Bill Burr is the Hero We Need

 

It seems to be a quarterly event that Twitter gets upset and tries to attack and "cancel" comedian Bill Burr. What did he do that was so bad? Nothing! He got a gig announcing Grammy winners for the virtual part of the Grammy's that isn't the big TV production and a bunch of awards that white America and mainstream America/media doesn't give a shit about. Oh, and he made jokes. Including jokes at his inability to pronounce names correctly and the fact that his pasty white-male self was up there giving out awards for a number of "Latin" categories.

The fact that he went with a Dokken reference was hilarious!

So, lead by white people, the cries of "Bill Burr is a racist" came flooding onto Twitter. 

Just last week on one of his podcasts he was mocking the people who were acting shocked that the "Royal Family" might be racist after hearing one of them asked "How dark" will the baby be,  Burr went on to say if there was any proof you needed how races should mix if a couple is so inclined, look no further than "my two beautiful kids." He then mocked his own "pasty," "awful" looks and gave his lovely, (black) wife Nia all the credit for their children's beauty.

If you know anything about Bill Burr and his comedy, he makes fun of everyone. EVERYONE. And he does not apologize for any of it. 

The right will tell you that "cancel culture" is a weapon of the left. It isn't. It's used by both sides, both parties, as Congressman, Jamie Raskin pointed out last week, calling out fellow Congressman, Jim Jordan.

That being said, this latest bullshit, calling Bill Burr a racist is coming from the left. A very clueless, ignorant, loves to be triggered, left. A heavily white, left that loves to say 'look at me! I'm a good white person!' Thing is, if you have to say it, you aren't! 

Then I saw this shit, that Bill's wife Nia quote tweeted:

This dude just called Nia Renee Hill, Bill Burr's "minority sex servant" and that Burr owns her. Not only is that some of the most racist shit I have heard/read, but its some of the most sexist shit I've heard/read. So all you triggered fucking assholes, feel free to "cancel" Clayburn Griffin!

The last time people tried and greatly failed at "cancelling" Bill Burr was after his SNL appearance. That time he got it from both the right and left and mainly white women from both sides. But guess what...Besides doing his job as a comic and being funny, everything he said was true.

Not all heroes wear capes. To bastardize a Batman Quote, Bill Burr isn't the hero we deserve right now, but he's the hero we need.

Monday Moaning: SNL, I'm Over It!

 

I have to get this off my chest. Yes, I know SNL has always based much of their content around social and political issues. I'm 45 years old, I remember when the show was not only good, but when it was great. I have never had an issue with the show touching on politics and social issues, but I'm starting to get annoyed with the trending theme of how everything is awful these days. 

I love Kate McKinnon. She funny, a good writer, good actress, but I don't need Kate telling me hard the last year has been. I don't think we need to hear Kate complain about how nothing in America works anymore. I don't need her on-air meltdowns because everything is all fucked up. Yeah her doctor bit was okay and it was funny when she lost it and Colin Jost broke character, and asked "Kate are you alright?" To which she responded "no." That wall being broken down was fun but the show seemed to follow that line and now each episode has a couple skits reminding us how broken or fucked up things are.

I always watched the show for laughs and if you can make a bigger point while getting the laughs, great...But people don't need to be reminded shit blows right now. We're all looking for escapes from that, if only for brief moments.

And we really don't need to be told how bad things are by people who don't have it that bad. Kate McKinnon don't lose her insurance because she's in multiple unions that keep her insured. She still has a nice contract with SNL, so she isn't missing any paychecks. Yeah Quarantine/lockdowns suck. Lack of physical and social contact can suck. I get it people are dealing with even more mental health issues now, then ever before. People in her shoes, have a bank account with big-time movie money in it, giving them many more avenues to get help, unlike countless Americans who are scraping by, hanging on for dear life.

 Yeah, 2020 sucked and 2021 has started out shitty, but something tells me Kate and company haven't had to go through the pain in the ass and embarrassment of having to file for unemployment or standing in line at foodbanks. So when a well-off movie star/comedian keeps losing it, or harping on how bad things are over the last year, that shit kind of rings hollow. 

I don't mind celebrities speaking up for the everyman, trying to support the little guy, but I can't stand celebrities acting like their the everyman, when they have all the means to get through shitty times.

I hope, SNL gets past this phase quickly. I'll tune in this week, not to see if they do, because I doubt they will, they tend beat dead horse. I'll be tuning in solely to see Phoebe Bridgers sing.

Monday Moaning

There are a few things I have to write about this week...A couple we will discuss here, and another will be given it's own post...The first thing I am going to touch on is comedian Louis CK and his appearance Saturday on Saturday Night Live...Twitter was exploding Saturday during the broadcast, and Sunday morning the Internet was covered with columns, and blogs, and blurbs about how offensive Louis CK's monologue was...It appears Louis wasn't afraid to poke fun at three hot-button issues, as well as himself....Racism, the Middle East (Israel included) and Child Molesters...Here's the clip if you want to watch...




I have two problems with those getting upset about Louis CK's jokes...

1. He's a comedian telling jokes...You may not laugh at the same things as everyone or anyone...Just as we all don't like the same movies, music, politics, food, you name it...Everyone has their own tastes...It's comedy, not Maw and Order where every fucking episode is the same!

2. It's SNL...This use to be the place that did ground breaking comedy...The place where the envelope was pushed...Where it made you laugh, cringe, and think...I was happy to see them pushing again, because to be honest, with the exception of a skit here and there, the show has sucked for a number of years...

The Child Molestation shit really got people touchy...(pun intended)...Maybe you twats should go back through the archives and look up SNL in the early years, when they had a character named "Uncle Roy"...He was a babysitting pervert, who not only did creepy shit with young girls, but in the end, he won...He didn't get busted...Finding video is hard because SNL has gotten so soft...But here is a clip of the Opie and Jimmy show...Early in the show they are talking about SNL, and then some characters Jimmy does, which lead to discussion of "Uncle Roy...At 14 minutes and 20 seconds they play the sketch and give you play-by-play...It was a whole lot worse then what Louis CK said...





Uncle Roy is a fucking creep...But no matter how cringing something is, I'm not going to complain about it being on TV or radio, or whatever...I believe in freedom of speech, even speech I don't agree with...I also believe in something just as powerful...

The remote control! You don't like it, turn it the fuck off cunts!

And one last thing to all those bitching and tweeting about what a monster Louis CK is...Guess what, you're talking and writing about him...He won!

- Next, the stupid Patriots underinflated balls story kept getting air-time all week...And looking at it all closely, I have to say, When the fuck is Robert Kraft going to sue the NFL?  Their idiot report clears the Patriots organization of wrongdoing, yet Goodell fined the team a million dollars, and ripped them of two draft picks...Doesn't really make sense...And the main reason they say Brady is guilty is because he didn't give them his phone for them to look at texts...A phone they had no legal ground to ask for....I do remember another investigation (with no legal standing) that asked Roger Goodell to give his phone and he refused....So why the fuck is this guy still the commissioner!?!

If Brady just would have punched a women, beat a kid, raped a girl, and covered up a murder, he'd be fine....

Fuck them all...I'm done with this topic now, and I'm done with the fucking asshole NFL!

- Okay, on a much more important topic...Sunday Cleveland had it's annual Marathon...Yes, we have a marathon...As long as I've been a live...It doesn't get the hype or the fanfare of some of the other marathons...We're a smaller city, and we aren't always mugging for the camera....Don't give me your shit New York and Boston, we all know you love the spotlight, and you know you're a little fucking annoying sometimes...

Honestly I don't really pay attention to any marathon...they're kind of boring to watch...But a friend of mine Brendan Goers was working down there and snapped a pic and posted it on facebook...

Yep, those are Firefighters running in full gear...26.2 miles...a high of 82 degrees with 64% humidity...I was blown away by how, as my friend described them, "Badass" these guys are...I had to dig into it a bit...

They had the full gear, including the 40 pound pack on their backs...The only exception they made was running shoes...Why did they do this? to raise awareness and money for ALS...One of these guys dad has the awful disease...The Parma Heights Firefighters raised over $15,000 for ALS...That's fucking awesome!

Screw your ice water challenge...Run a marathon in full firefighter gear....That's a fucking challenge...I shit on things in Cleveland area often...But I was proud as hell Sunday seeing this.

Riley Cooper....Riley, fucking, Cooper...Who the fuck is Riley Cooper? That's what I was saying when all of the sudden the "News" and "Sports News" media started talking about Riley Cooper as if he was some one important...'What did this nobody do?' is what I was thinking...Then I saw it...



Let me start by saying this....Why is anyone shocked that a guy named Riley Cooper got drunk and said he wanted to fight Niggers?  If your name is Riley Cooper, you might be a redneck...Shit, you are!  A guy named Riley Cooper, shit I would just assume he's always drunked up...Drunk, white guy, with a really white name, at a country concert....I bet he wasn't the only asshole saying ignorant shit!

So why are we shocked...Yes, it's 2013...We would all like to believe racism is dead, but lets stop fooling ourselves....Hate ain't going anywhere!

We play shocked, especially those in the media, because we saw it...All of us...Why did we see it? Because it's 2013 and everyone, including those under the poverty line, have smart phones, and everyone is looking to get 15 seconds of fame with the next big viral video...Everyone has there fingers ready to film...Ready to tweet...Ready to instagram....Ready to facebook every little thing that happens...And if they see a dopey NFL player, or any athlete, musician, or actor, they are hoping that person fucks up, and they catch it on their smart-phone, so they can share it with the world...

The American Dream use to be, provide for your family, give your kids a better life than you had...Have something to retire with...Now, it's get a viral video, get some pub on Gawker or Deadspin, maybe even Huffington Post...Get on a "reality" show, and be famous, if only for minutes, for no good God Damned reason at all....

And all of you fuckers out there running around, trying to catch the next viral video...Dying to tweet the link...Get it on Vine, and YouTube, and Instagram...Post the link on your Facebook...All of you fuckers are the same fuckers bitching that the Government is spying on us...That Snowden is fucking hero...No, he broke the law...Broke the contract he signed when he was given clearance, and is most likely selling shit to Russia...He's fucking traitorous cunt!  Guess what...The government doesn't need to spy on you shit-dicks...You just posted everything about yourself online trying to be a viral superstar!

Is what Cooper did stupid? Yes...Is Cooper an asshole? Yes...Do you believe Cooper was just being a drunk ass, and he's not really a racist?  Who fucking cares!  He's an asshole that said shit we never would have heard had some douche not been sticking his phone in his face...And why is the White guilt stricken media, and so-called Black activists so fixed on shit like this, when there are real, and serious problems out there in the Black community....

And in case you missed it, the brother of Cooper's teammate, Michael Vick...You know his little brother who has constantly been in trouble with the law, and the NCAA back in the day...Yep, Marcus Vick, the classy guy he is, put a bounty on Cooper...Offering up big money to any safety who takes Cooper out...Listen, Cooper is dick...He said Nigger...Okay...The Vick brothers, killed fucking dogs...Lots of dogs dead at their hands...I don't even like animals, but I consider killing and abusing dogs worse then saying nigger...So shut the fuck up dude who couldn't make it in the NFL, because he couldn't stop getting arrested!

-How about some baseball...Everyone has been waiting on the news about A-Roid and the other cheaters...Here's all I have to say...A-Roid tried to buy people off...Tried to destroy evidence...And has done whatever he could to fuck with MLB and drag this out...Dude should get the life-time ban...Then they say the Yankees will get out from under his contract...Fuck that...They re-upped the guy to his outrageous contract, knowing he had already been a cheater once before...Fuck them too!

But the baseball story that caught my eye was Texas pitcher, Matt Garza attacking A's Eric Sogard and his wife Kaycee via twitter...Sogard and the A's dropped 4 bunts on Garza Saturday, 2 from Sogard, including a key squeeze in the 7th...Apparently, Garza sucks as a fielder, and can't handle teams bunting on his sorry ass....So the A's took advantage of that...Garza had shouted some shit at Sogard on the field...Garza says he asked "Where to eat in Oakland?"

BULLSHIT!

Sogard's wife tweeted after the incident that "@EricSogard would be the last person to respond to getting called names"

That somehow lead Garza to going bat-shit crazy and getting into a one-sided twitter war with the Sogards....





The Sogards never bothered to get into it with Garza who's twitter account is protected, so he has to approve you before you can follow him and see his tweets...So, it's not manly to bunt, or to have a wife that supports you...But it is manly to bash people behind a locked twitter account...FUCK MATT GARZA!

I don't follow him, but I did tweet @ him a number of times, making it clear that I think he's a cunt...

-As for me, the family and I had a great long weekend...Going to work is gonna suck!

-Football season is right around the corner...And thanks to SNL there is now a funny guide showing the differences in the two forms of Football played in the world...
