Breaking News: Browns Rebuilding....

....AGAIN!

Yes, in a not shocking at all development, last night Browns owner Jimmy Haslam fired idiot GM, Ray Farmer and in over his head, Head Coach Mike Pettine...

In more shocking news from Cleveland...The Browns organization also isn't happy with QB Johnny Manziel who didn't show up for his mandatory concussion protocol stuff Sunday, after it was widely reported that he was seen (shockingly) partying in Vegas....

Will this criminal fuck Haslam cut ties with this ass-clown Manziel finally?  Who knows...Who cares...They're both fucking retarded!

I will tell you all what I have for the past five years...Walk away from the Browns...The do nothing but take up your time and money....You would keep going back to a restaurant that kept serving you awful, rotten, spoiled, food, with grossly inflated prices...So why the fuck do you keep going back to the Browns!?!

Oh...Wait there is one more piece of breaking Browns news...You see those two ladies at the top correct...Shockingly, Steelers fans manage to be sexier then Browns fans...

Cleveland Browns: The NFL Standard of Dysfunction

Yesterday the Cleveland Browns traded running back Terrance West to the Tennessee Titans for a conditional 7th round draft pick...West, in his rookie season, was the Browns leading rusher last year...The Browns had traded up to pick West in the 3rd round...And poof, he's suddenly no good, and can only garner a 7th round pick...I find this truly ridiculous...

More ridiculous is the standard Cleveland smear campaign smear campaign that happens every time a Cleveland sports team makes a move like this...Cleveland Plain Dealer, Browns shill, Mary Kay Cabot wrote, "the Browns had grown weary of West’s Incosistency the field and immaturity off the field."

The media smear continued with comments like, “maturity issues,” and “wasn’t well-liked by some in Berea” and “not exhibiting the professionalism the Browns were seeking.”

The Browns seeking professionalism is one of the funniest things I read...This is the organization who's GM (Ray Farmer) is suspended right now by the NFL, for texted down to the sideline during games, about what players should be played, and what plays to call...This is the organization who's owner had his business raided by the FBI...This organization wanting professionalism is the same group that drafted Johnny Manziel and let him act like a fuck-tard all last year...

This is alaso the organization that Suspended their Offensive Line Coach, Andy Moeller Monday, indefinately, with a very vague press release...

"Andy was involved in an incident, involving allegations that we take very seriously. We have followed our internal protocol, determining that right now it is best for the team and for Andy to take time away from the organization to focus on his personal matters. We are going to respect the process of investigation on this personal matter and will have no further comment at this time."

Later in the day Pat McManamon from ESPN.com reported,

"A woman called Berea police over the weekend, alleging Moeller had assaulted her, the sources said. The woman was a guest of Moeller's from Maryland.
By the time police arrived, the woman was unsure about pressing charges.
However, police were required to file a report, which was presented to the city prosecutor. He will determine whether charges will be filed. Because the alleged assault was not of a live-in partner or spouse, it was classified as assault and not domestic assault."

Seems like the maturity issues, and lack of professionalism problems have consistently stemmed from the fuck-tards above....

As for the players that were drafted with Terrance West in 2014 by the Browns...2 are starters...G- Joel Bitinio (2nd round) and LB- Chris Kirksey (3rd round)...And the two first round picks, CB- Justin Gilbert and QB- Johnny Manziel have contributed little, and don't look like they're going to contribute much...

You can say whatever you want about that mess known as the Washington Redskins, but there has been no NFL organization that has shown such a consistent and high level of dysfunction as the Cleveland Browns...
I'm so glad I washed my hands of this idiot team and their horrible fucking uniforms!

PS: I hope West lights it up for the Titans!

The Browns do it Again...

Do what again, you ask?

DISAPPOINT!

My father got to experience some greatness from the Browns during his life...Me, all I've gotten is disappointment...Which let to me completely turning my back on them more than a few years ago...

Over the last two weeks all the media in Cleveland has been buzzing about the Browns "changing their logo and uniforms...There was much speculation and rumor...Countless fan ideas posted around the Internet...But they were all wrong...As you can see from the picture above, the changes are minor...The helmet/logo is the same, with the exception of a brown facemask, and deeper shade of orange...It was said last night that the orange will probably be more metallic, the way we have seen so many college helmets go...

The Dawg for the Dawg Pound got re-worked too...Big fucking deal!

Here is the official release from the Browns website...

Yep...There it is...And now they will start hyping the unveiling of what little they're going to do to the uniforms...This is it...This is the big news in Cleveland...

So lets just rundown the Browns top offseason news stories...

- Johnny Manziel goes to rehab...

- Josh Gordon fails another drug/alcohol test and will suspended for at least the entire season...

- GM Ray Farmer admits to texting down to the sidelines, giving input on personnel and play calls...(some say he jumped on that grenade for owner Jimmy Haslam, as it was originally reported that Haslam was doing the texting)

- And the Browns change their logo...A brighter orange and a brown facemask...HOLY FUCKING CHANGE!  Jesus this organization is just one letdown after another...

The best thing about the promotion I got this past year, is that I work every Sunday...Even in the past when I didn't work Sundays, I tried to avoid the Browns, but I would catch some...I would watch a bit and all that frustration would come back...It's so nice having that out of my life...

But all week, I heard the guys at work talking about this big change...All their speculation...And of course the TV news guys getting all moist hyping it up....How disappointed they all must have been when they saw this release...I wonder how that Shill Jim Donovan will spin this into a great fucking thing...

I hope it was all you dreamed it would be Cleveland...

Looking forward to hearing you get hyped for the draft, just to be disappointed again...

Monday Moaning...On a Tuesday

It's "Shark Week" people....And I'd rather watch that over pre-season football!

Saturday the Cleveland Browns had their first, uneventful pre-season game, against the Lions...What a steaming pile of crap...And the worst part...All the Cleveland media, and most fans could talk about during the game (via Twitter) was when is Johnny Manziel getting in...

When the coach says so assholes...And Cleveland sports media, you better stop calling yourselves journalists when you are openly rooting for one guy over another to win the starting job...They wrote and spoke and tweeted of his 7 for 11 completions, for 63 yards as if it was somehow amazing, and so much greater then Brian Hoyers 6-14 for 92 yards...Manziel played against 2's and 3's...Hoyer had a couple drops...But the Play calling stood out to me...When it was timing playing, 3 steps and the ball is out, Hoyer looked great...When the Browns called a read-option on 3rd and 2 with Manzile in there, it was just so completely predictable, that the Lions ate it up...

The biggest thing that stood out was the Browns yards per pass average...5.2...That shows they weren't trying to stretch the field...Or just dumping off to the check downs...

I did like a lot of what I saw from the defense...Then again, it was the Lions, in pre-season...It was what I expected...A boring, meaningless, pre-season game...

The Big Story from Saturday night came from auto Racing when Tony Stewart ran over and killed Kevin Ward Jr.....It was a fucked up situation...

I'm not willing to speak on this topic...I know nothing about auto racing...I never wrote about it before...I'm not starting now...Although, I will say, if you're going o get out of your wrecked car and try to start a fight with a guy in a moving car, you're probably suffering from Cranial-Anal-Insertion...And you're gonna lose...

Big news that broke Monday, Actor/Comedian Robin Williams committed suicide....It's sad...Very sad...He was amazingly talented...But many people suffer with the same things as him, and no one talks about it...I loved his work as an actor, but I have a hard time going on and on about some one who killed themselves...Even worse, networks like CNN completely stopped all news coverage and just talked non-stop about Williams...Kinda makes me sick...

Here...Enjoy a depressing song while I go watch "Shark Week"...

Have a week...

Johnny's Vegas Vacation (calling out the Cleveland sports media)

The Cleveland media has lost it's goddamn mind...They are shocked...They are upset...They frustrated...And very few of them are smart...or at least they just are trying to get listeners, or page views, by harping on the fact that Johnny Manziel spent this past weekend in Vegas...

Now, to be clear, just about every fucking idiot member of the Cleveland sports media, wanted the Browns to draft Johnny Manziel...We all knew his background...We all knew he parties...Dude went to Texas A&M...and showed up at a Texas frat party drunk, just to talk shit...We all know he's cocky, and he does what he wants...That's why I thought drafting him was a horrible idea...Along with the fact that he's short, and I don't think he'll last in the NFL...

So why the hell are all of you people shocked?  Why are you ranting and raving that this dick-bag went to Vegas on his weekend off?  You sound like assholes...Whimpering, jealous, douchebag, assholes...This is what Manziel does...He's brash...That's what you wanted...You got it...Deal with it...Shut the fuck up!

As a Clevelander, I've decided the tables need to be turned...I want to know what the Cleveland sports media members did this past weekend...How did you spend your weekend Kiley and Booms? Hey Rizzo, what did you do? Did you get drunk, again? Did you rough up your wife again Rizzo? Tony Grossi and Mary Kay Hack, what did you do this weekend?  How many times did you diddle yourself Mary Kay, as you drooled over pictures of Manziel?  Stupid Jim Donovan, what did you do this weekend? Did you fantasize about a threesome with Kris Pickel and Betsy Kling?

The media now being a 24/7 thing, with the help of Twitter and Instagram, seems to harp on the nonsense and ignore any real substance....Manziel went to Vegas...He's 21, got money, had the weekend off...I'd be more concerned if he didn't go some where and enjoy himself...

Grow the fuck up Cleveland.

Monday Moaning

Well here we are...This is the first time I have opened my laptop in 5 days...Yes I looked at some things via my iphone, but other than looking at Twitter, Facebook, and a bit of news, I took a mini-vacation from the Internet...I mean, Summer is at it's end...My oldest and I took in our first high school football game of the season Friday...And yes, College Football season kicked off this week...So there is no shortage of sports to write about....

So why not start with the hot topic...Johnny Manziel...The NCAA hit him with a meaningless, weak, 1 half suspension for the first game...The first game being against Rice....That'll teach him!  And anyone who thinks he didn't break the rules...You're foolish...There is a story quietly floating around that this could be an even bigger deal, that the NCAA wants to keep quiet, and that may be why they reacted so swiftly, and softly with Manziel...A CLIENT_LIST of College Football players going back to 2004 who signed shit for money...

But then there was Manziel, taking the field in the second half against Rice...

Hey, I'm okay with trash talk to a degree, but when all this shit just went down, and your first move out of the gate is to air-sign autographs...That's a dick-bag move...But wait, there's more...

Look, Johnny just threw a TD pass...Now he's counting his money....Fucking dick-bag...Then late in the game after throwing another TD pass, he went and talked trash to some Rice players, and got flagged for it...

Big, fucking, Dick-Bag....After this move, the coach yanked him...And he's got to be concerned about how many more headaches is this kid going to give the program...And while Johnny is talking shit, maybe he should realize that Rice may not have won, but they just showed everyone in the country how weak the A&M defense is...Rice scored 31 points while gaining 509 yards...306 of those on the ground...

Manziel has talent, but he's clearly an asshole...For the record, I'm rooting for him to fail, and fail big-time...This now brings us to Backell...If you don't know him, he's a douchebag from way back in the days when we all blogged at Sporting News...There are many reasons to dislike this guy...Like being a liar, and a fake...Saturday, he started a threat on a Facebook page, commenting about Manziel's taunting...

"I've just got say, Johnny Manziel is really putting his signature on this game.

I went there."

People came in, and dropped their one liners, and two-cents, and then suddenly Backell called out everyone's comments ripping Manziel for being "#sechaters"

Well, I do hate the SEC, but as many of us pointed out, this was not about how we may or may not feel about the SEC...It was how we felt about Manziel, his antics, and his disrespect for his teammates, opponents, the game, and the NCAA...Which, I have no respect for the NCAA either!

So "F5", you wanted to stir the pot...You wanted some attention...Well here you have it...You made it into Monday Moaning...I can can only speak for myself, although I know many who feel the same...You're hack...You're an arrogant douchebag...And you're an asshole...You and Johnny Manziel will make a lovely couple, eating each others asses in your own little, asshole hell!

-In other College Football news...North Dakota State upset Kansas State 24-21...If that isn't sexy enough...Eastern Washington upset (#25) Oregon State 49-46...Those FCS schools are fucking with people!

And all of you who get pissed about hearing about (#19) Boise State late in every season, and how they could throw a monkey wrench in the system...No worries...The Washington Huskies dominated Boise State 38-6...(#18) Nebraska squeaked out a 37-34 win over Wyoming...I'd like to thank Ohio State for not covering the spread against Buffalo...The Buckeyes only beat the Bulls 40-20...That's my gambling tip people...First couple weeks of the season, when the big guns have a cream-puff on the schedule...Take the puff with the points...Love that shit!

-My Fighting Irish were not spectacular in their 28-6 win over Temple...They looked fucking amazing during their first two offensive series, and it looked like it was going to get real ugly, real fast...But the Irish got a bit sloppy...Too many penalties...The Special Teams were awful...I'm trying to get a scholarship this week to be their new kicker...At times the defense seem to be taking plays off, and were playing a lot of bend don't break...

There is plenty of talent on this team, but if they don't clean it up, they'll get smoked at Michigan next week...

Molls was happy with the win...

-The big game of the week was (#5) Georgia at (#8) Clemson...I give both teams credit for opening their season with this big game this...If Clemson loses they're out of National Championship contention...If Georgia loses, they'll have to run the table the rest of the way, and get some luck...The game lived up to the hype...And so did Clemson QB Tajh Boyd, (my #2 pick for the Heisman) who passed for 3 TD's and rushed for 2 more leading Clemson to a 38-35 win...

-My #1 guy for the Heisman, Louisville QB, Teddy Bridgewater torched Ohio U. for 355 yards and 5 TD's Sunday in 49-7 win...Even more impressive to me was Louisville's defense shutting down the Bobcats strong ground game, holding them to just 81 yards, and forcing them to try to do it all through the air...

-Lastly, I want to talk about Keith Olbermann...I liked him early on...Then in his later years at MSNBC his act got old...He became quite annoying...But now he is back talking sports...He's doing some things with sports, that made him appealing in his early "Countdown" days...Last week he had a great segment taking apart the NCAA...Then I saw this...Talking about concussions and and idiot columnist, Pete Prisco...

I know Olbermann has a rep as a douche, but he's doing some good stuff on ESPN2 week nights at 11:00PM...

That's it for now...

Have a Week...

The Beeze's 2013 Heisman Preview/Prediction

That right there is Jordan Lynch from Northern Illinois...he finished 7th in the Heisman voting last year...The Huskies QB rushed for 1,815 yards and passed for 3,138 yards with 25 TD's and just 6 INT's while leading his team to a 12-2 record...And he only finished 7th...Proving once again that no matter what a guy does, no matter how good he is, playing in a smaller conference will be held against him...

Just to compare the numbers...Last year's winner, Johnny Manziel rushed for 1,410 and passed for 3,706 yards with 26 TD's and 9 INT's...Those numbers are pretty close between #1 and #7...SO as much as I would love to see a kid from the MAC win, we all know guys with equal or lesser numbers from the Big 12, Big 10, Pac 12, SEC, and ACC will get looked at first...So Lynch will make another strong case for the Heisman, but will be shutout...

Sorry Kent State fans, that includes your guy Dri Archer...Kent loves this kid so much, especially since he stuck around for another year, that they were considering starting a Heisman campaign for him...Archer rushed for 1,429 yards and 16 TD's and added 561 yards and 4 TD's receiving...Archer also tacked on 3 TD's as a return man...

The Favorites this year are Manziel of course...My prediction, he won't even be in New York this year...Either his off field stupidity will get in trouble, or all the distractions along with a big target will lead to a Sophomore slump...

Ohio State's Braxton Miller is at the top of everyone's boards...Without a doubt, Miller is Ohio State's best running back...Problem is, he plays QB...I don't think Miller is a very good QB, but the fact that the Luckeyes have such a week schedule will give Miller and company a great chance of going undefeated, which always helps a Heisman campaign...Buckeye fans I don't want to hear your shit...Your schedule is week...Non-Conference: Buffalo, San Diego State, @ Cal, and Florida A&M...SDS is the toughest one there...Conference: Wisconsin, @ Northwestern, Iowa, PSU, @ Purdue, @ Illinois, Indiana, and @ Michigan...That's cake until Nov. 30th  at Michigan...

Another name getting talk...South Carolina DE, Jadeveon Clowney....Last year Manti Te'o gave defensive fans the first real Heisman hopeful since Charles Woodson...Now Clowney takes the torch...Dude is an animal...Every week last season he was on the highlight shows blowing up running backs and sacking QB's...But will it be enough...Te'o put together a terrific season last year, but anyone who doesn't think a grandmother and an (eventually fake) girlfriend dying just before a game and the whole media swirl that surrounded him (without fact checking) had anything to do with his Heisman run is nuts...Clowney will make plays...He won't win the Heisman...

Had Chip Kelly not jumped to the NFL and the Eagles, Oregon QB Marcus Mariota would have been my guy...Hands down...Throws, runs, playing in a never let up offense...Dude was looking at HUGE numbers...He'll have a good season, and while I don't see new head coach Mark Helfrich changing much of anything, there will still be an adjustment...

AJ McCarron , Alabama QB and Georgia QB Aaron Murray will get some talk, and Murray is looking to put up big numbers, but they'll be on the outside looking in...

Clemson QB Tajh Boyd is my number two guy...

Last year, Boyd passed for 3,896 yards and 36 TD's and 13 INT's...He also rushed for 514 yards and 10 TD's...Clemson brings back a strong team with Boyd, that expects to be in the Championship conversation...The coaching staff was thrilled with the improvements in Boyd's game last year...If he can build on that, he could run away with the whole thing....

While I really like Boyd...I like to be different...So my pick for this year's Heisman is....

Louisville QB, Teddy Bridgewater...Last year as a Sophomore, Bridgewater passed for 3,718 yards and 27 TD's and 8 INT's...Playing in the American Conference, (the shattered remains of the Big East) Bridgewater and the Cardinals will be looking to go undefeated and put up gaudy numbers...The kid has excellent escapability, while not being a "running QB"....A big-time arm, and great vision...

So there it is...What do you think?

The Beeze.

The Beeze's College Football Wrap Up

And the winner is............

Johnny Manziel from Texas A&M....Kid has a decent Heisman pose, ain't that right Alabama?

Manziel, made history Saturday night, as he was the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy....Now it won't come as a shock that I was rooting for Notre Dame's Manti Te'o...But it wasn't just because he plays at Notre Dame...It's because I'd really love to see defense start getting some credit these days...Te'o lead a defense that only allowed 10 TD's this season...But it's always been clear, no matter what kind of defensive numbers get put up, the Heisman is all about offense...

And that said, Manziel definitely put up some big offensive numbers...43 total TD's...19 rushing, and 24 passing...Rushing for 1,181, and passing for 3,419 yards...And while I wanted to see Te'o buck the system for all defensive players...It was good to see a Freshman buck the system...There had been so much talk against Manziel, just because he's a freshman...If he earns it, who cares...This isn't an award based a players career...It's  for each season...

One thing was clear about each of the three finalists...If it isn't for them, their teams aren't sitting where they are...ND doesn't go undefeated without Te'o...Kansas State doesn't lose just 1 game, and wins the Big-12 without Collin Klein...And Texas A&M doesn't walk into the SEC and finish with a 10-2 record, including going to Alabama and rolling the Tide, without Manziel...All 3 deserved the trip to New York...I really wouldn't have been upset about any of these guys winning...And it was great to see a few guys in New York, that no one was expecting to see there....(Well, except for me picking Klein as my dark horse this pre-season)

Te'o did win the Maxwell Award, the Bednarik Award, and the Walter Camp Foundation Player of the Year Award...

-Saturday we also had the Army/Navy game...Pride, and tradition in all of it's glory...Two teams full of young men, who won't be moving on to the NFL...Instead, they'll be moving on to serve our country...Every year my Dad bets Army, since that's the branch he served in...It's the only bet he'll ever make with his heart...And he was hoping to see Army turn things around...Army was looking to break a streak of 10 loses in a row, and were lead by Senior QB, Trent Steelman....

After 3 quarters Army was ahead 13-10...But young Navy QB, Keenan Reynolds drove his team down field late, and scored the go ahead TD...There was under 5 minutes left...Steelman started his team on a 70 yard drive...With time winding down, at the Navy 14 yard line, a hand-off to fullback Larry Dixon, some how, somewhere, went wrong...Dixon fumbled it...Navy recovered it...11 Navy wins in a row...And Steelman took it hard...He was inconsolable after the game...

Honestly, it was hard to watch how broken up this young man was...Even the announcers seemed uncomfortable...

But it was great to see Army in the game...So many in the past few years have been one sided...

-The Cincinnati Bearcats have a new head coach...Tommy Tuberville has left Texas Tech to become the new man in Cincy...Tuberville leaves the Big-12 to go to the Big East?  Or where ever Cincy ends up, because the Big East is just about dead...This should be good for Cincy, since it's been a jumping off point for a number of coaches...Now they have an established guy, who should stick around awhile...This of course was made possible, when Tennessee hired Cincinnati coach Butch Jones...

-The Mount Union Purple Raiders (14-0) are headed to their 8th straight D-3 Championship game...Looking to win their 11th National Championship, they'll face St. Thomas (Minn) Friday, in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl...Seriously people, this is one of the finest football programs in the country, year in and year out...Support the small divisions that do it right, with a playoff...Watch this game!

That's it...See ya Monday...

The Beeze's College Football Wrap Up

This week we start out with the great and powerful SEC, and their premiere team (#1) Alabama'a match up with SEC newcomer (#15) Texas A&M, who finished 6th in the Big-12 last year...Oh, what ever could the lowly Aggies do against the almighty Crimson Tide?

Let's switch that to Crimson Stain....Because 'Bama shit the bed Saturday, falling behind A&M 20-0 in the first quarter...Alabama struggled to fight their way back, and got themselves in position to take the lead...29-24 A&M is ahead..."Bama is driving...And then they shit the bed some more, as A. J. McCarron threw an INT at the goal line with a minute and a half left...

But wait, there's more...The Aggies ran the ball three times...'Bama holds, and uses time outs to save as much clock as possible...4th and short...A&M set to punt...'Bama jumps the neutral zone...FIRST DOWN AGGIES!  Game over!  Eat a dick overrated Alabama...And eat a dick overrated SEC...As every team you have tried to hang your hat on this season, has fallen on their face!

Aggies young, star QB, Johnny Manziel had a big day, passing for 253 yards, and 2 TD's, while rushing for 92 yards...This kid has a bright future ahead of him folks!

-Next we take a look at another SEC darling...(#7) Florida who was at home against Louisiana-Lafayette...This game was way too close if you're a Gator fan...How close? Florida returned a blocked punt for a TD wit two seconds left, to take the lead, and win...Yes, Florida has had a better team than people expected, but when you struggle against ULL, it proves you weren't ready for prime time...

-Speaking of not ready for prime time...(#9) Louisville did what all Big East teams do...Remind us that the Big East is garbage...The Cardinals went down to Syracuse...Syracuse...Thanks to Louisville, these Orange dopes are now a .500 team...Louisville gave up 278 rushing yards to the 'Cuse, as the Orange won 45-26....Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater passed for 424 yards and 3 TD's, and it just wasn't going to be enough on senior day in Syracuse...

-(#2) Kansas State went to Fort Worth to take on TCU, looking to jump up to the #1 spot, with Alabama falling to Texas A&M...Collin Klein and company didn't put up huge numbers this, as they battled and grinded out a tough 23-10 win against the Horn Frogs...The talking heads already have (#3) Oregon leap-frogging to number 1, but I've got K-State at the top spot...Especially since, as I write this, Cal is only down 17-10 against the Ducks, and it's almost halftime...Normally Oregon has hung 50 on teams by this point...

-The (#11) Oregon State Beavers were having a heck of a season until they took their second loss in three weeks...This time at the hands of the (#14) Stanford Cardinal, 27-23...With Cal and Oregon left, Oregon State's season is just going to get tougher...While Stanford heads to Oregon and then to UCLA to finish out their year...I guess their road won't be too easy either...

-Next up, the (#4) Notre Dame Fighting Irish went to Chestnut Hill to face Boston College...

The Irish pounded out 3 long scoring drives, one in each of the first three quarters...They also had another good one going in the 2nd, but it was ended by a George Atkinson fumble...the first of two fumbles forced by BC...Both were good defensive plays, but the Irish defense made sure to keep the Eagles out of the end zone, as the Irish stayed undefeated with a 21-6 victory...

It seems each week, we see a little bit more growth, and confidence in red-shirt freshman QB, Everett Golson...Saturday he passed for 200 yards and 2 TD's, and rushed for 39 yards and another TD...Theo Riddick showed off his versatility rushing for 104 yards and catching 4 passes for 56yards...TE Tyler Eifert continued to improve his draft stock, with 6 catches for 67 yards...But more then that, the most improvement in his game, has been in his blocking...NFL teams gotta love a 6-6, 250 pound TE with great hands, good speed, great jumping ability, and excellent blocking skills...

Next for the Irish, they'll be at home against Wake Forest...Then they head to (#19) USC to finish out the season...The Trojans by the way, worked over Arizona State, 38-17...

-This week's Big Ten highlights...That just sounds silly...The Big Ten is such crap this year...Nothing like your conference's best team being under sanctions, so everything they do means nothing...

(#16) Nebraska had to come from behind to beat Pedo-Cover-Up University, 32-23...Then Michigan beat (#24) Northwestern 38-31 in OT...

-As for (#3) Oregon at Cal...While the Bears have been playing tough, the Ducks have started to do their thing, and have gone up 45-17at the start the 4th quarter...So I'm assuming they will hold on to win...I'm off to bed...We'll see tomorrow...

Feel free to add your two cents...

The Beeze's College Football Wrap Up

Each week I do this wrap up, and each week I include what happened in the Notre Dame game...I don't always lead with it, and I try to stay semi-objective, and not get to rah-rah, go Irish!  But screw it...This week I may have to...I've heard, and read too much of people shitting on Notre Dame and their undefeated start to this season...People saying their schedule is weak...The same schedule that every publication, and every poll said at the start of the season was the toughest in the country...Who knew Michigan State was actually going to repeatedly blow games?  Maybe it's time everyone realizes that preseason polls and rankings are mostly guess work...

Saturday's game in South Bend between #17 Stanford and the #7 Irish was hyped up all week...Everyone saying it's Notre Dame's biggest game...Their real test...Well, those Notre Dame kids know how to to take tests...Once again, the Irish defense lead by captain Manti Te'o, didn't give up a touchdown...That's right, four straight games without giving up a TD...The one Stanford got was scored by their defense on a sack/fumble in the end zone...And this was without a doubt, a defensive battle...Both teams were hitting hard...Both defenses causing turnovers...

Stanford was up 10-3 at halftime...But the Irish battled back, and with under a minute left, they knocked through the tying field goal...Then it was OT...The Irish scored first...Then the defense was pushed to the limit, but held their ground at the goal-line...Stuffing Stanford 4 times inside the 5...twice at the goal-line...Winning 20-13...

Yes, there are people saying the Stanford running back wasn't down on the last attempt, and eventually squeaked over the line...But the replay couldn't prove them right, because the refs had already blown the play dead before he wrenched himself over...The game was already over...Take your crying somewhere else...The Irish won...They are now 6-0...And they should be ranked in the top 5...You don't like it...Either beat them, or fuck off!

Here's the highlights...

The Big-12 had it's premiere game of the season...The infamous, "Red River Shootout"...Sadly, it wasn't the battle of two Big-12 powers that people were hoping to see...Instead it was a 63-21 ass beating of  #15 Texas at the hands of rival  #13 Oklahoma...And that score...Well, it wasn't even that close...The second week in a row that I was shocked by the lack of defense from Texas...

But there was a Texas team that finally showed up with some D...#5 West Virginia brought their high-octane offense to Lubbock, Texas to take on Texas Tech...I was expecting another Big-12 game full of all offensive highlights from both teams...Just like WV's games against Texas and Baylor...But Tech decided to mix in some D, in a game that Vegas had the "over" just under 80...

While WV's Geno Smith played well, he was not this week's star...Instead it was the Red Raiders' QB Seth Doege, who passed for 499 yards, and 6 TD's...Leading his team to a 49-14 win...Hey WV, maybe it's time you start practicing some defense, because hoping you can out dual everyone in shoot-outs isn't gonna cut it...

This game leaves #6 Kansas State at the top of the Big-12, after they won a close one with Iowa State...27-21...Again, it was QB Collin Klein leading the Wildcats to victory, and a 6-0 record...Klein passed for 187 yards, and rushed for 105yards and 3 TD's...But pay attention people...Iowa State, who no one expected to do much this year, is 4-2, and playing tough...

Now we get to the big prime-time match up in the SEC...#3 South Carolina at (shouldn't be) #9 LSU...LSU finally found some offense, mostly on the ground, gaining 258 yards rushing...While their defense, held Marcus Lattimore and the Gamecocks to just 34 yards on the ground...And yet, South Carolina had a 14-10 lead after 3 quarters...But LSU kept pounding, and eventually won 23-21...

The two biggest stats from this game, in my eyes are, Connor Shaw's two interceptions thrown, and South Carolina converting on only 3 of 13, 3rd downs...When they needed to burn clock, they couldn't...And they stalled on too many drives...LSU's defense is the key to their team...Will they be able to find a passing game to go along with their new found, power running?

In another good SEC game, Tennessee went to Starkville to take on #19 Mississippi State...While the Volunteers are now 3-3, they have shown improvement and toughness this year...The Bulldogs were ahead 27-14 at halftime...Half-way through the 4th quarter their lead was only 34-31...But Miss State QB, Tyler Russell and company were too much for the Vols, winning 41-31...Russell passed for 291 yards and 2 TD's...

Don't look now, but #10 Oregon State is 5-0 after rolling BYU 42-24 Saturday...And they did that with their backup QB, Cody Vaz, who hasn't started since high school...Vaz decided to make a good first impression by passing for 332 yards and 3 TD's...That's nice when the backup can put a game like that together...I'm just saying, if I see USC or Stanford ranked ahead of of the Beavers this week, in any poll, that poll has no credibility at all...

And this week's battle of no defense goes to Texas A&M and #23 Louisiana Tech...In a game that came down to the very end, Texas A&M squeaked out a 59-57 win...A&M put up 691 total yards, while Tech racked up 616 total yards...The Aggies offense was lead by QB Johnny Manziel who passed for 396 yards and 3 TD's...He added 3 more TD's and 181 yards on the ground...Tech's QB, Colby Cameron passed for 449 yards and 5 TD's...And his top target was Quinton Patton, who caught 21 passes for 233 yards and 4 TD's...

Second place for the no defense bowl this week was Ohio State and Indiana...I don't include Ohio State's ranking, because they aren't eligible for anything this year, so the ranking is voided in my eyes...The Buckeyes showed some big offense again this week, putting up 578 yards and 52 points on the Hoosiers...Hey, Indiana is a joke when it comes to football, so who's surprised by this?   No one...It's the fact that Indiana hung 481 yards and 49 points on Ohio State...Yeah, the Buckeyes won, but they should slap the shit out of themselves for that defensive performance...

That's it for this week's wrap up...Feel free to leave the highlights of the games you were paying attention to...See ya Monday...
