The Beeze's NCAA Conference Predictions

Yeah, that's the best thing you're going to see at a Arizona State game this year!

So this is my predictions for how the conferences will shake out this season in college football...This is based entirely on my own opinions, from my years of sitting on my ass and watching football, as well as sitting on the toilet and reading up on as much college football news as I can...

Let's start with the Big-Ten...

No, it won't be Ohio State and Michigan...Ohio State isn't even eligible for the Big-Ten Championship...Penn State is also ineligible...First we'll start with the "Leaders" division...Yes, the Big-Ten named their divisions, "Leaders" and "Legends"...I had no idea Twats and Douchebags was already taken...

Leaders
1. Wisconsin
2. Ohio State
3. Illinois
4. Penn State
5. Purdue
6. Indiana

Wisconsin has the most talent, right now and their division is weak...Ohio State will do okay, but will still be adjusting to Urban Meyer football, which is a lot different from Jim Tressel ball...Well, except for the criminals, and cheating parts!

I have to say this...I can't wait for Saturday, to watch the Ohio University Bobcats beat up Penn State in not-so-"Happy Valley!"

Legends
1. Nebraska
2. Michigan
3. Michigan State
4. Northwestern
5. Iowa
6. Minnesota

Seriously, why are they still playing football at Minnesota? That program is a joke...The most important game on the schedule is Michigan at Nebraska on October 27th...The winner of that game will take the division, and I'm putting my money on the 'Huskers...And I'll take Nebraska over Wisconsin in the conference Championship game...

Now lets look at the Big East...

1. South Florida
2. Rutgers
3. Louisville
4. Cincinnati
5. Syracuse
6. Pitt
7. UConn
8. Temple

Okay, this conference is in a sad state...This is the year B.J. Daniels and USF put it all together...Louisville heads to Rutgers the last week of the season...That will decide 2nd place, and I'm taking Rutgers D over Louisville's QB Teddy Bridgewater, who is getting a bit of hype...Syracuse will be up slightly, while Pitt slides...Temple, UConn, stick to Basketball.

Moving from the Big lEast, will go next to the slightly better, ACC...

Atlantic
1. Clemson
2. Florida State
3. Wake Forest
4. NC State
5. Maryland
6. Boston College

Yep, I'm taking Clemson over the over-hyped FSU...Clemson is loaded at the skill positions, and has a solid defense...Wake Forest will be up this year...Boston College is clearly focusing solely on Hockey...

Coastal
1. Virginia Tech
2. Georgia Tech
3. North Carolina
4. Miami
5. Virginia
6. Duke

No surprise here...VT is always in it...UNC has some good talent, but they're still learning about football there...Duke, still hasn't figured it out! Tech will take the conference Championship game, well, since Clemson never seems to win a big game.

Well, now we should get to the most loved, and hated conference out there...

The SEC...

Oh, were looking for some Southern Fried Hottie...Sorry about that...I just thought in this world of hyped QB's, people should get use to seeing AJ McCarron...McCarron will be leading Alabama to the SEC Championship game...There's no doubt the West will be a battle between 'Bama and LSU...The Tide have the better all-around team, and the better QB...It's theirs to lose...

West
1. Alabama
2. LSU
3. Arkansas
4. Auburn
5. Miss State
6. Texas A&M
7. Ole Miss

East
1. Georgia
2. South Carolina
3. Missouri
4. Florida
5. Tennessee
6. Vanderbilt
7. Kentucky

Georgia is loaded, and there toughest competition is South Carolina, which they'll take care of, because Spurrier seems to find ways to lose...Mizzou, Florida, Tenn, and Vandy are in a log jam...Kentucky...Another Basketball school still trying to figure out this pesky Football...I'll take Alabama over Georgia in the Conference Championship game.

Now it's time for the Big-12...

1. Oklahoma
2. Kansas State
3. Texas
4. TCU
5. West Virginia
6. Oklahoma State
7. Baylor
8. Texas Tech
9. Kansas
10. Iowa State

To me, Oklahoma is a no-brainer...Just a loaded team...2nd and 3rd will be decided December 1st when Texas visits K-State...Texas' defense will keep them in the hunt this year, but I'm gambling on Collin Klein and Kansas State to shake things up...West Virginia will realize they're not in the Big East anymore...

Now, we'll end with the Pac-12...

North
1. Oregon
2. Washington
3. Stanford
4. Washington State
5. California
6. Oregon State

You can't go against Oregon and their high-octane attack...They're loaded with talent on both sides of the ball...Washington is going to compete, and scare some people...Washington State is going to surprise people, and if they get a bit of luck, they could pull out an upset or two...

South

1. USC
2. Utah
3. Arizona
4. UCLA
5. Arizona State
6. Colorado

Yeah, I hate USC, but you gotta except that they're a powerhouse...The rest of the division, flip a coin...It's just a bunch of average, with the exception the steaming pile of crap known as Colorado...Sad what has happened to that program...

The Pac-12 is a two team race, and it looks to be the same two teams for awhile...Oregon and USC just keep reloading, and the rest of the conference can't keep up...As good as I know USC is, I'm going to put my money on Oregon, in the conference championship game...Hopefully Notre Dame LB, Manti Te'o will take Matt Barkley out on November 24th, to help out the Ducks...

I know the smaller conference fans will give me shit if I don't give them love, so real quick here...Boise State takes the Mountain West...Fresno State, and Wyoming will push them, and we'll see major improvement from Colorado State...

Ohio will take the MAC East, while Bowling Green gives them a good push...Toledo will take the MAC West in a tight battle with Western Michigan...The OU Bobcats will beat the Rockets in the Championship game...

Houston will take the Conference USA Championship after beating UCF...Tulsa is the only other team with a shot, except they have to deal with Houston's non-stop offense...And we'll give the Sunbelt to Arkansas State...Does anyone follow the Sunbelt?

Monday Moaning

Well, Monday is here again...And let me tell ya, my Monday is going to suck...Both the Little Beeze and Molly are having dental work done...They're both being put under anesthesia...The boy has a lot of extra nerves in his mouth, and while they were fixing a cavity, he felt everything...They numbed him 4 times, and gave him laughing gas...It was brutal...

And Molly started grinding her teeth as soon as they started coming in...She chipped all for of her top front teeth, and they've been slowly eroding away...Say they are putting her under to fix those...Then afterwards we'll get to deal crankiness, and I'll bet some stomach issues...Which will suck since they aren't allowed to eat or drink anything in the morning beforehand...I just hope it all goes okay...

Then Tuesday, the Little Beeze and his big sister have their first day at their new school...And while the boy's teacher doesn't dress like the teacher above there, but she's alright! I've got all week to get into the morning routine, since I took a week of vacation time...

Onto sports, Saturday night I finally posted my HEISMAN_WATCH...It took me awhile, but I'm finally getting pumped for College Football...

Then there was the news that broke about LANCE_ARMSTRONG...I know plenty of people didn't agree with my view, but I have a hard time thinking a guy who gives up the fight, is innocent...

But there is something in the sports world that was sticking in my head all this weekend...The ESPN networks aired a dozen High School Football games between Friday and Sunday...Now how many times have we heard or read guys on ESPN bitch about how college athletes should get paid to some degree, since the NCAA, and the Universities are making so much money on the backs of these kids...So why is it okay for ESPN to make advertising bucks airing high school games? They're doing the same thing that many of their talking heads have complained about...

Listen, local games have been aired for years...But "The World Wide Leader" showing a dozen games over the weekend, just seems like high school sports are about to get seriously corrupted...

But hell, why am I expecting so much? The fucking History Channel spends more time showing idiot programs about pawn shops, and storage lockers, instead of shit about actual history...And then the second news story Sunday morning, behind hyping up Tropical Storm Isaac, was about that stupid twat Snooki having her awful baby...Christ, there's a kid that was born with two strikes against it!

And about that storm...I was watching the Nightly News and they are talking about it having a chance of hitting New Orleans 7 years to the day that Katrina hit...You could hear the hope, and excitement in their voices...This is like a sick, voyeuristic, news wet dream...It was sickening...I really need to stop expecting so much from the world...

That's it for now...I'm in a shit mood...But pleas give THIS a look for me...

Have a week...

The Beeze's 2012 Heisman Watch

It's easy to say Matt Barkley is your favorite to win the Heisman...But that ain't me...Not just because he's a USC guy...I mean, yeah, that might be a small factor, but it's just lazy...To me, the favorite had to be Montee Ball, up above there...Last year he finished 4th in the voting, and got little love compared to Alabama running back Trent Richardson, even though Ball's numbers blew Richardson's away...Ball rushed for 1,923 yards and 39 TD's last year...He's gotta be on top of the list...

Oh, but then there is that off the field stuff...Ball recently got jumped, and had his ass beat-down by a 4-5 guys...It's been said that it was provoked by something that happened at a party a couple days earlier...We'll see...I expect Ball to put up big numbers again, but I think they'll be down a bit, which will open the race up to others...

What others? Well like I said, Not Matt Barkley...And no, I'm not going with that bastard Denard Robinson, from Michigan...And no, I'm not going Geno Smith from West Virginia...West Virginia isn't going to walk into the Big-12 and roll people over...They're going to find out how weak the Big East they use to play in, was...

I'm telling you to keep your eye on Georgia's QB Aaron Murray...

Murray has all the tools to be an elite college QB...His size, 6-1, 210 lbs. may hold him back at the next level, but he's fine for the college game, throwing for 3,149 yards and 35 TD's last year...But he has to cut down on the14 INT's he threw...

I'll be watching another guy even more closely...Kansas State QB, Collin Klein...

Klein is the dual threat that coach Bill Snyder loves...Last year Klein rushed for more than a 1,000 yards, and passed for just under 2,000...To keep him in Heisman consideration, Kansas State needs to win, and stay in the hunt for the Big-12 title...Which I expect them to...I'm predicting them to finish 2nd or 3rd in the conference...Klein also needs to improve his passing numbers, and get more comfortable in the pocket, which he should be able to do, with strong group of receivers returning...

Then there is this beast in South Carolina...Marcus Lattimore...

Lattimore had rushed for 818 yards, and 10 TD's in the first 6 games and change last year...But then ripped his knee up...It was the second year in row Steve Spurrier relied on Lattimore to carry the offense, and ran the hell out of him...It was also the second year that was ended with an injury...So clearly the key for Lattimore, is staying healthy...Also The Gamecocks have to be competitive in the SEC, and keep Lattimore in the spotlight...

I really think Lattimore can take it, if South Carolina can get themselves in the SEC Championship hunt, and stay healthy...The kid is a beast...And no matter if he wins the Heisman or not, Lattimore will be going pro after this season...

The last guy I'm looking at, some will say he's a reach...Well, why not reach? If Barkley, and some other guys get hurt, or just shit the bed, which we have seen before, there will be other guys doing well, and getting a look...Well, I've been waiting 4 years to see this guy put it all together...

USF QB, B.J. Daniels...

The kid is a real dual-threat...Passing for 2,604 yards and 13 TD's, and rushing for 601 yards and 6 TD's...Daniels has progressed in each of his seasons at USF, and enters this season with the best group of receivers he's had...

Like all Heisman hopefuls, he needs help from his team...I'm predicting the Bulls to take the Big-East crown this season, as they'll have their best defensive unit in years...And with the Big-East losing West Virginia and TCU, the competition is a lot weaker...Louisville will be good...I expect the rest to be pretty average...For my Syracuse friends, you'll see some improvement...

Daniels has the tools, and the team...But will the conference be held against him...Probably...But if he puts up monster numbers, and takes USF to a major bowl, he could get the love...

Who's your Heismane favorite?

Later, The Beeze.

Lance Armstrong Throws in the Towel

In case you missed it, Lance Armstrong gave up his fight against the United States Anti-Doping Agency, and accusations that he not only used PEDS, but was also involved in a major blood doping ring, while he racked up his 7 straight Tour de France titles...

Giving up his fight, will automatically strip him of all his titles, his 2000 Olympic bronze medal, and any money and awards received from 1998 on...He will also be banned from competing, coaching and having any official role with any sport that follows the World Anti-Doping Code...

Armstrong continues to deny the allegations, and has referred to them as a "witch hunt"...But why would you give up the fight if you are innocent? Why would you be willing to have all you accolades stripped from you? Why would you stand by and have your reputation, and name dragged through the mud? Probably because there is a list of at least ten people willing to testify against him, including George Hincapie, one of the most respected U.S. riders, along with other teammates...

Honestly, I never really cared about Cycling...But I know I can't stand those stupid, 'Look at me' yellow bracelets...And while I never followed cycling, from things I've heard and read, I think the guy cheated...I also have gotten the impression, that a lot of people in that world don't like Armstrong...

You know what...The late, great George Carlin didn't like him either...That's good enough for me!

Where Is Beverly Potts

(This is the Only blog post, that I go into the archives to repost...And until we know what happened Beverly Potts, I will continue to do so...August 24th marks the anniversary of Beverly's disappearence)

Friday August 24th 1951, 10 year old Beverly Potts vanished from her Cleveland neighborhood...Never to be seen again...The case is still open...And even though it has nothing to do with me...It haunts me...

She had disappeared after attending a showagon at Halloran Park....The showagon was a group of singers dancers, and other performers, that went from park to park near the end of Summer...Halloran Park was at the corner of Beverly's street, Linnet and 117th...

Beverly had gone there with her best friend and next door neighbor, Patsy Swing...Beverly was told she stay for the whole show...Patsy had to be home by dark...When it got close to 9:00 PM...Patsy left...She tried to get Beverly to come with her...But Beverly wanted to stay...And did...

Once it was 10:00 PM, Beverly's parents, and older sister became worried...Her father and sister went to the park to look for her...They came back with no signs of Beverly...They checked again...Her mother called the police...Later, after the police hadn't shown up...Her sister called the police again...It was now after midnight...The search was on...Her father Robert searched the neighborhood...Neighbors began to realize something was wrong...And started searching also...

By all accounts, Beverly was extremely shy...Especially around boys, and men...Even men she knew...So the thought that she would have left willingly with some one was highly doubted...Yet no one at the park had noticed any type of struggle, or anything alarming...It's estimated that there was 1500 people there...

Then Saturday morning came...No sign of Beverly...The neighborhood was in shock...The Cleveland police was working non-stop, lead by Chief of Detectives, James E. McArthur...Every lead...I stress every, was checked out...Hot lines were setup...All three Cleveland papers were covering the story, non-stop...

One of the scariest things to me, is the number of stories that came out...A woman down the block from the Potts house hearing a girl scream "I want to go home!" as a car sped by...A man seeing a young girl in a car with an older man...And then seeing that car in a field a short time later, about a mile or so away...The man beating the girl...A cab driver picking up a suspicious looking man and a young girl on 117th, and taking them to the bus station...These are just a few...You can't be sure what is true, and what isn't...But if any of them are true, why the hell didn't some one do something, or speak up sooner...

There was also many reports of people seeing a particular type of car...With a creepy looking person...Some accounts saying two people...Trolling around the park during the Showagon...

It's all so sketchy...Especially 60 years later...Yet...Even today...If a tip comes in...It's checked out...It's still an open case...Nothing has ever been found...

"The earth might as well have opened up and swallowed the child. She has vanished into nothing." -Ben R. Tidyman in the Cleveland Plain Dealer, 9-4-'51

The Potts family was investigated...Neighbors interviewed...Classmates interviewed...Every know sex offender questioned...I was surprised to read how well the police kept tabs on sex offenders back then...Over the years, there have been many promising tips, that have just never panned out..

In 2001 letters were received at the Cleveland Plain Dealer...A dying man confessing to the disappearance, molestation, and murder of Beverly...On the 50th anniversary of the disappearance, he was going to turn himself in at Halloran Park...Then he sent another letter, just weeks before...Saying he has become to sick, and was being put into a nursing home...The Police checked everything and anything they could...The man was never found....Beverly has never been found...No trace of her has ever been found...

It's been said, that after Beverly's disappearance, Her mother Elizabeth, "seemed to be crying softly virtually all the time." I can only imagine. Elizabeth Potts died 5 years later, in 1956...

I said at the beginning that this story haunts me...I'm not sure why...I do know that it bothers me even more, now that I have kids of my own...My father grew up at Halloran Park...It was just steps from his childhood home...He knew of Beverly Potts...He's a few years older then her...She was friends with my aunt...

I had spent plenty of time at Halloran Park when I was kid...We'd walk up there when we were visiting my grandfather...I didn't find out about the Beverly Potts story until I was in high school...Although I didn't think much of it...But I always felt uneasy at the park after that...I took my wife there once...It was our first date that didn't start in a bar after work...We went ice skating there...But I still felt strange...I drive past Halloran everyday...And I think about what may have happened to that little girl...

I always think about how much better things were in our society, when i was kid...I knew there were kid touchers, and evil people...I was prepared for it...But it didn't seem to be too bad...Then I would think about when my parents were growing up, and how much better a time it was in the world...There couldn't be this much bad sh!t...Then I learned about Beverly Potts...And her story leads you to so many more horrible stories that happened back then...Clearly, this world has always been f**ked up....

I guess all we can do is prepare our children for the bad as best we can...While not forgetting to show them the good...

Many times you hear questions like, 'If you could ask God one question...What would it be?' Or some silly sh!t like that...I'd ask, WHERE'S BEVERLY POTTS?

Not that it would do any good for her family...They're all gone...Maybe it's just my Catholic upbringing that just wants that poor child's soul to finally rest peacefully.

For more on Beverly Potts case...There is a great book called "The Twilight Of Innocence" by James Jessen Badal.

Augusta Admits First Femal Members...

And the sky didn't fall!

Since it was founded in 1932, Augusta has been a Men Only Club...Until this week, when they invited former Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, and South Carolina financier Darla Moore, to become it's first female members...I'm sure some of the good ole boys were clutching their chests, thinking this was how the end of the World begins...Relax, it's okay, the world will survive this...

But now that this barrier has been broken through, I feel it's time for me to make a push, to break down another barrier...Tomorrow, I'm going to begin my quest, to become a member of CURVES...I bet they won't let me in...As much as women complain about males and their double standards, they often don't budge on theirs...Hey, ladies are allowed in at Augusta now...Why can't a guy workout at Curves?

I actually don't care if Curves lets me in...There are plenty of places for me to workout at...Oh yeah, I gotta get my fat ass off the computer, and actually make an effort to exercise, before I should complain about where I can exercise...Just like there were plenty of other places for women to play golf...(Seriously, over 17,000 in the U.S.)...So why make such a big deal about stupid Augusta? A bunch of narrow-minded rich douches...Why would you want to be around those ass-hats?

Do women really feel they have reached some level of equality now?

Women have always considered the weaker of the two genders...Which I would gladly argue for the side of women...Yeah, I may throw a better punch then my wife...Sure I can throw a baseball, and I have better bat-speed then her...But I was there as she gave birth to our 3 children...Throwing a punch ain't shit compared to pushing a life out through your pisser...And I won't ever be offering to do that...And I highly doubt I have the same mental toughness that she had to go through that...

I find everything about this topic, idiotic...It's stupid that Augusta has refused to allow women in for all these years...But it's a private, and they have the right to do what they want...Yet women have fought against it for years, even though there are plenty of other stupid golf courses...Oh, and golf is stupid...Women have no problem with having their own private places...And now there are women who have a sense of equality, because a bunch of rich, backwards-thinking , douchebags, have allowed two rich, women to join their club...Now a few more sponsors will be happy to put money into the Masters and Augusta..It's all fucking nonsense!

And ladies, as a father of two young girls (almost 11 and almost 2) let me tell you what I intend on telling them as they grow up...

'You're equal to, if not better then any man out there...You don't need to be a member of their shitty golf club to prove that...Do your own thing...You don't have to prove anything to anyone except yourself.'

Look out Curves...I'm coming for you...

Later, The Beeze.

Monday Moaning

Yep, just one week left of Summer for the kids, and then it's back to school...Actually, off to a new school for mine...Catholic School really dinged me last week, as I dropped $450 on uniforms for my two oldest kids...You'd think those damn skirts were made out of gold! And sadly for Little Beeze, I doubt his teacher looks like Miss Jones there up above...But the switch will be good for them...Better then the Hell hole they were at last year!

That said, we're going to start this week talking about a different Catholic School...The University of Notre Dame...By this point of the Summer, I have usually posted some Pre-season Notre Dame blogs...I also normally put out other College Football predictions, including my Heisman pick...Well, this year I've been slacking in that department...I'll be honest, I just haven't cared as much...Why? I don't know, I think the biggest reason has been my kids, As I touched on in what I wrote HERE Saturday...

Luckily, ESPN hires dolts like Rick Reilly, instead of guys like me...Reilly, an over-hyped columnist for years with SI, and now ESPN, like most douchebag columnists, hates bloggers like me...They think the world only needs their shitty opinion...They do the same thing as us bloggers, except they have a boss who gives them a deadline, and doesn't let them write words like fuck! Well Reilly, you can eat my ass!

Reilly posted a blog...Umm, I mean column, on ESPN.com...I'm not linking their shit...They don't get any free hits from me! Ricky boy was all up in arms about Notre Dame...Saying how he no longer loves Notre Dame football, because he "grew up." Did Ya!?!

Reilly is unhappy with the media coverage Notre Dame gets...Umm, look at your bosses assshole! He is unhappy that they have lost 10 of their last 12 bowl games, and 9 of their last 10 to USC...Us real fans aren't happy about that either...He is also salty that ND isn't in a conference for football...Anyone who has followed me, knows that I'm a loyal ND fan, and I have repeatedly said they should be in a conference...But I don't make the rules...Although, I should!

Rick Reilly put his foot down and wrote this...
"From now on:
• Notre Dame no longer gets its own television deal with NBC.

• Notre Dame no longer gets to be the only school in the country with an inexplicable seat at the BCS decisions-making table.

• Notre Dame no longer gets its yearly undeserved hellahype in preseason rankings and preseason All-America teams."

Well Rick...The NCAA and you have no power, or authority to tell NBC they can't pay Notre Dame boat loads of money to broadcast their football games...Nor would any other University say no to a major network putting that kind of cash in their pockets...

If the BCS is going to give Nd that seat at the "decision-making table," that's on them...It's the BCS' fault...Not Notre Dame's...And the reason they do give them that seat, is because as many people like you, are out there hating Notre Dame, there are plenty that love Notre Dame...Just ask the over 30,000 people from the U.S. who are traveling to Ireland to see Notre Dame play Navy there...ND fans travel well, and spend money...That's why they have the seat...Because all the NCAA and BCS care about is money...

And for the "yearly undeserved hellahype in preseason rankings and preseason All-America teams." Again, that's another thing you can't pin on Notre Dame...That's on you, your bosses, and all your buddies in the media...Notre Dame doesn't put out the AP poll...Notre Dame doesn't put out "Lindy's" pre-season magazine...Notre Dame doesn't write the "USA Today" or "Sports Illustrated" Polls...If you're pissed about about Notre Dame's standing in the sports media, then go on the air at ESPN and blast them, and the rest of the media...But you won't Rick...You're too much of a fucking coward!

And you don't like Notre Dame's standing with the NCAA and BCS...Take it up with them...I agree, ND should be in a conference...But if the NCAA isn't forcing them into a conference, and says it's okay to have their own TV deal, and the BCS wants ND's input, you can't blame Notre Dame for saying okay, and reaping the benefits...When ESPN threw money at you Rick Reilly, and sweet talked you, and gave you what you wanted, you said 'okay, see ya SI!' So why is not alright that Notre Dame says okay? Is this all because your Daddy issues Rick, and how it hurt him so much that he flunked out of Notre Dame? Or is it just because you're douche, and you needed something for your deadline?

Okay, I'm through with you Reilly...

-Saturday we were at our friend Brian an May's house for a cookout...Brian is a big Packers fan, being that he's from Wisconsin...He was waiting for me to bust his balls about the Browns beating the Packers this week in their pre-season game...Nope, not gonna happen...It's pre-season...Pre-season doesn't mean shit...The Browns only had to see Rodgers for what, 3 series...Sure there were some good things, but there were plenty of bad too...Especially the Packers lack of depth at QB...Okay, so I got one dig in...

-I hope everyone had good weekend...We worked in some quality park time Sunday morning/afternoon...It was a perfect day...Molly was rocking the swings, as usual...

Then I got some yard work done, and fired up the grill for some burgers and dogs...

-Just a quick ad here...All my pre-seaon college football crap, will be coming at you Friday...Better start doing my homework...Okay, Molly says it's time to go...

Have a week...

The Beeze.

It's Time to Start Giving Dads Some Respect

This is something that has bothered me for a little while now, but it really got stirred up today...With the kids switching schools, I had to stop by the Pediatrician's office and get their Immunization records...On the counter they had a stack of magazines called "Baby Talk" with a note saying "Free, take one!" So I did...Later in the evening I sat down on the crapper and started taking a look at this magazine...There was something that was really standing out to me, and I couldn't shake it...

It was totally geared towards moms...Now, I'm not here to dump all over moms, or my wife...She's great, and I'm sure you're all great...But 99% of the ads were aimed at mom...The articles, aimed at mom...The staff was moms...There was one male writer, who writes a blog for the company...He got a one page blurb in the back...It started out on the same path as I'm on, but finished weak, basically telling all the Dads like me to relax, and stop looking for any credit for being active fathers, because of the years and years of our fathers, and grandfathers reclining in their chairs, and drinking beers while mom took care of everything...

Well, I'm here to say, kiss my ass!

In our oldest daughter's first couple years, I was working 70 hours a week...My wife wasn't just the primary care-giver...She was the care-giver...Then here career path started to change for the better...She was climbing the corporate ladder...My career path has always sucked...So I stared working less, while she worked more...We now had two kids and were splitting the care giving duties evenly...

Now she makes 3 times what I do...I have cut my hours to just 30 a week...I get the kids ready in the morning...Off to school, and take the baby to the sitter...I go to work, and slam out some food to people in a much higher tax bracket then I...I pick up the kids...Often we hit a park...Help with the homework...I make dinner, or at least place the order...I do the dishes...We split up the baby's bath time...She does more laundry then me, but I do some...I put the baby to sleep...I have always gotten up with the baby...(I also handled the majority of the Little Beeze's getting up in the night when he was a baby)...She hasn't gotten up with the baby since her maternity leave ended...(the baby is almost 2, but I can't stop calling her a baby yet)...It's best for everyone if my wife gets a good nights sleep...

I take the kids to their doctors appointments...Dentist, and eye doc too...I coach the baseball team...I'm the one that deals with the teachers, or principal, if necessary...If they get hurt, I'm cleaning up the blood and patching them up...I would say, that at this point in time, I'm the primary care-giver...And I have no problem with it...I love it actually...But with the exception of a few blogs out there, written by dads, about dads, for dads, the rest of the world gives no credit to us hard working, active dads...

90% of the fathers portrayed on television, are made out to look like bumbling asses...Dolts that have no clue how to take care of their kids, and have no idea what is going on in their lives...They'll make a dad on TV struggle with changing a diaper...Let me tell you this, I can change some fucking diapers...If my wife puts the diaper on, there's going to be a leak some where...No mine...I put that little ass on lock-down...Nothings seeping out!

I know dads like me are in the minority, but there are more than you think...It would be nice to see "Baby Talk" and "Parenting" magazines show some love towards dad...It would also be great to see dads shown on TV in a more realistic light, instead of still being stuck in some 1950's stereotypical bullshit...And I'll also say this...These days, even the dads that are the primary bread-winners are a lot more active with their kids, then they were way back in the day...

It's time to give Dads some credit, and respect...Mom is awesome...My wife is an amazing woman, and a great mother...But I'm pretty fucking sweet too! (hey, I'm willing to toot my own horn!)

Monday Moaning

Now that looks like a Summer Vacation I could be down with!

Yes, this week Monday Moaning is on the road...Coming to you from Erie Pennsyltucky! We headed in Friday, to my in laws...Where my wife's sister, her son, and my wife's two cousins, and their kids, were waiting for us...We spent Friday night shooting the shit and just hanging out...I had just had a long, hot day at work, so I didn't feel like doing much but sleeping anyways...

My sister-in-law has a son the same age as Little Beeze, so it was great that he had a buddy, but we knew sooner or later there would be a meltdown...Well, the meltdown climaxed with my son throwing a handful of Lego's' that drilled my nephew in the head...Earlier they had disagreement about whether if some toy existed or not...SO that had my little Irish boy hot under the collar...It was just a typical 7 year old boy dick swinging contest, and then some Lego's were taken, and some "Dude, I was using that!" Then some got thrown down, and then some more got thrown down, but just into a head....Great times ahead!

The next morning Little Beeze was messing with his big sister and second cousin...He ended up getting hit in the face with a toy...It hurt him a bit, so he went all out, and threw a hair brush...So after injuring 2 people in less then 24 hours, he was in my dog-house big time...

Just a little while later we all went to Waldameer Amusement Park...I not a fan of places like this, but you know...It's all about the kids...I gladly took baby duty...There's limited rides for kids her age, but Molly was happy just cruising around in the little boats...Plus, we always seem to hit places like this, right when she needs a nap...After a hour and change, she crashed in the stroller...When 3:00 PM hit, I was just trying to get out of there...The rain was holding off all day, and it wasn't going to last much longer...Plus I just wanted to check-in to our hotel, and relax a bit...I mentioned the rain a second ago...Very odd how we've been having a hot as hell Summer with no rain...Then we show up to Erie, and it's cold and rainy...I was just waiting for some snow to blow in Sunday!

Saturday night, we finally got the kids to sleep...I watched the 4x100 relay, because track is about the only Summer Olympic stuff I'll watch...The U.S. came out strong, and had the lead, but Jamaica came on during the 3rd leg...And the anchor finished them off...Yep, Usain Bolt again lived up to all the hype...Normally I couldn't stand a guy that loves himself as much as Bolt...But shit, he's the fastest man alive...Dude may be a dick, but he's the dick you want on your team...

After that, I was laying in bed watching some show on Discovery proving that mermaids exist...I'll have to dig into that some more...I finally crash around midnight...Then some time just after 1:00 AM, the hotel's fire alarms start blasting...I grabbed the baby, wrapped her in a blanket, and covered her ears...I'm standing in the doorway looking back at the rest of my family...The boy, out cold...The oldest girl, awake but unaware...And my wife sitting on the bed saying, "What is that?"

Okay, it was the loudest fucking annoying sound I had ever heard...What the hell could it be...So I yelled, "It's the fucking fire alarm! Get the kids!" She came to, and get them up...The boy still not giving a shit...As she got closer, I told her to grab my glasses, and a key...She also grabbed her purse...Luckily since it had car keys in it, so we could keep the kids warm...About 20 minutes later the Calvary arrived...

Kind of sad that we had to wait 20 minutes...

Even more sad is that they broke out two fire houses for a little patch of mulch that caught fire outside, from a cigarette...It was right next to the elevator equipment, and some how gut sucked in...I could have pissed on it, and put it out...By 2:00AM we were allowed back in...

Sunday we were going to be headed to the Erie Zoo...So I went to target and got a sweat shirt for each of the kids...This cold and rainy shit is for the birds...We hit the Zoo...It's small, so it's great for kids...Okay, it use to be great for kids...But over the past few years they have had a number of the animals die...And then half of the ones we saw looked like they were going to die...The Ape, or chimp or whatever, had blood all over it's area...lots of blood...Then the Leopard sounded asthmatic, and kept puking...The one Black Bear looked like it was going to kill itself...None of the monkeys were doing any of that wacky monkey shit you always see them do...The kangaroos had a bit of hop left in them...Ha, get it!

I always thought zoo's were depressing and cruel places, and this joint validated that feeling...

Molly's favorite was the Penguins...

The were very friendly, and there was one that was very playful, even though their tank looked dirty and funky...And yes, Mom got her a stuffed Penguin at the gift shop...The gift shop which was very well kept, of course...

All of this wasn't necessary to Molly...She was fine stomping in a puddle in Grandma and Grandpa's driveway Saturday morning...

Yeah, I know, I barely said anything about sports, or the U.S. Swimming scandal I wrote about last week...Hey, tough shit! I'll be back into digging into that stuff Tuesday...Unlike the countless people in sports who say "family first," I mean it...Yeah, I spent this time bitching and shitting on Erie...But my kids had fun...My wife had fun and saw family...And I got a blog out of it...

Oh, one last thing...If you ever want really good Pizza and Wings, and you're near Edinboro PA...Go to this little dive JOHN'S_WILDWOOD_PIZZA...Fucking awesome! Just don't ask my wife for directions...You would think some one who attended Edinboro University for five years, would remember the way!

That's it for now...Have a week...

Later, the Beeze.

A Little Spanking Taking You Into the Weekend

Since Monday's post lacked it's normal vibe, and didn't get into things I planned on getting into, I figure, why not end the week with what I normally start it with...But if you missed Monday Moaning, check it out...The mainstream media ignoring decades of sexual child abuse in the U.S. Swimming program, has to stop...And I will continue to beat on this story until all these evil bastards are in jail, or killed for their crimes...

That said, let's talk about the sale of the Cleveland Browns...Jimmy Haslam, a minority owner of the Steelers dropped a billion dollars to buy the Browns from Randy Lerner...To which I say, Thank God!

I was talking about this with my one brother at a family event...He's the genius brother, who does nothing with his brains and 3 degrees...He's also mentally unstable, especially when talking sports...(And you people thought I was nuts)...So I say how I'm thrilled the Browns have a new owner, and that Lerner is finally gone...He flies off the handle, saying how he's so sick of Cleveland fans blaming owners...I brought up Lerner taking $80 million of Browns revenue, and dumping it into his stupid English Soccer team...He went off saying, "It's his money, he can do whatever the fuck he wants with it!"...And I replied, that doesn't mean Browns fans have to be happy about it...Just last year, Lerner was asking for tax-payers to pay for repairs on the stadium...Umm, fuck you, we built it...If you want upgrades and repairs, you do it!

Lerner made it clear he wanted nothing to do with Football...That's why he gave fatty Holmgren a $10 million a year contract, to run the entire thing...Lerner didn't even go to the Owner's meetings...Fatty did...My brother brought up Lerner having to still be paying four different head coaches and thing like that probably lead him to releasing control...Hey, fuck him...He hired them, and fired them...That's not our fault...Lerner was horrible, for the NFL, The Browns, and Cleveland...Christ he spent 95% of his time in New York or England...My Brother also bitched about how he was "probably sick of getting bashed in the media"...Hey, that's what happens when you own a sports team...And that's what happens when you religiously shit on the media...

Lerner out of the picture is great...And Haslam saying he's going to do things right, and how he learned them from the Steelers, is awesome...Browns fans may not like that, but the Steelers have a pretty damn good track record...

Then this week coach Pat Shurmur named Brandon Wheeden the starting QB...Well, I would hope so...They spent a 1st round pick on him, and he's 28, his career is half over already...Get him out there...It's been reported that the news made Colt McCoy very sad...I'm sure his father will get in front of a camera and bitch about this...But shit, look at Colt...I think he's still dizzy from the hit he took from James Harrison last season...And McCoy family, while you're down about this, just remember that little Colt didn't make a pass longer then 15 yards last year...Kid has a fucking rag arm!

But that's not all...The Browns #1 pick this year, Trent Richardson spent Thursday having an arthroscopic knee surgery...It's being called "Routine" and they are hoping he'll be ready for the opener...It already feels like it's going to be a long year...

Oh, and then there is the report that star corner back, Joe Haden failed a routine drug test during the off-season, testing positive for Adderall, which is often used by people suffering from attention deficit disorder, and narcolepsy...Adderall is on the NFL's banned substance list...But there are reports that it was prescribed by a doctor, and they may help get Haden out of a possible suspension...

Now, to the other sports team, who's owner my brother supports...the Cleveland Indians...After the All-star break, the Tribe started to slide...And as the trade deadline approached, and passed, the Indians did nothing...Actually they traded a minor league knuckle-baller to the Red Sox for a minor league OF...A left-handed OF...Even though this team has desperately needed a right-handed bat for 3 years...So instead of doing something that could maybe give the team a boost, the front office threw in the towel, and it has shown on the field...The Tribe has looked like a steaming pile of shit...

And yes, most fans blame ownership for not putting money into the team...I blame Mark Shapiro first, because this ass-hat has just made some horrible fucking trades, and desperately thinks he can do some kind of Billy Beane magic trick...Guess what Mark, you can't! But I also blame Mr. Dolan...This guy always says he's going to kick in the money, when the team is ready...Well this team had shown some guts through the first half, and he didn't do shit!

My knucklehead brother, again feels the fans have no right to bash this dick...Fuck my brother, and fuck Dolan...My brother actually said, "If I had to put up with this shit, I'd move the team."....So I said, "Okay, find a city that is going to build a stadium for you, because Dolan sure as hell won't spend a dime, and he won't want an old stadium...Oh, and a city that is actually big enough, with a strong enough economy, to support another major sports franchise...Doesn't sound that easy, does it?" All he came back with was, "Well, I'd really have to look into it." Genius my fucking ass!

My brother is one of those twats that bitches about fans not filling the seats, so why should Dolan spend money, yet the last time he actually put his ass in one of those empty seats was when I got tickets for myself, and my brothers to take our dad to a game on his birthday, 3 years ago...Yeah, my brother reminds me of a certain gash!

I need a laugh after this ranting...And hell, why not use a laugh, that can also be used as a warning for some of the language I use...

Have a great weekend!

Monday Moaning: U.S.A. Swimming Sexual Abuse Scandal

This will not be a normal "Monday Moaning"...No jokes, no pics of the kids...No videos...No talk of the Browns sale...That's for another day...Right now we need to talk about something much more serious...

This is Sarah Burt...She's dead...And her story, and the story of many others have been kept far too quiet, for far too long...A story that will remind us, that child sexual abuse and covering it up, is a serious problem, and it's happened at more places then just Penn State...Dealing with having been sexually abused by her USA Swimming coach had become too much, and too hard for Sarah Burt...At 16 years old she stepped out into traffic and was killed by a semi-truck...

This post is based on the incredible, and hard journalistic work of TIM_JOYCE...I can not do this story justice, please read his work HERE...And HERE...

I cannot understand how we all haven't read and heard more about this...This seems to be abuse, and cover-up on a much larger scale then we saw at Penn State...Why have we not heard about Sarah Burt? Why with all the horrible Olympic coverage, have we not heard about this? Why am I only learning about a Swimming coach named Andy King, that sexual abused kids for 3 decades, and was sentenced to 40 years in jail for it, today?

Yes, Swimming is not a mainstream sport...Sure, it's something we don't really pay much attention to until an Olympic year...But this is USA Swimming...Overseen by the U.S. Olympic Committee...How and why would they keep this quiet? Even worse, why is Tim Joyce the only guy to have the balls to go after them, and dig into this story?

Well, as Joyce pointed out, the media is "lazy"...I agree, and I'll go a step further...They're lazy, and they're afraid...They are afraid to offend anyone...Somewhere along the line they decided to be everyone's friend...Even when something awful happens, they'll report it, but they won't dig too deep...Then they let it blow over and wait for the next big splash...

Yes, I'm generalizing here...But I find it to be true of the majority of the media...How many reporters are covering the Olympics? A shit-load right! So why, when John Leonard, head of the American Swim Coaches Association, said he thought Chinese swimmer Ye Shiwen’s world record 400-meter individual medley victory was a result of performance enhancing drugs, why didn't any of those reporters call him on his bullshit? Why didn't they ask him why he has firmly opposed all attempts to adopt a zero tolerance policy regarding inappropriate behavior by coaches?

As Joyce reported HERE, "Nearly ten years ago when such a policy was being pushed by coach Dick Shoulberg who had “seen and heard too much”, Leonard, also in no uncertain terms, came out strongly against such a policy. Said Leonard at that time, the “possibility of abuse of this policy against abuse, is huge”, and that “I would work against the adoption of this policy and urge others to do likewise.”"

Numbers of coaches facing accusations allowed to resign quietly, with no reason given...Numbers of hush-hush deals to protect predators, and to protect the name of USA Swimming...Nearly non-existent background screening of coaches...Coach Rick Curl paying the Davies family and signing a non-disclosure agreement after having abused Kelley Davies between the ages of 13-16...Curl has never denied the detailed accusations brought against him from the Davies family...Curl has moved to Australia...Gee, I wonder why! Maybe he knows a shit storm is about to come crashing down on him and USA Swimming....

There are clearly a mountain of breakdowns that have gone on here...It seems almost everyone involved in USA Swimming knows there is a problem with sexual abuse going on...Almost everyone seems afraid to step up and say/do something about it...There has been a massive cover up going on to protect the creeps...And of course, to protect the good name of USA Swimming...It gives you an awful feeling that there may be no one involved in USA Swimming, that isn't a scumbag...

And then there is the failure of the mainstream media, to not dig into this...To not follow up on past stories...To not ask the hard questions...Clearly there were plenty of rumblings, but only Tim Joyce had what it takes to speak up for the kids that had their innocence ripped from them...

My goal for this post is to make as many people aware of what has been happening to kids in the US Swimming program for decades...To make the media aware...And hopefully the work of Tim Joyce will inspire future journalists, and remind the old one of how it should be done...I hope you'll help me spread the word.

Later, The Beeze.
