Best College Football Uniforms (2021)

Last week ESPN put out their list of "best college football uniforms" and it wasn't that surprising. They are the "world wide leader"...Leader of lazy sports coverage. You could see their top 5 coming a mile away and it didn't really matter the order.

1. Notre Dame

2. Michigan

3. Penn State

4. USC

5. Oregon

Now, as some of you may know, I'm a huge Notre Dame fan and don't have an argument with that. But other than Oregon this list is fresh out of the 1980's. It's the old guard that so many in the media want to be relevant again. USC is crap and hasn't been much since Pete Carroll left them in a NCAA sanctions mess.

Penn State is still loved by ESPN for all that bonus content they gave them from Sandusky being a pedophile and good ole Joe Paterno and the PSU administration trying to hide as much as they could.

Then there's Michigan. That program is just garbage. Once an always competitive, powerhouse program, now many teams look at that game on their schedule and don't sweat it.

And of course, Notre Dame. They keep themselves relevant by having a huge fanbase, and remaining not 100% locked into a conference. They can run with the teams in the ACC, Big Ten, PAC 12 and the dying Big 12, but they are outmatched if they run into a damn SEC team.

ESPN's list felt like holding onto the good ole days, and narrow sighted...Like they don't actually pay attention to the vast majority of college football. So screw them! Here's my list.

1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish:

Ok, so maybe I sound like an asshole after all that and then going with ND, but I told you I was a huge Irish fan and their classic uniforms are still the shit!

And when they once a season break out a GREEN jersey, that shit is awesome!

I will always love the all gold, nothing on it helmet, but I have to say, this Shamrock version below was awesome to see and I'd love to see them use regularly.

2. Kansas State Wildcats:

The Wildcats have become one of my favorite programs to watch. They have a great fanbase, student-body and traditions installed in their program. They're gritty team that doesn't have the recruiting power of the the Big 12's "elite" programs, Oklahoma and Texas.

Purple, Silver and White, with a great logo. The Silver has that Dallas Cowboys thing where the Purple bleeds into it and makes it an off-silver.

KSU has also mixed in White helmets and pants that that make it a tight and clean look.

3. Ohio University Bobcats:

No, not Ohio State! There's no way I'm doing this list and not getting some MACtion in here!

The Bobcats rock a traditional style uniform  with only two colors, Green and White, with a crisp White helmet with simply OHIO written on it's sides and two green stripes with white in between.

The Bobcats occasionally mix in a green helmet in the same style.

Like many other Programs they have produced a couple different versions of a "Blackout" uniform. Black jersey, pants and helmet. The helmet holds onto the the same style but the green pops from the black as it is a metallic green.

ESPN's list went with old school big name programs. Clearly I have no problem an old school look/style, but mine look good. Fuck Penn State's boring ass shit and USC's ugly yellow (not gold) and whatever color red that is? What is it called, O.J. Simpson Bloodstain?

4. Georgia Bulldogs:

Look at that. Red, White, Black, light gray pants on the Black Jersey uniform. Strong, powerful, bold colors and the iconic oval "G" helmet logo. What's the lingo these days. Dope? Fire? Tight? This shit is tight! or whatever the fuck the kids are saying these days.

Yeah, that's a spiked dog collar design on the Black jersey!

5. Washington Huskies:

The Huskies at home rock Purple Jerseys with white numbers trimmed in Gold. The sleeves have 2 lighter shade of purple stripes. Gold pants. Gold Helmet with a Purple "W" on both sides, Purple facemask, and a Purple-White-Purple tri-stripe down the middle of the helmet.

On the road the helmet is the same, the jersey is White with Purple numbers, the standard purple stripe flanked by two lighter shade purple stripes on the sleeves. I have also seen all white uniforms with the Helmets colors reversed.

The Huskies also have a "Blackout" uniform, embracing the Huskies name.

Honorable Mention:

Washington State Cougars:

The Cougars have a great logo. Crappy team most of the time, but a loyal fanbase that loves to represent that great logo. The only problem with the uniforms, is they have so many options, they can screw themselves up mixing and matching.

Maybe they should spend more time on the football and less time on what to wear!

Another team that gets an Honorable mention, was actually on ESPN's list.

The Oregon Ducks:

The Ducks are famous for the Nike uniforms that are different every week. They say that is being scaled back and these are what we should expect this year, but it's Oregon. At some point we will see black, we will see a chromed out helmet, some gray somewhere, a darker shade of green. They can't stop themselves. I hope I'm right, because this crop or Oregon uniforms is pretty boring for them.

Feel free to let me know what your favorites are.

Fuck Michigan, Penn State and USC!

Monday Moaning

So, I swore off the NFL last year...And I have held my ground pretty firmly...But being in this sports blogging website business, I do tend to read, and hear, and keep an eye on the "trending" shit...Like the New England Patriots, Tom Brady, and Bill Belichick's 'Fuck You Tour' of the NFL...Kinda love that...Loved seeing they handed that dick-bag Greg Hardy and the Cowboys a 30-6 loss!

I have to ask...Hey Hardy....How the fuck does Brady's dick taste!?!

Besides all the rings, and records, there's the making a baby with the hot actress...

And then there's the Super Model wife...

All Hardy (a woman beater) has is a rap sheet and ...Ummm...Well a viral video about what a piece of shit he is!

-Moving along...I didn't do to well on my college football pick'em this weekend...The worst week I've had so far this year...Oh well, shit weeks happen...But I did notice something while watching games and scores...Ohio State only covered the spread versus Virginia Tech, which is something I pointed out in week one, that they cover in revenge games...But the rest of their games, they've been playing like a team that thinks they can just flip a switch, and boom...They'll win...Easy enough against Maryland, Western Michigan, and Northern Illinois...Well, it wasn't even that easy against Northern Illinois...

I wasn't sold on Michigan's dominating last couple wins, because, just like Ohio State, they weren't playing heavy hitters...But after the WOLVERINES abused what has looked like a solid Northwestern team, the Buckeyes better get their shit together before taking on Michigan....Michigan State has looked the same as Ohio State...They need to get their heads out of their asses...The big difference is MSU is playing the right QB...While I think Meyer made a mistake going with Jones...That kid has looked like crap this year...

-My Notre Dame Fighting Irish got back on track beating Navy Saturday...(Covered the spread as I predicted)...But while some have said they still have a shot at the playoffs if they win out, I have to disagree...While their schedule didn't look too weak at the start of the year, it does now...The ACC teams on the schedule, except Clemson, all look like shit...USC has fallen apart, and their coach just took a leave of absence...Texas is junk...And Stanford is solid, but won't carry a enough weight...

- The NHL season started, and we got our first taste of the new, 3 on 3 overtime...I voiced my displeasure about THIS back in June....Well, if you have just under 4 minutes to kill, this is what the first 3 on 3 OT looked like...

Yes, yes, yes...It was a fast paced, end to end action...Oh so thrilling....But it's a totally different game then what got those teams to that point...It's fucking stupid...And all the dicks out there who complain about the games going to a shootout to get the winner...Look what you got...You basically got a shootout decision...That game came down to a couple a one on one breakaways...Way to go, you got the same shit!

Fucking 3 on 3 can eat my ass!

- That's it for now...You won't see me much, as the big move is happening this week...Lots to do...Lots of stress...Lots of excitement...

Have a week...

The Beeze's College Football Pick'em (week 6)

While the Cheerleaders looked okay, the Georgia Bulldogs fell flat on their face against Alabama last week...Typical of a Mark Richt team...Can they bounce back?  Let's see....

- Georgia at Tennessee....

The Volunteers are 4-12 over the last few years hosting SEC rivals...Georgia has won the 5 straight against Tennessee...And that streak will go to 6...Now that there is no pressure, the Bulldogs will get back on track and roll Tennessee...Take Georgia minus the 3 points...

- Washington at USC  (Thursday night)....

Seriously, I have no faith that the Huskies will win this game...But they are getting 17 points...I like +17 points in this game...Take the Huskies with the points as they hang with the Trojans for awhile...

- Oklahoma at Texas  (Dallas)....

Let's be honest...I don't care how big the rivalry crap is...Texas stinks...The program is in shambles...Take the Sooners minus the 17 points...They're going to take the Longhorns apart...(Texas should be getting use to that)

- Miami (Ohio) at Ohio University....

"The Battle of the Bricks"...Homecoming at Ohio....Miami has lost 4 straight in Athens...The Bobcats have won 8 of the last 9 meetings...I like Ohio to win again...But, I'll take Miami plus the 16 points...

- Georgia Tech at Clemson....

the Home team has 9 of the last 10 meetings...GT is 8-4 in the last 11 meetings...They played twice in 2009...Will Clemson have a letdown after the big win against Notre Dame?  Will their defense be able to handle the Yellowjackets offense?  The bookmakers think so, since they have Clemson as a 7 point favorite...I think they will win, but I'll take Georgia Tech plus the 7 points...

-Navy at Notre Dame...

Notre Dame leads this series 75-12-1...They've split the last 4 meetings...Navy never quits, and plays tough...They always make the Irish earn it...They will again...But I see the Irish getting back on track after last week's loss...Take ND minus the 14 points...

- Northwestern at Michigan...

Northwestern is 1-21 in Ann Arbor...That is horrible...just horrible...How could I even consider picking them...Easily...Michigan beat up on Maryland last week...Let's not forget, this isn't lacrosse...Bowling Green spanked Maryland...Northwestern will give Michigan a tough fight and may take it...Take Northwestern plus the 7.5 points...

- East Carolina at BYU...

This is ECU's longest regular season road trip since 1993...BYU is 19-5 versus current AAC teams...That includes being 9-0 at home against those teams...Tough to go against that....I'll take East Carolina plus the 8 points...

- Miami at Florida State...

The last 9 meetings, the visitor is 7-2...11 of the last 14 games have been decided by a TD or less...All that, combined with me having all the confidence that Everett Golson is due for one of his turnover filled games...Take Miami plus the 9 points...

- Cal at Utah....

I have no stats or facts here...I just don't care...I have bought all in with the Utah Utes...Take Utah minus the 7 points...

Good luck...Beat the bookie!

The Beeze's College Football Pick'em (week 4)

Last week I won 3...lost 1...and 1 push...

Let's see what we do this week...

- BYU at Michigan....

Okay, Michigan who isn't overly impressive, while the home team, is a 6.5 point favorite...I think that is crazy...I think BYU bounce back from their loss to UCLA last week...Take BYU plus the 6.5 points

- Georgia Tech at Duke...

Duke is 3-22 versus the Georgia Tech...It's not going to get better this week...GT is another team looking to bounce back from a tough loss...Take the Yellow Jackets minus the 7.5 points...

-Bowling Green at Purdue...

This week the Falcons are the favorite...It doesn't matter, I'm still taking them...Purdue blows...Bowling Green minus 5.5 points...

- Rice at Baylor....

Baylor has won 6 straight against Rice...And I feel confident that the Bears can take the Owls again...But Baylor doesn't understand what defense is...Take Rice plus the 34.5 points...

- Ohio University at Minnesota...

I don't even need to pull up any stats or history, or any of that bullshit...Minnesota ain't nothing to write home about...Ohio is a solid MAC team...Take the Bobcats plus the 10 points...

- Miss State at Auburn...

Auburn has proven that they walked into the season grossly overrated...yet they are a 3 point favorite....Miss State is 3-11 as a visitor...Can they turn it around? Yes...The Bulldogs will win straight up, but go ahead and take those 3 points too...

- UCLA at Arizon...

The visitor is 3-8...UCLA is 13-23 on the road in versus PAC-12 foes...But in the end it comes down to the better team...I'm going with UCLA minus 3 points.

-Utah at Oregon...

Utah is is 4-9 against ranked teams since joining the PAC-12...This one should be the game to watch...These teams will slug it out...the Utes are better then people expected, and Oregon is good, but not where they have been in past years...Take Utah plus the 12 points...

Good luck...

Beat the Bookie!

The Beeze's College Football Pick'em (week 1)

Good looking form there...

And hopefully this weekly post will help you give it to some one...Like your bookie...Screw on-line gambling...I'm old school...I learned the gambling business when I was a little kid...My dad did some collections for extra money when we were young, and I would go with him to pick up "football tickets" and drop them off on Fridays...He did some gambling himself...and taught me his simple rules...

1. Don't bet the mortgage/rent.
2. Don't bet the grocery money.
3. Don't bet the kids tuition.
4. Don't bet with your heart. (took me a bit to get that)
5. Don't try to recover your loses with one big bet you can't cover/afford.
6. Don't bet on Monday Night Football...It was created for the Bookies.

Now that we have those tips out of the way...Let's get to the games I've picked for this week...(and no I won't be picking any of those cream-puff games...just real games that should be at least slightly competitive.) The lines I'm using are  are as of right now.

- TCU at Minnesota  (Thursday)

TCU is 7-3 in road openers and average a 19 point margin of victory...Last year against Minnesota they forced 5 turnovers.
Minnesota is 17-3 in home openers...They are 12-6 when hosting a non-conference opponent...Over the last three years, they are on a 9-0 run hosting non-conference opponents...That run comes to an end this week...Take TCU minus the points.  (17)

-Michigan at Utah (Thursday)

Utah is 20-4 in home openers...Michigan hasn't started the season with a road victory since 1995...In the last 15 years Michigan is 3-8 in regular season, non-conference away games...I don't care what big mouth Jim Harbaugh says, the Michigan turnaround won't start this week...Take Utah, minus the points... (4.5)

-Washington at Boise State (Friday)

This will be Washington's first time on the Blue Turf...The Huskies are 2-11 in road openers...This is also Head Coach Chris Peterson's first time back to Boise State where he had a 48-2 record on the blue turf...Washington is going to lose, but take them plus the points...(12)...Peterson and his team will hang in there...

-Auburn vs. Louisville  (Atlanta)

Louisville is 17-33-1 versus the SEC...This is their first opener not at home since 2005...Auburn has played in Atlanta 4 times since 2010 and have a 3-1 record...Auburn will make that 4-1 as they have too much firepower for the trendy Louisville pick...Take the Tigers minus the points...(10.5)

-Arizona State at Texas A&M  (Houston)

ASU is 1-6 in road openers...They are 3-9 versus SEC teams...(not that I fully count A&M as a SEC team yet...It's a mental thing)....The Aggies are 5-7 in road/neutral site openers, but they have won 3 straight...This is one of those games I look at and say, 'leave it alone!'  Yeah, I wouldn't touch this game, but screw it...It's called gambling for a reason....Take the Sun Devils plus the points! (3.5)

-Wisconsin vs. Alabama  (Arlington)

Wisconsin had a streak of 16 straight season opening wins until last year...Alabama has won 13 straight season openers...This is their 4th neutral site opener (3-0)...I think Alabama is over-hyped this year...They'll probably win this one, but take the Badgers with the points...(10.5)

-Texas at Notre Dame

The Irish are 8-2 vs. Texas, winning the last 4 meetings...They are 15-4 in home/season openers since 1995...Texas is 1-2 in South Bend, Indiana...That win was in 1934...The Longhorns are 12-2 in road openers, losing the last 2...

This is that point when I have to listen to that don't bet with your heart rule...Texas is getting better, they're on their way back...But Notre Dame wins this game...

...That said, take Texas with the points...(10)

-Ohio State at Virginia Tech  (Monday)

Virginia Tech is 18-1 in home openers...Ohio State is 7-2 since 2006 in road openers...When seeking revenge from a previous season's loss, the Buckeyes are 8-0 since 2010...The average margin of victory in those games is 14 points...The Hokies will hang in there with the home field advantage for the first half, maybe...But it won't last...Take Ohio State minus the points...(11)

Good luck, and enjoy the football...

disclaimer: I and this website are not responsible for any losses you take because you may be a degenerate gambler, an idiot, or may be dealing in illegal activities...These are just merely my thoughts on how I would bet, if I did that type of thing.

Why Does Brady Hoke Still Have Job?

Yes, I'm amazed that it is Tuesday afternoon, and Michigan Football coach Brady Hoke hasn't been fired...Not just because he's a horrible coach who lost to UTEP, and Minnesota at home...But because how he handled injured Quarterback Shane Morris...

As I said Monday, it is clear as day that Morris was knocked loopy...Dude had trouble standing, and wanted desperately to keep his eyes closed...Just unreal that they left him in for another play...But then they put him back in later...

Post game, Hoke only spoke of Morris' ankle injury...Monday, he said he "didn't believe Morris had a concussion."  Yet Michigan AD, Dave Brandon said Morris suffered a Mild Concussion...

Hoke has tried to blame the training/medical staff for allowing Morris back in the game...Never-mind he should have been pulled right at that point where he fell into his linemen and had to be propped up...Hoke went so far as to say he doesn't  "make decisions on who plays and who doesn't play."

Holy fucking shit on a cracker...I think this may have been the first time a head football coach has said such a thing...If you aren't making decisions about who's playing, then what the fuck are you doing? And why are you making millions of dollars? Brady Hoke just went from looking like a bad coach, to looking like a total fucking idiot...

Brandon went as far to say, that the responsibility of the players health and safety, ultimately falls to the head coach and the AD...Well at least some one at Michigan is trying to be honest and standup...He also mentioned Hoke's stubborn refusal to wear a headset on the sidelines, which could have possibly helped with the lack of communication amongst the staff...

Hoke is an idiot...I hate you Michigan...You really didn't need to give me another reason...But thanks...I had been lacking some anger towards you since you've been an embarrassment to football...Now, because of Hoke and his staff, you're just an embarrassment to all mankind...

Hoke, quit...Or choke on a ham sandwich...Brandon, fire that fat fuck!

Oh, and the NCAA, ban the fat fuck from coaching!

Monday Moaning

Over my years over writing blogs, I have often shared very personal details...Pictures of kids, giving a restaurant a more positive review if my wife blew me on the way home...Angry rants of things that pissed me off...The old "Tales From the Fish House"...My personal political views...My favorite Christmas songs...My favorite movies...My Soap Opera or "Rom-Com" script under the pen-name of Seattle Flannel...My constant struggle with organized religion, and even bigger struggle with my personal religious beliefs...and yes...Especially on Monday...My love of eye candy...

And I think the best stuff written, is the personal stuff...

It all started with a Sporting News blog...But I knew I wasn't a stats guys who was going to break down film to write about sports...I always wrote about sports from my view...A fans views...My opinion...My feelings...Many times backed up by nothing more than, 'fuck you, that's how I feel!'

Right or wrong, I was telling you I was right...Because, I'm not some hot shot sports writer...I'm just a guy who likes to write, and likes sports...and eye candy, and food, and sex, and other stuff...And to be honest, most of the famous sports writers in this world, the guys who went to school for it...They're boring as hell to read...I find them often condescending towards fans...Some seem too be doing the bidding of who they cover...Some write want they think fans want to read...Some write things just to get people fired up...I find most of their writing to be fake...Unlike want my friends at  You Gab Sports do...They write from their own, honest, personal perspective...They don't care if no one agrees with them...They don't care if people are offended...They write what they want...And that is what makes our small little site better then most the crap out there these days...Thank You Gabbers!

Over the last couple weeks, I wrote about being done with the NFL...Well, I still am...One week of not reading about a NFL player being an awful person, isn't winning me back...Because it's not just about the few idiot players...It's the whole damn machine that I feel is broken...So I have no NFL talk for ya...And I won't all year...

This past week, I put in a bunch of hours at work, in 4 days...Come Friday, I started 10 days of vacation...And I fucking deserve it!  My wife deserves it...And my kids deserve it...They deserve to see me and spend some time with me...Little Beeze turns 10 this week, and I plan on spoiling him...Friday we called them out of school and went up to Erie PA to see her folks, and her siblings were coming in from Boston...Plus an Aunt, Uncle, and cousins from Philly...Boy they hate when bring up that great Bill Burr Philly rant!

It's great how thrilled kids can be over the simple luxuries of a nice hotel...(Home 2 Suites by Hilton was really fucking nice!)

Here's Molly looking at the fancy window blinds and shades....

Holy crap they open and close with a touch of a button!

Oh, and the joy of  a nice hotel swimming pool....

And what a nice Fall view we had when taking Finnegan for a walk...

There was a lot of catching up...A fair amount of drinking...Eating some good food...Lots of laughs...And Saturday, small birthday celebration for Little Beeze, myself, and my wife's Uncle....

Look at the fireball of a cake...Too many candles...And too many cameras as there isn't one picture of us all looking at the same one....

And late Saturday night, Molly and I squeezed in the 4th quarter of the Notre Dame game with some "Man Chips"...(That's what she calls Pringles, because of the man's face on the can.)

After the Irish's victory...And everyone else got to sleep, I watched some College Football highlights, and I have to tell you, Thank God I Already Hated Michigan! Because after the way Brady Hoke handled his injured QB Shan Morris, I'd be boycotting Michigan too...Holy fuck Brady Hoke needs to be fired! One, he's a bad coach...Two, he did this...

How blind are you!?!  It was clear a hell that kid was dazed and confused...In the one angle you can see he's struggling to keep his eyes open...He's in fucking la, la land!

Then this happened...

I just don't know how you let that kid go back in the game...And for the record...When the game ended...Morris didn't walk off...He was carted off the field...

Hoke shouldn't just be fired by the University...The NCAA should fine the fuck out of him, and ban him from coaching...For God's sake I had to take a class, and pass a test on concussion safety and awareness before I could coach Tee-Ball...Did anyone even give Hoke and his staff a fucking pamphlet!?!

Unreal...

I hope to squeeze in some time to study up for the Gab Fantasy Hockey draft...I'm looking to Knock Sully down, after the ESPN computers stole my title two days after the season ended...Probably all the blogs I write bashing them!

And, I'd like to congratulate myself on my two wire-to-wire fantasy baseball titles!  Sorry Jeff, who I took down in the Championship of both!

Now, I'm going to try to catch up on some sleep...Have a week...

Monday Moaning

Yep...Monday comes running in like a boot to the head!

Seriously, when I saw this play, I laughed my ass off...This play, and well the play that followed pretty much some up the Cleveland Browns since 1999...

Now lets be honest...Brown could have easily cut left, and blown past Lanning, just as he did to ever other member or the Punt coverage team...But shit, what would make this highlight sweeter? Hurdling the damn punter...Dude had to go for it...But when he realized he wasn't going to clear Lanning, or Lanning wasn't getting out of the way...Fuck, time to move that punter...BOOT TO THE HEAD!  Not a Steelers fan...Not Browns fan...But damn I loved this play!

So, they moved it back because the refs felt the boot to the head was "unnecessary roughness"...Okay, give it to Bell now that we see the Browns can't quite tackle! It's so damn Cleveland, us Clevelanders can't be mad...You just gotta laugh!

And I don't care fellow Clevelanders...So what the Browns came back in the second half, and tied it up...Way to go! Then they fell for a fake punt deep in the Steelers end...Totally got burned...Right then they lost the momentum...And eventually they gave up a big drive, followed by an easy game winning field goal wit h no time left...Sorry, no moral victory...They did what they do best...They lost!

Up next for the Browns...A pissed off New Orleans Saints team that got beat by the Falcons...

Hey, anyone see what happened in College Football this past weekend? Texas got abused, at home, by BYU...I forget the score, but it was BYU: a lot, and Texas: hey when is Texas showing up?

Ohio State lost in prime-time , at home, to unranked Virginia Tech...Urban Meyer admitted afterwards that the Hokies exposed their weaknesses...Like, apparently they stopped recruiting QB's when Braxton Miller signed there, and their young offensive line needs a fuck-ton of practice...

Oregon was down to Michigan State...But then they flipped the NIKE switch, and blew the Spartans out of the water in the second half...

But the best game, in my opinion, was the final matchup (for the time being) between Notre Dame and Michigan...If there is one thing I have in common with Ohio State fans, it's a pure hatred for Michigan...Well, folks...The Irish ended this rivalry in fucking style...The beat the shit out of Michigan 31-0....31-0!

Awesome! There's nothing else to say....

No, seriously, I've got nothing else to say...

Oh, did I forget your weekly eye candy?

Here ya go...

Have a week...
