Monday Moaning
Cute Puppy!
Well, my ten day vacation from work has come to a close...I enjoyed some time with family...Then throughout the week, each of the kids managed to get sick...On my birthday I received well wishes, a shirt that my wife liked, so I just handed it back to her...(she often buys things she likes, so she can steal it)...This is why I just prefer to wear Notre Dame and New York Rangers gear as often as possible....Molly and I went to the bakery, where she picked out cupcakes for us to have...And we ordered little Beeze's cake...He and the oldest were both home sick from school, but managed to pound the cupcakes down before anyone said Happy birthday!
I also got what has become a traditional text from wife on my B-day..."I got my period"...While, frustrating, because damn it, I want birthday sex, it seems to be good news, since she was a month late...(new medication threw her out of whack)
A couple days later, the boy's day was here...Dinner, presents, cake, puke...Yep, he wasn't quite ready for all the goodness...Good times...That Triple chocolate cake just didn't look good coming back up!
But otherwise, he was pleased...
Then the wife and oldest left me alone with molly and sicko Friday, as they went to Philly for a funeral...Philly, Bill Burr SUMMED that place up....
Then came Saturday...Holy fucking College Football fuck-fest! ( the fun started Thursday night)
Yes, some of us are laughing our asses off...For the dopes, L for LSU losing, M for Michigan losing again, those fuck-tards should have fired Hoke...A for Alabama losing...And O for Oregon losing Thursday night...Big shake up in the teams...
Miss State beating Texas A&M early Saturday was just a warm-up...The Aggies were exposed by Arkansas, and Miss St. took the blueprint, and closed the deal that the Razorbacks couldn't...Ole Miss beat Alabama...Auburn took LSU out of any chance of sneaking into playoff talk...TCU shocked Oklahoma...UCLA, who I liked to jump up, after Oregon fell to Arizona, was upset in the late game by Utah...
Guess who didn't lose, while playing Stanford and the #1 defense in the country...NOTRE DAME!
It was odd too...Of all the games I watched this week, these two teams were the only ones I saw play solid, consistent defense...Shit, they've both done that all year, so far...
I watched a lot of college football this week...And I heard a lot of talk, especially from ESPN and the SEC loyalists...(and remember ESPN owns the SEC Network)...They all think a 1 or 2 loss SEC team should get a playoff look over other 1 loss or even some undefeated teams...They still claim to be better, and have more talent...'The Mississippi schools won and are doing well because the SEC is so strong!' Really!?! But when PAC-12 teams beat each other up, they just suck, huh!?! If you paid any attention to who Miss State recruits, you'd realize, it's the kids that Alabama, LSU, Auburn, and Texas A&M, don't even look at...Dan Mullen recruits the 3 and 2 and 1 star kids, and develops the hell out of them...
Seriously, polls have now 1 loss Alabama ranked #7, ahead of multiple undefeated teams, and honestly some better 1 loss teams...I'll put my kids college tuition on 1 loss #17Kansas State over Alabama right now...
So since every week the hacks put out their top 4, or 6, or 8, I'm gonna give you my top 10....
1. Florida State....I hate Winston...Kid should be in jail, or just have the shit kicked out of him, but as a team, they've done what they have to...
2.Auburn...Don't like the SEC, but they are bad-ass...Big game this week against Miss State will hash some shit out...
3. Miss State....Been solid so far...Already took down LSU and A&M...Is Auburn next?
4. Notre Dame...Why? Fuck you, that's why! Seriously, you're never gonna see me put 3 SEC teams in the top 4...Besides, this stage of the season, most teams have played cupcakes, with one or two decent opponents...The Irish had tougher cupcakes then Ole Miss and Baylor...
5. Arizona...Hey, they beat the #2 team in the country straight up...That qualifies for a jump in my book...But it's the PAC-12...Some one will knock them off...This conference loves fucking it's top teams in the ass...
6. Baylor...Strong team people....They were in Oklahoma's shadow, but not anymore...If they make it undefeated until their last game against Kansas State, the Wildcats are gonna get some revenge...
7. Ole Miss...Done what they've had to...Can they keep it going? I don't think so...QB, Bo Wallace is gonna shit the bed at some point...
8. TCU...For now, undefeated gets you a look...But it won't last for the Horn Frogs...
(just because I said that, don't bring up Georgia Tech...They're not getting a seat at my playoff table yet...
9. Michigan State...Had a late scare from Nebraska, but they may help them as a team...Yeah, they have a loss...To Oregon, who they ran with most of the game...And while Oregon has a loss, they're still tough competition...No other big program was willing to open their season at the Ducks home field...
I was gonna put a tie here at 10...Two teams that are impressive...Georgia, and Kansas State...But then I broke it down...Georgia has been carried by RB Todd Gurley...Kansas State is a team...And pretty cock-strong...
10. Kansas State...Big-12, watch your backs!
All this College Football talk, and these Moscow Mules have me tired...Lets mix in something else...
If you see this sidewalk...Get a jackhammer...Shovels, whatever...Fuck this up...Damn sidewalk making the rest of look bad!
Lastly...Here is a video of Molly I took this week...We were chillin' on the couch and she started making these sounds, and moving her fingers like she had a guitar...It was hilarious...
Have a week...

Monday Moaning
I don't know about you, but I'm ready for tonight's game...I've been waiting too long for this...The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will take on the Alabama Crimson Tide for the NCAA, BCS, National Championship...I find it funny how there are so many ND haters, who always complain about the media attention the Irish get...But all I've seen and heard for the last 2 weeks has been people swinging on Alabama and Nick Saban's nuts...hardly anyone is giving the Irish a chance...Who cares that they are an undefeated #1 team...Who cares that the ND defense has only given up 2 rushing TD's and a total of 10 TD's all year...
No that doesn't matter right...Because Alabama is from the big bad SEC...Hmmm...I think Friday night, the SEC's best team played in the Cotton Bowl, as Texas A&M beat the living shit out of Oklahoma...You know, Texas A&M...The same Texas A&M that beat Alabama, in Alabama...Hmmm...How did the rest of the big, bad, SEC schools do in their bowl games...
Overrated LSU was upset by Clemson...(Les Miles is a dolt)...Georgia had to come from behind to beat shitty Nebraska...Vandy won against NC State...Miss State lost to Northwestern...Ole Miss beat Pitt...South Carolina struggled and had to come from behind to beat a sorry Michigan team...Florida....#3 Florida was upset by by #21 Louisville...(33-23 but it wasn't even that close)...Now I look at this and see two teams struggled to beat crappy Big-10 teams, and the two teams that everyone felt at the Alabama level, Florida and LSU, lost their games...While no one gave any love to A&M, the team that beat 'Bama...In my view, this all adds up to the SEC has been overrated this year...A&M was underrated most of the year...And after Monday night I have a feeling SEC guy and 'Bama fan will be searching for an excuse to why the mighty Tide lost...
You can all keep doubting and hating the Irish...Fuck you!
People say you shouldn't say mean things, or wish ill on people...They say, "Bite your tongue." Well the only thing that happens when I bite my tongue is, I get a sore tongue! This is a tongue biting free zone! Fuck Alabama and all the SEC assholes!
Fucking rednecks! Nothing like being born, with three strikes against you already!
-Moving on...There has been a tentative deal struck to end the NHL lockout...There will be a deciding vote Tuesday to see if the deal passes...But everyone has jumped the gun and said there will be a season...Many are very happy about this news....
Me...I don't really care anymore...I have no interest in a possible 50 game season...All this bullshit has lost me for the year...Even if my New York Rangers come out and run the table, it won't matter...It will be a watered down season...A meaningless championship, with an asterisk next to it...Sorry NHL, but you lost me for now...
There was a great Hockey story this weekend, but sadly, it got little mention...The U.S. World Junior team beat Sweden 3-1 Saturday morning to take the Championship...Yep, the U.S.A.
Not Canada...It was the first time since 1998 that Canada didn't take home any medal...That won't go over very well up North...Not Russia...And not Sweden...The U.S.
Suck it world!
-Now...To this fucking Chip Kelly guy...Dude just spent a weekend getting free meals from 3 NFL teams, and getting the twitter-verse all wound up...Mother fuckers were going crazy in the Cleve thinking he was the next Browns coach..Not just local hacks...Even NFL Network and ESPN douches...Everyone saying "Sources are saying Kelly is close to signing with the Browns." These fucking guys and their so called "sources"...Why do you keep using these faceless, nameless "Sources" who are consistently wrong...Kelly moved on to other interviews, and then to another with the Browns...Stuffed his face, and said he's staying at Oregon!
All these inside douchebags and their "Sources" were totally wrong...Shocking! I for one, am glad...Fuck Chip Kelly...He's a college coach, running a college offense that won't translate to the NFL...If it did, there would be some one running it...Plus, I'm sick of this wacky Cleveland idea of giving a guy a NFL head coaching position, who has never done it before...I don't want a college coach...I don't want a hot-shot coordinator...I want a fucking real, proven, NFL head coach...
As for the rest of my weekend, it sucked...It just sucked a big steaming pile of sweaty balls...But all will be better when Notre Dame beats Alabama Monday night...If they don't, I'll still be here, taking shit from the rednecks...Win or lose, they can all eat my ass!
Have a week...

The Beeze's College Football Wrap Up
Well, the BCS Championship Game is set...How? Because the media said so...For a number of years the media has forced it down our throat that the SEC is the best conference in College Football...So they will always say that a one loss SEC team is better then a one loss team from any other conference...They will even tell us a one loss SEC team is better then certain undefeated teams...They refuse to acknowledge that half of the teams in the SEC are garbage...They refuse to look at the fact that these SEC powers often schedule weak non-conference games...Or that they don't travel anywhere out of the south...(with the rare exception that LSU made a couple years ago)
But the media has made it clear that whoever wins the SEC championship will be playing in the National Championship Game...A one loss Oregon team gets no mention...(They didn't win their conference, so maybe they don't deserve it)...No mention for a one loss Kansas State team...Why? Because they aren't sexy...They're not flashy...Ummm, but have you watched Alabama? They aren't very flashy either, squeaking out wins against LSU and Georgia, and losing to Texas A&M at home...Although, those bouncing Alabama tits above are sexy!
So after 'Bama beat Georgia Saturday 32-28, the big game was set...Alabama will face Notre Dame for that big crystal football...And to all you people giving Notre Dame no chance...No expected them to get this far, did they? I'll tell you this...Watch Alabama's games again...Watch ND's games again...I think we are all going to witness a really good game between these two teams...And I think the Irish are going to shock a whole lot of people...Yes, I know you ND haters...Just like I've grown to hate the SEC...So talk all your shit...But when your team loses, I don't want any bullshit excuses...Because if ND loses, I won't play that game...I'll take the shit you throw at me...And I'll rip them for playing like crap if they do so...Anyone who has read my blog knows, while I'm a loyal fan, that doesn't stop me from picking my teams apart...Win or lose, I'll be here...Will you?
As for the rest of this weekend of College Football, I'll be honest...I paid hardly any attention at all...I just didn't care...The kids and I went ice skating...Then we watched a high School hockey game with some friends...Then we went home for dinner, and then I realized there was some football going on...I watched the second half of the 'Bama/Georgia game...Then the Mrs. put on "It's a Wonderful Life"...At the commercials I jumped over to the K-State/Texas game...I paid no attention to the Florida State/ Georgia Tech game, because who really cares...And FSU, you should be ashamed of yourselves for only winning 21-15...
After the kids fell asleep, and the Mrs. went to bed, I put on the rest of the K-State/Texas game...Collin Klein and company back to where they were, beating Texas 42-24...Earlier in the day, Baylor, who has been playing pretty well late in the season, beat #23 Oklahoma State 41-34...
Friday night, for the second time in 2 weeks, UCLA and Stanford put on another good game as they played for the PAC-12 title...The Cardinal held on to a 27-24 win...
In the MAC, it took Northern Illinois 2 OT's to top Kent State 44-37...
And then...Saturday night, there was another game...I had no intention of watching any of it...The Big-10 Championship game...With their two stupid division names..."Leaders" and "Legends"...Wow, the BIG-10 ego is disgusting...Wisconsin vs Nebraska...I had flipped over during a commercial of the K-State game, and saw a Nebraska TD called back because I WR threw an awesome block, and they called the bullshit 'hitting a defenseless player' crap...
BOOM!
You know why this was a bullshit penalty? Because #10 in red has an angle at making a tackle....80 in white is the reason a TD was scored...And the candy ass refs stole it....
That all said, it wasn't going to help Nebraska...From this point on...No one is allowed to talk fondly of Nebraska's "Black Shirt Defense"...I don't ever want to hear about the vaunted "Black Shirts" ever again...Fuck that bullshit...When you give up 216 yards on 9 carries to one running back...Along with giving up 202 yards on 21 carries to another running back...Along with giving up 109 yards on 15 carries to another running back, and a combined 8 rushing TD's....You don't ever get to hype your defense again....Every defensive coach on that staff should be fired...for life!
Wisconsin won the Big-10, 70-31, and it wasn't even that close...
That's all I have...Yes, this post is a bit uninspired...As am I.

The Beeze's College Football Wrap Up
Here Come The Irish!
Here Come The Irish!
Here Come The Irish!
Yeah, the #1 Notre Dame Fighting Irish beat USC, and locked up their spot in the BCS, National Championship Game...So you people are going to have to deal with me being happy about ND going undefeated, and making Rick Reilly look like a bigger asshole then he normally does...
USC may not have been ranked, but this was rivalry week...This was their chance to play spoiler, and even though Notre Dame dominated the game, it wasn't locked up until just under two minutes left on the clock...Although most felt ND had it won when the defense stuffed USC 4 times from the one yard line...Again, the Irish Defense had a huge game, and Manti Te'o added his 7th INT of the season...
ND needed the defense to be big...While the Trojans are having a down year, (I blame their overrated coach, Lane Kiffin) they still have tons of talent, including two of College Football's best WR's...The Defense also needed to play big, because the Irish offense, moved the ball almost at will against USC, they struggled to find the end zone, with the exception of Theo Riddick's 9 yard RD run...Riddick had a total of 146 yards on the ground, and 33 receiving...Everett Golson continued to show his growth at QB...While not putting up huge numbers, and being real flashy, he made no real mistakes, and gave his team the best opportunity to win...
Kicker Kyle Brindza's 5 field goals, including a 52 yarder, kept the Irish ahead on the scoreboard, as they continued the dream season with a 22-13 win...I hate to agree with Lou Holtz, because he annoys the shit out of me, like most people on ESPN, but he may be right...This seems like a "team of destiny."
And now I say this...Bring me whatever SEC team you want...That's what it's going to take to shut up the Irish haters...Beat a SEC team in the big game...So lets do it!
-Like I said, this week was rivalry week...(#2)Alabama destroyed their sorry ass rival Auburn 49-0...
(#3)Georgia destroyed their rival Georgia Tech 42-10...(#4)Florida battled rival (#10)Florida State in what was actually a watchable, and entertaining game...The Gators won 37-26...(#12) South Carolina took on rival (#11) Clemson...Of all these SEC/ACC rivalries this was the one I thought the ACC would take...But after being down at the half, the Gamecocks came back, lead by backup QB Dylan Thompson, who passed for 310 yards and 3 TD's...Clemson QB Tajh Boyd had just been getting a touch Heisman talk, and Saturday night he fell on his face, and the Clemson Offense just couldn't get it together...
(#5)Oregon bounced back from their loss last week to (#8) Stanford, to beat Rival (#15)Oregon State in the "Civil War" 48-24...Friday, in battle for "The Apple Cup" Washington State looked like they were done, but came back scoring 21 unanswered points to beat (#25)Washington in OT 31-28...In Arizona, it seems every time the (#24) Wildcats get something going, they stumble...And it happened again this week, as the ASU Sun Devils beat their rival 41-34 in a high powered, offensive battle...
Also on Friday TCU looking to prove they belong in the Big-12, beat (#16)Texas 20-13...Staying in the Big-12, Saturday (#13) Oklahoma's QB Landry Jones passed for 500 yards and 3 TD's against (#21) Oklahoma State...You would think that might mean the Sooners blew them up...But that wasn't the case, as it took until OT for the Sooners to pull out the 51-48 win...
After moving to the SEC, it seems (#9)Texas A&M has to find a new rivalry game...But they do have something special...Freshman, Heisman hopeful, QB, Johnny Manziel...This kid has been on fire, and after Kansas State's loss last week, and not having a game this week...The door for Manziel to shine even more, swung wide open...Saturday against Missouri, Manziel went out and told Heisman voters, 'it might be time for freshman to take home the trophy' as he passed for 372 and 3 TD's...And rushed for 67 yards and 2 more TD's leading the Aggies to a 59-29 victory...
Then of course, there was the infamous Ohio State vs. (#19) Michigan game...The Buckeyes looking to go undefeated, and play for pride, since they aren't eligible to play for anything else...Let ms just say this...What a sloppy game...Michigan turned it over 4 times...Ohio State 2 times...Then there was the penalties...9 for 74 yards against the Buckeyes...Seriously, it's the last game of the year, you should be past that crap...It often seemed like OSU was shooting themselves in the foot...But when the other team turns it over 4 times, they're helping you as much as your penalties help them...Ohio State managed to pull out a 26-21 win ...Buckeye fans were all so excited for their "Perfect Season"...Perfect, except you get nothing! No Bowl...No Conference championship...No shot at the BCS...Just another buckeye sticker for your helmet...Enjoy that!
And Michigan, 8-4...How the mighty have fallen...Well Big Ten, at least you have Maryland and Rutgers coming to toughen up the conference!
That's it for now...

The Beeze's College Football Wrap Up
Guess who's gonna be #1......
That's right Rick Reilly, you fucking asshole! You stupid fucking cocksucker! What was that you said about Notre Dame being irrelevant? You stupid fuck-stain...11-0...About to be ranked #1...And getting ready to take on a scuffling #18 USC team, lead by one of the most grossly overrated coaches ever....Lane Kiffin with a team full of talent...taking their 4th loss of the season Saturday, getting worked 38-28 by #17 UCLA...
And how did this happen for #3 Notre Dame...Well Saturday they did what they needed to do...They blasted Wake Forest in South Bend, on Senior Day, 38-0...And Brian Kelly seemed to like opening up the playbook a bit more against the Demon Deacons...
But then Saturday night the other pieces started falling into place...#1 Kansas State went to Baylor, and looked like they had their heads up their asses...Rare, and stupid penalties...Sloppy play...And Baylor's defense did something unusual...They showed up and played tough D...Collin Klein and company struggled all night and his 3 INT's and this loss, most likely killed his chance at the Heisman...And if you guys have paid attention to my college football posts this season, you know I've been all in with K-State and Klein...So while Baylor laid their 52-24 beating on the Wildcats, was great for my Irish, I was slightly bummed...
But wait...It got better...All night, up in #2 Oregon, #13 Stanford's defense was holding the Ducks offense in check...Late in the game, Oregon is up 14-7...But the Cardinal D kept the team in it...And the offense drove down field and tied the game at 14 with just over a minute and a half left...The game went to OT...Stanford held the Ducks to a field goal attempt...Missed! After a few plays, Stanford kicker Jordan Williamson punched a 37 yard field goal through the uprights....Game over! Bye bye Ducks!
My only problem with the events of Saturday, is now this will allow the arrogant SEC fans to talk about their conference champ playing for the BCS title....#4 Alabama fans are already getting wood, thinking their team is going to roll over Notre Dame...It must be easy to talk tough after you blast Western Carolina 49-0...Nice scheduling! Yes they think their Tide is the cat's ass when blasting cupcakes, and they just try to blackout those struggles against good teams...
But 'Bama wasn't the only big bad SEC team to play cupcakes Saturday...#6 Florida played Jacksonville State...#5 Georgia played Georgia Southern....#9 South Carolina played Wofford...#8 Texas A&M played Sam Houston State...What the hell is that? Even worse, A&M gave up 28 points...Yes, they won 47-28...But 28 points to SHSU...At least #7 LSU stayed in conference, struggling to beat Ole Miss 41-35...Yeah SEC fans, please keep telling us all how tough your teams are!
-This week's shootout once again comes from the Big-12...#12 Oklahoma went to West Virginia...Hey how do they celebrate Halloween in West Virginia? They Pump kin!
The Sooners put up 662 total yards, 554 of that through the air...WV put up 458 on the ground and and 320 through the air...In a back and forth battle the Sooners scored last, with 24 seconds left, to win 50-49...
-You know, I mentioned the top teams...But there is another undefeated team...Yes, after beating Wisconsin 21-14, the Ohio State Buckeyes are sitting around with a perfect record, and wondering why they decided to take their Bowl Ban this year, instead of last year...
-There was another big Saturday...Maybe not on a national scale...But it is known as "The Game." Yale at Harvard...Sure, Yale is a 2-8 team and Harvard is a 8-2 team...But this is Harvard vs. Yale...Just like all big rivalry games...None of the other stuff matters...Both teams are bringing everything they have and laying it all on the line...While it was only on the NBC Sports channel, I was glad to see some one showing it...These Ivy League kids deserve to get some pub. too!
Harvard was up 27-24 late, and looking to run out the clock, but when senior running back Trevor Scales broke free on a 3rd and 13 run, there was no stopping him from getting into the end zone 63 yards later, as the Crimson went on to win 34-24...Scales finished the day with 177 yards and that TD...Harvard QB Colton Chapple rushed for 128 yards and a TD himself, while also passing for 209 yards and 2 more TD's...
-Lets close this out with this week's Notre Dame highlights....
That's it, until tomorrow...

The Beeze's College Football Wrap Up
This week we start out with the great and powerful SEC, and their premiere team (#1) Alabama'a match up with SEC newcomer (#15) Texas A&M, who finished 6th in the Big-12 last year...Oh, what ever could the lowly Aggies do against the almighty Crimson Tide?
Let's switch that to Crimson Stain....Because 'Bama shit the bed Saturday, falling behind A&M 20-0 in the first quarter...Alabama struggled to fight their way back, and got themselves in position to take the lead...29-24 A&M is ahead..."Bama is driving...And then they shit the bed some more, as A. J. McCarron threw an INT at the goal line with a minute and a half left...
But wait, there's more...The Aggies ran the ball three times...'Bama holds, and uses time outs to save as much clock as possible...4th and short...A&M set to punt...'Bama jumps the neutral zone...FIRST DOWN AGGIES! Game over! Eat a dick overrated Alabama...And eat a dick overrated SEC...As every team you have tried to hang your hat on this season, has fallen on their face!
Aggies young, star QB, Johnny Manziel had a big day, passing for 253 yards, and 2 TD's, while rushing for 92 yards...This kid has a bright future ahead of him folks!
-Next we take a look at another SEC darling...(#7) Florida who was at home against Louisiana-Lafayette...This game was way too close if you're a Gator fan...How close? Florida returned a blocked punt for a TD wit two seconds left, to take the lead, and win...Yes, Florida has had a better team than people expected, but when you struggle against ULL, it proves you weren't ready for prime time...
-Speaking of not ready for prime time...(#9) Louisville did what all Big East teams do...Remind us that the Big East is garbage...The Cardinals went down to Syracuse...Syracuse...Thanks to Louisville, these Orange dopes are now a .500 team...Louisville gave up 278 rushing yards to the 'Cuse, as the Orange won 45-26....Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater passed for 424 yards and 3 TD's, and it just wasn't going to be enough on senior day in Syracuse...
-(#2) Kansas State went to Fort Worth to take on TCU, looking to jump up to the #1 spot, with Alabama falling to Texas A&M...Collin Klein and company didn't put up huge numbers this, as they battled and grinded out a tough 23-10 win against the Horn Frogs...The talking heads already have (#3) Oregon leap-frogging to number 1, but I've got K-State at the top spot...Especially since, as I write this, Cal is only down 17-10 against the Ducks, and it's almost halftime...Normally Oregon has hung 50 on teams by this point...
-The (#11) Oregon State Beavers were having a heck of a season until they took their second loss in three weeks...This time at the hands of the (#14) Stanford Cardinal, 27-23...With Cal and Oregon left, Oregon State's season is just going to get tougher...While Stanford heads to Oregon and then to UCLA to finish out their year...I guess their road won't be too easy either...
-Next up, the (#4) Notre Dame Fighting Irish went to Chestnut Hill to face Boston College...
The Irish pounded out 3 long scoring drives, one in each of the first three quarters...They also had another good one going in the 2nd, but it was ended by a George Atkinson fumble...the first of two fumbles forced by BC...Both were good defensive plays, but the Irish defense made sure to keep the Eagles out of the end zone, as the Irish stayed undefeated with a 21-6 victory...
It seems each week, we see a little bit more growth, and confidence in red-shirt freshman QB, Everett Golson...Saturday he passed for 200 yards and 2 TD's, and rushed for 39 yards and another TD...Theo Riddick showed off his versatility rushing for 104 yards and catching 4 passes for 56yards...TE Tyler Eifert continued to improve his draft stock, with 6 catches for 67 yards...But more then that, the most improvement in his game, has been in his blocking...NFL teams gotta love a 6-6, 250 pound TE with great hands, good speed, great jumping ability, and excellent blocking skills...
Next for the Irish, they'll be at home against Wake Forest...Then they head to (#19) USC to finish out the season...The Trojans by the way, worked over Arizona State, 38-17...
-This week's Big Ten highlights...That just sounds silly...The Big Ten is such crap this year...Nothing like your conference's best team being under sanctions, so everything they do means nothing...
(#16) Nebraska had to come from behind to beat Pedo-Cover-Up University, 32-23...Then Michigan beat (#24) Northwestern 38-31 in OT...
-As for (#3) Oregon at Cal...While the Bears have been playing tough, the Ducks have started to do their thing, and have gone up 45-17at the start the 4th quarter...So I'm assuming they will hold on to win...I'm off to bed...We'll see tomorrow...
Feel free to add your two cents...

The Beeze's College Football Wrap Up
Well, some might say it would be foolish if I didn't start off with the weekend's biggest game...Of course it wasn't the biggest game in my world...It was the biggest game in the great big hype machine...(#1) Alabama at (#5) LSU...Miles vs. Saban...The rematch of the rematch...LSU has been overrated all year...'Bama has had an easy schedule so far...So what would we get Saturday with these two "power house" programs, and these two coaching "Geniuses"...
More of the same over-hyped crap!
Good defense for the most part...Sloppy offense...Alabama was up 14-3 at the half...But in the second half, LSU Quarterback, Zach Mettenberger started doing something we haven't seen from him before...He started playing like a confident, big-time college QB...While the Tide's A.J. McCarron seemed to fall apart, and look like crap...
Mettenberger lead the Tigers to a 17-14 lead...No thanks to his head coach, Les Miles he kept making risky calls...Calls he is known for making, and usually screw his team...Like the fake field goal he called, that Alabama was fully expecting, and stuffed it right away...The On-side kick, that his kicker botched...Going for a fourth and short late, instead of kicking a field goal, and adding to his team's lead...He kept giving Alabama chances to stay in the game...And they did, with little time left...Because Miles, who's defense had been pressuring McCarron the whole second half...And had been playing tight, press coverage, decided to rush 3, and go all prevent defense...You know, prevent D, that prevents nothing...All the sudden McCarron is completing passes, and leading the Tide on 72 yard game winning drive...
21-17 Alabama...LSU players, you did well...Your coach didn't! Alabama, got the win, but some weaknesses were shown...
- The big game for me, was of course, (#3) Notre Dame at home versus Pitt...The Irish were coming off their huge win at Oklahoma, and I along with many feared a letdown...For 3 quarters the Defense was not what we have seen all year...Even Manti Te'o seemed off, until the fourth quarter...The offense which has been inconsistent most of the season, was again Saturday...After 3 quarters Pitt was ahead 20-6...But this time, coach Kelly didn't turn to veteran QB Tommy Rees to try and finish it...Rees had been in earlier, and threw one of his classic picks...Kelly Stuck with the kid, Golson, and we saw another stage of his growth...
Golson used his arm and his legs to get the Irish back...Passing for 227 yards and 2 TD's...And running for 74 yards and another TD...And also the game tying 2-point conversion...Mind you, this wouldn't have been possible had the Irish defense not stepped up and done what they have done all year...They took control of the game back...Then it was overtime...
The first both teams traded field goals...The second, Cierre Wood fumbled while airborne, about to cross the goal line, and the Irish were held off the board...The ND defense held their ground, forcing Pitt to kick a game winning field goal...Wide right...Holy Shit...Third OT, Pitt is held to a field goal...Golson and company drive the ball to the goal line...And then he punched it in on a QB sneak...Irish win 29-26, and go to 9-0...
I saw people on Twitter bashing ND, as usual...One twat saying Irish fans have to feel dirty about the whole undefeated thing...These are the same people that always say, "a win is a win" when their shitty team squeaks out a win...But there's always a double standard when it comes to ND...Fuck that, one standard will do just fine...Notre Dame is 9-0...All that matters is wins and loses, and is doesn't matter how you get them...So Blow me!
- (#2) Kansas State remained undefeated after beating (#24) Oklahoma State 44-30...This game wasn't as close as the score shows...And had K-State not pulled Collin Klein in the 3rd Quarter after an undisclosed injury, I'm assuming the Wildcats would have extended the lead a bit more...By that point Klein had passed for 245 yards and rushed for 64 more, with a TD...By the way he seemed on the sidelines, it didn't appear like a major injury, but Coach Snyder declining to discuss it after the game, has to make K-State fans worry a little...
- In the 'What the Fuck is defense Game' (#4) Oregon went down south to face (#17) USC....The first punt in this game didn't occur until mid-way through the fourth quarter...The Ducks put up 730 total yards of offense, while the Trojans racked up 615 yards...But the stand out player, without a doubt, had to be Oregon's Kenjon Barner, who rushed for 321 yards and 5 TD's, leading the Ducks to a 62-51 victory...
Seriously, Oregon is a fucking offensive, ass-kicking machine, but they should be worried about their defense...Sooner or later, they're going to have a game where some one D's up on them, and they won't be able to play backyard football..."Next team that scores, wins!"
And Trojans...That was the most points ever to be scored on any USC team...EVER...Your team isn't going to win shit, but at least you can hold your heads high knowing that you have that record!
(#12) Oklahoma bounced back from last weeks loss to Notre Dame, and topped Iowa State 35-20...
(#7) Florida squeaked past Missouri 14-7...I've got a feeling the Gators hearts weren't in it after last week's loss to Georgia, ending their perfect season...
(#16) Texas A&M throttled (#15) Miss State 38-13...This one may have just proven that up until last week's loss to Alabama, the Bulldogs haven't played anyone...Now after the Aggies Johnny Manziel passed for 311 yards, and rushed for 129 and 2 TD's, Miss State will have to face an angry LSU next week...
-Then there is the undefeated team, no one talks about...(#10) Louisville...Why is no one talking about the Cardinals...Because they play in the Big East...Big deal, they blew out Temple 45-17...That's what good teams are suppose to do...Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater passed for 324 yards and 5 TD's...But the real question from this game is, how did they give up 17 points to Temple?
-As I'm writing this, UCLA is beating the hell out of (#22) Arizona...It's 59-10...Not what I was expecting...Feel free to update me on the score, I won't be wasting anymore time on that...
- (#11) Oregon State is up 36-19 on Arizona State, and the Sun Devils just threw a pick with under 6 minutes left, so I'm going to chalk up another win for the Beavers...( edit: 36-26 final )
- (#20) Nebraska snuck out of East Lansing with a 28-24 comeback win over Michigan State...I didn't see the game...I didn't see any highlights yet, but I saw Michigan State running back Le'Veon Bell tweet that the refs in this game were "the toughest team we've faced all year." And something like the refs beat them...The tweet has been deleted, of course...I'm sure a coach got to him...He better lock it down, because in the NFl that shit will get you fined and suspended...
- TCU went for two during the first overtime at (#21) West Virginia, and converted, knocking off the Mountaineers 39-38...
-Staying in the Big-12, (#23) Texas beat (#18) Texas Tech 31-22...I was expecting this to be a big-time scoring affair...I was also expecting Tech to come out on top of what I thought would be a shootout...College Football...Just never know what's going to happen....
-Lastly, all those who hate (#19) Boise State will be happy, as the Broncos were upset by San Diego State 21-19...
That's it for now...Feel free to drop in your 2 cents...See ya Monday...

The Beeze's College Football Wrap Up
Yeah, it wasn't a good night for Landry Jones and the (#8) Oklahoma Sooners...The (#5) Fighting Irish did what they have done all year...They played, tough, hard-nosed defense...They ran the ball well...215 yards well...They didn't turn the ball over...Limited mistakes...and made big plays when they needed to...
Everett Golson played his cleanest game of the season, and coach Brian Kelly seemed to have no lack of confidence in him when calling the plays...Especially after the Sooners tied the game in the fourth quarter...The Irish came right back, as Golson hit freshman WR Chris Brown with a 50 yard pass...Which setup a Golson TD run five plays later...
After that, it was Manti Te'o intercepting Jones, after Dan Fox broke up a pass to Jalen Saunders, that popped up in the air...Te'o dove for it, and kept it off the ground...The Irish added a field goal...Then Theo Riddick added on a late TD run making the final 30-13 Irish!
The Irish defense held the Sooners to just 15 yards on the ground, forcing them to be one dimensional, and refused to let Oklahoma get off a big play...While the game was tight for 3 plus quarters, it seemed like the Irish were in control all night...I hate to sound like Lou Holtz, but this team really is starting to look like a "team of destiny."
And all critics out there have been pointing at this game for a few weeks now...'If Notre Dame beats Oklahoma then I'll take them seriously." These are the same people who said the Irish had the nations toughest schedule in their pre-season bullshit, and are now saying the ND schedule is weak...Well, critics...Are you ready to take ND seriously...Rick Reilly, you fucking cunt, is Notre Dame relevant now!?! Yes, they are...You aren't...Do everyone a favor Reilly...Quit your day job, douchebag!
You all know I've been all in with Collin Klein and (#3) Kansas State this year...Well, this week's game with (#15) Texas Tech, had me worried...The Red Raiders can really put up points...
But Klein made it clear, that there was nothing to worry about, as he passed for 233 yards and 2 TD's and rushed for 83 yards and 2 more TD's, leading the hard-nosed Wildcats to a 55-24 victory...
After Saturday's games, the top two guys in the Heisman race have to be Klein, and Manti Te'o...You know I've been hyping Klein all year, but a LB getting the Heisman would be great!
Both Notre Dame and K-State got help in the BCS rankings as (#10) Georgia beat (#2) Florida 17-9 in a sloppy, defensive battle...Why do I say sloppy? Florida had 10 penalties for 95 yards...and turned the ball over 6 times...Georgia had 14 penalties for 132 yards and turned it over 3 times...None of that high-powered SEC offense in this one...
Staying in the SEC, we may have seen the last of South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore, after one of the worst leg injuries I have ever seen...
That shit was brutal...An early report says "Lattimore tore every ligament in his knee, plus a broken femur, plus a broken knee cap." Can anyone come back from that? Does anyone want to? This kid has been looking at such a bright future, and has ended every season early because of injuries...Just sad...
Lattimore's (#13) Gamecocks had to fight on after seeing their leader carted off to the hospital...They managed to hang and win 38-35 over Tennessee...
#11 Miss State is no longer undefeated after running into the buzz-saw that is #1 Alabama...The Tide rolled right over them, 38-7...
In the PAC-12, USC has been holding on to hope of sneaking back into the BCS picture...The they want to Arizona and that idea got kicked in the ass, as the Wildcats, who always say "Bear Down" I don't know why, beat the Trojans 39-36...Key stat...USC turned it over 5 times...No Heisman for Barkley...No Championship for Kiffin, Barkley, and the Trojans...And big smile on my face!
#24 Ohio University's dream of a perfect season ended Saturday at rival, Miami of Ohio, as the Bobcats lost 23-20...Miami is not having a good year, but they'll always be up for their rival...With 9 seconds left, the Bobcats had no timeouts...Instead of trying to kick the field goal for the tie, and take it to OT...The Bobcats took a crack at one more play to go for the win...QB Tyler Tettleton was sacked and time ran out...Great balls, but that's a tough way to go...
Staying in the MAC...Kent read, Kent write, Kent State went to undefeated (#15) Rutgers and put another Big East team in their place...The Golden Flashes upset the Scarlet Knights 35-23...The MAC is now 4-0 against the Big East this year...Cincy lost to Toledo last week, ending their undefeated season...The Bearcats gave (#16) Louisville a scare Friday night, but the Cardinals pulled out a 34-31 OT win...Now Rutgers goes down...Who will knock off Louisville? Sadly, they didn't schedule any MAC schools...
In the late game, we lost another undefeated team as #7 Oregon State was beaten 20-17 by Washington...Again, turnovers is the key stat...Oregon State QB Sean Mannion playing his first game in 3 weeks after injury, threw 4 INT's...When they finally yanked him for Cody Vaz, it was too late...Washington had the momentum and were able to hang on for the win.
That's it for this week...See ya Monday...

The Beeze's College Football Wrap Up
Saturday afternoon brought a match up between two Heisman hopefuls...Two Big-12 QB's...(#13...all rankings used this week reflect the BCS rankings) West Virginia's Geno Smith, was looking to lead his team to bounce back win after last week's loss to Texas Tech...Standing in his way was my Heisman sleeper, (#4) Kansas State QB, Collin Klein and the undefeated Wildcats...
I was expecting this game to be a real battle...K-State has played excellent defense all season, but I thought this game may push them a bit more, especially with WV coming off last weeeek's loss...But instead, it was a blow-out...K-State's defense, and ball control offense dominated...And the domination was lead by Klein...Klein passed for 323 yards and 3 TD's, while also rushing for 41 yards and 4 more TD's...The Wildcats romped, 55-14...
Not to toot my own horn, (okay maybe a little) but I called for RG3 as the Heisman winner last year in my pre-season predictions...And this year, I had Klein as one of my dark-horses...It's time to start paying attention to the Beeze kids...I've got this shit covered! I also called for K-State to shock the Big-12 this year, and they're doing that people...
Sticking in the Big-12, we may have this week's No Defense Bowl...(#17) Texas Tech was back at racking up points...This week against (#23) TCU...Tech QB Seth Doege was looking to pick up where he left off last week...This week he threw for 318 yards and 7 TD's in a triple overtime thriller...With his Red Raiders squeaking out a 56-53 victory...
Those two teams just beat out Texas and Baylor in points, as Texas held on to beat the Bears 56-50...They love scoring in the Big-12!
In the SEC, (#7) South Carolina went to (#2) Florida, looking to save their season after last week's loss to LSU...Instead, Florida killed off the Gamecocks hopes of an SEC title, rolling to a 44-11 win...Actually South Carolina helped the Gators quite a bit, turning the ball over 4 times, and giving the Gators great field position...You can't win on the road doing that...Shit, Spurrier and the 'Cocks, never seem to be able to win on the road...
Then there was the (#6) LSU at (#18) Texas A&M...Everyone was excited to see A&M QB, Johnny Manziel take on LSU's highly-touted defense, after his un-Godly stats last week...And LSU knew stopping Manziel was the key to them winning...Now, when you look at the numbers from this game, you may find yourself scratching your head, and thinking, 'How did LSU win 24-19?' There's only one stat you have to look at...Turnovers: LSU-0...A&M-5...You can gain all the yards you want...You can have less penalties...You can convert 3rd downs all you want...But if you keep coughing up the ball, you're screwed! Fucking Aggies...Way to keep LSU's hopes alive...Dicks!
In the Big-Ten, Michigan may have won a 12-10 snooze fest against Michigan State, but Sparty here looks like the real winner!
Ohio State had a scare Saturday...Well, two actually...First they spent Saturday struggling against Purdue...Then QB Braxton Miller was knocked out of the game, and taken to the hospital...Kenny Guiton helped lead the Buckeyes from behind...Tie the game...And then win it 29-22 in OT...Reports are saying Miller is fine, and was taken to the hospital to be checked out for a concussion...
Now, to the (#5) Notre Dame Fighting Irish, at home taking on BYU...
Lots of people were talking about this game, possibly being a problem for the Irish...1. Coming off the big OT win last week against Stanford, and 2. Looking ahead to next week against Oklahoma...Me, I wasn't concerned about that...Brian Kelly doesn't let his teams look ahead...My concerns were about Everrett Golson not starting/playing after leaving last week's game with a concussion...Kelly started Tommy Rees, and said Golson wouldn't play...They're being careful with the kid, and I can respect that...But with Rees you lose a big chunk of your playbook...He doesn't have the mobility...You also lose Golson's escape-ability, and improv skills...Also with Rees there is the fear of him having his eyes glued to his primary receiver, and throwing picks...
So how did the Irish handle it...They played tough defense and ball-control offense...Even after being down 14-7 at halftime, Kelly stayed patient with the offense, and kept pounding away at BYU...They didn't put it all on Rees to win it...Afterwards, people called the 17-14 Notre Dame win, "ugly"...You know what, if my team rushes the ball for 270 yards, and wins...Fuck you...Call it ugly if you want, but my guys just pounded your ass for 270 on the ground and won...I'd call that an ugly loss for BYU!
Cierre Wood here, gained 114 yards on 18 carries...While Theo Riddick (at the top of this section) rushed for 143 yards on 15 carries...
The Irish are now 7-0 and head to Oklahoma next week, to face the Sooners in prime-time...This, with out a doubt will be the toughest game yet for Notre Dame...Oklahoma has been out to make a statement since their loss to Kansas State...Notre Dame and K-State both play tough D, and ball control offense...This should really be a good game...And I'll bet the TV ratings are going to be huge for ABC...
The Big East was feeling good about having 3 teams in the BCS standings...Well, they lost one for sure this week as (#21) Cincinnati went to the Glass Bowl to face Toledo, and was stunned with a 29-23 loss...The Rockets jumped out to an early 10-0 lead...They were still up at halftime, 16-13...after 3 quarters it Toledo was up 26-20, and held on for the upset victory...
(#16) Louisville also had a bit of a scare as BJ Daniels and the USF Bulls surged late to try and steal one in Louisville...With under 4 minutes left USF went ahead 25-21...But Cardinals QB Teddy Bridgewater brought his team right back and went back on top 27-25 with a minute and a half left...
PAC-12 surprise team (#8) Oregon State remained undefeated after grinding out a 21-7 win over Utah...
The Surprise in the ACC...Besides Virginia Tech sucking...It has to be the fact that Duke...Fucking basketball playing Duke, is 3-1 in conference, and 6-2 overall, and leading the Coastal Division...That said, their next two games at Florida State, and home against Clemson...So their season may come crashing down around them, but still, they're playing football at Duke finally!
That's it for this week...Feel free to give your two cents about the games you were following...

The Beeze's College Football Wrap Up
Each week I do this wrap up, and each week I include what happened in the Notre Dame game...I don't always lead with it, and I try to stay semi-objective, and not get to rah-rah, go Irish! But screw it...This week I may have to...I've heard, and read too much of people shitting on Notre Dame and their undefeated start to this season...People saying their schedule is weak...The same schedule that every publication, and every poll said at the start of the season was the toughest in the country...Who knew Michigan State was actually going to repeatedly blow games? Maybe it's time everyone realizes that preseason polls and rankings are mostly guess work...
Saturday's game in South Bend between #17 Stanford and the #7 Irish was hyped up all week...Everyone saying it's Notre Dame's biggest game...Their real test...Well, those Notre Dame kids know how to to take tests...Once again, the Irish defense lead by captain Manti Te'o, didn't give up a touchdown...That's right, four straight games without giving up a TD...The one Stanford got was scored by their defense on a sack/fumble in the end zone...And this was without a doubt, a defensive battle...Both teams were hitting hard...Both defenses causing turnovers...
Stanford was up 10-3 at halftime...But the Irish battled back, and with under a minute left, they knocked through the tying field goal...Then it was OT...The Irish scored first...Then the defense was pushed to the limit, but held their ground at the goal-line...Stuffing Stanford 4 times inside the 5...twice at the goal-line...Winning 20-13...
Yes, there are people saying the Stanford running back wasn't down on the last attempt, and eventually squeaked over the line...But the replay couldn't prove them right, because the refs had already blown the play dead before he wrenched himself over...The game was already over...Take your crying somewhere else...The Irish won...They are now 6-0...And they should be ranked in the top 5...You don't like it...Either beat them, or fuck off!
Here's the highlights...
The Big-12 had it's premiere game of the season...The infamous, "Red River Shootout"...Sadly, it wasn't the battle of two Big-12 powers that people were hoping to see...Instead it was a 63-21 ass beating of #15 Texas at the hands of rival #13 Oklahoma...And that score...Well, it wasn't even that close...The second week in a row that I was shocked by the lack of defense from Texas...
But there was a Texas team that finally showed up with some D...#5 West Virginia brought their high-octane offense to Lubbock, Texas to take on Texas Tech...I was expecting another Big-12 game full of all offensive highlights from both teams...Just like WV's games against Texas and Baylor...But Tech decided to mix in some D, in a game that Vegas had the "over" just under 80...
While WV's Geno Smith played well, he was not this week's star...Instead it was the Red Raiders' QB Seth Doege, who passed for 499 yards, and 6 TD's...Leading his team to a 49-14 win...Hey WV, maybe it's time you start practicing some defense, because hoping you can out dual everyone in shoot-outs isn't gonna cut it...
This game leaves #6 Kansas State at the top of the Big-12, after they won a close one with Iowa State...27-21...Again, it was QB Collin Klein leading the Wildcats to victory, and a 6-0 record...Klein passed for 187 yards, and rushed for 105yards and 3 TD's...But pay attention people...Iowa State, who no one expected to do much this year, is 4-2, and playing tough...
Now we get to the big prime-time match up in the SEC...#3 South Carolina at (shouldn't be) #9 LSU...LSU finally found some offense, mostly on the ground, gaining 258 yards rushing...While their defense, held Marcus Lattimore and the Gamecocks to just 34 yards on the ground...And yet, South Carolina had a 14-10 lead after 3 quarters...But LSU kept pounding, and eventually won 23-21...
The two biggest stats from this game, in my eyes are, Connor Shaw's two interceptions thrown, and South Carolina converting on only 3 of 13, 3rd downs...When they needed to burn clock, they couldn't...And they stalled on too many drives...LSU's defense is the key to their team...Will they be able to find a passing game to go along with their new found, power running?
In another good SEC game, Tennessee went to Starkville to take on #19 Mississippi State...While the Volunteers are now 3-3, they have shown improvement and toughness this year...The Bulldogs were ahead 27-14 at halftime...Half-way through the 4th quarter their lead was only 34-31...But Miss State QB, Tyler Russell and company were too much for the Vols, winning 41-31...Russell passed for 291 yards and 2 TD's...
Don't look now, but #10 Oregon State is 5-0 after rolling BYU 42-24 Saturday...And they did that with their backup QB, Cody Vaz, who hasn't started since high school...Vaz decided to make a good first impression by passing for 332 yards and 3 TD's...That's nice when the backup can put a game like that together...I'm just saying, if I see USC or Stanford ranked ahead of of the Beavers this week, in any poll, that poll has no credibility at all...
And this week's battle of no defense goes to Texas A&M and #23 Louisiana Tech...In a game that came down to the very end, Texas A&M squeaked out a 59-57 win...A&M put up 691 total yards, while Tech racked up 616 total yards...The Aggies offense was lead by QB Johnny Manziel who passed for 396 yards and 3 TD's...He added 3 more TD's and 181 yards on the ground...Tech's QB, Colby Cameron passed for 449 yards and 5 TD's...And his top target was Quinton Patton, who caught 21 passes for 233 yards and 4 TD's...
Second place for the no defense bowl this week was Ohio State and Indiana...I don't include Ohio State's ranking, because they aren't eligible for anything this year, so the ranking is voided in my eyes...The Buckeyes showed some big offense again this week, putting up 578 yards and 52 points on the Hoosiers...Hey, Indiana is a joke when it comes to football, so who's surprised by this? No one...It's the fact that Indiana hung 481 yards and 49 points on Ohio State...Yeah, the Buckeyes won, but they should slap the shit out of themselves for that defensive performance...
That's it for this week's wrap up...Feel free to leave the highlights of the games you were paying attention to...See ya Monday...

The Beeze's College Football Wrap Up
We'll start this week with one of the day's early games...Big-12 and state rivals, Kansas at #7 Kansas State...If you paid attention to my pre-season predictions, and now my weekly wrap up, you know I'm all in with Collin Klein and Kansas State taking the Big-12 title this year...I have to say, early in this game I was a bit nervous...Charlie Weiss was pulling everything he could out of the playbook, and by halftime the Jayhawks were only down 21-14...But that was it...The Wildcats defense buckled down, and the offense rolled...Klein passed for 129 yards and 2 TD's, while rushing for 116 and two more TD's...K-State drilled the Jayhawks 56-16...
The other early game I was bouncing to was from the MAC...Buffalo was visiting the Bobcats at Ohio U...And things didn't look good early for undefeated Ohio, as Buffalo jumped out to an early 14-0 lead...Ohio battled back and had the lead at halftime...Buffalo kept swinging and had the game tied after 3 quarters...The Bobcats pulled ahead and held on for 38-31 win, even though Buffalo had out gained them in yardage, and had a 10 minute TOP advantage on them...I'm sure this was a good reminder that the Bobcats can't coast though their MAC schedule...
I hadn't planned on writing about the #3 Florida State at NC State game, but now I have to...As I started writing this, I saw NC State was hanging in there...And then they did it...On fourth down, with time running out, Mike Glennon connected with Bryan Underwood for a game tying, 2 yards TD pass...And with the extra point. NC State took a 17-16 lead, and held on for the last few seconds to win...Love seeing FSU...Love seeing an upset live like that...And I was shocked to not see the NC State fans storm the field...Very odd to see a big conference upset like this, and not see the student body go bat-shit!
Now lets go to the SEC...I have never found myself rooting for #10 Florida...But today I was, as they took on #4 LSU...I have grown to hate LSU, and their obnoxious fans who think LSU is God's gift to football...Well, your team may have put some points up on Towson, but they didn't do shit against a real defense like Florida...And then Florida's offense just went ball-control all over your ass, hanging onto the ball for 37 minutes and change...The Gators won 14-6 and are now 5-0...
The other big game in the SEC was suppose to be #5 Georgia at #6 South Carolina...Instead it was an ass beating as South Carolina rushed for 230 yards on their way to a 35-7 victory...and that 230 yards doesn't count the 70 yard punt return for a TD by Ace Sanders... South Carolina QB Connor Shaw looked really good as well...This kid is coming along, and the fact that Spurrier doesn't seem to be screwing with his head too much may be a big reason why...But it all started the Gamecocks defense getting into Georgia QB, Aaron Murray's face, and head early...Just a dominating effort...And with Georgia taking the loss, along with LSU's loss, the SEC is looking more interesting...Game to watch next week, South Carolina at Florida...Should be a hell of a game!
Now, before I get into any other games, I have to get to my Fighting Irish...
Manti Te'o and the dominating #9 Fighting Irish defense took to Soldier field to renew an old rivalry with the Miami Hurricanes...I have to say I was a bit worried about Miami's speed, but once they dropped a few passes, on balls that had the secondary beat, the Irish defense woke up and held Miami to just a field goal...It also helped the defense that Notre Dame held onto the ball for over 39 minutes, and rushed for 376 yards...This was an old fashioned ass beating...The Irish ran through Miami the way Taco Bell runs through me...Damn, I really want a Mexican Pizza! George Atkinson III had 123 yards and a TD, while Cierre Wood put up 118 yards and 2 TD's...Theo Riddick had 21 yards and a TD on 5 carries...Everrett Golson had 51yards on the ground, and Cam McDaniel had 55 yards and 1 TD on 11 carries...
Next week #18 Stanford comes to South Bend to take on the Irish...But this week, Stanford had a bit of a scare, as they didn't feel like playing defense against Arizona...Both teams racked up 617 yards of total offense, each...4 Quarters wasn't enough...Tied at 48, they felt there needed to be more scoring...Stanford must have been feeling the pressure, because they wanted to end this quickly...A rare defense high-light, the Stanford D picked off a Matt Scott pass...Then on their second offensive play, Stepfan Taylor broke off a 21 yard TD run, to end the game 54-48...I hope the Cardinal defense plays this shitty next week!
In the Big-Ten, #24 Northwestern fans were getting excited about their team, until Saturday when they went to Penn State and lost to the Nittany Assholes 39-28...And yes, ESPN televised this weeks game...That's all 6 PSU games on ESPN/ABC...ESPN, the world wide leader in bullshit...Don't worry, if your school and legendary head coach cover up decades of child rape, ESPN will have your back, and do what the can to keep your sanctioned program relevant...
This weeks prime-time Big-Ten game featured #21 Nebraska heading into Columbus to take on #12 Ohio State...Early on this was a tight battle, with plenty of offense...But Ohio State took control and pulled away, winning 63-38...QB Braxton Miller rushed for 186 yards...I have to ask Nebraska, how the hell do you let that happen? Everyone knows this kid is the key weapon for Ohio State...Stop him...Don't let him run all over you...Force him to beat you with his arm...Did you guys not watch any film on how this kid runs? But Buckeyes fans are happy...They saw some high-powered offense that they have been waiting to see from Urban Meyer...
Speaking of high-powered offense...#8 West Virginia went down to Texas to take on the #11 Longhorns...Friggin' West Virginia and their offense...460 total yards...Geno Smith passing for 268 and 4 TD's...Texas tried their best to hang with the Mountaineers, as they put up 404 yards of offense...I was expecting Texas' defense to be the one to slow WV down and put them in their place, but I guess I was wrong, as WV won 48-45...I'm really noticing a lack of defense lately, and it's disappointing...
Also in the Big-12, with QB Casey Pachall suspended, #15 TCU lost to Iowa State 37-23...Looking at the numbers you would think TCU should have won this game, but there is that all important category of TURNOVERS...TCU turned it over 5 times...You can't win doing that...
And since I've found myself paying attention to the University of New Hampshire the last couple weeks, why not see what they did this week in the CAA...Well, QB Andy Vailas passed for 252 yards and 4 TD's, while running back Nico Steriti rushed for 126 yards and 2 TD's...Running back Jimmy Owens also added 120 yards on the ground, as UNH beat-up Georgia State 44-21...
That's it for the wrap up...See ya Monday!

The Beeze's Colege Football Recap
Well this week, I guess we have to start with Big-12 battle of no defense...Going into Saturday's game, the over was 82...#9 West Virginia and Baylor blew that out of the water, as these two high-powered offenses duked it out in a pass happy game...
West Virginia's QB Geno Smith passed for 656 yards and 8 TD's while leading his team to a 70-63 win...Baylor's Nick Florence did his best, throwing for 581 yards and 5 TD's...The Bears WR, Terrance Williams set a Big-12 record with 314 yards receiving, to go with his 2 TD's...Tough break for WV's WR Stedman Bailey, who had set the record earlier in the game, with 303 yards...He added 5 TD's...
Quite a switch from the defensive battle we saw last week with Kansas State and Oklahoma...#12 Texas and Oklahoma State tried to do their best to keep up with both their QB's putting up 300 yards each, and while putting up big points, they couldn't match WV and Baylor's output...
After Oklahoma State took 36-34 lead with two and a half minutes left in the game, Texas QB David Ash drove the Longhorns on a 75 yard game winning drive, capped off with a Joe Bergeron 2 yard TD run, with less than 30 seconds left...Texas wins 41-36...What a tough loss for Oke State....
Then there is the biggest full of shit team in College Football...# LSU...This week they took on another powerhouse in Towson...To no one's surprise, LSU won...But to their own disgrace, they didn't look like the dominating team that their fans think they are, as the final was 38-22...The great and mighty LSU Tigers gave up 22 points to Towson...22 points...22 fucking points to Towson!
Can we please drop LSU out of the top 10 already...This team is a fraud! I don't care that they play in the SEC...Their non-conference schedule is weak...Only 3 of their SEC opponents on their schedule this year should be a concern based on how grossly over-hyped this team is...
This week's big SEC game was between Tennessee and #5 Georgia...This was another offensive battle as Georgia put up 560 yards of offense while Tennessee put up 478...Yes, the trend of no defense continues as Georgia had to battle to win 51-44...
Ohio State fans are thrilled that their team has racked up a 5-0 record, after beating Michigan State 17-16 Saturday...But they shouldn't be that thrilled considering the other 4 teams they beat were Miami (Ohio), UCF, Cal (who gave them a scare), and UAB...
Then there was the Big-Ten prime-time game...A rivalry that the Big-Ten seems to be trying to force...#22 Nebraska and Wisconsin...Wisconsin and Montee Ball were suppose to be a running team, but while Ball had 90 yards on the ground, the team finished with a total of 56 yards rushing...Instead it was Nebraska that was running the ball, with Taylor Martinez getting 107 yards on the ground, and Rex Burkhead with 86...Martinez also passed for 181 yards and 2 TD's to go with his one rushing TD...
Wisconsin was up 20-10 at Halftime, and then came right out in the second half and went up 27-10...After that, it was all Nebraska fighting back, to tie the game at 27 at the end of the third quarter...With just over 9 minutes left in the game, the Cornhuskers kicked the go-ahead filed goal, and then kept playing hard-nosed defense to hold on to the 30-27 win...
It what was premiere match up in the CAA, New Hampshire looked to bounce back from their tough 64-61 loss to Old Dominion, as undefeated Delaware came to visit the Wildcats...
After being down 7-0 at Halftime, UNH Quarterback, Andy Vailas got the wildcats on track, passing for 315 yards and 2 TD's, while also rushing for another TD and 36 yards, leading UNH 34-14 victory...
Good too see these guys come back strong after last week...
In case you missed it...ESPN once again put Penn State on the air...All 5 of Penn State's games have been televised on ESPN/ABC...And none of these games were against "Big Time" opponents...They opened against Ohio U. with all the post Sandusky/Paterno scandal and punishment hanging over the campus...ESPN hyped it for days...It bothered me, but didn't surprise me...The best part wast the Bobcats winning 24-14...
Then they went to Virginia and lost 17-16 because their kicker couldn't hit water if he fell out of a fucking boat...Then they got their first win against Navy...That was disappointing...Then they beat Temple...I would hope so...And Saturday they beat Illinois...Illinois, which is one of the Big-Ten's embarrassments to football...The others being Indiana, and Minnesota...
I'm sorry, but clearly ESPN signed a hush-hush deal to try and keep PSU Football in the public eye, hoping that when their penalties are over and done with, that they won't be completely irrelevant...(this is just my theory, backed up by nothing but my hatred of ESPN and Penn State...
And finally, the late game that should have been on major network...A big PAC-12 battle between Arizona, and Pac-12 surprise team, #18 Oregon State...Yet again, we had another big offense game...The Beavers put up 612 yards of total offense, while Arizona put up 545, in a back and forth battle that was finally settled when the Beavers went 75 yards in 10 plays to score the game winning TD with just over a minute left...Then iced it with a interception, winning 38-35...
That's it for this week...See ya Monday

The Beeze College Football Wrap Up
The Notre Dame offense didn't make things easy on the defense, as Everrett Golson threw 2 interceptions in his own end of the field, early in the game...But the Irish defense kept Michigan off the board until the 4th quarter, giving up just two field goals...Golson was yanked, for the second time this year for Tommy Rees...While Rees kept the mistakes to a minimum, the offense was pretty conservative, relying on the defense's strong play, and holding on for a 13-6 victory...
I hated seeing Golson looking so dejected on the sidelines...The kid has great talent, and you don't want him to lose his confidence...Coach Kelly said after the game, that Everrett Golson is still their guy, and from time to time, they will look for Rees to get them through a tough spot...I'm not going to bitch right now...They're winning...And whatever gets you the win is okay with me...
And you can't say enough about Manti Te'o...Two weeks in a row, after dealing with the deaths of his grandmother and his girlfriend, there he is, leading his team...Playing great football...He hasn't made an INT during his time at Notre Dame...He now has 3 in the last 2 games...Watch this kid play people...Come April, he'll be a first round pick!
Who wants highlights? I do!
Now if you like College Football like I do...Then Saturday night is your kind of night...Beside Notre Dam and Michigan in prime-time...You also had Florida State playing Clemson, and Kansas State visiting Oklahoma both in Prim-time...Oh, and Auburn facing LSU...Good stuff...
Lets start at Auburn...I'm so sick of people talking about how great #2 LSU is...So far they have played nobodies, and have blown them out...And stupid LSU fan thinks they're the shit...Well, this is how great they are...The beat Auburn 12-10...That's right, not 49-10...12-10...1-3 Auburn, had LSU sweating bullets...And that 1 win was an OT win against ULM...Let me just say this LSU fans...Your team better knuckle up for next weeks game against Towson...
Now, I have to talk about #15 Kansas State going to face #6 Oklahoma...This game was a hard-hitting battle...Now when I did my pre-season predictions, I said Oklahoma would win the Big-12, but I warned people about Kansas State, who gets no respect, and I had K-State QB Collin Klein as a Heisman sleeper...Well, the Wildcats didn't disappoint...They went into a hostile environment...Played tough defense, and gritty offense and managed to upset the Sooners 24-19...The biggest thing that kept the Sooners from winning was 3 turnovers...Almost 4, but one was overturned by review...Also 4-10 on third downs makes life hard too...
Klein's numbers weren't outstanding, only passing for 149 yards, and rushing for 79 and a TD...But he did what his team needed, as K-State beat Oklahoma in time of possession by almost ten minutes, and didn't turn the ball over...
Then there was #10 Clemson at #4 Florida State, in a huge ACC match up...I had picked Clemson to win the ACC, and I was liking what I was seeing early in this game...Their offense was looking good, finishing with 426 total yards, and 37 points, seems like a good day at the office...But the Seminoles turned it on in the late in the third quarter, racking up a total of 667 yards and putting 49 points on the board...It became clear as the game went on, that FSU had too much depth, size and strength, took the lead, and wore Clemson out...
Saturday afternoon, there was another good game...Two PAC-12 teams that have been surprising people...Oregon State at #19 UCLA...This game was about offense, and two QB's who can sling it...UCLA's Brett Hundley who passed for 372 of their 444 total yards...And Oregon State's Sean Mannion threw for 379 of their 501 total yards...Surprisingly, it wasn't a 49-45 game...Oregon State pulled out the victory and their second upset of the year, winning 27-20...
There was another PAC-12 game that many of us were looking forward to, as #22 Arizona visited #3 Oregon...Everyone knows about Oregon's awful, constantly changing uniforms, and their high-powered offense...But after Arizona beat up on Oklahoma State, people started taking them seriously...Well, looks like they need to go back to the drawing board, as Oregon has spent the evening showing people that they are the class of the PAC-12, destroying Arizona 49-0...
In the SEC I was looking forward to the Missouri / #7 South Carolina game...While Missouri is 2-2 (0-2 in the SEC) they've played hard, and stayed in games...And let's be honest, you never really know what's going to happen with Steve Spurrier and his Gamecocks...Well, let's put it this way...Missouri is having a rough first season in the SEC, as South Carolina beat them 31-10, and it didn't even seem that close...
Now I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but it's really getting under my skin...So far this season, ESPN/ABC has televised every one of Penn State's games...Has it become ESPN's personal crusade to keep Penn State slightly relevant while they are under NCAA sanctions?
Is it just that they want to keep a spotlight on the child rape that took place there? I'm not getting that...They sure love showing the blue ribbons...Hey dummies, blue ribbons don't fix the lives that have been ruined by what happened there, and what was covered up there...And ESPN likes showing the dumb-ass fans/students/alumni that still have their undying loyalty to Joe Paterno, and feel he was wronged, and that they are the victims...I truly hate that place...But I really hate ESPN/ABC for continuously putting them on the air...Oh, PSU won 24-13 over Temple, if anyone cared...Burn in hell!
That's it for this week...Feel free to add your College Football highlights...See ya Monday!

Monday Moaning
Well, yesterday I covered some of the college football highlights, but I have to start Monday Moaning off with the news that broke last week about Notre Dame...I wanted to write about it then, but I had my hands full with the kids, and the wife out of town...
For those who didn't hear, Notre Dame will be joining the ACC in 2014, for all sports, except Football...Now, while they aren't joining for Football, there are stipulations regarding Football...The Irish must schedule 5 ACC opponents each season, and must play each ACC team withing a 3 year period...It's as close as anyone was going to get ND Football to commit, right now...I feel this is just a stepping stone for the Irish to join fully...I'll get to that in a minute...
This is huge for the ACC...ND fans travel, so those ACC schools that aren't really Football schools will have packed houses when the Irish come to town...Also teams like Maryland for example, will face ND at a larger stadium like M&T Bank Stadium (home of the Ravens)...Which means more ticket sales...
Also in the deal, if ND doesn't qualify or get selected for a major BCS bowl, the ACC can use them for one of their automatic tie-ins with certain bowls...Which is good for the bowls, and the ACC, because the Irish travel well...
This deal also makes the ACC the elite Soccer and Lacrosse conference, already having a number of schools that are strong in those sports...Two sports the Irish have been doing very well in...Plus, with Pitt and Syracuse joining the ACC in 2013, and the Irish in 2014, it becomes an even bigger monster in College Basketball...Which will bring in more money from ESPN and their contract with the ACC...
The Big Ten went hard after Notre Dame, but made it clear, it was all or nothing...If the Irish didn't get in with football, then they weren't welcome...Great stand by the Big Ten, which can afford to make enemies since their conference makes the most money...Yes, SEC guy, you may kick them all over the field, but they manage to make more money then you...
The Big 12, also went after ND hard, and most likely would have given them a similar deal as the ACC, but Notre Dame wanted to stay East-ish...
Before I mentioned this being a stepping stone for Notre Dame eventually going all in, with the ACC...It's my opinion that within 5 years or so, we will see 4 "SUPER CONFERENCES"...We'll see Louisville, USF, Rutgers, and Cincinnati taken from the Big East...I would guess mainly by the ACC...Louisville possibly by the SEC...
The Big-12 will get chopped up and spread among the Big Ten, SEC, and Pac-12...Oklahoma, Texas, TCU, West Virginia, Kansas State, Kansas, (because of basketball) Oklahoma State, Baylor, Texas Tech...Maybe even Iowa State (built in rivalry with Iowa in the Big Ten)...And then a few others will find their way in, like Boise State, Fresno State, and BYU...Possibly a few others...
I know Big-12 people don't like what I just said, but I think that is where we are heading...I think we were on our way when Nebraska, Texas A&M, Colorado, and Missouri all split, but the conference came out swinging, and managed to keep itself alive...But I think the men hold the power will convince the conferences that there is too much money to be made with 4 "SUPER CONFERENCES" and a sexy playoff system, that many fans have been clamoring for...
I'd love to hear what you think about this...
The other big story on my mind this week, is the NHL owners have locked out the players after the two sides couldn't agree on a new CBA...The clock ran out at 11:59PM Saturday...What I find even more ridiculous about this, is all day Friday, and Saturday teams were signing, and re-signing players to multi-million dollar contracts...The same type of contracts these owners have been bitching about...
The last lockout, the players swallowed a good deal of pride, and left a good deal of money on the table, thinking they were doing the best thing for the game...After a few years of struggling to get the media attention Hockey deserves, things started getting better for the NHL...The sport seemed to be on the rise the last couple years...
And now this happens...The mainstream media will be turning it's back on Hockey again...Fans like me will be pissed...I already canceled my Center Ice package...I was really excited to see Rick Nash playing for my New York Rangers...Now, I'm pissed...I plan on spending my money on some College Hockey and some AHL Hockey...It's going to be awhile until the NHL sees a dime from me...I don't think the players should get screwed...And I think the owners need to look in the mirror...Because they and that douchebag Bettman are the biggest problems with their business of Hockey.
Lastly, the Cleveland Browns lost Sunday to the Bengals...I'm not surprised, are you? And while the defense didn't play nearly as well as they did last week, the offense showed some real improvement...Trent Richardson rushed for 109 yards and a TD...He looked like a different guy out there this week...And speaking of looking like a different guy...Brandon Weeden passed for 322 yards, and 2 TD's...And he threw no Interceptions...He actually didn't look like a high school kid, shitting his pants...Does that mean there is hope for this team? I don't know...I stopped getting my hopes up years ago...I'll just watch and see what happens...
That's it for now...Have a week...
The Beeze.
