Trades, Trades, Trades, and more Trades

After the TRADE THAT WASN'T, the Brewers moved OF Carlos Gomez and RHP Mike Fiers to Houston for prospects, OF Brett Phillips, OF Domingo Santana, LHP Josh Hader, and RHP Adrian Houser...

The Brewers have also moved OF Gerardo Parra to  Baltimore for RHP Zach Davies...

The Reds sent pitcher Mike Leake to the Giants for RHP Keury Mella, and IF Adam Duvall...Which may have been a big price for the often injured Leake...

The Pirates strengthened their bullpen, adding reliever Joakim Soria from Detroit, for IF JaCoby Jones...The  Pirates also added RHP Joe Blanton, sending Cash to the Royals...

The Indians moved a couple minor pieces, sending 1B/OF Brandon Moss to the Cardinals for LHP Rob Kaminsky...They also shipped OF David Murphy to the Angels for Eric Stamets...The Angels also added OF David DeJesus from Tampa Bay for Eduar Lopes...

Washington added closer Jonathan Papelbon from the Phillies, for RHP Nick Pivetta...

The Royals added super Utility guy, Ben Zobrist, sending LHP Sean Manaea and RHP Aaron Brooks back to Oakland...

In the biggest (volume-wise) trade...The Dodgers, Braves, and Marlins worked out a 3-team-13-player deal...

The Dodgers got: RHP Mat Latos, LHP Alex Wood, OF/1B Michael Morse, RHP Bronson Arroyo, LHP Luis Avilan, RHP Jim Johnson, UT Jose Peraza...

The Braves got: IF Hector Olivera, LHP Paco Rodriguez, RHP Zack Bird and the Marlins' 2016 competitive-balance draft pick, likely in the 20s...

The Marlins got : Jeff Brigham, Victor Araujo, Kevin Guzman and the salary relief from dealing Latos and Morse

The dodgers got a couple pieces they wanted, and had to eat bad contracts to do it...

If you missed earlier posts, I have the Tulowitzki deal HERE...

The Hamels deal HERE...

The Price deal HERE...

The Deadline is just a few hours away and there are reports of more moves happening...So expect an edit to this post...

Edit:  4:05 PM...The Deadline has past...More Trades...

Marlins Trade RHP Dan Haren to the Cubs for SS Elliot Soto and RHP Ivan Pineyro...

The Cubs also added RHP Tommy Hunter, sending OF Junior Lake to the Orioles...

Seattle Trade right-handed reliever Mark Lowe to the Blue Jays for LHP Nick Wells, LHP Jake Brentz, and LHP Rob Rasmussen...

The Blue Jays being very busy this week, also add OF Ben Revere from the Phillies, for RHP Jimmy Cordero and RHP Alberto Tirado...

Then the Jays sent LHP Felix Doubront to Oakland for cash...

Tampa Bay trades right-handed reliever Kevin Jepsen to the Twins for RHP Chih-Wei Hu, and RHP Alexis Tapia...

And the Mets, after that whole Carlos Gomez mess, finally added a bat to their lineup...landing the OF who seems to get moved every year, Yoenis Cespedes from the Tigers, for RHP Michael Fulmer, and RHP Luis Cessa...

Seahawks and Russell Wilson Reach Deal

After much talk and back-&-forth, QB Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks have come together on a contract extension, that locks him up through the 2019 season...

Four years, $87.6 million...The contract has a $31 million signing bonus, and $60 million of the deal is guaranteed...The guaranteed money was the biggest thing Wilson and his agent were going after...$60 million of a $87 million guaranteed to a very rare thing in the NFL...

The contract works out to $21.9 million per season, just a hair below Aaron Rodgers who is making $22 million per year, making Wilson the second highest paid QB in the league...

Now things get trickier for the Seahawks...Michael Bennett and Kam Chancellor are both looking to renegotiate their contracts...And Bobby Wagner, Russell Okung, and Bruce Irvin are going into the final year of their contracts...

A hour after the news of the deal broke, Bobby Wagner tweeted, "Can't keep evryone"

While Wilson has gotten the security/money he wanted...And the Seahawks have locked up their franchise QB...A whole new level of expectations and scrutiny are about to be placed on Wilson's shoulders...I hope he's up to it.

Four Buckeyes Suspended for Season Opener

Today, Ohio State suspended defensive end Joey Bosa, receiver Corey Smith and H-backs Jalin Marshall and Dontre Wilson for violation of team rules...They'll miss the season opener on September 7th against Virginia Tech...

All-American DE, Joey Bosa is the biggest hit...He notched 21 sacks the last two seasons...The Buckeyes will look to a couple of red-shirt Freshmen, Sam Hubbard and Darius Slade to rotate in opposite red-shirt Sophomore Tyquan Lewis...

It came out last week, that QB Braxton Miller was converting to WR/H-back...This looks like an even better move now, as Miller can fill the void of Marshall a,d Wilson who averaged 5.8 and 5.6 yards per carry...

Much is expected from Smith this year, but now Noah Brown, who had a great spring, will have a shot to step up and make an impact.

I'm not sure what rules these guys violated, but as someone who is not an Ohio State fan, and always look for what this program does wrong, I'm happy to see them make this stand, especially for the first game against a Virginia Tech team that always seem to be a pain in people's asses.

Price Traded to Toronto

Yes, the Toronto Blue Jays have made another blockbuster deal...

Today they have added some much needed pitching to go with their heavy bats, landing left-handed ace, David Price...

In return, the Tigers got three left-handed prospects in Daniel Norris (22)...Jairo Labourt (21)...and Matt Boyd (24)...Boyd and Norris are in Triple-A, while Labourt is in Single-A...By everything I have read, Norris is the key player in the deal...

Price, (29)  will be a highly coveted free agent after this season...

I'm not sure if the Blue Jays have a shot at the division, but they are clearly all in, going for a playoff run.

Cole Hamels Traded to the Rangers

One of the biggest names that everyone has been waiting to get traded was Phillies lefty, Cole Hamels (31)...And by doing so, the move would be an "all in" sign of the Phillies doing a total rebuild...And with what the Texas Ranger sent back to Philly in this deal, along with some of the young talent the Phillies have...This rebuild could be moving at a faster pace then some expected...

Triple-A pitchers Jerad Eickhoff (25) and Alec Asher (23)...Double-A pitcher Jake Thompson (21)...Double-A outfielder Nick Williams (21) and..Double-A catcher Jorge Alfardo (22)...The Phillies will also be getting often injured, left handed pitcher, Matt Harrison (29)...

Going along with Hamels to Texas will be  reliever Jake Diekman (28)....

Rangers fans have to be happy with this sign that they are going for it...And honestly, you never know how prospects are going to pan out...But for a rebuilding club, 5 prospects is a decent haul...

What will be the next move?

Where is Price going?

The Trade that Wasn't

The famous line is, "There's no crying in baseball!"

I guess Wilmer Flores didn't get that memo...Wednesday night, word broke out through social media that Flores and injured pitcher Zach Wheeler were being traded to the Brewers for OF Carlos Gomez...There was even a picture posted on Instagram of Gomez celebrating the trade and saying goodbye with Brewers teammates...

Word had reached the crowd at Citi Field as they rose to their feet and cheered Flores for what was expected to be his last at-bat in a Mets uniform...Flores has been with the Mets since they signed him at 16 years old...He went to leave the game, and was sent back out to the field...He proceeded to fight back tears throughout the rest of the game...Social media was going insane bashing the Mets for leaving him in the game...

Eventually his manager Terry Collins informed him, there was no trade...And in his post game press conference, Collins was heated discussing the situation...Stating that "Well until some one tells me he's been traded, he's gotta hit!"

Then Mets GM Sandy Alderson said there is no trade...And tried to act like there never was a trade, but there was clearly a trade in the works...Many have started speculating that it's based off of medical information about Wheeler, who had Tommy John Surgery in March...But I think it has something to do with Gomez...

MLB.com Mets beat writer, Anthony DiComo tweeted this out just a few minute ago...

"I want to be perfectly clear because I've herad this from all angles now; the trade was DONE, pending medicals, And now it's not happening. Not happening tonight, not happening tomorrow, not happening Friday. Carlos Gomez will not be a Met.

Like I said a couple nights ago when Tulowitzki was traded...this is going to be  a crazy trade deadline week!

Class and Loyalty aren't Dead Yet in Sports

As the MLB trade deadline approaches, teams have shown some interest in Cleveland Indians utility man, Mike Aviles...The guy has played 2B, 3B, SS, and OF, and he plays well when he gets in there...But in a rare show of class and loyalty to a player and his family the Cleveland Indians have decided that they will not move Aviles since his 4 year old daughter is going through cancer treatment...

Adriana was diagnosed in May, and the organization has been very supportive of the Aviles family's needs...Twice he has been placed on the Family Medical Emergency List, and once on the Restricted List so that he could be with his daughter through these tough times...

When word got out in May of Adriana's diagnosis, Indians players, coaches, and the owner got together and shaved their heads in support of her...

Here they are rocking their Team Adriana shirts!

Thursday manager Terry Francona confirmed that even if teams are targeting Aviles, who will be w free agent after this season, that the Indians won't put him and his family in that type of difficult situation...

“We’re trying to be pretty respectful to Mike and his family stuff. We haven't spoken too much about it other than just to kind of maybe explain why he hasn't been here and stuff like that. ... I don't think, because of the situation Mike's in, because of his family situation that [general manager Chris Antonetti] would ever do that.”

In today's sports world, when so many athletes seem to be just out for themselves, following an example often set by owners and league officials, it's quite refreshing to see this type of example being set by the Indians...Yes, I wish they were having a better season...But how they have treated the Aviles family shows that they get it...There are things more important then the business of Baseball.

Penguins Making More Moves

There has been much speculation about the Penguins making another trade this offseason, after making the Phil Kessel trade with Toronto...Today they moved center, Brandon Sutter and a 2016 third round pick to Vancouver for Forward Nick Bonino, and Defenseman, Adam Clendening, and a 2016 second round pick...

Sutter has a year left on a contract that is a $3.3 million cap hit...Bonino is signed through the 2016-2017 season at an annual cap hit of $1.9 million...The two have similar offensive numbers and both play solid defense...The Penguins feel Clendening, who only has 21 NHL games under his belt, still has plenty of upside and expect him to be in their top 7 defensemen this season...

Then with the money they freed up, the Penguins signed forward, Eric Fehr to a three year, $6 million contarct...Fehr is a big, strong player who has put up 177 points in 454 NHL games, most with Washington.

Troy Tulowitzki Traded to Toronto

(you like how I did the all "T" thing in the Title!)

News broke late Monday night that the Colorado Rockies traded star Shortstop, Troy Tulowitzki and reliever LaTroy Hawkins to the Blue Jays for Jose Reyes and a couple minor leaguers...One minor league players that has been named, is Miguel Castro, a 20 year old RHP...

With 2 years and $44 million left on his contract, many are expecting Reyes to get flipped in another deal by the Rockies...They have a highly regarded, 22 year old, SS in triple-A, named Trevor Story, who they can bump up to the big-leagues...

Tulowitzki will pickup a $2 million "assignment bonus" and a full no-trade clause...

That's all we know for now...

A couple other trades happened Monday...

OF, Shane Victorino was traded from Boston to the Angels for INF, Josh Rutledge...The Red Sox will also be sending some cash to get rid of Victorino...

Oakland traded right-handed reliever Tyler Clippard and cash to the Mets for 20 year old right-hander Casey Meisner...

This is just the beginning of what may be a very interesting week, leading up to the MLB trade-deadline.

The NFL has a Problem....

And it seems like a Black problem....

One in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime...That is a sad, true, and frightening fact...And just like all walks of life, the NFL has too many offenders...In the last 15 years, there have been 96 reported cases of domestic violence being committed by NFL players...Of those 96 case, 94 of the offenders are Black...

In this time we are living in, where there seems to be so much racial tension floating through our media, many people don't want to talk about this...People are so afraid of offending others, that no one wants to have a real conversation...Well, I find it offensive that guys are beating the shit out of women...We all heard about Ray Rice...We hear things here and there...People seem to have forgotten the unresolved case of Dez Bryant hitting his mom...This shit is crazy...

In some of these cases, the abuse has happened in front of children...Ray McDonald hit a woman while she was holding a baby...Before that he roughed up his pregnant fiance...

There are cases of choking a pregnant woman...Punches to the face...Punches to the stomach...Thrown down stairs...Thrown to the ground...Beatings of all kinds...And folks, that's just some of the Domestic violence stuff...HERE is the NFL Arrest Database...799 in 15 years...It's terrifying...

Now you may be thinking the numbers are skewed because the NFL is made up of 66% Black players...Well the league is about 30% White...Well if Domestic Violence was distributed evenly (that sounds fucked up) then White players should account for 32 of these incidents...But they don't...Why?

I know domestic violence isn't just a Black problem...It is going on every minute of every day, in homes of all races and religions...I know my black neighbor across the street doesn't beat his wife or kids...I sometimes worry if his white wife is going to whoop his ass though!

On average in the U.S. nearly 20 people a minute are physical abused by an intimate partner...And children around abuse are greatly affected...

  • More than 3 million children witness domestic violence in their homes every year.
  • Children who live in homes where there is domestic violence also suffer abuse or neglect at high rates (30% to 60%).
  • Children exposed to domestic violence at home are more likely to have health problems, including becoming sick more often, having frequent headaches or stomachaches, and being more tired and lethargic.
  • Children are more likely to intervene when they witness severe violence against a parent – which can place a child at great risk for injury or even death.

So why is it such a problem with Black players in the NFL...I heard one radio host go on and on about how black players "respect women" and "wouldn't raise their hands to women," because they were "raised by their Mothers and Grandmothers"...Well 94 out of 96 women beaters in the NFL are Black, so I'm not sure if that theory works...Maybe it's because so many Black players were raised by their Mothers and Grandmothers...Maybe because they didn't have a father around to teach them not to hit women...

I don't know, maybe being raised by only women drove them to a point where they don't want to be told what to do or not do, by a woman anymore...I don't know...The same radio host who said that shit was also the same guy who after the Ray Rice story broke, suggested that women watch what they say, and not "incite" or "provoke" men...Yeah, Mr. Stephen A. Smith is all over the place!

It also doesn't help the Goodell stepped into the Commish job and was going to be Mr. Tough on crime...His record so far has suggested that he is tougher on smoking pot and equipment violation then he is on Domestic Violence, and assault...Based off that database, he should get on the DUI problem too...Yes, after public backlash he got tougher on Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson, but that was only after everyone in the world saw what a helluva punch Rice threw...

The NFL needs to rewrite their policy, and make it tougher...Stupid fucking commercials telling football fans not to beat their wives or children are nice and all, but you should really be working on cleaning up your own house first...

But that doesn't fix the problem entirely...The problem starts at home, with raising kids...My son is 10...He knows not to hit a woman...He knows I would never hit my wife/his mother...He also knows, if some dickhead hits one of his sisters, he'll be helping me dump a body in the lake.

That is the only resolution I can come up with for this post...It starts at home, with how you raise your kids...And it's easier to raise kids with two parents involved in their lives...

If you have any thoughts, or theories on these frightening numbers, please share them.

Rangers Re-sign Stepan

Just hours before they were set to have their arbitration hearing, the New York Rangers and restricted free-agent center, Derek Stepan agreed on terms of a 6 year deal...$39 million for six years...$6.5 million...Not a bad agreement since Stepan (25) was heading into the arbitration looking for $7.25 million yearly, and the Rangers were offering $5.2 million...

Besides being a key member to the Rangers lineup, it was the ridiculous contract that Buffalo gave Ryan O'Reilly, that was forcing this to arbitration if the Rangers didn't pay up...Stepan is a solid two-way center, who has better numbers the O'Reilly...

More info backing up this signing...Stepan is the first New York Rangers' to put up 50 or more points in 3 consecutive seasons, since Wayne Gretzky...

This past season Stepan finished 5th or higher in all of the following team stats...Assists, Points, Game-Winning Goals, Plus/Minus rating, Shots on Goal, Power Play Goals, Power Play Assists, Power Play Points, Short-handed Goals, Short-handed Assists, and Short-handed Points...

The only other player to do that was Chicago's Jonathan Toews...

Stepan is a key piece for this team to continue doing what they've been doing...But they have hardly any room under the cap now...I would like to see them move defenseman Dan Boyle, but I'm not sure anyone wants that old man and his contract...An easier contract to move would be defenseman, Kevin Klein who just had his best season of his career, and is cap hit just under $3 million...

Rangers fans are happy we got Stepan locked up, along with other key restricted free agents, JT Miller, Jesper Fast, and Emerson Etem...But a bit of cap wiggle room will help too.

Monday Moaning

Did you read that fine print? There sure are a lot of pussies out there these days...It doesn't seem to matter who you are, you better watch what you say, because some one is always looking to be offended...This past week, more dolts got in trouble for stupid shit they said, and while I may not agree with what they said, FUCK, I wish people would get a thicker skin...

ESPN pushed Colin Cowherd out the door a little sooner after he basically called all Dominicans stupid, while trying to say managing baseball isn't that tough...The thing is, even people paid to speak, will make a mistake sometimes...And he did try to explain his point...And honestly, if it was on a comedy show, they way he said it, people would have laughed...Yes, of course people would have been offended...

But shit, show me a Dominican MLB player who is a fucking Rhodes Scholar...You can't can you...Nope, because these guys get snatched up when they're in high school with the hope of playing in the majors, and getting out of poverty...We've seen guys lie about their age, just so they won't be considered to old for some one to take a chance on them...

Cowherd fucked up, but if you were looking for him for Baseball knowledge, you have bigger problems...The guy is fucking clueless!

Then WWE make-believe wrestling star, Hulk Hogan was caught on a sex tape saying some racist shit about his daughter fucking black guys...Dip-shit flat-out admitted to being a racist...Hey Hulk, I'm proud of you...It was the first real thing you've done!  So Hogan is racist...Why is anyone shocked that a white guy, as old as my dad is racist...Honestly, I'd be more shocked if a old fucking white guy his age didn't say racist shit about his daughter fucking black guys...

My dad served his country, raised his kids, was a union man...He's one of the smartest people I know...He's a liberal guy, who turned me onto Motown and Jazz...But every time I started dating a different girl, he'd ask me, (half joking) "Is she white?" And while I knew it was wrong, I got it...Christ, my old man took heat because my Mom isn't Irish...I just can't get upset with old white guys saying some dumb shit because it was the way they were raised...

So because of the outrage over what Hogan said, on a fucking sex tape, the WWE responded swiftly, and erased him from everything WWE...Literally, they have been removing all traces of him...And that outrage, well, the only place I really heard any of it coming from was the white-guilt ridden media...

Let me ask a question....What the hell happened to "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will never hurt me!"

Oh, I see...Ladies forgot to pack their big girl panties, and men are growing vaginas....

I'm sick of this shit! Really people...You're getting upset by stupid shit being said by Hulk Hogan and Colin Cowherd...Not to mention the new and exciting idiot shit Donald Trump is saying every day in this godforsaken soundbite world we are in...What do Donald trump, Colin Cowherd, and Hulk Hogan have in common?  They're all assholes! Why do you care about what they say!?!

-Up at the University of North Dakota, the president there is taking heat from the public...You see after some bullshit, trumped up outrage from the PC police, the NCAA forced North Dakota to drop their Fighting Sioux nickname...

That was a sweet fucking jersey!

The NCAA then forced a 3 year period of no nickname on the school...So the a list of possible nicknames was created, and has been whittled down, with these shitty nicknames on the short list..."Fighting Hawks"..."Nodaks"..."North Stars..."Roughriders"..."Sundogs"...One of the things taken off was the idea of staying, as-is...No Nickname...Just continue on as North Dakota...

To me, that's the best way to go...Those fuckers rip your schools nickname away, fuck'em...Take that stand, 'we're the Fighting Sioux, or we're nothing!'

But University douchebag officials want a nickname...They talk about having cheers/chants/songs with a new nickname...Oh, and don't forget selling all new gear to loyal fans, students, and alumni...Shit heads!  Being just flat-out North Dakota, has more class and shows a level of respect to a proud past, that cant be replaced with a new shitty nickname and logo...

-In closing, the PC shit has to stop...Everyone has to knuckle-up and stop being offended by everything that may make them uncomfortable...Stop going after people's jobs because they made a mistake...Not everyone thinks like you, that's what makes this country great, and not a bunch of robots...Shit's driving me crazy...Fuck the diet, I want a cupcake!

Have a week!

Royals Acquire Cueto from Reds

While trade rumors swirled Saturday night Red's starter, Johnny Cueto, didn't let it bother him as he went out and threw 8 scoreless innings against the Rockies...He now has a 2.62 ERA with a 120/29 Strikeout to Walk Ratio, in 130 and 2/3 inninngs...

Cueto, (29) is an impending free-agent, and he is also, now a member of the Kansas City Royals...The deal was looking done Saturday, until at least one player in the package wasn't cleared medically...

All the details are not out yet, but it is being said that young left handed pitchers, Brandon Finnegan, and Sean Manaea are possibly involved...

I will add more, when more comes in...

Capitals and Holtby Reach a Deal

Thursday the Holtby and the Capitals had an arbitration hearing...Today, before the Arbitrator had reached his decision, the Capitals and Holtby agreed a deal that all felt was good for the team, and Holtby...

Five years, $30.5 million...This will make Holtby, 25 years old, a $6.1 million cap hit for the next 5 years...The seventh highest cap hit amongst goalies in the NHL, behind Henrik Lundqvist (NY Ranger), Sergei Bobrosky (Columbus), Tuukka Rask (Boston) , Pekka Rinne (Nashville), Carey Price (Montreal), and Cam Ward (Carolina)...

Last seaon, Holtby had his best season of his career, posting a 2.22 GAA, with a .923 save %...41 victories, with 9 shutouts in 73 games...

Caps GM, Brian MacLellan said, "Braden emerged as a top NHL goaltender and we are pleased to sign him to a long-term contract. We feel Braden is just entering his prime and in his young career has already established himself as one of the best goaltenders in the history of our franchise."

Kazmir Traded to Houston

The Oakland A's have made their first move, in what some expect to be many...They have sent 31 year old, left-handed starter, Scott Kazmir to his hometown Houston Astros...

The Astros have been an exciting first half surprise, and I wasn't sure if they would be buyers, or just hold steady with their youth-driven building process...In the deal Houston gave up highly-touted cather, Jacob Nottingham,(20) and right handed pitcher Daniel Megden (22)...Both were on the Atros higher level single-A roster...

Kazmir with a 5-5 record and 2.38 ERA, was slated to start Thursday night against Toronto...Instead he will be joining his new team Friday in Kansas City...

A's GM, Billy Beane said he wasn't actively shopping Kazmir...(not sure how true that is)...But said after the Houston put Nottingham on the table, the trade "came together pretty quick."

Maple Leafs Have a GM

New Jersey Devils President, Lou Lamoriello, who stepped aside as GM in May, when Ray Shero was hired, has now resigned from his post from the Devils...After 28 years and 3 Stanley Cups, Lamoriello is moving on to a much bigger challenege...

Shortly after leaving the Devils, Lou Lamoriello was announced as the the new GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs...He is the 16th GM in Maple Leafs history...In his 28 years in New Jersey, the Devils went to the playoffs 21 of those seasons...Besides being President and GM for the Devils, he also served as Interim Head Coach three times...

Lamoriello also served as GM for Team USA in 1996 when they won the World Championship, and in 1998 for the Olympics...He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in the "Builders" category in 2009...

Another accomplishment the hockey world is grateful for, was Lamoriello aggressively going after Viacheslav Fetisov, and spending much time and money communicating with him, and dealing with the Soviet government, to allow Fetisov to come to the NHL, which opened the door for the many Soviet players who followed.

Now, with President Brendan Shanahan, and new head coach, Mike Babcock, Lamoriello adds more legitimacy to the Maple Leafs organization which has been in shambles, and a loser for too long...The culture change in Toronto continues...With Babcock and Lamoriello, the winning can't be too far away for Leafs fans...Right?

Monday Moaning

Yeah, that's about all the golf you're going to get out of me...

Yes The British Open is going on and set to finish this fine Monday...But I had to walk away...The British Open is pretty mush the only Golf Tournament that I ever watch any of...The old courses are beautiful...The bunkers are legit bunkers...And what I always loved about watching the Open was the Golfers battling the weather...So Friday things were delayed due to some serious rain...I'd be pissed if it was a drizzle, but this shit was real...But then Saturday morning I popped it on, and they were delayed because of the wind...

Fuck you, you fucking pussies! The wind at St. Andrews is the great equalizer...You aren't going up against the other golfers, you're going up against the wind...I have and always will, refuse to call Golf a sport...Why? Because there is no defense...No one is trying to stop you from doing your thing...At least at the British Open you might face a little defense from Mother Nature...

I don't care that some gusts got up to 40 mph...You've got some high-tech clubs made out of some substance no regular hacks can afford to buy, and you rip it 300 feet...Nut up and take on some of that wind! Golfers, your game will never be a sport...It's a game...A hobby...

-Next...Fuck ESPN...(guess this gonna be one of those angry Monday Moanings)...Last week was the ESPY's, a bullshit event I have never watched...unfortunately while running my personal twitter along with The Gab's twitter account @yougabsports, it was hard not to get hammered with reports and updates on the ESPY's...Which made it hard for me not to get hammered! All this nonsense was covered already, like LeBron James winning for best championship performance...HE FUCKING LOST!

But the whole Bruce Jenner in a dress publicity stunt was the biggest pile of crap...Yes, I call him Bruce, because he won't cut his dick off...I support civil rights for all...Do who you want, be who you want...But the fact that everyone is expected to treat this guy/gal with kid gloves is ridiculous...Besides that, where the fuck is Chaz Bono's award for courage...She/he did this whole trans thing, all the way, a few years ago...Did it because that's what he felt and wanted to do, with no fucking grandstanding...No media whore bullshit...And no protection wrapped around him by the PC police and media...

Then I read Jenner's speech...This fucker was acting like he is the new voice of women, while belittling women, like when he told the U.S. Women's Soccer team, "You clean up well!" FUCK OFF BRUCE!  So much of what I feel about this topic was summed up in a short clip from the Opie and Jim Norton Show, with guest DL Hughley...

-Okay...Next...I guess I have to call Surfing a sport after seeing surfer Mick Fanning have a shark play defense against him, and not let him surf...

Love the total honesty of the moment with the announcer losing it and swearing on air...Fanning was fine this time...They called off the competition after that...Now I've never been one to swim, and I really have a thing about being under water...Especially the ocean...Here's a solid rule to live by...If the fish come out of the water, I can eat them...They've wiggled into my life-space...If I go into the water, their life-space, they can eat me...

-Now, the last topic...Just like Jenner, it's a topic I'm sick of hearing about...But after some details slipped out this weekend, I think we will have less people defending this fucking asshole...Yes, I'm talking about Comedy legend, actor, and high horse riding asshole, and alleged rapist, Bill Cosby...I'm at the point where I'm just hoping he'll die already...That's how fucking sick and tired I am of this asshole!

And we should have known...He put it out there for all of us years ago...He's been lacing shit for ever...

Boy he snatched that sauce up quick from little Kenny...Didn't want Kenny turning out Rudy's ass just yet I guess...

FUCK BILL COSBY!  Drug, and fuck him right in the ass...

That's it...Okay, I lied at the top about that being the only golf I'd share...There is a bit more that has just been added to the EYE CANDY PAGE...

Have a week.

T.J. Oshie is First Team All-Class

Americans, especially those who aren't full time hockey nuts like me, started falling in love with T.J. Oshie after his impressive shootout performance against Russsia in the Sochi Olympics...

That was just a taste of his skills that the fans in St. Louis and North Dakota already knew about...Then, back in March I shared THIS video of Oshie making a wish come true for a fan...

And then, I had posted on July 6th about Oshie being traded from the Blues to the Capiltals...And I shared the following video of one of his biggest fans...

Yes, Libby Lu was crushed by the Oshie trade, but was also very intersted in the pool he was going to have at the home he was building...But with being traded, having a home built, and getting prepared for his wedding, Oshie still kept his word, and sent Libby Lu a T.J. Oshie Capitals jersey, plus a bunch of other gear!

Look at that smile...That excitement...That's what a class act does...It doesn't matter where Oshie plays throughout the rest of his career...It doesn't matter if he scores 10 goals or 40 goals a season...It doesn't matter if he wins a Cup or not...This little girl, Libby Lu will be a fan of his for life...And she'll be a Hockey fan for life, because T.J. Oshie went that extra mile...He didn't just give lip-service for ESPN...He backed it up, just as he does on the ice...

Our sports world needs mor guys like T.J. Oshie...

And yeah, he's pretty bad-ass on the ice too...

Franchise Four Announced

So Major League Baseball let fans vote on something else besides the All-Star teams...Fans got to go online and pick their favorite team's "Franchise Four"...You teams Mount Rushmore basically...And while fans didn't totally blow it, they did do some idiot shit...

Franchise Four winners were selected from a list of 8 nominees from each franchise chosen by official MLB historian, John Thorn and representatives from the Elias Sports Bureau, MLB.com, MLB Network, and the Baseball Writers' Association of America...So, some of the idiot shit is the fault of these jokers as well...

Examples of idiot stuff: With all the greats from the San Francisco/NY Giants, some how Buster Posey was picked...He's an excellent player, but one of the Giants top 4...Really? Worse, Paul Goldschmidt from Arizona...The guy is just in his 4th full season...Yeah, they don't have a huge history, but a guy 4 years in with one huge year, and having another huge one this year...Still seems premature...

Speaking of premature...Giancarlo Stanton from the Marlins...Really!?! They guy has a .270 career batting average...That is just sad folks...Real sad, like Tampa Bay sad...Tampa Bay's history is so weak, Ben Zobrist was picked!

Then you have teams with huge and rich history...the Dodgers and Yankees, can't argue those at all, and almost feel like if you gave them 8 instead of 4 it would be justified...I think White Sox fans really screwed up not putting Eddie Collins...And Red Sox fans look like dolts not putting Cy Young in there...You know, just 511...

Then comes my hometown Indians...Bob Feller felt like a no-brainer...I was proud to see Tris Speaker in there (often underrated)...Then Jim Thome and Omar Vizquel...I always sang the praises of Vizquel for his great defense, and becoming a good hitter...He was steal from Seattle, in which the Tribe gave up Felix Fermin...And yes, those two guys were huge in the 90's...And fans loved them...I get it...And Thome has 612 HR's so that looks sexy...But Vizquel (.272 avg...80 HR's...951 RBI) over Larry Doby? Larry Doby (.283 avg...253 HR's...970 RBI)...the second black in Baseball, first in the American League...Or over Earl Averill (.318 avg...238 HR's...1164 RBI)...But worse then that, Nap Lajoie was not picked...A .339 avg...80 HR's and 1599 RBI...That folks is a sin...The team was at one time named the Naps in honor of their second baseman/manager...

Fan voting is and always be flawed, because many fans don't know all their history, and are blinded by their favorites....

MLB got it Right!

Ok, They got two things right! Because Ms. Doughnut lick'er wont be performing at the All-Star game, after her doughnut licking routine, following by saying she hates America...Mind you, if anyone would have paid attention to the video, when she said, "I hate Americans," she was referencing the fact that we love our fattening foods, as a tray of over the top doughnuts was put in front of her...She was calling us gluttons, and was she really that wrong?   But then again we are living in a hyper-sensitive world where every one is offended by any thought that isn't theirs...

And when I heard Ariana Grande was licking donuts, I had a different visual, and couldn't understand why people were upset...

Well this post has already spun off course!

The other thing MLB got right was last night's Home Run Derby contest...They changed the format, setting it up in a single elimination, bracket style...But even better, they added a clock...Instead of ten outs, you are on the clock...4 minutes, with a 45 second timeout if and when the batter chooses to use it...Also you earned 30 seconds of bonus time if you put two (minimum) HR's out 425 feet...

These changes made the whole thing not as long and drawn out...It also added excitement because the hitters were not only battling their opponent, but also the clock...And the winner, as I called it, was the Cincinnati Reds' Todd Frazier...He seemed to feed off the crowd, and boy did he love the drama, as each round he was beating his opponent in the last second...In the Final he tied it in the final seconds, and finished it 3 seconds into Bonus Time...

Over the years I have lost interest in the Home Run Derby...Sometimes I'd watch the beginning, but then turn it off...It just got boring...Last night was the first time I have watched the whole thing, in a long time...The drama of Frazier, in front of his hometown fans, taking it to the last second, along with the new rule changes, gave the Home Run Derby a whole new feel...A new energy...

Most change that are made within Baseball, I tend to fight...But not this one...I love it...They got it right...Now don't screw it up!

Monday Moaning

Now that's some motivation to workout!  Although, if she was at my gym, I'm not sure I'd be working out the areas that need it most!

But I'll get back to exercise in a minute...

After last week, I thought I'd be done covering major NHL moves, but I forgot what a financial pinch the Chicago Blackhawks are in...There was a lot of talk that 33 year old F- Patrick Sharp would be traded, and it finally happened Friday night...Sharp who has been a leader on and off the ice during this run of the Blackhawks that has brought 3 Stanley Cups...Benefiting from Sharp's experience and skill will be the Dallas Stars...Along with Sharp, Chicago also sent prospect D- Stephen Johns...In return the Blackhawks get D- Trevor Daley and F- Ryan Garbutt...with this deal, the 'Hawks also free up $2.5 million per year for the next couple years...

First off, clear cut winner in this deal is Dallas...Experience, skill, grit, leader, 3 rings...While Johns is a prospect, he's a prospect who could possibly find his why into the lineup this coming season at some point...

Dallas fans may feel they have gotten weaker/thinner at D, the truth is, Daley was forced into playing as a top-pair defensman...He isn't that...He isn't a D-man who should be going against another teams top line always and racking up more then 22 minutes a game...He'll be better off in Chicago...I predict his production will go up...

Dallas should look at making a move (signing or trade) for a veteran D-man...33 year old Johnny Oduya (spent last 3 and a half seasons with Chicago) is the top free-agent D-man left out there, with Chicago trying to figure out a way to get him back...Buffalo is also trying to make a push for him...

Garbutt is a 29 year old grinder/agitator...He throws a lot of shots on goal, but only racked up 8 goals in 67 game last year...He's a 29 year old version of the Blackhawks 23 year old pest, Andrew Shaw...There are rumbling in Chicago that they should look at moving Shaw who is making $1.5 million right now, compared too the $900,000 cap hit Garbutt brings...

Dallas knew Chicago was in a tight spot...The whole NHL knew it...It's a salary cap world, and you aren't going to win trades, when you are making solely to free up cap space...And I'm not even sure the 'Hawks will break even on this one...

- Moving on....The MLB All-Star game is upon us, and Monday night is the Home Run Derby...MLB loves pushing this every year, and they have tweaked it this year in hopes that it won't start boring us...This year they participants are setup in a single elimination, bracket format...

Here's my prediction...The Final will be Bryant vs. Frazier...And Frazier will make the hometown fans proud...Who do you got?

- Now I mentioned something about exercise...Oh, yeah, that lovely lady up top...Yes, she could motivate me...

But recently my wife has motivated me as well...We're both overweight...We've watched a couple movies about health and food, and started buying as much organic stuff as possible, which is expensive as fuck...We've been having a juice for two meals a day...Fresh, organic fruits and veggies, juiced...Mmmm, delicious! They aren't gross, but it's been tough cutting some of the crap out...And yes, I've been hitting the exercise bike every day, and plan on mixing in more exercise during the week...I may checkout the local fitness center, to see if they have any trainers like that hottie up top...So far my wife has lost 10 pounds in two weeks...I've lost 5...

- Last week when the story/video of Florida State QB De'Andrea Johnson hitting a female in a bar broke, it got me thinking...What was happening there?  What did she say?  What did he say?  Why did she take a swing at him first?  A lot of times when these things happen, those types of questions aren't asked...I'm not saying it's okay to hit women...It's not...If that was my daughter, I'd kill the prick...Right now they'd be searching for the bits of his body...So, I'm not saying she deserved to get hit...But we don't know really know all of what happened...And all these thoughts got me thinking about an epic Bill Burr bit...

There's some food for thought....Food....Mmmm...That's it for now, gotta hit the bike, instead of eating a bag of chips!

Have a week.

Ken Stabler Dead at 69

The Raiders confirmed Thursday that iconic Quarterback Ken Stabler has died at the age of 69...The University of Alabama released a statement from the family which said Stabler died from Colon Cancer...

In a statement from John Madde, his former Raiders coach, Madden said,

"I've often said, If I had one drive to win a game to this day, and I had a quarterback to pick, I would pick Kenny.

Snake was a lot cooler than I was. He was a perfect quarterback and a perfect Raider.

When you think about the Raiders you think about Ken Stabler. Kenny loved life. It is a sad day for all Raiders."

The left-handed QB was well known for being steady in the clutch, and one of the leagues most accurate passers...In his pro career, Stabler played 184 games, had 2,270 completions, for 27,938 yards...with 194 TD's...He also had 13 playoff games with 203 completions, 2,641 yards, and 19 TD's...And don't forget his Super Bowl XI win...

A statement from his family said,

"He was a kind, generous and unselfish man, never turning down an autograph request or an opportunity to help someone in need. A great quarterback, he was an even greater father to his three girls and grandfather to his three 'grand snakes,' "

Stabler leaves behind three daughters, Kendra, Alexa, and Marissa.
