011 while in Latvia. Then that people were paid off to make it go away. Nazarov has in the past publicly criticized Panarin for his outspoken beliefs about Putin.

No one is saying if there are security concerns for Panarin or if his family back in Russia are taking threats, but based on Putin's history, there is plenty to worry about.

Today the Rangers released this statement:

"Artemi vehemently and unequivocally denies any and all allegations in this fabricated story. This is clearly an intimidation tactic being used against him for being outspoken on recent political events. Artemi is obviously shaken and concerned and will take some time away from the team. The Rangers fully support Artemi and will work with him to identify the source of these unfounded allegations."

Again, I say Fuck Putin!

Farewell to the King

While I have spent waaaaay too much time on social media today, pointing out what a piece of shit Donald Trump is...I have had moments of distraction...Not just keeping up on my kids virtual schooling, but also because my favorite hockey team, the New York Rangers bought out the last year of goaltender, Henrik Lundqvist's contract...

Lundqvist spent his entire 15 year career with the Rangers after he was picked by them in the 7th round of the 2000 draft...In those 15 seasons Hank racked up 459 Wins, 64 Shutouts, a .918 Save Percentage and a 2.43 Goals Against Average...His stats have him in the all-time elite NHL goalies, and he will undoubtedly be a first ballot Hall Of Famer...

He also helped lead Sweden to an Olympic Gold Medal in 2006 and Silver in 2014...

Lundqvist was the heart and soul of the Rangers team during his time their...He fell in love with living in New York city and became the face and spokesperson for The Garden of Dreams Foundation...They work with Madison Square Garden and it's tenants putting on numerous charity events and have a "Make-a-Wish" like program for sick kids...In 2014, Lundqvist and his wife founded the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation...A non-profit organization that focusses on health and education for children and families....The HLF is an international grantmaking organization with  partners in New York City, Sweden and the Dominican Republic....

Henrik loved living and playing in New York and loved being a Ranger...When the team made it clear they were going to start a rebuild and move some pieces out for draft picks a nd prospects, Lunqvist said he wanted to stay and see it through...That's the type of heart and soul of the team guy he is...Now the Rangers have two, young, stellar, Goaltenders as well as young, talented, depth on the blueline and a handful of elite forwards...As well as this years #1 Draft Pick...

I understand the business move and the fact that he is a 38 year old goalie and you have two guys in their 20's ready to go...But I keep looking at this COVID world we are in and the uncertainty of how next season will go and I wonder if carrying three goalies might be good idea...Also, as fan I really wanted to see King Henrik finish his career as a Ranger and get a Cup as a Ranger...

Rangers-town will miss him dearly...

COVID 19 (Blog 3...The NHL)

I love hockey...I love it as much as any of you real hockey fans...Through this whole damn COVID-19 shit it is in the top 3 of things I miss the most...We can get into the other two in future posts...

Like all the sports and entertainment world the NHL has been trying to holdout hope of finishing the season and spit-balling ideas of how to finish the season or jump right into the playoffs or some form of them...Then there was talk of doing the playoffs all in North Dakota...Wonderful arena up there at UND...Throw all the teams into the dorms and hotels I guess...But that has fallen by the wayside...Maybe that's because COVID-19 cases just started to take off in that region...

There has been all kinds of ideas to do playoffs NCAA March Madness tournament style...They have talked about every team going into the playoffs...They have thrown all kinds of ideas out there, changing rules and altering what the season and playoffs traditionally are...I can't stand that kind of shit...

So it came today that the NHL is talking about firing up the rest of the season in July and only playing in 4-5 arenas that are strategically place regionally/conference-wise...

Let me get this straight...Rest of the season, then playoffs starting in July...The way the NHL playoffs go traditionally, The Stanley Cup will be won and within a week or so they will be starting the next season...Which throws free agency into a giant mess...It throws everything out of whack...And if come July things in this country and world are going to be getting back to normal, if only slightly, I don't think a whole lot of people other than diehards like me will be paying attention...

It's time for the NHL to do what the NCAA did...What Junior Hockey did...What high school athletics have done...Just accept it...Take the L. The season is over, there will be no Stanley Cup winner...Make sure everyone is healthy and come back next season and continue being the greatest sport on Earth.

The same goes for the NBA but I don't give a fuck about basketball...

Have drink.
Stay Healthy.

Monday Moaning

This weekend I did something I haven't done in a very long time...I spent some time alone and watched some NFL football....Guess what I learned...

I'll never do that again....All my feelings I've had over the last few years were confirmed...The NFL has become a bad product...The players, the majority that is, are fucking scumbags...The coaches are in over their heads...They can't control their overpaid children...And the fans are still fucking idiots...Be it the fucking assholes in Cincy throwing stuff at the field and Ben Rapistbuerger  and cheering his injury....Or the countless fuck-sticks in Minnesota shitting on Blair Walsh over his missed field goal...Did you see the steady stream Vines and Instagram videos, of fans going out in the cold and kicking a field goal, and then yelling at Walsh?

Hey cunts, life is a lot easier when you don't have a defense in front of you, and don't have 70,000 screaming fans around you....Oh, and it's also easier when you can hit delete and retry your kick you just missed...

Shit, let me stay on these Vikings cunts....You fucking assholes trashing the kicker, and holder...SHUT THE FUCK UP!  If your cunty team would have scored touchdowns instead of field goals all day, you would have won...If your cunty, child beating, self-proclaimed "greatest running back in the league" would have picked up more then 45 yards on the ground, and wouldn't have fumbled at a key point in the game, you would have won...Stop blaming the Special Teams when there is plenty of blame for your whole fucking team!

Hey Kansas City, thank you for exposing another thing I knew to be true...JJ Watt is overrated....(this is the point when some fuck-stick tells me how many sacks Watt has each year)...Yeah...Awesome...He's a one fucking dimensional cunt who loves playing for the cameras and forgot he needs to play against the run...The Chiefs made Watt look stupid and confused, running right past him...Some plays unblocked...His mind is always at going for a sack and isn't reading to stop the run nearly enough...

Hey Watt, go have a Subway and Gatorade...Mug it up real good...Pretend that you stay 8 hours after practice on Hard Knocks working by yourself...Smile at Erin Andrews and make her wet...And get the fuck out of here, just like half your coaching staff that got fired today! CUNT!

(Seems to be a reoccurring word today)....

Pittsburgh and Cincinnati....Two fucking teams I will never like...Two teams with more hate-able players then like-able....Two teams with coaches that seem like genuinely good guys...But they can't control the criminal elements on their teams...I had missed the first half of this game...The wife and I were out to eat and enjoying some us time...But then I got into this later stages of this game...

Many talking heads felt the refs were doing a good job of letting them play and not letting the bullshit get out of hand...Those people are wrong...The refs should have set the tone early if they didn't want any bullshit...Instead the slow boil began to rage late in the 4th quarter...

Listen Cincy fans, I get it...Porter is a piece of shit, antagonist, and as a "coach" shouldn't have been out on the field...But your guy, Pac-Man Jones pushed a ref...Right there, end  of discussion...If you don't think he deserves a flag, you are retarded...Then he cried on the sidelines realizing he had a big hand in losing this game for his team...Then he made a Vine video screaming about how the refs sucked and fucked them...Not wining any points at all Pac-Man...All this stemmed from Vontaze Burfict being called for a head shot on Antonio Brown....

Then, today hePac-Man was on the Rich Eisen Show saying that Brown was faking, and that's why he was so mad....Really...He faked getting hit in the head...Sorry you stupid fucking cunt, there's no faking that...

A sinkhole opening up under that stadium and swallowing up everyone there would have been the best solution....

I'm still amazed guys like Jones and Burfict are still in the league, since the Goodell was going to be Mr. Law & Order...Oh yeah, that's right...He's a pussy when it comes to serious stuff....

I hate what the NFL has become...I am, officially, 100% done...My hope for the rest of the playoffs is that New England and Seattle meet again in the "Super Bowl" since those are two teams most people seem to hate...I hope the Patriots win...I hope Brady in the MVP...And when they stick the mic in his face I hope he tells Goodell to 'Eat my ass!'

-

You know what is a great sport?  Hockey...You know who made an awful trade last year...My New York Rangers, they traded top prospect Anthony Duclair for overrated D-man Keith Yandle....Look at this move Duclair pulled off this weekend...

That was sick....Kid made everyone look bad...Especially the Rangers!

There was also a big trade in Columbus...Sadly, I saw this coming back in OCTOBER ....Since the arrival of John Tortorella, rising 'Jackets star (C) Ryan Johansen has become a lump of shit...Bad turnovers...piss poor defensive play...all around, totally sucking...This, a year after a long, drawn-out, contract negotiation, that got him paid handsomely...The 'Jackets sent him to Nashville for rising star (D) Seth Jones...Nashville has tons of talent on the blueline and need a #1 Center which Johansen should be...Jones looks like he will be a top pair defenseman...this looks like it may be one of those win-win deals for both teams...

Sadly for Columbus, After the season Johansen had last year, they could have gotten a bigger haul if they moved him in the off-season...But I guess you never know when a guy is going to start acting like a lazy, cunty, piece of shit...

That's it for now...

Have a week!

Blue Jackets Changing on the Fly

After starting this season 0-7-0 the upper management of the Columbus Blue Jackets felt a change, a drastic change was needed...So this morning, after getting smoked by the New York Islanders last night, the 'Jackets fired head coach Todd Richards and hired John Tortorella...Torts contract is for this season and the next two, which is the same amount of time that was left on his contract with Vancouver...and Vancouver is paying "some of it"....Columbus had to send a third round draft pick to the Canucks

After a season full of injury on top of injury...The Blue Jackets scratched and clawed late last season to be a thorn in the rest of the NHL's side...When the season was over, Richards' job seemed secure and the 'Jackets were on everyone's list of teams to watch this season...That thought was bolstered by the off-season trade for Brandon Saad, and signings of a couple role players...

Well, if you have watched them, you have seen that they aren't very watchable...The numbers of mistakes made by their defense is horrifying...A team with high expectations starting 0-7 is no good, and a move of some sort seems to be demanded by either the media, the fans, or both...Richards ended last season getting high praise form both...Now he has been shown the door...How quickly things can change....

Tortorella, well known for being a pain in the ass to his players, has a 444-371-115 record as a head coach...And a Stanley Cup ring from his time as the Lighting head coach when they won it all in 2004...When Torts time ended with the New York Rangers being hated by his players, who made it clear they were happy he was gone...His tactics that worked when they were young kids coming up, had grown tired...

In Vancouver, Tortorella didn't have the players to play his style...And they didn't seem to willing to buy in to his temper and tactics...When the coach leaves the dressing room to go after the opposing coach in his team's dressing room, it says a lot about your team and/or a lot about how they feel about you, when they don't follow you in...

In Columbus, there are a number of young players, especially on the blueline, that could use a Tortorella kick in the ass...There are also guys like Brandon Dubinsky...

Dubinsky played for Torts in New York...He became the player he is because of Torts...Playing Tortorella hockey killed some of his offensive numbers, but he plays every other aspect of the game very well...He's a Tortorella guy...I just wonder if he wants to deal with it again...

Nick Foligno can play Torts hockey...He seems to fit  the mold...Saad can play it too...Christ, just walking in the door to Columbus killed his offensive numbers, so what the hell...Guys like Calvert and Atkinson, and Campbell will fit well into his system...

The guy who will have the most trouble with this move is rising superstar center, Ryan Johansen....

Johansen has all the skills...All the talent...He can play two-way hockey...But players like him often get caught in a tight spot with Tortorella...They are expected to play tight defense, physical, and then knowing their skills, Torts piles the bulk of the offensive pressure/load, on them...

I think Tortorella will help Columbus, but he may have to pull back on the asshole level slightly...His teams play D...This team has played no D so far...The 'Jackets will turnaround...I just don't know for how long...

Rangers Re-sign Stepan

Just hours before they were set to have their arbitration hearing, the New York Rangers and restricted free-agent center, Derek Stepan agreed on terms of a 6 year deal...$39 million for six years...$6.5 million...Not a bad agreement since Stepan (25) was heading into the arbitration looking for $7.25 million yearly, and the Rangers were offering $5.2 million...

Besides being a key member to the Rangers lineup, it was the ridiculous contract that Buffalo gave Ryan O'Reilly, that was forcing this to arbitration if the Rangers didn't pay up...Stepan is a solid two-way center, who has better numbers the O'Reilly...

More info backing up this signing...Stepan is the first New York Rangers' to put up 50 or more points in 3 consecutive seasons, since Wayne Gretzky...

This past season Stepan finished 5th or higher in all of the following team stats...Assists, Points, Game-Winning Goals, Plus/Minus rating, Shots on Goal, Power Play Goals, Power Play Assists, Power Play Points, Short-handed Goals, Short-handed Assists, and Short-handed Points...

The only other player to do that was Chicago's Jonathan Toews...

Stepan is a key piece for this team to continue doing what they've been doing...But they have hardly any room under the cap now...I would like to see them move defenseman Dan Boyle, but I'm not sure anyone wants that old man and his contract...An easier contract to move would be defenseman, Kevin Klein who just had his best season of his career, and is cap hit just under $3 million...

Rangers fans are happy we got Stepan locked up, along with other key restricted free agents, JT Miller, Jesper Fast, and Emerson Etem...But a bit of cap wiggle room will help too.

Monday Moaning

Yep, more Hockey talk...Last week I posted THIS about NHL'ers and the Prime of their careers...That mixed with all THIS free agency and trade news, mixed with an idiot on Sirius XM's NHL Radio has inspired this Monday's post...

The Idiot is Michelle Sturino...And just when I didn't think her god-awful voice couldn't get more annoying, it did! I'm a big fan of NHL Radio, and most of teh hard "O" and "eh" shit doesn't bother me...And actually most of the guys there are professionals, and don't do too much of that shit...But Sturino in her TOrOntO studio is awful...The voice is nauseating...But it's stupidity and horrible topics are just as bad...

Sturino and some fill-in guy were talking Sunday afternoon, and the topic of all the free agents signings was up front, along with the Kessel and Oshie trades...Then they brought up the Brandon Saad trade...Little was said about the trade...Instead they were focused on the contract Saad signed with the Bluejackets after being traded there...

Rumblings came out that Saad, (at the time a restricted free agent) was offered 5 years at an average of $5 million a year, and it was turned down...Saad signed with Columbus for 6 years $36 million....

So Sturino started whining, "How much money is enough? What's more important, winning or money?" She was appalled that Saad would be willing to be moved out of the winning climate of Chicago for money...

Now I think all pro athletes are overpaid, (not talking about players in the minors [baseball and hockey]) but the market is what it is...So...

Hey dummy Sturino, Saad won two Stanley Cups making low money, why the fuck shouldn't he get paid? He's won, and he got moved to an emerging team...Besides that, he just a had a huge playoff performance that showed everyone in the hockey world, that he's just starting to hit his prime at 22 years old...

He's fast, strong, plays physical, plays excellent defense, and has plenty of offensive potential...He plays on the PK and PP...He's the type of player every team wants...Why the hell shouldn't he cash in....But besides that, this is Hockey...His career can end his next shift...Especially based on the way he plays...This isn't tiddlywinks...This is Hockey...If things go bad, this 6 year contract could be his last...These players need to think about the future too, not just winning...

Then this idiot Sturino was whining again..."What happened to the bridge contract? Why is no one doing bridge contracts anymore?"

A Bridge contract is a cheap 1-3 year deals to let players "prove" themselves...When an entry-level contract expires, players generally only have a few years of NHL experience and can be hard to evaluate....The bridge contract allows teams to evaluate their talent with a bigger sample size...

Hey, idiot Derek Stepan's last contract was a bridge contract, because the Rangers overpaid to get Brad Richards, and overpaid Marc Staal and Dan Girardi...So they pushed Stepan towards a bridge deal...Now he has them over a barrel because he's earned what the market says will be a $6-7 million per year deal...T.J. Oshie did a bridge deal before he signed his 5 year deal that averages over $4 million a season...

Teams and players do bridge deals...They aren't there for a guy to take a home town discount, they are there for teams to evaluate talent, and players to out-play their existing contract, and earn more money...

I'm not sure who hire Michelle Sturino, but they should be fired...Please, don't let just any TOrOntO dolt talk hockey because they say OH-ffense...Thay shold have  afucking clue too...Stupid stammering, stuttering, bitch!

-Now for something on the lighter side...In the past I posted a video of T.J. Oshie doing some fine charity working and making kids happy...Well, when he was traded this week to Washington, it broke a 5 year old girls heart...And Oshie, with some help from ESPN did his best to try to make her smile...

That's it for now...

Have a week.

Monday Moaning

Yep, I could use a nice cold beer!  First off, I had a few things earlier this week to say about something that happened to my son...This LINK will take you to the second of two posts, it also contains a link to the first post...

So yeah, after that I wanted a drink or two...Then the New York Rangers went and lost game 7 to the Tampa Bay Lightning...I was having fears all throughout this series...The Rangers have been known for their speed and team defense...Problem 1...They play defense first...If they get a lead they just play all defense, and will only take a offensive chance if it come from a defensive breakdown from their opponent...Problem 2...The Lighting had the speed to match (if not better then) the Rangers...

There was a lot of complaining about the play of Rick Nash, which drives me crazy...He plays the system that he is in, and his defensive play was exceptional...And in 7 games against Tampa Bay, he had 7 points...That's not horrible people...What was horrible was the play of Martin St. Louis...From the moment the trade of Ryan Callahan for St. Louis was discussed, I hated it...Trading your captain for a guy 9 years older...It was ridiculous...And it showed...St. Louis looked nervous and uncomfortable whenever he had the puck on his stick...He was noticeably slower...Not good when you've made your name being one of the faster guys on the ice...His play was horrible...Callahan meanwhile played his normal gritty fashion just days after having his appendix removed...

Big Money defenseman, Keith Yandle, brought in at the trade deadline sucked...His defense was bad, and the offense he was suppose to bring, he must have left in Phoenix...He played his best game defensively in game 7, having to pick up the slack, as shutdown defenseman, Ryan McDonagh saw less ice-time because he had been playing the last few games with a broken foot...

There were some complaining that the injury of Mats Zuccarello in the Washington series had amajor impact on the team...Listen, I love how Zuccarello plays...He's a small, fast, feisty, gritty player, who has come into his own the last couple years...But if losing him is going to kill your Championship hopes, then you have bigger problem...The Rangers decided to let Defensman Anton Stralman walk after last year, and he walked right into Tampa Bay, and had great season, and his defensive play against his old mates was outstanding...The Rangers have been dead-set on keeping D-men Marc Staal and Dan Girardi, and Stralman's play proved they made the wrong call....The Rangers have grossly overrated Staal for years...And Girardi just looked tired through this series.

While I bash my team, I have to give proper credit to the Lighting...They played excellent hockey...They have a great eye for talent as Ondrej Palat who was a force, was drafted 208th overall in 2011, and line mate Tyler Johnson was an undrafted free-agent...So far in the playoffs, Johnson has 12 goals and 9 assists in 20 games...Kid is killing it...

Thankfully, Saturday night the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Anaheim Ducks...It's bad enough a city like Tampa Bay is in the Stanley Cup Finals, but if it was a California versus Florida Final, that would just be sacrilegious!

As for the Finals, I think Chicago is a better team...More talent with the likes of  Toews, (best captain in the game) Kane, (insane talent and skills) Keith and Seabrook, (defensive studs and minute eaters) Hossa, Sharp, Saad, Bickell, Vermette, and more...I think Lighting Goalie Ben Bishop is better then Cory Crawford, but Crawford has been there before, and has a Cup under his belt...Chicago have been also been playing with pretty much 4 defensemen...That could bite them in ass if they can't feel comfortable mixing a couple other guys in there...Tampa Bay on the other hand seems to keep their legs fresh, dressing 7 defensemen...I think it will be close, but I'm going with Chicago.

-So, now that I got that hockey stuff out of the way, I'll move back into some personal stuff...About a month ago I took a chance on a new job offer...It was a "mom & pop" Italian place...The offer was good, and the plans and goals the husband laid out in front of me were very exciting...I had very high hopes for this career move...When I got in there I was saddened to find out they were using premade, frozen meatballs...Premade, frozen gnocchi, raviolis, tortellini, no in house made pasta...There were a number of little frustrating things, including I was training a new staff, without even knowing all I needed to know...Like how to make the house Red Sauce (which was actually homemade and delicious)...There was no recipes and no one showing me anything...I received a number of compliments on the food from the staff and guests as I was just winging it (doing it my way)...The couple of staff members who weren't new were telling me, "it's gonna get better, you're gonna make it better."  That's a nice thing to hear, yet slightly alarming...

After some time, I felt the need to discuss changing stuff like the frozen shit, and writing out recipes with the wife...She ran the actual restaurant, and these were things her husband and I discussed...The talk didn't go well...Her saying "You better think about the choice you made." I left frustrated and upset...I called the husband, and he was not receptive to me, saying he "wasn't going to choose between me and his wife." I wasn't looking for  a choice, just for them to get on the same page, and then we can work it out from there...

I got home and a was a wreck...Added to this, just days before we found out my Mother has Stage 4 Cancer...My wife and I talked for a while...We decided I would quit...My Mother was our primary sitter...She watched Molls every day that we were both working...Picked up the kids from school on those days...Got them started on homework, and has a major part of all of our lives...She was starting Chemo right away, and putting Molls in Daycare for a fuck-ton of a money didn't seem worth it...

I had felt like I had missed out on the last year to year and half of the older two kids lives...I had felt like a shitty father...So, for right now I'm Mr. Mom...(but looking to pick up some part-time hours)...Cooking, doing the dishes and laundry, taking care of stuff with the kids, and getting to a park with the kids as much as possible...I've a had a great time with Molls, and she's come back a bit to being Daddy's little girl...I feel like my son and I are reconnecting...My oldest is 13, she likes me and helps, but she's a bit bot crazy right now...But I'm happier then ever, and working on becoming the best wife I can be...(yeah, my wife and I joke and call me the wife...I like to cuddle after sex too!)

It's been a crazy, rocky few months...I'm terrified about what's going on with my Mom, but for everything else, I feel positive that things are going to work out alright...Hopefully her health will too...

For all the things that have been going wrong, I'll close with this....

Have a week!

It's Memorial Day and I honestly don't feel much like writing...I spent Sunday with Little Beeze and myself both sick...He's really feeling shitty...just wrecked...I could trudge but I was finding myself on the shitter way too often...It was a real bummer because I spent some time Saturday whipping up and awesome slaw for a party friends were having Sunday...We were really looking forward to it, but then the boy got sick...There was talk of our oldest staying with him while we went briefly, she was feeling lazy after having a couple friends sleep over Saturday night, and of course they were up all night...But then my issues started, and the day was kicked in the head....

Yes, spare me the lecture that Memorial day isn't about cookouts and parties...I know, I actually read history books...Nonetheless it is a time when we happen to make time to see people we maybe haven't for awhile, so take a breath...We're hoping the boy will be up for going to the Parade Monday morning in our neighborhood...molls is very excited...

The big news in Cleveland, beside the Cavs, which I have yet to catch that fever, and don't plan on getting it...but the other news broke Saturday morning when the verdict on Officer Brelo came down...What a judge...Dropping the verdict on a Saturday morning, during a holiday weekend...Stellar move if you ask me...People are moving slow Saturday morning...So their protesting game took a hit...Brelo was on trial for shooting and killing too people who had lead police on a 22 mile high speed chase, and then had rammed a police car...There were over a hundred bullets fired, by a bunch of cops, but this poor bastard was the guy thrown on the grenade...Well, he got off...And the judge went into great length and detail explaining why... Here is a LINK to the entire transcript of the judge's decision....

Personally, here's my view...Mistakes were made...It's easy to say that after the fact...And when a bunch of cops put over 100 bullets in the car, why was one guy taking all the heat? But in my opinion, the most important part of this whole thing is, things wouldn't have gone so badly, and two people wouldn't have died, if these two dolts just would have pulled over...As I heard the two dozen protesters yelling "Hands up don't shoot!" I got really frustrated...These two didn't have their hands up, they were fleeing the police, and then rammed a police car...Then I saw the same phrase hash-tagged all over twitter, so I started tweeting comments ending with #PulloverDontRun...

The local media was very proud of how peaceful Cleveland was, but there were 71 arrests as the day moved into the night and people started acting dumb....They didn't bother to show this...

Yep, people were out enjoying the nice weather, having some dinner, and "protesters" started getting physical, throwing stuff, and spraying random people with pepper spray....Again I'll say it...People will not sympathize with your cause when you act like an asshole...Speak your mind...Have rallies...Protest...Go for it...But when you stop being peaceful, you lost all ground.

-As for sports, the New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning series has been driving me crazy...While Lundqvist is the better goalie, the Lightning look to be the better team...Better speed, better passing, better scoring chances...The Rangers are a defense first team, and when they have the lead, they lay back and play only defense. (except in game 4)...But their defense has been picked apart by great passing and speed in this series...Tampa Bay keeps their foot on the gas the entire game...they play good defense, but they never stop looking for a chance at more offense...The Lightning are up 3-2, and I'm losing the hope I had after game 4...The Rangers were so flat in the third period, I put on M*A*S*H* the movie...Such a great, classic!

I hated when the Rangers traded for old man Martin St. Louis...I hated when they signed even older man Dan Boyle...(you can look up the old blogs and tweets)...And I wasn't please when they traded their first round pick, and top prospect Arizona for Keith Yandle...Everyone said Yandle would be the perfect QB for the power play...He doesn't even play on the top power play unit now...His Defense sucks and his offense is weak...Yeah, he got a goal the other night...The shot was going 6 feet wide, when it hit a Tampa Bay defenseman's leg and deflected in...Dude blows!

-Anyways...I feel like crap...I'm going to lay down...Have a good Memorial Day...Have fun...and if at some point you forget what the day is about, sit in front of the TV and put on "Band of Brothers" or "The Pacific" or "Hamburger Hill" and then maybe it will come back to you,  just how lucky we are to live in a country where people (right or wrong) can protest, and the brave few are why.

Have a week.

Monday Moaning

Ole #12 looks pretty good now!

So I don't if you heard, but Tom Brady has been in the news quite a bit lately...Something about deflated balls...yes, it's been covered constantly, by all sports outlets, all bloggers, everything...So, should I write about it...NO! But fuck, I really think my opinions on this bullshit needs to get out there...

1. Stop saying "Deflate-gate"...I am sick of having to write about how idiotic the world has become by attaching "gate" to ever little incident, every major incident, and every other bit of nonsense that gets some one upset...

2. Stop saying Deflate, or deflated balls...They weren't deflated...The air pressure was decreased...they weren't squishy...They weren't flat...They weren't like Brady was out there chucking around a Nerf ball...

3. Did the NFL really need take 4 months, 250 pages, and $5 million to find out if some balls didn't have enough air pressure in them...

4. Does the NFL, or you, or anyone else really think that when the NFL gives teams balls 2 weeks in advance that the QB's don't manipulate them in some ways that make them comfortable for that individual QB? Why give them balls at all...How about the officials just bring the balls on game day, and everyone uses the same fucking ball?

5. Do you really thing that Brady is the only QB that likes his footballs a certain way? You're fucking nuts, stupid, or high if you do.

6. WHO FUCKING CARES!?!  Why is this such a big deal? People are wondering how long has Brady been doing this? Who cares...You know his team has lost a couple Super Bowls as well...

7. Can we talk about cry-baby, bitch, drunk driving Colts Owner Jim Irsay...this cunt sits on the NFL rules committee, and every time he cries because his team can't win, we get an investigation and/or rule change...His team lost 45-7...looks to me that Brady could have worked the Colts over that day with a beach ball...Cunts!

And lets not forget that awhile back when the Pats D was shutting down the Colts, and Manning, Irsay complained and bitched about contact in the secondary...Shortly later, DB's were no longer allowed to make contact, just run next to receivers like a shadow, let them catch the ball and gently tackle them...Boom, Manning started squashing Marino's records and finally won a Super Bowl...

Seriously folks...Every NFL team, player, and coach are trying to get an edge...Anyway they can, they'll do it...But Belichick isn't a likeable guy...And Tom Brady was a 6 round pick, that everyone else blew off, and boom, fucking worked his ass off, and wins...knocked up a hot actress, and then married a supermodel and knocked her up....He has multiple house including one with a moat...All he does is win, and people love to hate winners...

If the NFL really wants to suspend/fine Brady because of a couple equipment guys snarky texts, hey go ahead...I already turned my back on this bullshit league last year...the Commish acts too late, and too soft on the big stuff, then turns around and comes down too hard on the little shit...Well, if he wants to ding the Patriots/Brady for under-inflated footballs, they better start get the magnifying glass out for all the little ticky-tacky bullshit...

-Enough of that bullshit!

My New York Rangers battled back to force a game 7 with the Washington Capitals...Eventually Holtby had to look human, as his goaltending has been outstanding...My biggest problem with this Rangers team, is when they get a lead, they don't keep their foot on the gas...They don't go for the kill shot...They hang back and play shutdown defense...It has gotten them in trouble against this hungry Washington team...And Holtby has been just as solid as Lundqvist between the pipes...Game 7 should be intense...This Caps team worries me more then any other team in the East...In the West, Chicago is clearly the team to beat...So much talent...

Playoff  Hockey is great people...Watch it!

That's it for now gabbers...But I'll have some more to write this week...Stay tuned...Now go play with your balls...

Monday Moaning

It's Monday and the NHL Trade Deadline is fast approaching...and while some teams made minor moves last week, like the CRIPPLE_FOR_A_CRIPPLING_CONTRACT_TRADE,  but I expect some big activity Monday...Although my New York Rangers got started Sunday...Trading defenseman John Moore, very elite prospect, Anthony Duclair and a 1st and 2nd round draft picks to the Coyotes for the defenseman most teams would like to add, Keith Yandle, and defenseman Chris Summers, along with a 4th round draft pick...The Coyotes are also retaining 50% of Yandle's contract which has one more year left on it...

The Rangers then moved Lee Stempniak to Winnipeg for Carl Klingberg...As well as acquiring James Sheppard from San Jose for a 4th round pick...I expect to see San Jose dump a couple more players as it seems they are throwing in the towel on their playoff hopes...Unlike the Rangers who are all in, Cup or Bust...

Other trades that have taken place so far...

Washington added some more grit mixed with skill acquiring Curtis Glencross from Calgary for a 2nd and a 3rd'er...

Chicago landed another very talked about Coyote, Antoine Vermette for defenseman Klas Dahlbeck and a 1st round pick...The Blackhawks also landed Kimmo Timonen from Philly for and 2nd and 4th...

Florida overpaid New Jersey with a 2nd and 3rd for old man Jaromir Jagr...

Pittsburgh added some bulk with Daniel Winnik for a prospect a 2nd and a 4th...

-In other Hockey related news...Many Americans fell in love with watching T.J. Oshie in the Olympics...He plays the game well in all aspects...And he does some other cool stuff...Just watch!

We don't get to see enough of these stories in the sports world...We get far too many stories of domestic abuse, drug use, DUI's, assault, and other idiot shit....Hell, I've heard more about a tape that may exist involving Dez Bryant, in the last week, then I have about athletes doing good deeds in the last 6 months...So is the problem the athletes? the Media? Or our voyeuristic need to catch people doing bad shit?  Probably a combination of them all...

I know in my posts I hit on the negative more then the positive...So I'm going to start looking and searching some of these positive stories...

But that's after I do my Beatles Research...I saw this Sunday night after getting home from work...

I always blew off all the Beatles "Hidden Messages" stuff, but now I figure I'll be up until 3:00 AM digging into all of it...

That's it for now...

Have a week...

Monday Moaning

The Rangers lost the Stanley Cup Finals Friday night...There's only one real way to get over it...Yep, sexy women and drinking!

Now I haven't been full of confidence in this team all year, but when they've gone this far, it's hard to not buy into what they've been doing...They got to the finals for god's sake...They must have done something right...Well shit, they do have one of the best goalies in the world...He alone will steal you some games...But it was clear, against the Kings the Rangers would need more...As I pointed out last week...The lack of production from Rick Nash was a killer, and if they were going to come back, they needed him to start lighting the lamp...Well, it didn't happen...

That right there really sums up "the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat."

Lundqvist made 48 saves in Friday's double OT game 5...I'm not sure what else they guy could have done...The winning goal, he had no chance at, and still was close to getting it...Rewatching the play, the winger racing back, along with the two defensemen all went towards the shooter breaking in...Lundqvist made the save and the rebound went off to his right...Right onto the stick of the wide open defensemen Martinez...Martinez who also got the game 7, winning OT goal against Chicago in the conference finals...Nice playoff for him...

Lundqvist has always been an intense competitor, but I've never seen him look the way he did after this defeat....

It took some time before he got out of his pads...

My hope is that the Rangers who will stay in New York with Lundqvist, will remember tis feeling, and use it to drive them next year...

That said...Now is the part were I call some players out...As I mentioned, I took care of Nash last week...First...The three guys wearing "A" on their chests...Since trading Callahan no one has worn the "C"...

1. Brad Richards with his grossly high priced contract...Last year he sucked so bad in the playoffs Torts put him on the 4th line, and then scratched him for a couple games...That couldn't happen again right...Wrong...new coach Alain Vigneault put Richards on the 4th line during the Finals...Richards had 1 assist in the Finals...That's it...Big-money playmaker, one assist...Luckily, reports are now out that the Rangers will use their buyout and unload Richards after 3 disappointing seasons...

2. Marc Staal...At least 1000 of my tweets are bitching about how much Marc Staal sucks and is overpaid...Staal is suppose to be a top-notch defensive defenseman...BULLSHIT! He often looks slow...Often gets caught out of position...Often is too weak with his passes, or clearing attempts, leading to turnovers...I would be thrilled if the Rangers could trade this overrated prick...Please Carolina, try to reunite all the overrated Staal brothers!

3. Dan Girardi...This one hurts because I like Girardi...And when he shit the bed in game one and coughed up the puck in his own end, leading to a Justin Williams OT winning goal, I was pissed, but it's rare that he fucks up like that...But as I watched more, I noticed he was not playing like himself...His passes started looking like Staal's...He was getting physically manhandled...Not what you want to see from your defensive stalwart...I'm honestly expecting to hear about an injury with Girardi soon...His whole game looked off, and I wouldn't be surprised if an injury was the root of that...

So he's getting a bit of a pass, for now...But the other two can eat my ass...

The Rangers leading scorer  in the playoffs was defenseman Ryan McDonagh...While I'm glad the kid had a great run, that says something about your teams offense....But there are positives...Along with McDonagh, the Rangers showed there is a core of young, scrappy, talented players...Krieder, Stepan, Hagelin, Brassard, Zuccarello, all played well, and consistently through the playoffs, and all ahead of Richards and Nash in scoring...

The Rangers have some good talented players in the minors...Getting a few of them in the mix next year could add speed and grit...Two thing LA showed they had more of...LA rolled four strong lines...All had speed...All had at least one guy who will do the dirty work...They also rolled 6 strong blueliners...Not many teams can say that...

The fact of the matter is, The Rangers getting to the Finals was a helluva feat...But whatever team they were going to face was gonna be a bitch for them...Right now, the west is a better conference...LA, Chicago, Minnesota, St. Louis, San Jose, Anaheim, are all strong...Colorado is on a big upswing...Dallas is showing signs of life...The East has the Rangers, The Bruins, Montreal...The Penguins get hype but have show a knack of blowing up in the playoffs...Philly can't find a goalie worth a shit...Detroit is a mix of old and young, and was hammered with injuries...

The only team in the East that could hang with LA and Chicago this year would have been a healthy Boston team...And they weren't close to healthy come the playoffs...

Enough hockey...It's making want to drink more...

I hope all you dads out there enjoyed your Father's Day...Doing what I do...I had to work...So this is how I celebrated...

Have a week...

The Curious Case of Rick Nash

Rick Nash walked into the NHL as a first overall pick, and a superstar...He instantly became the face of the Columbus Bluejackets and a fan favorite...For most of his time there, he was the only bright spot on a struggling expansion franchise...He was a prolific goal scorer...A great passer...While not the fastest skater, his skating ability and strength overmatched many...And his stickhandling was amazing....He was a Rocket Richard Trophy winner, and an All-Star Game MVP...He also holds two Olympic Gold medals...One of those, working on the third line, and filling the role superbly...Often having the announcers talk about him being one of the best players on the ice, even though he wasn't on a scoring line...

In his first couple years, league tough guys tested the young, big, strong Nash...He held his own, to the point were he didn't get tested to drop the gloves much more...And playing under a coach like Ken Hitchcock, Nash improved his defensive game, stick checking, blocking shots, and becoming a quality penalty killer...He had become an elite, all-around power forward...

Then in 2012, a year after signing a long-term contract extension with Columbus, rumors started swirling about what moves the Jackets would need to make to get competitive...Nash's name started coming up...Nash never asked for a trade...Nash never demanded to go to a certain team...He was a team guy, and loyal to Columbus...He went to the brass and told them, "if trading me is the best thing for the organization's future, get the best deal you can."

Nash was traded to the New York Rangers along with a 3rd round pick and a minor league defenseman...The Rangers gave up fan favorite, Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov, top prospect, Tim Erixon, and a first round pick...Dubinsky and Anisimov were two players under contract for a few years, who would fill immediate holes...Erixon was a year or two away...And it freed up the money going to Nash for the next 8 years...It was a good move for Columbus, even though fans didn't want to see their star go...

As a Rangers fan and a Nash fan...I was thrilled...This would bring a surge to the Rangers offense, and he was able to play their defensive style as well....In New York, Nash hasn't always looked comfortable...His offensive production had become very streaky...Then he took a series of concussions...Late in the 2013 season he was knocked out with a concussion which hindered the Rangers playoff run...Then at the start of this season, Nash took another hit to the head...An illegal shot to his head, then bashing his head into the boards...This lead to Nash doing something we rarely see in sports...Nash spoke out against the union for not working with the NHL to take these hits out of the game...He called out all players for a lack of respect for each other and their livelihood...

He came back, and was streaky...But the most noticeable thing was that his drive didn't seem there...The aggressiveness in his game is gone...In so many of those highlights you see him get to another gear...He's taking the game to another level...He's putting everyone on his back, and beating two d-men and a goalie on his own...Now he's not driving to the net...He's not getting in front and mixing it up, and waiting for a rebound to roof over the goalies shoulder...

What has happened to Nash? Have the concussions taken the edge away?  Has fear of another taken it away?  Has playing in New York shaken his confidence, going from big fish in a small pound, to little fish in the big apple?  He has never looked very comfortable in New York...Has a combination of things changed his game?

In this year's playoffs, Nash is at the top of the board with shots on goal...But he's not putting them in...The Rangers are down 2 games to none to the LA Kings in the Stanley Cup Finals....This is the moment that Rick Nash has waited for, languishing in Columbus for so long...This is the moment where Nash needs to put the team on his back...The playmaking goal scorer needs to return...

The Rangers have squeaked through the playoffs on the back of Henrik Lundqvist's great goaltending, and some timely goals coming from seemingly everyone but Nash...But I don't see them getting past this Kings team without a standout performance that superstar players are made for...Blueshirt fans everywhere are calling Rick Nash...We need you to come back if the Rangers are going to win this thing.

Oh yeah....Eye candy...

Have a week...

Twenty Years

Twenty years sounds like a long time ago.....Yet it went by in a flash...Twenty years ago Forrest Gump came out...Along with Ace Ventura, Reality Bites, Dumb & Dumber, Pulp Fiction, and The Santa Clause...

Portishead's album Dummy came out 20 years ago...So did Weezer, by Weezer, Dookie by Green Day, Under the Table and Dreaming by DMB, Pearl Jam's Vitalogy, and Jeff Buckley's Grace...

Twenty years ago O.J. Simpson was arrested for double murder...

Twenty years ago, Major League Baseball had a lockout/strike that killed any chance of an amazing Cleveland Indians versus Montreal Expos World Series...

Twenty years ago, I graduated from high school...

And the highlight of 1994...The New York Rangers won the Stanley Cup!

After suffering my first 18 years of life as a Rangers fan, I saw a winner...And lets be honest, I was seeing any winning growing up in Cleveland for a long time...It had been 54 years since the Rangers had won the Cup, so as for being a long suffering Rangers fan...I had some catching up to do...But since 1994, the Rangers haven't been back to the Stanley Cup Finals...Hell, they've barely even sniffed the Finals since then...But here we are, twenty years later, and the Rangers are going back to the Stanley Cup Finals...

The Rangers will face the LA Kings...The LA Kings and the NY Rangers...The Marketing department's dicks are so hard right now...The Kings are good...Their Goalie, Jonathan Quick can go toe-toe with Lundqvist...They skate well...They're fast...Plenty of talent all over the ice...I'll be honest...I'm nervous...I have doubts...But that's nothing new....

I didn't have a lot of faith in this team for much of the season...Early on, they seemed to struggle with adjusting to a new coaching staff, and system...They didn't seem as tough, physically, even though it was mostly the same team as the year before...But Henrik Lundqvist can always carry the team through a rough patch...Oh, wait...The he started out slow...His game even seemed off...But it came around...Slowly other pieces came around...But the offense was often lacking...

At the trade deadline, the Rangers traded their captain, Ryan Callahan to Tampa Bay for their Captain, Martin St. Louis...I hated this trade...St. Louis was 8 years older...Not a physical presence...And seemed like a bitch demanding trade after not getting selected by his GM to be on Team Canada's Olympic hockey team...And demanding to only go to the Rangers...Yet, the Rangers overpaid, giving up a 1st and 2nd rounder, plus Callahan...

Then St. Louis went 11 games without scoring a goal...While Callahan continued to play his steady, two-way game in Tampa Bay...I HATED this trade...Then came the playoffs...St. Louis' mother suddenly passes away...He seems to be playing on another level...Multiple, huge Game changing/winning goals...The rest of the team is feeding off of it...Now we sit here, heading into the finals...Looks like a good trade now...

I still HATE it!

Yes, I'm thrilled the Rangers are playing for the Stanley Cup...But there is a part of me that feels like it's screwed up that Callahan isn't there...Along with Lundqvist, he was the face of the Rangers...He was home grown...He played Ranger hockey, the way it's suppose to be played...But sports is a business right...Yes, yes it is...And the Rangers decided to make a move for business now, and risk some of the future...2 high draft picks and the captain, for an aging scorer who has one last push left in him...

Big picture, I still think its a bad trade...

But do I really want to wait another year or twenty?

Monday Moaning

Welcome to another Monday...This Monday being Memorial Day...Yes, Memorial Day...And just for the record everyone on Twitter, and Facebook, there's no need to post your "Memorial Day isn't just about cookouts, ballgames, and parties" comment...I KNOW....I took history classes in college just for fucking fun!  Here's a Memorial Day fun fact for ya....

Memorial Day was started by former slaves on May, 1, 1865 in Charleston, SC to honor 257 dead Union Soldiers who had been buried in a mass grave in a Confederate prison camp. They dug up the bodies and worked for 2 weeks ...
to give them a proper burial as gratitude for fighting for their freedom. They then held a parade of 10,000 people led by 2,800 Black children where they marched, sang and celebrated.

As for sports...The NHL schedule makers have decided to make my life miserable, as everyone of the Rangers playoff games seem to be on nights I work...While their off days fall on my days off...For example the Rangers and Habs played Thursday...Then the NHL gave them Friday and Saturday off...Which shockingly were my days off this week...What the hell is that...They don't need two days off...I do, but I'm not millions like they are! Then they played again Sunday...While I was working...They get back at Tuesday...While I'm working...

We spent a portion of Saturday cleaning out our basement, as the foundation work, and basement reno starts Tuesday morning...The rest of the house is quite crowded now, and will be for two weeks...I hope the weather is nice...I plan on Molls, Finnegan and I spending a lot of time at the park...Speaking of my little girl, I've realized I haven't popped her face in a blog in awhile...Here she is this past Saturday...

-I did find some excitement on Twitter when I wished harm on Canadiens forward, Daniel Briere...This past week, Briere's teammate Brandon Prust, took a late, cheap-shot at the head of Rangers center, Derek Stepan...It broke Stepan's jaw, and he had surgery Friday, (a plate had to place in there)...Briere comment that it seemed fishy, that the Rangers were playing games...Dude had a broken jaw...How the fuck is that fishy...Why would you have your top center miss at least one game and get surgery as a gamesmanship tactic...I have grown to hate every Montreal Canadiens player and coach...Their idiot coach just won't shut up...Oh, hey boys...Your now down 3-1 after the Rangers OT win Sunday night...You know what...Keep talking shit, and keep losing!

So yeah, I called for harm to Briere, and my twitter blew up...Many people retweeted it, and favorite it...Many got mad at me...Including some so-called Rangers fans...I don't care...Fuck them...Briere is a twat, just like all those diving, crying twats on that team...But the one guy coming at me the most was a dick-bag from Boston who on his profile quotes Milan Lucic's "I'm going to fucking kill you next year!"  When I called him out on this including the #TwitterCunts which I hope takes off, he went silent with me...Typical!

I also found this while I was playing with the puppets on Twitter...Gave this old goalie a chuckle...

(Click on the audio in the top left for a little more effect)

That's it for me folks...Taking the kids to the local Memorial Day parade...Gonna see some friends....Gonna grill some burgers...Drink some beers...Hopefully the History Channel will have some cool shit on, instead of a "Pawn Stars" marathon!

Have a week...

Monday Moaning

Who needs a drink?

I do!  Shit, I already have two...Why waste time getting up and going to the fridge when you have all this room on the desk!?!

That's one of the biggest things I've noticed since going back to working night...I drink more...Not a lot...But I have a couple/few at least 3/4 times a week...You're kind of wound up after the shift...And then you get home, and douche the kitchen stank off of yourself, and you're wide awake...And you know a kid will be waking you up in a handful of hours...So you have a couple to relax, and maybe crash a little easier, and sooner...Unless you get hooked into some dumb movie you've already seen a 100 times...

Then there was Friday night...The Mrs. and I went out for dinner...I had the night off...She had a gift card for Outback Shithouse...The Beer was good...The bloomin' onion was what it is...The Tortilla soup was good, but they need to take the chicken out of the name, since there was none in the soup...Then came our steaks...Her's was good fine...My medium rare came out, barely cooked...It could have moo'ed me a song and done a fucking jig...So, even though I hated doing it, I sent it back...The manager brought a fresh one out, and waited for me to cut into it...As soon as I cut it, he picked it up and said, I'll take care of this...It was that raw, that he stepped in before I could fly off the handle...They bought the steak, and sent out another that was okay...But by that point, I was over it...

Then we went to elsewhere for a couple more drinks, and desert...After that we hit an ATM so we could pay the sitter...Then, we stopped in a lot behind the bank, where the Mrs. dropped an gobbled...That's always a sign of a good night...Dinner may not have been great, but the drinks did their part! Here we are, married 13 years, 3 kids, and she's still a gamer like that...She's the best!

SInce I'm talking about Mrs. Beeze...Almost a month ago I took her to the Christina Perri concert at the House of Blues, for her birthday...I really didn't know the chick with the exception of the few songs my wife an daughter play...I have to admit, she put on a great show, and has a cool voice...But I was even more blown away by the opening act, who was only 17 years old...Her music was more suited for a coffee house, but wow, she's got some talent...She goes by the name Birdy...

And while I'm talking about talented girls...Last Monday was my oldest daughters school band concert...And at one point, their teacher let her put down her clarinet, and her, and a friend took to the keyboard to perform a short piece they wrote themselves...

I'm very proud of them...And I find it refreshing that in 2014, my 12 year old daughter is downloading a the same music on her iphone, that I have...This past week, she just asked me if I added any new Beatles or Rolling Stones songs...We both grabbed some Birdy songs as well...In a world full of one-hit wonders, and bullshit Jay-Z crap, and stupid fucking Bieber, I have a 12 year old daughter searching for good classic rock tunes on iTunes...And yes, I suggested "Gimme Shelter" and "Paint it Black"...And of course, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"...I may try to turn her onto Husker Du this week!

Maybe you're asking, where's the Sports? I don't know, I was working during every damn NHL playoff game I wanted to see...But the Rangers beat the Penguins, and then rolled Montreal Saturday...This after Montreal beat Boston, and somehow managed to still get their Canadian feeling hurt...But if you watch Montreal play, the diving, the crying, and bitching, the cheap shots...You'd understand why people don't like them...They are the Canadian version of the Penguins...Douche-nozzles!

Last I saw, Sterling is still a racist, and keeps saying stupid shit...Tall guys are playing basketball, and I have spent no time or energy on seeing what that's about...Baseball...I'll get to you when Hockey is done...

California Chrome won the Preakness Saturday...I was working...So now, everyone's hopes are up again...Is this the horse that will do it...Finally a Triple Crown winner....Let me answer that for ya...NO! But we're going to get a few weeks of hype...Hopefully it draws more people to watch the Belmont...But you can have California Chrome...I'll take the field...

Have a week...

The Beeze.

Monday Moaning

That's right people...Kate Upton is a Rangers fan too...But lets be honest...Smart, foulmouthed guys like me, and good looking women have one thing in common...Our love of the Rangers...Am I right Margot Robbie?

Yeah....I'm right....

Sunday night the Rangers tied up their series with the cheap-shotting, always crying, Shittsburgh Penguins...The last couple of games the Rangers seem to be clicking...Although it still scares me that the line of Brassard, Pouliot, and Zuccarello have been their best line...Pssst...Rick Nash, get your shit together!   Game 7 will be Tuesday night...And of course, like most games nights...I'll be working...SHIT!

And anyone who wants to deny Crosby is a cheap-shotting, dirty, crybaby player...NBC Sports actually showed it, and called him on it...I know...I was shocked too...It was after game 5 and the Rangers had all the Penguins frustrated...Crosby slashed, speared, cross-checked, shoved, multiple Rangers, and then would cry when some one knocked him on his ass, or pushed back...Here's a clip from game 6 of Crosby being a punk-ass...But there's a bonus feature in it...

Watch closely, as Crosby is slammed to the ice, and Lundqvist is skating by...Henrik gives him a little water bottle squirt to the face...I love it....

It's even more funny, because there was all kinds of shit raised about Bruins Shawn Thorton squirting PK Subban in the face Saturday...I believe Thorton was fined...So I'm sure Boston will be watching to see what happens with this...Mind you, any fine they could give Lundqvist wouldn't even dent his wallet...

Anyways...Fuck Crosby...I'd completely be happy if his career ended Tuesday...He may be a superstar that the NHL is trying to sell...But he's not what you should be selling...I would never tell a kid, 'watch Crosby, that's how you should play'...It's not...If I was building a hockey team and was told I had to take 5 Penguins...He wouldn't be on my team...He can score...Big deal...Hockey isn't just scoring...Fuck Crosby!

Now...I guess I need to talk about the NFL Draft...I mean it was the big news this week/weekend...I watched Thursday night...I loved the Browns trading down...They robbed the Bills of their 1st and 4th next year, just so the Bills could move up 5 spots...Then the Browns took shutdown corner Justin Gilbert...And Browns fans bitched...Heaven forbid you have a guy playing opposite Joe Haden to lockdown the secondary...There was even a former sports writer from the Cleveland Plain Dealer who bitched on twitter how CB's don't win games, QB's do...Hey Timmy Rogers, maybe that's why you're out of work dipshit...You're right, Seattle's defense had nothing to do with their success...Fucking idiots!

Then all the talk was about Johnny Manziel falling...Except, if anyone paid any real attention to scouts, you'd know that NO NFL team thought he was worth a top 10 pick...Then the Browns jumped up from 26 to 22 for their 5th round pick, and....They took Manziel....And Cleveland went batshit, fucking crazy with joy...A new savior has risen to throw interceptions!

Forgive me for not being as excited as the rest of Cleveland...I don't like the kid...And I don't think he'll last in the NFL...Then Friday it was leaked that the Browns paid $100,000 for a full, analytical, statistical breakdown, of who would be the best QB in this draft for them...It came back Teddy Bridgewater...So, that the guy I liked, and I'm not surprised the Browns ignored what their money told them...Then, just before round two and three kicked off, it was released that All-Pro, WR Josh Gordon failed another drug test...Second in the NFL, plus two in college...Some fucking assholes never learn...So he'll be suspended for awhile...But the Browns didn't change their draft strategy, even after it broke the WR Nate Burleson broke his arm in OTA's...So Greg Ooops I Dropped It Little is the man, because the Browns drafted no WR's...But I really like the RB from Towson they drafted...Could have...Better have a strong ground game this year!

Listen, I don't like the Manziel pick, but I like how they got there...I like that they raped the Bills over 5 spots, so they walk into next years draft with 2 first rounders again...I love the Gilbert pick...Dude also is quick and can return kicks...They picked up a good Tackle, and a good Running back...A strong LB from Iowa, and another depth CB...They had a plan and they executed it...We'll see how it works...

And then some draft news for all the Notre Dame haters...The Irish had 8 players drafted...Then 6 undrafted free agents signed...How'd your team?

Oh, and when you watch the draft next year, watch on the NFL Network...Fuck Berman, Gruden, Kiper, and Ray Lewis...And besides those annoying ass-hats, Mike Mayock blows Kiper out of the water...Dude knows his shit...Hits on a lot more then Kiper or McShay...Shit, Mayock nailed it at pick 100 when it was a kid that won't even play next year because of a ACL injury that happened at the senior bowl...I about shit...

That's it for now...

Have a week...

The Beeze.
