Monday Moaning

Monday is here again, so it's time for the weekly dose of moaning...This weekend has been a real son of a bitch...My traditional Fish House Saturday double was brutal...Non-stop cooking from 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM...If that wasn't bad enough, my boss who is normally as cock-strong as they come, when it comes to bangin' food, was having an off night...There was a stench coming from his station that reminded me of my baby's diapers!

When I left the Fish House, I was in need of a drink or two...I said I was going to stop for a couple, then this one uber-douchebag server said, "dude I'll be there!" So instead I stopped at a Little Cesar's, grabbed a $5 "Hot & Ready" pie...Walked next door to the liquor store and got a 6-pack of Conway's Irish Ale...Then I headed home...

When I got there, the baby was still up, and gave me a huge smile...Everything was better than...Plus the wife was pissed...She's jealous of how much the baby love dad, and is always throwing smiles and giggles my way...

Sunday morning I checked out the NCAA_HOCKEY_BRACKETS...Yeah, I'm that guy...That's a bracket I could kick ass in...My Fighting Irish have a tough draw...They start with Merrimack, who has been tough all year...If they get past them, they'll have to take on the winner of the Miami/New Hampshire game...Two more solid teams...Miami knocked the Irish out of the CCHA tourney last week, and has gotten real hot at the right time...Is anyone one left out there? I'm picking Boston College to win it all...The Irish just don't have the goaltending this year...Okay, I'll move on...

Then I popped on the Rangers/Penguins game...The Rangers got a much needed win, which will always put a smile on my face...But it was the Penguins, so of course one of those douchebags would piss me off...Good ole Matt Cooke is at it again...Going after another head...Here's Cooke throwing an elbow at Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh...



Cooke has taken cheap shot after cheap shots at people...Going after knees, and heads for years...He's been find and suspended multiple times...The NHL needs to put their foot down, and bring the hammer down on this ass-hat!


Sunday evening I had my Fantasy Baseball draft...Our buddy Jeff is running the league, and it seems like a good group of smart guys...Half I know from the Gab...

The draft itself was, well how do I describe this without being a dick...It was brutal! There was a guy I don't know in the 2 hole...Puljos went 1st...I never thought I would see some one in the 2 hole take their full 2 minutes to make a pick...After all that waiting, he didn't do anything sexy...He didn't surprise anyone...He took Hanley Ramirez...The # 2 guy on the board...But that wasn't all...He ate the clock on every pick...And by the comment section, I wasn't the only one losing my mind...



It got worse...The Little Beeze was all hyped up, and overtired, and being a real pain in the ass...He kept pestering the wife, and getting crazy around the baby...Then his mouth wouldn't stop...So in mid-draft, as I was on the phone with my pals Sully and Steve, talking about how quickly the blind draft, I had to get in the boys face...Then the water-works started...Then more mouthiness, then he passed out on the couch...

From there, the draft dragged on...The commish adjusted the time limit as it progressed, but the damage had been done...I had to break out the charger to finish...

As I write this, Notre Dame is getting worked by FSU...I picked the Irish to win it...Why not, I don't know shit about Basketball! The team I had them beating in the Final, just got bounced tonight...Sorry Steve, I know watching Marquette take out your Syracuse Orange had to hurt...

Well, what are you going to? Cry? Sometimes you just have to have a little Blind Faith....




One last thing...Ohio State fans, please stop acting like Jim Tressel just nailed himself to the cross, and is going to wash away all of your sins...He's just doing his best politician spin, and you dopes are eating it up...

Monday Moaning

As I start this post, I'm finishing off my 3rd pot of coffee for the day...Not so much hungover today...More like, really f**kin' tired...I did knock back a number of beers Saturday night...The Mrs. Myself and friends of ours went to the Fish House's sister restaurant...The Steak House...I started with Great Lakes Dortmunder...followed by more! We had a nice App Platter...Then I had the 20 oz. Cowboy Steak...It was awesome...After talking about 2 Girls 1 Cup, I decided I wanted the Chocolate Mousse for dessert!

Even better then the Mousse was ripping on the dolt at the table next to us...This dip-shit couldn't put Blackberry down...F**k-tard had to keep tweeting about his evening...

What a dolt! He had all the markings of a douche-bag...The only thing missing was the word, douche-bag tattooed across his forehead...

We had a great time...Our friends had left their 2 year old at our house with our sitter...Based on the drinking and the distance of their drive, we kept her for the night...So 6:00 AM rolls around, and I wake up to the sound of a little 2 year old girl having a conversation with herself...By 6:30 she was calling for some one to get her...I went in and she asked where the little Beeze was...He was in the bed next to her and popped right up...The two of them were non-stop for few hours there! And I've been running coffee and the hope of getting lucky tonight...Well, it's just you and me coffee!

Let's get on with some sports...If the NCAA Basketball brackets getting screwed up wasn't bad enough...This week the NCAA Hockey Tournament started Friday and well, that has been just as crazy...The tourney opened with RIT beating top seeded Denver 2-1...RIT? RIT? Rochester Institute of Technology...That's right people...Other winners Friday...Wisconsin beat Vermont 3-2...St. Cloud State topped Northern Michigan in double OT 4-3...And New Hampshire took down Cornell 6-2...

Saturday Boston College beat Alaska 3-1...Wisconsin topped St. Cloud 5-3...Then the upset kids RIT rolled New Hampshire 6-2...Michigan handled Bemidji State 5-1...Miami took out Alabama-Huntsville 2-1...And Yale beat North Dakota 3-2...

Before Sundays games I yelling at my prediction like this guy yells at cats!



Worst part is, I've yelled at the boy like that!

So Sunday...BC topped Yale in a score-fest, 9-7...Michigan just lost to Miami 3-2 in double OT...Miami goalie Connor Knapp was standing on his head...55 Saves! Great game!

On next to the NHL...I find it a little disturbing that the league is having trouble putting a rule in place that would do away with blind-side head shots...Yet, just a couple years ago, they were able to get the "Avery Rule" in place within a day after his super douche move...

But us Hockey fans shouldn't be surprised by Gary Bettman and gang dragging their feet...Don't get me wrong...I love the violence of hockey...I'm not saying get rid of the hitting...A good, clean open ice hip check is poetry in motion...That's all good...Don't get rid of the fighting...People want to say it's bad for the game, but every night there's a fight, the building goes crazy...But the blind-side head shots have to stop...

Sunday night we had our YouGabSports Fantasy Baseball draft...Some how I had the first pick...I was feeling a bit caught off guard...And after a minute or two I picked Tim Lincecum...I'm questioning that pick a bit, but what the hell...The kid is a beast...I followed him up wit Victor Martinez, and my 3rd pick was Cliff Lee...I fell a bit week in the outfield, but I do have some speed there with Denard Span, Andrew McCutchen, and Scot Podsednik...I also have Ryan Ludwick and Mark Teahen out there...Teahen qualifies ath 1st and 3rd also...Hopefully I won't be out of it by June!

Now I often close with a tale about the Little Beeze...This one will be different...The kid was great this weekend...Well behaved, listened well, and didn't cover the walls with shit...We went to a "Lent Sucks" party Friday...He was great with the other kids there...Great with the adults, most he didn't know...It was a late night for him, so I was worried...We got there about 7:30 PM, and didn't leave until almost 10:00PM...he's normally in bed by 8:30...For the first time he wasn't "That Kid" the one that makes a scene...So this is what a proud father feels like!

Monday Moaning....A Couple Days Late

Sorry for the delay gang...The Beeze was, as they say in Boston...Wicked F*ckin' Sick! I caught a serious case of the flu...Which has been ripping through the Fish House...

I originally though I was just getting sick watching the Fighting Irish lose their first round tournament game, to Bemidji State...Bemidji State? Yes there is such a place, and they play excellent hockey...As a matter of fact, they skated circles around the Irish...Beating them 5-1

But Notre Dame wasn't the only top seed to fall this weekend...Air Force upset Michigan....Miami beat Denver...The only top seed that got out of the first round was Boston University....the Terriers beat Ohio State (who shouldn't have gotten in) 8-3...It wasn't even that close!

The weekend was full of other great games....Minnesota-Duluth came back late to tie Princenton....Then put the Tigers away in overtime...But Minnesota-Duluth would not get past a hot Miami team, as the Red Hawks took the West Region...

In the East Region Vermont took out Yale 4-1...Then went to double overtime with Air Force, before winning 3-2, and heading to DC for the Frozen Four...

In the Northeast Region the winner of two traditional college hockey powers...New Hampshire and North Dakota, would face BU for a trip to DC....The Sioux were up 5-3 in the third...But the Wildcats of UNH battled back....Tying the game with under 5 seconds left...Then UNH finished the comeback 15 seconds into OT....This game was awesome! Unfortunately For the Wildcats it was short lived...They lost the next night to BU 2-1 with 15 seconds left in regulation...

That brings us to the Midwest Region...Cornell beat Northeasterb 3-2...Then came the Irish melt down...Really it isn't all on the Irish...The beavers of Bemidji State played a great game...The Beavers goalie Matt Dalton was outstanding...And Tyler Scofield was without a doubt the best player on the ice all night....So what would Bemidji State do against Cornell...WIN AGAIN! 4-1...The Beavers join Boston University, Vemont, and Miami, in the Frozen Four....

This was a very disappointing way to end the season for the Irish...The team had high hopes...as did big mouths like me! On the slightly brighter side...Irish center Christian Hanson signed a 2 year deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs this week...Best of luck to him....


In other new in the world of the Beeze....The Mrs. did something very special for me this week....No guys...Not the BLUMPY....She colored her hair red for me...

Sunday night the You Gab crew, had our D&T Fantasy Baseball draft...I was lucky enough to be picking 11th out of 12...As I sat there wrapped in a blanket, around round 5 I began to wonder what the hell I was doing...I'm not thrilled with my team but I projected myself getting about 7 of the players I did...Here's how it went....
