The Beeze's College Football Pick'em (week 8)
Well, after taking last week off for the big move, I'm back with a few more picks...There's not a lot I like this week, so this one will be short and sweet...
-Texas A&M at Ole Miss...
Ole Miss is 1-6 against A&M, with the win coming last season...The Rebels started out the season strong but have faltered mightily...While the Aggies have looked decent this year, I'm not sold...I look for Ole Miss to try and save their season with this game...Not sure if they'll pull out the win, but take the Rebels plus the 5.5 points...
- Kansas State at Texas...
Texas comes into this game as a 7 point favorite...I think Texas being a favorite against anyone this season is ridiculous...Since '98 K-State is 8-3 against the Longhorns...While the Wildcats are also having a down year, Bill Snyder's teams are always prepared, and he can coach circles around Charlie Strong in his sleep...Take K-State plus the 7 points...
- Iowa State at Baylor...
This is one of the games that scares some people because the spread is so big...But relax...It's Iowa State at Baylor...The Bears need to keep rolling people to make their playoff case, and crap team like the Cyclones is perfect when you're looking to rack up a bunch of points...Take Baylor minus the 37 points...
- Tennessee at Alabama...
'Bama has won 8 straight against the Vols...Tennessee has not won at Alabama since 2003...Everything in the world says take Alabama...But this is one of those goofy times where I just have a feeling...These feeling have struck big before...And they've fucked me before...That's why it's called gambling...Screw it, the Arrested Development song "Tennessee has been playing in my head all week....Take the Volunteers plus the 15 points!
- Utah at USC...
Some how, and I don't give a shit that USC is at home, but some how these dolts are a 3.5 favorite ...I don't need to give you any facts or history...Utah is good, and on a mission...USC is a fucking train-wreck...Take Utah plus the 3.5 points...
That's all the games I've got for ya this week...
Good luck beating the bookie!

The Beeze's College Football Pick'em (week 4)
Last week I won 3...lost 1...and 1 push...
Let's see what we do this week...
- BYU at Michigan....
Okay, Michigan who isn't overly impressive, while the home team, is a 6.5 point favorite...I think that is crazy...I think BYU bounce back from their loss to UCLA last week...Take BYU plus the 6.5 points
- Georgia Tech at Duke...
Duke is 3-22 versus the Georgia Tech...It's not going to get better this week...GT is another team looking to bounce back from a tough loss...Take the Yellow Jackets minus the 7.5 points...
-Bowling Green at Purdue...
This week the Falcons are the favorite...It doesn't matter, I'm still taking them...Purdue blows...Bowling Green minus 5.5 points...
- Rice at Baylor....
Baylor has won 6 straight against Rice...And I feel confident that the Bears can take the Owls again...But Baylor doesn't understand what defense is...Take Rice plus the 34.5 points...
- Ohio University at Minnesota...
I don't even need to pull up any stats or history, or any of that bullshit...Minnesota ain't nothing to write home about...Ohio is a solid MAC team...Take the Bobcats plus the 10 points...
- Miss State at Auburn...
Auburn has proven that they walked into the season grossly overrated...yet they are a 3 point favorite....Miss State is 3-11 as a visitor...Can they turn it around? Yes...The Bulldogs will win straight up, but go ahead and take those 3 points too...
- UCLA at Arizon...
The visitor is 3-8...UCLA is 13-23 on the road in versus PAC-12 foes...But in the end it comes down to the better team...I'm going with UCLA minus 3 points.
-Utah at Oregon...
Utah is is 4-9 against ranked teams since joining the PAC-12...This one should be the game to watch...These teams will slug it out...the Utes are better then people expected, and Oregon is good, but not where they have been in past years...Take Utah plus the 12 points...
Good luck...

Monday Moaning
Happy Veteran's Day, and happy Monday everyone...
Although there are some people who aren't happy this Monday....Hell, they weren't happy Friday...Yep, I'm talking about the Oregon Ducks...Way to make me look bad you assholes...Last week I'm out here calling you the #1 team in the land...I'm behind your QB for the Heisman, and this what you do...
Don't get me wrong, (5) Stanford is really good...They out-muscled the (3) Ducks on both sides of the line of scrimmage, but I really thought with all their skill, this year the Ducks would finally get past Stanford....And while we're on it, how the fuck did Stanford lose to Utah...What the fucking shit was that!?! That alone should keep Stanford out of the top 5...
Thursday night also gave us another big-time matchup, as (10) Oklahoma went to (6) Baylor to give the Bears a test to see if they were for real...Well, they are...The Baylor offense started slow, and the often questioned defense held strong, as the Bears dominated the Sooners 41-10...It's really going to piss me off to see a Stanford team that lost to Utah sitting ahead of an undefeated Baylor team...
And while there has been plenty of Heisman talk about a number of QB's, there has been no talk about Baylor QB, Bryce Petty who has passed for 2,657 yards, 21 TD's and 1 INT...He has also rushed for 8 TD's...Take a good look people...His stats are right there with all the favorites...
Miami is in a downward spiral now, after losing to Florida State...Saturday they got rolled 42-24 by Virginia Tech...
My Saturday evening was kicked in the head when the Fighting Irish looked like shit, and lost to Pitt 28-21...Tommy Rees slipped into old habits, and it bit him in the ass...Early in the game standout DL-man Stephon Tuitt was ejected from the game for a targeting penalty...Looking at the replay, the first angle looks like he went helmet to helmet, but the second angle showed his helmet didn't make contact with Pitt QB Tom Savage...
The following is in no way an excuse for the Irish loss...This is simply about the NCAA's targeting rule which is often a bullshit call in my eyes...The penalty is never called on an offensive player, even though offensive players always put their head down, and lead with the crown of their helmet...The play Tuitt got flagged for, Savage got low, and lead with his head...Tuitt will be flagged if he tackles high, he has to try and get low to make the play...But he is also 6 foot, 7 inches, and 325 pounds...He can only get so low...It's a shit penalty....
This video has all the highlights and low-lights of Saturday's game...About 55 seconds in it gets to the Tuitt penalty...
I'm all for player safety, but ejecting players for hits that aren't intentional, or for impacts that are as much the fault of the offensive player, as they are the defensive player...
Yes, there have been plenty of head shots that the call makes total sense...But there have been plenty of hits that are the fault of the offensive player, or even made by an offensive player, and it's allowed...Their you have RB's, WR's, QB's, TE's, lead with your head...Blow the guy, or get nailed and draw a flag...Either way!'
I've got nothing on the NFL this week, except the fucking Colts lost, and bounced me out of my "Knockdown pool"...There were 30 out of 120 left this week...I could have used that scratch...
I spent too much of Sunday doing some fixing up to our bathroom...And then I raked up some leaves so Molly and Finnegan could jump in them...Fucking leaves...I'm anti-raking leaves...They are a natural fertilizer....Leave on the ground, I say...Even better, my idiot city had their leaf collection day about two days before the leaves started falling...DOLTS!
Then we took the kids to the mall...Some shoes were needed, and some new Winter wear...The cold is coming quick...On our way out, Little Beeze, and Molly wanted Chocolate shakes from the Nestle Toll House stand...My oldest got some cookies...I added a shake for myself to the order...Then I watched one of the world's dumbest people try to make 3 shakes...This dummy made them one at a time, instead of putting the ingredients for all three in the same giant blender...And apparently no one taught her to run the scoop under warm water to help her scooping...20 minutes it took for 3 shakes...At one point, my wife looked at me and said, "What the fuck." If my sweetheart of a wife wants to choke you out, you must be a fucking scourge on this Earth!
That's it for now...
Have a week...

The Beeze's Colege Football Recap
Well this week, I guess we have to start with Big-12 battle of no defense...Going into Saturday's game, the over was 82...#9 West Virginia and Baylor blew that out of the water, as these two high-powered offenses duked it out in a pass happy game...
West Virginia's QB Geno Smith passed for 656 yards and 8 TD's while leading his team to a 70-63 win...Baylor's Nick Florence did his best, throwing for 581 yards and 5 TD's...The Bears WR, Terrance Williams set a Big-12 record with 314 yards receiving, to go with his 2 TD's...Tough break for WV's WR Stedman Bailey, who had set the record earlier in the game, with 303 yards...He added 5 TD's...
Quite a switch from the defensive battle we saw last week with Kansas State and Oklahoma...#12 Texas and Oklahoma State tried to do their best to keep up with both their QB's putting up 300 yards each, and while putting up big points, they couldn't match WV and Baylor's output...
After Oklahoma State took 36-34 lead with two and a half minutes left in the game, Texas QB David Ash drove the Longhorns on a 75 yard game winning drive, capped off with a Joe Bergeron 2 yard TD run, with less than 30 seconds left...Texas wins 41-36...What a tough loss for Oke State....
Then there is the biggest full of shit team in College Football...# LSU...This week they took on another powerhouse in Towson...To no one's surprise, LSU won...But to their own disgrace, they didn't look like the dominating team that their fans think they are, as the final was 38-22...The great and mighty LSU Tigers gave up 22 points to Towson...22 points...22 fucking points to Towson!
Can we please drop LSU out of the top 10 already...This team is a fraud! I don't care that they play in the SEC...Their non-conference schedule is weak...Only 3 of their SEC opponents on their schedule this year should be a concern based on how grossly over-hyped this team is...
This week's big SEC game was between Tennessee and #5 Georgia...This was another offensive battle as Georgia put up 560 yards of offense while Tennessee put up 478...Yes, the trend of no defense continues as Georgia had to battle to win 51-44...
Ohio State fans are thrilled that their team has racked up a 5-0 record, after beating Michigan State 17-16 Saturday...But they shouldn't be that thrilled considering the other 4 teams they beat were Miami (Ohio), UCF, Cal (who gave them a scare), and UAB...
Then there was the Big-Ten prime-time game...A rivalry that the Big-Ten seems to be trying to force...#22 Nebraska and Wisconsin...Wisconsin and Montee Ball were suppose to be a running team, but while Ball had 90 yards on the ground, the team finished with a total of 56 yards rushing...Instead it was Nebraska that was running the ball, with Taylor Martinez getting 107 yards on the ground, and Rex Burkhead with 86...Martinez also passed for 181 yards and 2 TD's to go with his one rushing TD...
Wisconsin was up 20-10 at Halftime, and then came right out in the second half and went up 27-10...After that, it was all Nebraska fighting back, to tie the game at 27 at the end of the third quarter...With just over 9 minutes left in the game, the Cornhuskers kicked the go-ahead filed goal, and then kept playing hard-nosed defense to hold on to the 30-27 win...
It what was premiere match up in the CAA, New Hampshire looked to bounce back from their tough 64-61 loss to Old Dominion, as undefeated Delaware came to visit the Wildcats...
After being down 7-0 at Halftime, UNH Quarterback, Andy Vailas got the wildcats on track, passing for 315 yards and 2 TD's, while also rushing for another TD and 36 yards, leading UNH 34-14 victory...
Good too see these guys come back strong after last week...
In case you missed it...ESPN once again put Penn State on the air...All 5 of Penn State's games have been televised on ESPN/ABC...And none of these games were against "Big Time" opponents...They opened against Ohio U. with all the post Sandusky/Paterno scandal and punishment hanging over the campus...ESPN hyped it for days...It bothered me, but didn't surprise me...The best part wast the Bobcats winning 24-14...
Then they went to Virginia and lost 17-16 because their kicker couldn't hit water if he fell out of a fucking boat...Then they got their first win against Navy...That was disappointing...Then they beat Temple...I would hope so...And Saturday they beat Illinois...Illinois, which is one of the Big-Ten's embarrassments to football...The others being Indiana, and Minnesota...
I'm sorry, but clearly ESPN signed a hush-hush deal to try and keep PSU Football in the public eye, hoping that when their penalties are over and done with, that they won't be completely irrelevant...(this is just my theory, backed up by nothing but my hatred of ESPN and Penn State...
And finally, the late game that should have been on major network...A big PAC-12 battle between Arizona, and Pac-12 surprise team, #18 Oregon State...Yet again, we had another big offense game...The Beavers put up 612 yards of total offense, while Arizona put up 545, in a back and forth battle that was finally settled when the Beavers went 75 yards in 10 plays to score the game winning TD with just over a minute left...Then iced it with a interception, winning 38-35...
That's it for this week...See ya Monday

Toot Toot

It was just back on July 15, when I wrote THIS saying how RGIII was my guy for the Heisman...And if you read my Monday posts for the last few weeks, you saw me banging the drum for my guy!
And then it happened tonight...The "experts" said it wouldn't, but it did...The Beeze was right...Maybe the voters do read some good shit, like my blog, because this years Heisman Trophy winner, was none other than Baylor's Robert Griffin III.

Congrats to Griffin...And Congrats to his teammates, and Baylor University.
Way to go...Thanks for making me look good!

Monday Moaning

Who should be next? Well based on who played who, and who beat who, and what the records are, there is no doubt in my mind that Oklahoma State should be playing LSU for the title...But people are in so much aww of the SEC and keep saying they have the best talent, so of course the polls are going to push for two SEC teams in the Championship game...
Now if you look at the SEC standing and stats, half the conference just sucks...Just like half the Big Ten sucks...Just like half the Big-12 sucks...75% of the PAC-12 sucks...All but 2 teams in the ACC suck...And all of the Big East sucks! So is this love affair with the SEC justified? I don't think so!
But this topic is an annoying topic that seems to come up almost every year, because this fucked up system works so well!
So this weekend, the Beeze family started celebrating our oldest daughter's birthday at a fundraiser for my childhood parish...Nothing like a little Breakfast with Santa to get in a festive mood...

The kids had fun making ornaments, listening to stories that Mrs. Claus was reading, and of course, sitting down with the big guy...
After that I got the baby down for a nap and got ready to watch some football...I really liked seeing the guy I've been hyping for the Heisman, Robert Griffin III get some National TV time...

And again, he did what he has done all year long...He lit people up...As a matter of fact, he lit up the Texas Longhorns...

The fact that it has taken this long for the National Media to give him any love is ridiculous...Dude has thrown for 3,998 yards, with a 72.4 completion percentage, 36 TD's and only 6 INT's...He's also rushed for 644 yards and 9 TD's...I'll gladly take him over Andrew Luck!
Then Sunday came...We had our daughter's birthday party...A couple hours of kid madness, and then we came home and got some quiet...The baby was napping and the other two played quietly...I was making dinner and listening to the radio, while the wife watched some shitty show on TV...Then 4 o'clock came, and the Browns game started...Every time the Browns play the Ravens I think about Steve Everritt, and what a cool guy he was, and how proud he was to be a Brown, even after they moved...

But, the game started, and it was hard to be proud to be a Browns fan again...Mike Polk wasn't lying when he called Browns Stadium a "Factory of Sadness"...
My thoughts on this week's game was summed up in 3 of my tweets...
-every week the Browns find a way to keep it ugly...So many hours wasted watching this crap!
-Browns offense is awful. McCoy looks like crap. WR's drop everything he gets to them. OL is a train wreck. I'm done wasting my time
-Even Cribbs looks like a lump of shit...Glad he got that big contract extension...Twat!
Yeah, that's it...A friend of mine broke it down pretty well too...
tylerwhidden
-"Browns suck. Plain and simple. It's like a conspiracy against fandom. Every time the Browns play, an abortion happens"
That's all I have on the Sports world for right now...I mentioned listening to the radio earlier...I spent any free time I had listening to the Opie and Anthony channel on XM this weekend...All weekend they did a tribute to their friend Patrice_O'Neal who passed away last week...O'Neal was a smart and hilarious comic, who was just, finally getting the recognition he deserved...He's already greatly missed...I'm going to listen to some more now...
Have a week...
