Monday Moaning (The Best of 2013)

That's right Scarlett, get the Champagne ready...New Years is upon us...

At the end of 2012, I heard a lot of people wishing it away, and happy to see it go...For the most part, 2012 was okay for us...Then 2013 started and it started shitty...The first half of the year was tough...Lots of bullshit to deal with...Lots of things not going our way...But I didn't wish it away...And talking with Sully on Christmas Eve, and later with my wife, I realized, as tough as this year was...As much of it sucked, we're still doing okay...We're a lot better off then many...So, when reflecting on your year, remember to look at the good with the bad...And look at where you are, compared to so many others who are having a much tougher go at it...

Okay, off my high horse...

So, normally I watch a ton of the college bowl games at this time of year...But it seems like they haven't had as many this time around...Maybe they aren't space them out as much, and just cramming them into a tighter slot...Saturday I finally got into some bowls...

I watched the second half the The Pinstripe Bowl, as Notre Dame grinded out a 29-16 win over Rutgers...All year I've been looking for the Irish to lean on their ground game...They finally realized it in the second half, of their final game of the season...It says something when the MVP of the game is a OT, as Senior Zack Martin lead the young O-line in dominating Rutgers up front...

Teddy Bridgewater and Louisville took Miami apart, 36-9...and after that I watched Kansas State roll Michigan 31-14...It felt good to watch 3 games and be rooting for the winner in all three...Thank God, I needed to make a couple extra bucks after Christmas! May have been the best College Football Saturday I had this season!

So that leads us to My BEST of 2013...

First, the Best Hockey Hit of 2013 ...

Thank God there are still leagues that allow beautiful, open ice checks...This was a high school game...Sad to say, if that kid goes any further he's going to have to stop laying people out with good, clean checks like that, because Hockey is starting to try and take away open ice hits like this...

Best Hockey Goal of 2013...

Nothing like a 19 year rookie Tomas Hertl, racking up his fourth goal of the night by not giving a fuck, and trick shot-ing  the fuck out of the backup goalie...This may have been the goal that got Martin Biron cut by the Rangers!

Best Offensive Touchdown of 2013 ...

Auburn, the kings of the big finish...This so should have been picked off, but Georgia fucking sucks, and Auburn will make you pay for that...

Best Defensive Touchdown of 2013...

What did I tell you?  Mother Fucking Auburn will make you pay...Offense, defense, they're about to lose, but no, you fucked up, and they just stole your game...Watch out Florida State...They're going to be pulling some witchcraft on your ass too...

Best Broken Leg of 2013...

Way to go Anderson Silva...You slipped that one in last second, to pull out the big win...HOLY FUCKING OUCH!!!

-Now...Enough sports...Time for my other love...Music...There was some really good music in 2013...I'm going to give you my Best 5 Albums of 2013, with a taste of each...

-Frank Turner's "Tape Deck Heart"  Great songwriter, taking his punk roots to the acoustic world...

-Lorde- "Pure Heroine"  This does not fall in music I would find myself listening to, but when I heard that the most offensive community, the Hip Hop community was offended by her lyrics in her hit song "Royals" because she basically called them out for their idiotic lyrics/lifestyle, I had to check it out...I was blown away that a 16 year old wrote this album...Amazing...

Here's the latest single...

-Raine Maida- "We All Get Lighter" The Our Lady Peace frontman's second solo album is again acoustic and instrumental...Just the raw music laying down the path for the emotional lyrics to follow...Just as in his first album, you won't find anything that sounds like an OLP song...Which while being an OLP fan, it's great to hear Maida detach himself from that a do something different...

-Twenty One Pilots-  "Vessel" This two man wrecking crew mix, rap, rock, electronica, and everything you can think of to make a record that should make the music world take notice...And their live show is amazing...But I have to hang in the back by the bar, because I'm the oldest fucker there...

-Elvis Costello & The Roots- "Wise Up Ghost" Costello cut up more then a dozen of his old songs, making them less melodic, and bit more conversational...This is not a rock/hip-hop mash up...The best description I heard was it sounds more like a "wordy bebop record"...Costello is taking a Jazz approach (flexibility) with his lyrics on this one...

That's it folks...Feel free to share your best whatever's of 2013...

Have a week...Happy New Year...

The Browns Circle of Suck Continues

When it comes to the Cleveland Browns, I am rarely shocked...But following their loss Sunday to the Steelers, rumors started swirling that head coach, Rob Chudzinski would be fired...What...Yeah, the team sucks, but it's only his first year as head coach...It's bad enough that this is the third or fourth time that his role in the organization is going to be terminated, but one year?  And yes, within hours, the Browns released a statement saying that they actually did shit-can Chud...

One year as the head coach, with a team who's #3 QB was their best QB, until he destroyed his knee...One year, where the front office gave up on last year's #1 pick and traded him away early in the season...Okay, dude (Richardson) didn't do shit for the Colts, but it's still weird...So, no QB, no running game...Every back on this team was picked up off the scrap heap...One good WR, one good TE, and a couple good O-linemen...A defense that played well, for 3 quarters each week, but when you're out there all day carrying the whole team, you're gonna wear down...

That's what the Browns Logo should be...That's what they gave Chud to work with...A steaming pile shit...

An old friend of mine summed up this situation on Facebook really well...

"The Browns basically gave Chud a typewriter and fired him for not being able to send emails with it."

Thanks for that Matt...You nailed it!

I gave up my Browns fandom a couple years ago...I'm out...I don't by the gear, I take my kids ice skating during the games...I waste no time, and no money on the NFL's most consistent product...Consistently bad product that is...Clevelander's I suggest you do the same...This organization is the laughingstock of the NFL...

I wish there was another city out there, that wanted to take Browns away again!

Christmas, Fantasy Football, and Hockey...

Merry Christmas folks...Here we are, the day after Christmas...But I don't stop the holiday spirit right there..."The twelve days of Christmas" start on Christmas...Not before...So I have no problem leaving the lights on...Playing some Christmas music, and watching a couple extra Christmas flicks...I use to get bummed out Christmas night...After all that time, money and energy, for it to all be done in a day was a downer...But I've learned to enjoy it, and extend the fun with the kids...

Oh, the kids...Holy crap did they get spoiled...Every year Mrs. Claus and I say we're going to not spend as much...We're going to scale it back a bit...But then Christmas Eve comes, and we do our thing, and I take a picture, and we realize, 'We've done it again!'

Yeah, they got hooked up!

The kids had a blast...They loved all the stuff they got...Plenty of what they wanted, and plenty of surprises...Especially our oldest, who got a 32 inch TV for her room...Something tells me little brother is going to want to hang out there more...

Mrs. Beeze was also very happy with the sweaters, Kindle Fire HDX, and concert tickets I got her...She was very happy and surprised...I was very surprised when I opened a Rush tin, that had two sets of special edition Rush playing cards...But it also had a $200 Guitar Center gift card for me to put towards my dream guitar...I also got a really nice coat, and NHL14 for the Xbox, so finally my New York Rangers will be playing well!

-For a bit of sports news, I found myself shocked to be in the YouGab Fantasy Football Championship this past week...My team had struggled all year, and to my surprise limped into the playoffs...I had no idea...I hadn't even looked at my roster for a couple weeks...Then Sunday I looked, and I was in the Championship against Uncle B.O.B.  It came down to Monday night and him having Frank Gore going...Luckily, Colin Kappernick liked calling his own number near the goal line...Was to use Gore as a lead blocker...Championship, Beeze!

I may go all next year without trying...Maybe I'll go undefeated!

-Thursday Team USA begins their defense of their World Junior Hockey title...They open against the Czech Republic at 11:30 AM on the NHL Network...Sadly, fucking AT&T Uverse doesn't carry the NHL Network...I've been waiting two years for these two companies work out a deal, and it's pissing me off!

The U.S. then plays Slovakia Saturday, Germany on Sunday, and then the big test comes Tuesday against Canada...Team USA will roll 4 solid lines, and has two top-notch Goalies...Look for Providence College's Jon Gilles (drafted by Calgary) to carry the load...He has the potential to steal a game or two on his own...

If you have a chance to watch any of this tourney, featuring a ton of young hockey talent from all over the world...Check it out...

That's all I have for now...I need to go catch the last West Coast feed of "A Christmas Story"...

I hope you and yours have had and are having a great holiday season...

Monday Moaning (The Beeze's Top 10 Christmas Songs)

This week the normal Monday Moaning is taking a break...It's just before Christmas and I've been all wrapped up in getting things ready for Christmas...We have our annual Christmas Eve party...Plus I have to pick up the Christmas dinner duties because my Mom was slowed down by some health issues...Don't worry, she's fine...Minor thing, but it threw my folks a wrinkle...My brothers aren't in any position to pick up the slack, so it's on us...

Anyways I've spent no time on sports between work, and the Christmas prep...So, I'm going with music...Music as always been big in my life...Ever since I was a kid...My Mom teaching me about the Beatles and Stones...My dad teaching me about Blues and Jazz...Then my older brothers brought in their influences...I've been hooked on music forever...So this week, since I've been sharing different Christmas song each week, we'll get into the full list...Well, at least the top 10....

1. The Kinks- Father Christmas....The poor kids anthem, and a classic Kinks riff...

2. Billy Squier- Christmas is a Time to Say I Love You...Showing my age...The days when MTV played music...Totally underrated Christmas song...

3. Dead Sara- Snow in Los Angeles...This is a new one...Released last year just after I had done a list of Christmas songs...This one shot up right away on my list...

4. Pearl Jam- Let Me Sleep (It's Christmas Time) Back in the early '90s none of us expected  these guys to do a Christmas song, but they did, and it's excellent...

5.  "Blue Christmas"  This one is an old standard...It always makes me think of those I wish were still with us...I'm sure there are plenty of people feeling this year...I don't like Elvis...And since my favorite band did it a couple years ago, I'll go with them...Our Lady Peace...

6. The Pretenders- 2000 Miles...I just flat-out love this song...My favorite song from the Pretenders...

7. Daniel Mustard- Since Santa Ain't Coming...I shared this a couple weeks ago...An anti-Christmas song, from a guy who just months before recoding it was homeless...

8. Let it Snow...Another old standard...You gotta love how Dean could lay it down...And I have to say, the Rat Pack Christmas album is awesome...

9. Silent Night....I'm going with the Sarah McLachlan version...But there are so many great versions, it's hard to screw up...If you really want to get depressed check out the Lisa Hannigan version...Uhgg

10. Chris Cornell- Ave Maria...Everyone knew the Soundgarden front man could sing, but when he did this for 1997's  "A Very Special Christmas Volume 3" everyone was blown away to hear just how amazing of a singer he is...

That's it...What do you think?  What are your favorite Christmas songs?

If you're interested, here's my LIST of the 15 top Christmas Movies...

Have a week...And a Merry Christmas!

Monday Moaning

Well, Christmas is fast approaching...Are you ready...I'm ready for Rosie Jones there to be wrapped up next to my tree!

Megyn Kelly of FOX News has caught some flack for her full throated, not backing down stance, that not only Jesus, but Santa Claus are both white...Now, I never personally got to know these guys, so I can't give a definite answer, but I think comedian Jim Norton summed up the situation best...

"People are mad at Megyn Kelly for saying Jesus and Santa were white,
but not because she mentioned Santa as if he were real?
#CountryOfAssholes"

Yeah...People look pretty stupid when they get worked up over a mythical guy like Santa...But I will say this, in my house, Santa is white...I've got the fucking receipts to prove it...And Santa Beeze is all done shopping...The earliest the Mrs. and I have been done...

But if you are looking for something to get me last minute, this would be sweet...

A mid-70's Fender Starcaster....Awesome, and rare...They've put out a reissue recently...I'd take one of those...

Some reviews are saying the reissues actually play better then the original...I'm willing to try it out...Hint, hint Mrs. Beeze!

-Now for some sports nonsense...As expected, sadly, Jameis Winston won the Heisman Trophy...Why do I say sadly?  Because Jordan Lynch from NIU was invited, but was an afterthought...And Andrea Williams of Boston College, who had one of the great seasons all time at running back, got no respect at all...While he wasn't on my radar pre-season, or even most of the regular season, he should have won...at least top two finish...

But more so why I have become anti-Winston was his reaction to winning...First, he didn't shake the hands of the other finalists when it was announced...I don't think I've ever seen that...Then during his idiotic, rambling speed about "trusting the process" he never mentioned the other finalists...Could have made up for not shaking their hands...Could have shown so real classiness...But he didn't...Yes, he's the youngest guy to ever win it...I don't care, not an excuse...FSU could have, and should have prepped him a bit about dealing with the media, and with his speech...He came off as a total dolt to me...Now, I'm thinking about rooting for Auburn...

-In other expected college football news...Mack Brown announced he was stepping down as head coach at Texas...We all saw it coming...But when Alabama locked up Saban with an extension, I'm sure some people thought Brown would be safe for at least another year...Yeah, I said safe, after saying he was stepping down...We all know Texas pushed him to that...And he's the type of guy to keep it classy...

-Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly has to retool his staff for next year, let alone work shorthanded in their bowl game, as both Offensive Coordinator, Chuck Martin and Defensive Coordinator, Bob Diaco have left for head coaching gigs...Martin to Miami (Ohio) and Diaco to UConn...

But there is good news for the Irish...Quarterback Everett Golson was readmitted at Notre Dame this week...After getting bounced from the team and the University for academic infractions...He spent most of this past semester living in a one bedroom extended stay apartment in San Diego, working with QB coach George Whitfield...Whitfield has worked with Roethlisberger, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, and Johnny Manziel...This was the longest Whitfield has worked one-on-one with an "elite" quarterback, working  hard to turn Golson into a student of the game....Irish Nation is hoping the work pays off...

I give ND credit for booting their starting QB before the season for screwing up how he did...Many schools wouldn't take that stand...And I give Golson credit for working hard to do what he had to, to get back to Notre Dame...He easily could have transferred, and maybe not learned a thing from what had happened...

-Other Irish news...Notre Dame's men's soccer team won the NCAA National Championship this weekend...I don't follow soccer, and don't care at all...But way to go Irish!

-Sunday, the Cleveland Browns managed to blow another 4th quarter lead, and lost to the Bears...With this type of tank job going on, they better not screw up their draft next year!

-Here at the Beeze house, we had birthday madness this weekend...Our oldest birthday was a couple weeks ago, but with schedules her little sleepover with friends was set back a bit...So the girls came over Friday, had pizza...did the gift thing...Goofed around...Then I took them to the ice rink for open skate...Then it was back here, where they played video games, and wrote a song on the keyboard about a girl they don't like...and whatever else until two in the morning...

That rolled into Molly's birthday on Saturday...So we got the tweens out so we could get things going for the little ones...Molly had a blast...And by 5:00PM, I was wiped out...I can't believe she is 3 already....From this....

To this, way too soon....

Time is flying...

Now for this week's Christmas song...This is Sherwin Sleeves' "Christmas La La Song"...I know some people who can't stand it, but I kind of like it...

Alright...I'm off to a long, busy week at work...Plus mix in Little Beeze's Christmas concert, and our daughter's Christmas band concert...'Tis the season to be busy!

Have a week...

The Beeze.

Monday Moaning

So Monday is here again...Wow, that went fast...Before I get into all the College Football madness, and my own personal madness, I have to talk about the Cleveland Browns game in New England...I was busy all day Sunday, but I kept checking into the game...Each time I was shocked to see the Browns in the lead...The lead was never too big...That will happen when you settle for field goals instead of punching it into the end zone...

Late in the 4th quarter the Browns were still up, but Tom Brady gets the ball back with over two minutes left...TD, Onside Kick, Bad Pass Interference Call, TD,  Game Over...Patriots win...The Browns snatch defeat from the Jaws of victory...BRUTAL!

I was reminded of why I gave up my Browns Fan Card...Games like this...Like most of the games they've played this year...

My numerous Ohio State fans had a rough go at it this weekend, and Michigan State's defense handled Braxton Miller and company...And the MSU offense seemed to surprise the hapless Buckeyes defense...The Spartans took down the #2 Buckeyes 34-24, and every Auburn player, coach and fan rejoiced...And all of the SEC had another chance to laugh at Ohio State...

Earlier in the Day Auburn won the SEC title in a no defense allowed battle with Missouri, winning 59-42...Florida State rolled Duke 45-7 in the ACC title game...So it's set...#1 FSU will take on Auburn in the National Championship Game...So how did the other bowls shake out?

I was hoping they would have matched Urban Meyer and Nick Saban's egos in a battle...But instead Saban's Tide will face Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl...Ohio State will take on Clemson in the Orange Bowl...Or the battle of two highly touted teams that fell on their faces!

The Fiesta Bowl will be Baylor and UCF...Oklahoma State and Missouri will play the Cotton Bowl...And in what could be the most fun game to watch, the Rose Bowl, Stanford will face Michigan State...Two hard-nosed teams that like to pound the ball and play defense...Defense! What's that!?!   A rarity these days!

My Irish will play Dec. 28th against Rutgers, in the Pinstripe Bow at Yankee Stadium...The Irish better win! That's all I have on that.

As for my life this weekend...Friday night I took the kids skating...My wife and I were suppose to go out to a Christmas party, but our sitter got seriously sick, and our evening out was screwed...

Saturday we took the kids with friends to lunch with Santa...The saw the fat man...Asked him for a specific thing or two...(already have them...Santa already has his shopping done!) Here's Little Beeze thinking hard about exactly what he wants...

Afterwards we took the kids for ice cream...Then back to our friends home...My buddy and I ditched the kids and ladies for a couple hours, grabbed a couple beers, a burger, and watched some football...Lunch with Santa wasn't that good, or filling...

Sunday was work...Lots of work...We did a big switch in the Beeze house...We moved the girls upstairs to our room...and moved us down to their room...Fuck I forgot how heavy that King size bed was...And those sweet bunk beds I put together months ago...I had to take them apart to get them through the doorways, and up the stairs...It was ton of work, cleaning, lifting...Good exercise too...Which will go well with our change in diet...We've gone with organic meat, fruits, and veggies...And we've been juicing in place of one meal a day...We've both felt better and lost some weight in just a week since we got the juicer...

The weekend went fast, and somehow felt long...

Now for this week's Christmas song...It's more of a anti-Christmas song, but I like it...Daniel Mustard's "Since Santa Ain't Coming"

Have a week...

Monday Moaning

You know, some weekends are work, work, work...Luckily Mrs. Beeze does the majority of the laundry!

The weekend started with me in the kitchen preparing Thanksgiving dinner...The kids watched the parade, my oldest nursing a serious cold that knocked her for a loop Tuesday afternoon, and kept her in bed for 2 days...

Family came and ate...Not too much family...Which meant lots of leftovers...Everyone left the house with extra food, and we still had plenty to enjoy the rest of the weekend...Plus the turkey stew I made with the dark meat, and the bones, and veggies...It cooked on very low heat for about 17 hours, and then we poured it over some fresh biscuits...Delicious!

Then came Saturday...I made it clear that all I was doing was watching football...First Ohio State at Michigan...It became very clear, early in this game, that neither team was here to play defense...It came right down to the wire...Michigan scores with less then 40 seconds left...42-41 OSU...Michigan coach Brady Hoke decides to try to ruin the Buckeyes' season right here and go for 2...They failed...Seemed like a bad play call, not giving his running QB an option to run it in himself if it's there...Me, I would have played it safe, kicked the 1, and go at it some more in OT...People say OSU would have rolled in OT...Well, the way the game went, Michigan wasn't having trouble moving the ball themselves...Oh well...The Buckeyes undefeated season marches on, looking ahead to Michigan State in the conference championship game...and looking over their shoulder to see if they get jumped by a 1 loss team in the rankings...

Then the "Iron Bowl" came on...Alabama at Auburn...So many of us wanted to see an upset...And with 1 second left, Alabama attempts a 57 yard field goal with a freshman kicker...Their starting kicker (who I won't name because he has already gotten enough hate mail and bad press) missed 3 field goal attempts earlier in the game...The kick was short, and Auburn CB Chris Davis returned it 109 yards for the winning, touchdown...

Fucking Auburn is becoming masters of the exciting big play, big finish...

After the game, Auburn AD Jay Jacobs was already pissing off Ohio State, and Ohio State fans by making his case to jump them in the standings saying it would be "a disservice to college football" if a one-loss SEC champion was left out of the national title game for Ohio State....Fucking balls down there in the South!

I'm not taking a side here, I'm just saying, maybe wait until your school plays Missouri in the SEC title game before you start trying to get into the National Championship game...

Then I watched my Fighting Irish take on Stanford...I didn't expect the Irish to win, but I was glad they hung in there...The fact is, they could have won this game...Like some other games this year, mistakes, and bad QB play got to them...I read a headline that summed up Saturday's game...

"Rees Shows Heart, Not Enough Arm."

I also had myself jumping to the UCLA/USC game...I was actually expecting it to be closer, but UCLA handled the Trojans 35-14...When that one lost it's luster I started checking on the Missouri/Texas A&M game...Missouri won 28-21, putting them into the SEC Championship game against Auburn, and putting that miserable look on Johnny Manziel's face...And I never get tired of that...

It has been a crazy football week...Thursday, I didn't watch the NFL, with the exception of the last 5 minutes of the Steelers/Ravens game...I did watch the Ole Miss/Miss State game...It was an old school backyard brawl, and Miss State pulled 17-10 OT win...From what I heard, it was better then the Lions/Packers game...

Sunday, I watched no football...Had to pick up the slack from doing nothing Saturday...So, we broke out the Christmas decorations and got all that crap started...It's the earliest we've ever done this crap...I don't like going this early, but the kids were excited...Plus the weekends are already getting booked up, plus both the girls birthday's are this month...Our oldest turns 12 Tuesday...Were the hell did the time go!?!

Oh, and I saw the Browns lost to Jacksonville...Jacksonville...that shit is why I quit being a Browns fan!

So, since I'm being Johnny Festive, I figure I end each week's post with a Christmas tune...But I'm gonna try to use some songs that aren't traditional...Here's Dead Sara's "Snow in Los Angeles"

Have a week...

The Beeze...

Monday Moaning

So this past week started with taking Molly to  Dentist...We'll be dropping even more money into repairs to her baby teeth...The teeth grinding she does has done more damage...It seems her bottom teeth kick her upper teeth's ass...10 upper teeth need repairs...She has ground the enamel away and weakened them seriously...Can't wait for that fun in January!

After the dentist office Monday morning, we had a great day together...It was just great having some quality, one on one time...Oh, with Finnegan the puppy in the mix...Damn dog kept stealing her hash browns!

Wednesday He was dropped off at the Vet's to get his Cleft lip/nose/pallet fixed...He also got his nuts chopped...We picked him up after 5 in the evening...And the poor guy is stuck in a cone until Tuesday, to make sure he doesn't rip out his stitches...

He hates that fucking cone...Been at war with it all weekend!

The rest of the week was crazy...Just a blur...By Friday evening my ass was dragging...Just in time to get up another Saturday morning before 7:00AM to take my oldest daughter 45 minutes away to her Honor band rehearsal...Followed by morning concert...Then back there again for the evening concert...Then the snow started falling...Of course!

-I had little time for college football...But I did get to enjoy the UCLA / ASU game...The PAC-12 is for real people...Lots of good talent, lots of good teams...Unlike the Big-10...And yes, unlike the SEC that actually has just a few good teams...

Hey Florida how does losing to Georgia Southern taste!?! Georgia Southern won 26-20...They completed zero passes for zero yards, yet they racked up 429 yards on the Gators defense...Florida, you gave up 429 yards to Georgia Southern, a team that can't pass...That didn't pass...You knew they were going to run the ball, and you gave up 429 yards...They should just burn "The Swamp" to the ground...Fire everyone...Take away all the scholarships...That is the definition of sucks!

-Now let me move onto rankings...We all know college football has some serious flaws...None more then the whole ranking system...I'm a die-hard Notre Dame fan, so let me use the Irish for this example...

Notre Dame isn't even ranked, yet they beat USC, ASU, and Mich State, all ranked well ahead of them...They lost to ranked Oklahoma...They lost to Pitt (horrible loss)...They lost to then ranked 17 rival Michigan...Yes, Michigan fell apart after that game...They really suck!   And watching every game, I can say this, ND could have beaten Pitt, Michigan, and Oklahoma...If played again, they could take MSU again, but it would be tight, as usual...They could Take USC again...ASU would take them...

Notre Dame is just one of many examples that prove the theory of, on any given day, any team can beat another...Which makes pre-season rankings idiotic because until two teams take the field you really have no idea what you are getting...Even with a so-called playoff, you still have to have a system to rank teams...But it's clear the current formula is crap...Michigan State plays great defense...But they also play a weak-ass Big-10 schedule...Ohio State is undefeated and has hung around the top 4 all year...But their Big-10 schedule, combined with their non-conference schedule is an embarrassment...

I have already lost any passion for the NFL...Now I find myself the most frustrated I have ever been with College Football...And I have always loved Saturdays in the Fall...

-Let me change gears to a bit of Hockey...We have heard and talked a ton about head shots, and brain injuries in Football...Now finally a hockey player is speaking up, and making a bit of noise about it...

New York Rangers winger, Rick Nash returned to the lineup this week after missing over a month from a concussion after a head shot...This one just months removed from a late season concussion last year...

“We’re all in this together.” Nash said...

“I understand how it happens,  the game is so fast, things happen quickly, and I know that I’ve had some hits that have been close calls, but we all have to take responsibility for changing some of the things we do out there."

Nash continued...

"I understand that we don’t want to have huge suspensions for plays that are spontaneous and I’m OK with that, but the players as a group and the union have to take more responsibility for stopping these kinds of hits.  It’s up to the guys to have more respect for each other and our careers.”

“Headshots are a serious problem in the game. You see them all the time, something has to change.”

I have to agree, and I'm glad he said it...Yes, I'm a Rangers fan...And yes, I've always been a fan of Nash...But that has nothing to do with it...We have seen plenty of evidence of how concussions, and head trauma have affected football players...Hockey needs to realize they are looking down the same barrel...

That's it for now...I gotta start planning Thanksgiving dinner!

Have a week,

The Beeze.

Monday Moaning

I won't lie to you my friends...I'm not quite sure what I have for ya in the way of sports this week...I have spent next to no time paying attention to sports...The week went to Hell in a hand basket Tuesday...What happened? I got a new iPhone 5s...That doesn't sound like it would be an awful thing does it?  Well, for me it is...For me, change is a mother fucker...

You see, I have a bit of OCD...It's not like I need everything in my house perfectly clean and in some crazy organized file system...Shit, I've got 3 kids and a puppy, If it was like that, I would have eaten a bullet year by now....It's with goofy shit most of the time...At work, I do have a specific way my station has to be set...But like I said, it's mostly goofy shit...Like, I count the strokes in a certain pattern while putting on deodorant...(No, I won't tell you the wacky pattern, and what I count to...You already think I'm nuts!)...But it's often crap like that...There are things that when my wife realizes it's the OCD kicking in, she's shakes her head, or busts my chops...My oldest daughter has started picking up on things, and gets it...The fact that she gets it scares me that I'm passing on this lunacy...

So, the Phone...The wife wanted to change our cell phone plan, because Virgin Mobile's coverage sucked, and her phone was useless in the area where she works...She also wanted to get the new Samsung Note....If I was going to upgrade, I wanted more memory, and I was going to stick with the fucking iPhone, because I've dumped too much money into iTunes to walk away...

So we get the phones...Then we spend two and a half hours in the store wile they set up the new plan, and switch shit over...The switch over didn't go over as I spent hours at home re-downloading everything back onto my new phone, except pictures...That was the only thing they managed to get transferred...

Then there was getting a cover...My wife and the two skirts in the store would not stop pushing me to get this Lifeproof case...It's supposedly the greatest thing ever...It was also $80...Fuck it, we're already this deep in, so I got it...This thing totally encases the phone...It muffles the sound...fuck that!    It had an extra bit of protection around the camera lens on the screen side, so there was a bump over the screen...That drove me fucking crazy!  It wouldn't fit on any chargers, and all but the apple charger chord would fit...It came with an extension for the headphone jack, because most headphones won't plug into it...And when I held it to my ear, it was uncomfortable...Uncomfortable to me, and my fucked up brain...

Most of this wouldn't make people nuts, but me, I'm a different story....I'm not lying when I say this...This phone cover ruined my entire day Wednesday...Oh, and we couldn't receive incoming calls until about 11:00 AM Wednesday, because the skirts at the store screwed up transferring our numbers...My wife heard in my voice, and then saw it on my face how this drove me nuts...Thursday she told me to go exchange it after dinner...The people at the store looked at me as if I was crazy when I explained it...But they were fine with me exchanging it...I found the perfect cover...Much like the one I had for my last phone, and it felt perfect in every way...I'm not lying when I say this...I had such a feeling of relief when I switched covers...A weight was lifted...I felt happiness...I could look at my phone, and not want to throw it at the wall....I know it doesn't make much sense people, but I am what I am...

Saturday, I didn't see much football...Little Beeze had a (girl) friend over from school...They played video games, and then asked me to throw the football around with them...The girl had better hands them the boy, and she threw a nice spiral...They need to get her playing QB at that school...Her parents own a Chinese restaurant, and had me bring her there afterwards...I figured, I'll just get dinner from here...BEST CHINESE FOOD IN TOWN! and they gave about $40 worth of food for $20!!!

I tried to watch some football late, but I crashed in the chair, which seems to be happening more and more often these days...Falling asleep has started cutting into my "ME" time and blogging time a lot...But thanks to the new phone, I caught this...

Yep, that's the way the season has been going for Georgia...Just ask their coaching staff. as they all seemed to hit the ground at once...

Heads up 'Bama...Auburn has had some serious good luck on their side this year!

And Heisman voters, please give Northern Illinois' Jordan Lynch a look...

So far, he's passed for 2,216 yards, 21 TD's, and 5 INT's...He's also put up 14 rushing TD's with 1,273 yards on the ground...Yeah, he plays in the MAC, but the Heisman rules say nothing about it only going to a player from the SEC, Big-12, ACC, PAC-12, or Big-10...

That's all I've got people...Big plans for this Monday...Gotta take Molly to the dentists...And in the evening I'm taking the other two kids to a screening of "A Christmas Story"...A special 30th anniversary showing on the big screen...In all my life, I never saw it on the big screen...

Have a week...

Monday Moaning

Happy Veteran's Day, and happy Monday everyone...

Although there are some people who aren't happy this Monday....Hell, they weren't happy Friday...Yep, I'm talking about the Oregon Ducks...Way to make me look bad you assholes...Last week I'm out here calling you the #1 team in the land...I'm behind your QB for the Heisman, and this what you do...

Don't get me wrong, (5) Stanford is really good...They out-muscled the (3) Ducks on both sides of the line of scrimmage, but I really thought with all their skill, this year the Ducks would finally get past Stanford....And while we're on it, how the fuck did Stanford lose to Utah...What the fucking shit was that!?!  That alone should keep Stanford out of the top 5...

Thursday night also gave us another big-time matchup, as (10) Oklahoma went to (6) Baylor to give the Bears a test to see if they were for real...Well, they are...The Baylor offense started slow, and the often questioned defense held strong, as the Bears dominated the Sooners 41-10...It's really going to piss me off to see a Stanford team that lost to Utah sitting ahead of an undefeated Baylor team...

And while there has been plenty of Heisman talk about a number of QB's, there has been no talk about Baylor QB, Bryce Petty who has passed for 2,657 yards, 21 TD's and 1 INT...He has also rushed for 8 TD's...Take a good look people...His stats are right there with all the favorites...

Miami is in a downward spiral now, after losing to Florida State...Saturday they got rolled 42-24 by Virginia Tech...

My Saturday evening was kicked in the head when the Fighting Irish looked like shit, and lost to Pitt 28-21...Tommy Rees slipped into old habits, and it bit him in the ass...Early in the game standout DL-man Stephon Tuitt was ejected from the game for a targeting penalty...Looking at the replay, the first angle looks like he went helmet to helmet, but the second angle showed his helmet didn't make contact with Pitt QB Tom Savage...

The following is in no way an excuse for the Irish loss...This is simply about the NCAA's targeting rule which is often a bullshit call in my eyes...The penalty is never called on an offensive player, even though offensive players always put their head down, and lead with the crown of their helmet...The play Tuitt got flagged for, Savage got low, and lead with his head...Tuitt will be flagged if he tackles high, he has to try and get low to make the play...But he is also 6 foot, 7 inches, and 325 pounds...He can only get so low...It's a shit penalty....

This video has all the highlights and low-lights of Saturday's game...About 55 seconds in it gets to the Tuitt penalty...

I'm all for player safety, but ejecting players for hits that aren't intentional, or for impacts that are as much the fault of the offensive player, as they are the defensive player...

Yes, there have been plenty of head shots that the call makes total sense...But there have been plenty of hits that are the fault of the offensive player, or even made by an offensive player, and it's allowed...Their you have RB's, WR's, QB's, TE's, lead with your head...Blow the guy, or get nailed and draw a flag...Either way!'

I've got nothing on the NFL this week, except the fucking Colts lost, and bounced me out of my "Knockdown pool"...There were 30 out of 120 left this week...I could have used that scratch...

I spent too much of Sunday doing some fixing up to our bathroom...And then I raked up some leaves so Molly and Finnegan could jump in them...Fucking leaves...I'm anti-raking leaves...They are a natural fertilizer....Leave on the ground, I say...Even better, my idiot city had their leaf collection day about two days before the leaves started falling...DOLTS!

Then we took the kids to the mall...Some shoes were needed, and some new Winter wear...The cold is coming quick...On our way out, Little Beeze, and Molly wanted Chocolate shakes from the Nestle Toll House stand...My oldest got some cookies...I added a shake for myself to the order...Then I watched one of the world's dumbest people try to make 3 shakes...This dummy made them one at a time, instead of putting the ingredients for all three in the same giant blender...And apparently no one taught her to run the scoop under warm water to help her scooping...20 minutes it took for 3 shakes...At one point, my wife looked at me and said, "What the fuck."  If my sweetheart of a wife wants to choke you out, you must be a fucking scourge on this Earth!

That's it for now...

Have a week...

Monday Moaning...On Tuesday

Yeah, I'm late to posting...Shit happens...So why the sexy Boba Fett?  Because Boba Fett is my Fantasy Hockey team's mascot, and my team came through with big win last week to jump my squad up top second in the division...The slow start is turning around....Ain't it Jeff!?!

Saturday started early for me, as I head to drive my oldest daughter about 40 minutes away for a Christmas Honor Band rehearsal...She was in the Summer Honor Band and really enjoyed it...It a group of kids from all over, they do a couple concerts, have them professionally recorded and get CD's...It's a cool experience, except for getting up at 7:00 AM on a Saturday...After that we hit the grocery store...

Then there was full family house cleaning, before I sat on my ass and watched the Fighting Irish take on Navy...Always a tough game for the Irish...Every year Navy gives them all they've got, and they did again this year...

The Irish come away with the win, but lost another Linebacker...Before the season Danny Spond retired for health reasons...Jarred Grace is out for the year with a broken leg...Ishaq Williams suffered a sprained ACL against Air Force...And now Ben Councell suffered a season ending knee injury...The injuries throughout the defense are piling up, but the LB depth has been devastated...Hopefully the rest of the crew can stay healthy and play strong...

Next, Hockey...Fucking Flyers...This past weekend they Flyers were getting throttled by Washington...At this point, it's late in the game and Washington is up 7-0...Holtby has got a shutout going...Good honest fight breaks out between Simmons and Wilson, then asshole goalie Ray Emery goes after Holtby...Anyone who knows hockey knows Emery is a boxer in pads...Take a look...

You are never going to hear me talking about getting rid of fighting in Hockey...But this right here was garbage...Just some bush-league shit that looks like a scene from "Slap Shot"...And of course, those animals in Philly loved every bit of it....Watch this video taken by a fan...

Of course these shit-dicks loved it...Their team sucks...They fired their head coach after 3 maybe 4 games, and made Craig Berube the new head coach...Berube who was a shit player, but knew how to throw around the knuckles...Well, way to go Flyers...Way to celebrate the fights, and Emery's bullshit move...That's fine, read the scoreboard...You fuck-tards still lost 7-0, you dumb fucking, inbred, assholes!  Rocky was just a movie character you fucking dolts!

What bothers me even more, is Emery wasn't suspended...The NHL keeps talking about player safety, and has added instigator penalties, but a goalie skating the length of the ice, unprovoked, and then starting the fight is okay?  Watch that fight again...Holtby didn't want it...He didn't have a chance and knew it...And all Emery wanted to do was beat on him...There is a point where Holtby is going down, again, and Emery lifts him up, so he can keep beating on him...Now the NHL is saying they're looking into a rule change for next year, where if a goalie leaves his zone for a fight he'll get 10 games, possibly less, just as the rule is for a player leaving the bench for a fight...

This all pisses me off because this is the same league that wrote the "Avery Rule" and put it into effect just days after this happened...

I love Hockey, but the NHL is so full of bullshit...Sean Avery is a dick, so he's not allowed to get into a goalies kitchen!   But a thug, half-assed goalie like Emery is allowed to jump Holtby  because he's pitching a shutout, while Emery and Mason gave up 7 goals...Bullshit!

I love the movie "Slap Shot" because it's a movie...If every hockey game was like that movie, I would have tapped out years ago...

The last thing I want to talk about is Northwestern's special uniforms....I'm all for being patriotic, and rocking the Red, White, and Blue...But giving it a blood splattered look seems over the top, and classless to me...

What do you think?

Have a week....

Monday Moaning

Yeah Oregon...I have you as my number one team...Sure Alabama is still rolling along...But it's easy to roll along when one of the last six teams you've played has a winning record...

1. Oregon
2. Florida State
3. Alabama
4. Ohio State
5. Miami
6. Baylor
7. Fresno State
8. Stanford
9. Oklahoma
10. Clemson

That's my top ten right now, based on schedule strength, wins, and what I have seen...I watch a damn good amount of college football...Too much my wife would say!   Along with a number of the college football talk shows, so I can be aggravated by the talking heads...Pleas keep telling me how great Alabama is...1 of the last 6 teams they have played has a winning record...The media needs to stop giving them points for what they did the last two years..."This is this."  It's all about this year...Only this year...

Baylor hits the meat of their schedule now, so we'll see if their high flying, high powered offense can keep it up...Oregon is # 1 because their schedule...People are not respecting how good the PAC is this year...And Oregon's offense showed this week, even after a bad start, and good D, they can take over a game...UCLA is good, and they thought they had the Ducks setup for an upset...Then Oregon rattled off 28 unanswered points....

Sorry Ohio State fans...Yeah, you rolled Penn State...It was only Penn State...Every week two things happen in the Big Ten...Ohio State looks to be getting better...And everyone else looks weaker...The Buckeyes are being dragged down by their conference...And based on what I've seen, of my top three teams, in my opinion, Alabama is the only one Ohio State can take down...Florida State's thrashing of Clemson last week proved a lot of doubters, including me, that they are for real...

-Now onto The World Series...I'm writing the before Game four is played...I want to be able to watch the game, and go to bed...I had a long weekend as we went to visit family out of town...I'll get to that in a bit...I just want to address this idiot obstruction call which lead to the end of game 3...Maybe, the rule was being called, based on how it is written, but if you look at the still pictures of it, it seems like horse shit...

Seriously, who's obstructing who?  And how is a guy laying on the ground from diving for a ball, suppose to magically get out of the way for a guy who isn't even in the base path?

And why is the guy who called the Obstruction looking at where the ball went instead of looking at the supposed obstruction that is just now taking place?  Jim Joyce sucks balls...I'm not trying to sound like sour grapes, Johnny Boston defender, I'm just calling it like I see it...And I've seen Joyce fuck up a lot of calls, that impacted a number of games over the last few years....Dude sucks!

-So we went out of town...Went to Erie PA...Saw my wife's sister and her family from Boston...Love spending time with my brother-in-law, and their kids...Knocked down plenty beers...Took the kids to Splash Lagoon, an indoor water park...They had a blast, but holy fuck it was expensive...Finnegan stopped at everyone, laid down on his back, and let them rub his belly...Saw the in laws...Saw an old dude who clearly didn't give a fuck about how he parks...

It was a good time, but I hate staying in hotels...All the packing, loading, unloading, unpacking, repacking, reloading, unloading, haven't unpacked yet...And I never sleep well in hotels...Molly slept well, but she still woke up Grumpy Saturday morning...

Shit, that face cracks me up...

-Lastly, Sunday legendary singer, songwriter, poet, rock & roll, icon, and artist, Lou Reed died at age 71...Reed's music was something people either love or hate...His voice was never great, but greatly unique...I was shocked to learn he was 71...Because Lou Reed never seemed old...He was always cool, before everyone else knew what cool was...

Rest in Peace...

That's it for now...

Hope you have a "Perfect Day"

Did Buffalo pull a Fast One on the Islanders?

So Hockey already has it's first big trade of the season...The Buffalo Sabres traded star goal scorer Thomas Vanek to the New York Islanders for Matt Moulson, a 2014 1st round pick and a 2015 2nd round pick...

Sure, Vanek has the label of sniper...Yes, he has had two 40 goal seasons and two 30 goal seasons...But guess what, Moulson has three 30 goal seasons under his belt...Moulson, just like Vanek is 29 years old, and both are slated to be free agents at the end of the season...

So the Islanders negotiations with Moulson weren't going well...So they trade him instead of losing any value they could get for him...But they traded him for a guy also on an expiring contract....And tonight Vanek's agent made it clear the deal was done without a contract extension in place....Vanek's agent Stephen Bartlett also hinted at the strong possibility of his client waiting until Summer for a new deal....

"We'll take it day by day and focus on the short term for now and see where we are at season's end."

That my friends is agent's speak for, 'We'll see if playing with John Tavares can put a big post in Vanek's stats, so then we can land a monster contract from the highest bidder!'

So the Islanders get that...Buffalo get s Moulson, a 30 goal scorer...A 1st round pick and a 2nd round pick...Similar player...Free agent at the end of the year, and two high picks...Darcy Regier and the Sabres win...Shit, if Regier can't lock down Moulson to a contract by the trade deadline, he'll trade him then for a couple of prospects...If there is one thing Regier knows how to do, it's rebuild and snatch good prospects....

If the Islanders were smart, they would have gone after a more important need, and gone after Buffalo goalie, Ryan Miller...Yes, the Sabres will move him this year...They have two strong, young goalies behind him...

What do you thing...Did Islanders GM Garth Snow shit the bed again?  I do!

Monday Moaning

Well, the World Series is set, and the Boston Red Sox are heading back there to take on the St. Louis Cardinals...And yeah, this household will be rooting for Mrs. Beeze's hometown Sox...Plus, I hate the Cardinals anyways!

I plan on keeping this post short...The Beeze is feeling beat up and tired...Friday, while at work, I was getting some stuff from a walk-in freezer, when a not well stacked, box of frozen duck breasts fell on my head...I was okay...My head hurt...And my neck and shoulder slowly started aching, but I finished the day...But the wife was up my ass to go to the ER and get checked out...So I did...A couple of Doctors checked me out...Their main concern was a concussion...My main concern was my neck...In the end, I'm okay, and was told, "You'll feel worse tomorrow, take lots of Advil."

Yep, some cock-sucker went to college for 8 years to come up with that...It's all guess work in a white coat!

Friday evening I had promised to take my daughter and her friend to our local high school's football game...They were on the road this week, so we took a quick drive out to that...Our team was down 21-0 and had two players on their way to the hospital by the end of the 1st quarter...They got smoked...The final was 49-21, and the parents and fans on our side were going wild when out team started playing well on D and scoring in the 4th quarter...I just wanted to stand up and scream...'Relax people, it's our first string against their second and third stringers!'   I get being proud when your kids don't give up, but grab hold of some perspective...Your senior suddenly looks good, because the kid across from him is a sophomore...

We got home later then I wanted to, after stopping for a bite to eat...The place had a band that was doing all 80's covers, so I got a kick out of it, while the girls, not so much...I crashed in  my chair watching Louisville choke away their season to UCF...

Saturday I was suppose to finish redoing our garage roof with my buddy...Luckily it rained all damn day...The Garage work waited until Sunday...That all mixed with the constant run around with the kids has me wiped out...

Saturday night Notre Dame beat USC 14-10...A win is a win...And a win over USC is always good...The Irish defense carried the team, especially after QB Tommy Rees was knocked out of the game...The Irish coaches have said backup, Andrew Hendrix has the whole playbook, but it didn't look like that Saturday, as they barely let him throw...The few passes he threw were bad...The Irish kept it on the ground and tried to kill clock...Luckily, between the defense, and USC just not knowing who they are, the Irish pulled out the win...

There were plenty of upsets this in College Football...Checkout what UNCLE_B.O.B had to say...Also give TAGE a read, as he covered the Pats, Red Sox, College Football, the Mess at Grambling State, what a disgrace that is...and more...

I also want to share this...Very few people paid attention to the Miami (Ohio) and Akron game...Hell, I don't know who won...Let me look it up...Akron won 24-17...But you gotta see this fullback, just destroy this linebacker...

#43 from Miami is fucking wrecked...

The last thing I want to get into is Maxim Lapierre's dirty hit on Dan Boyle last week...

Lapierre only got 5 games for this...To me, that's bullshit...This guy is a repeat offender...Always talking shit...Always diving...And plenty of cheap shots...

And just ask Bruins fans about what a little asshole Lapierre is...The NHL has been talking tough about heads sots and hits from behind, and here is a guy who has a record, and he only gets 5 games...Fucking bullshit...

Not to mention, that Boyle is the second key guy on my fantasy team to be knocked out with a head injury...(Rick Nash is the other...Plus James Neal got hurt 4 minutes into the season...FML!)

That's it for now...Have a week...

The Beeze.

Taking a Stand, Only When it's Trending

Call me old fashioned, but I have no problem with the Washington Redskins name and logo...But lately, it's become the trendy topic...The latest PC cause that every dolt wants to get behind...Even while the government has shutdown, and we sit on the edge of a possible economic collapse, because our politicians act like children, and could give a fuck what the people think, our President took time to give his two cents, on how the Redskins name is offensive....The fact that he's going to fuck around and waste time on that question is offensive...And the fact that a media member thought at this time, that asking the President about the Redskins was an important question, is offensive...

Then there was Sunday Night Football, and Bob Costas on his soap box again...

It wasn't just Costas...That gas-bag Peter King suddenly has a problem with the Redskins name...Now refusing to write the word...Others in the media are piling on...But I'm calling out Costas and King...These two fucking blowhards have been covering football for at least 30 years...Now, suddenly, when it's the big trend, when the topic is getting a bit of traction, these guys have a fucking epiphany...Now Redskins is a slur...Now Redskins is Offensive...This team was started in 1932...Now we're offended...

Costas compared the team name to others, including the Vikings and the Cowboys...Last I recall Vikings weren't the nicest of people...They did quite a bit of killing didn't they?  Maybe we should be offended by that...And holy fuck, the Cowboys...Cowboys killed Indians, AKA: Redskins...SO shouldn't we find that offensive...Dan Snyder needs to tell the NFL, 'Okay, if that prick Jerry Jones changes the Cowboys name, I'll change the Redskins name.'  We all know Jerry would tell Goddell to go fuck his mother over that...

This country has become far too sensitive...Hey, half my family is from Ireland...The Notre Dame Fighting Irish name doesn't bother me...I don't take as some asshole stereotype that all Irish people do is fight...We drink and eat potatoes too!

And why aren't King and Costas screaming for all the high schools in this country to change their Redskins nickname...In the Southwest there are at least 30 high schools with the Redskins nickname...Many on Indian Reservations...If you twats really want to go all Politically Correct, then go all the fucking way in...Don't just go after the big name with the big money...Go get all the little guys too...But Costas and King won't do that...That's not trendy and sexy...I just heard King on Mad Dog Radio, get asked that question, and he hid behind this...

"I don't write about that. I don't cover the Chicago Blackhawks, or Cleveland Indians, I don't cover High School Football. I write about the NFL, so I can only speak about Washington."

What a big, fat, pussy stance!  Typical of that gas-bag King!  He should change the name of his website to "Monday Morning Fat Fuck!"  (I'm totally buying that URL)

I'm sorry...Maybe the term Redskins is offensive...But there is no law...There is now ruling or writing that says we aren't allowed to be offended...People get offended...People get their feelings hurt...It's called life...Knuckle up...I'm fine with that logo and name up top...I'm not liking this idea...

As for the Cleveland Indians, and the mighty Chief Wahoo...Yeah, maybe he looks like a drunk, smiling red-faced Indian...Again, over-sensitive...It's a cartoon....And people are upset...Christ...Look at this comparison...

Now look at that...Does the Chief really look as over the top racist as the "Jews" and the "Chinamen?"  Personally, they could have gone harsher on the Chinamen to really push their point...But the pussied out...And lets be honest...Look at those two...Those would sell like hotcakes if they were minor league teams...BOOM!  I've got it...Time to make my Millions...I'm Starting a minor league baseball league...(yeah dropping league twice that quick felt weird)...Every team is having a cartoonish, "offensive" logo, to go along with their ethnic slur name!

Am I going too far...I don't think so...Some one has to try and balance out all this PC Bullshit!

The Beeze.

Monday Moaning

That looks like the right way to start the week...

I must start by apologizing...For the last couple weeks I have been an absent owner and contributor...There hasn't been any serious health factors, or major things going on in my life...I've just been in a funk...I have sat down to write, and I get there, and feel nothing...I have told myself, I have to write today, and hours later, I say, fuck it...I have been feeling a bit of depression, and I can't put a finger on why...The kids are good...The wife is good, and we are still bumping uglies on a regular basis...The puppy gets on  my nerves...Work is work...But when it comes to sports, I've been feeling 'whatever'...And writing, I've been feeling that too...So, I pulled away a bit...tried just not thinking about it...And then I went to write last week and my laptop was being a dick...just all frozen up....I took that as a sign...Took the week off...Check on few things via the phone, but just tried to get away from pressuring myself...I hope it worked....

Last week, I watched the PBS documentary, "League of Denial"...I have to say, after watching this I want to boycott anything having to do with the NFL...These guys outright lied to players about concussions...The lied to the press...And they destroyed Doctors reputations, including the doctor who was the first to link football with CTE...Yes players do know the risks, but when the league is handing out booklets before the season that state "Concussions don't cause mental health damage" that is fucked up...Then you find out the NFL paid for a study that showed a link between head trauma, and CTE, and they sat on it for years...I was totally disgusted...This also backed up Mrs. Beeze's thoughts of not wanting Little Beeze to play Football, possibly Hockey...

But then a story broke late in the week, that was linked to the NFL, that really got me pissed...A two year old boy, fathered by Adrian Peterson died Friday, after being beaten by his mother's boyfriend, Joseph Robert Patterson (27)...This is just horrible...This guy needs to die...But it gets worse...A year ago Patterson was charged with abusing a 3 year old boy...1. How is he walking the streets?  2. Why is he alive at all?

This is horrible...I feel awful that this happened to this little boy...But all of you people on the Internet need to stop jumping on the latest trends, and memes...Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, fucking everything has been flooded with pictures of a little boy with Adrian Peterson...Many have put angels wings on the little guy...That's sweet...Except the kid in that picture isn't dead...That kid is the boy Peterson acknowledges...This boy that died, Peterson denied being the father until a paternity test came back a few months ago...Up until then, he viewed this child as a prop being used to shake him down for cash...He had little, if any contact with this boy...One news story called the dead boy, "Peterson's SECRET son"...This is not to down play how awful the death of this boy is, just giving you trend-riders some truth behind the story...

And while I don't know Adrian Peterson, I do know the direction our society has been going, and I do know there is a good percentage of pro-athletes that just drop their cum all around and don't think about all the consequences...Just ask Cromartie with his 7 kids, 4 who are all the same age...

And now I find myself annoyed by those praising Adrian Peterson for being at practice, and praising him for playing Sunday...Why am I annoyed?  Because he shouldn't be praised for going to work...If some asshole looked at one of my kids the wrong way, I'm caving his fucking skull in...If some fucker lays his hands on one of my I'm taking my time killing him, and I'm live tweeting during it, taking suggestions for what to do next....Like I said, I don't know the guy, but I don't think he's that broken up about...I mean he refused this was his kid for over a year...Now he's off the books, and the media showing their love for him, for playing while dealing with this awful loss....

Yeah, I sound cold...I sound jaded...But it's hard not to be in this day and age...Call me an asshole, but I don't have any "SECRET" kids...I have 3 with my wife...I only fuck my wife...So, I may be an asshole, but I call it like I see it, and I don't follow the trends...

-In College Football there were some upsets in the top 25...But Michigan losing, shouldn't be called an upset if you've seen the rest of their games this year...They struggled with UConn for fucks sake!  Texas beat Oklahoma, saving Mack Brown just a little longer...(5) Stanford's hopes have been dashed after losing to Utah...OUCH!   Apparently (19) Northwestern left it all on the field in their loss to Ohio State, and got rolled by Wisconsin...(7) Georgia got worked by Missouri...But with all this, were the rankings really shaken up that much...NO, of course not...

-Hey Cleveland, shocker...No Hoyer...It's Weeden time again...

Get use to that stupid-ass losing face again Browns fans!  Losing to the Lions....Damn!

This has been a bit heavy and angry...So here, I'll give you a pic of the puppy...Finnegan is growing, and making me crazy...

That's it for now...I hope this gets me back in the swing of things...It felt good....

Have a week...

Monday Moaning

Now that's the way to celebrate a birthday!

Yes folks, today is the Beeze's birthday...And I can't imagine 4 people I'd rather have handling my cake then those 4!

As for sports...There is tons of stuff going on, and while I've paid attention to much of it, I'm sitting here thinking that writing this blog is the last thing I want to do...No, I won't write about the finale of Breaking Bad...I've never seen a single episode, and the constant tweets and facebook posts about it over the last 2 years make me hate it without ever viewing it...

Yes, the Indians are in the Wild Card...But I would feel like a douche if I was to jump on the bandwagon now...I turned my back on the Tribe last year, and I'll stand by my decision, no matter how foolish it may have been...(I hope they win, but I'm not going to turn into Johnny Super Cleveland Fan)....

The Browns won their second straight game Sunday...Last week the joke was, "wow, these guys don't even know how to tank a season!"  Now we're all scratching our heads wondering if these jokers actually know what they're doing?

My Seahawks squeaked out an OT win in Houston Sunday....

Then there was Saturday's Notre Dame/Oklahoma game...The Irish lost 35-21, and considering the old Tommy Rees showed p and threw 3 INT's, and was 9-24 for just over a hundred yards, Oklahoma should be worried that it was that close...Rees handed the Sooners a 14-0 lead just 4 minutes into the game...As I sat on my bar stool, I turned my attention to the Indians game, knowing for some god forsaken reason, Brian Kelly refuses to give Andrew Hendrix a real shot at QB...

It was even more frustrating to see that every time the Irish pulled within a TD, the defense immediately fell on their face and gave up another one to the Sooners...

In other sad news for the Irish, USC fired the world's most overrated coach, Lane Kiffin Sunday, just 6 hours after his Trojans got beat up by Arizona State....It's bad news for everyone on USC's schedule...You know, because Kiffin sucked...But USC fans and Alumni have to be thrilled...Kiffin does two things when he gets a job...1. He sucks....2. He leaves a path of destruction that takes teams some time to recover from...USC should bounce back faster then Tennessee and the Oakland Raiders...

A lot of the media were getting all moist about Florida State...Well slow down people...FSU just gave up 34 point to Boston College...Yeah, the Seminoles won, but giving up that many points to a team that only scored 24 against Villanova, 24 against Wake, and 7 against USC...Time to get the defense back to work...

Saturday morning Molly and I went out birthday shopping for Little Beeze...His birthday is also this week...After spending too much money on him, and scoring some fall wear for her on sale, we found ourselves a new park, with some excellent swings...

Sunday morning and afternoon the kids and I had a fun time at MAPLESIDE_FARMS....It's a great place to have fun and spend money in the Fall...

Lastly, I wanted to mention something that has gotten nearly no attention the last week...The U.S. won the "America's Cup"....Yeah, that yacht race, that involves yachts that are not like the ones we dream of owning...The Oracle Team (U.S.) made an amazing comeback to win...That may not have gotten enough attention, but what I'm talking about is the team...

I find it annoying when all the sudden Americans feel the need to pound their chest over an event they pay no attention to...And now they are all pumped about winning The America's Cup...Yay, we rule at boat racing!

NO WE DON'T...1 of the 11 members of the Oracle crew was American...This team was made up of mercenaries...These weren't guys doing for their country, feeling honored to race for this land...They did it for a paycheck...You know what? Maybe we should be proud and pound our chest...Is there anything more American then outsourcing!?!

Have a week....
