Monday Moaning

I always feel like the weekends fly by...Saturdays not so much, but Sundays always seem to get right past me...It's just unreal how the time goes by when you're not having to grind through the work week...

I've been feeling pretty negative lately...I mean look at some of my lat few posts...There was THIS about a stupid "Unfair" PSA...Fucking assholes! Then I had THIS ranting and raving about idiots being offended by comedy...But then there was Penn State, Jerry Sandusky, and Joe Pateron to really keep my blood boiling HERE...Yeah, the PSU crew has been really good at keeping my blood pressure up since November...

So even though my Monday Moaning post normally is filled with more negativity, I'm going to try and be a bit more positive this week...I figured I hammered out enough anger the last couple weeks...Let's start with this bit I saw on "The New York Rangers Blog"...They got a tip from Julie Robenhymer at HockeyBuzz about young, talented, star winger, Chris Kreider after he had played in a charity game...

"After the game, the players posed for a team picture and then headed towards the locker rooms to shower and change....except for one. Chris Kreider saw a kid along the boards waving a pen at him. He skated over and went up and down that side of the rink signing everything handed to him...Forty-five minutes later he made his way back to the bench where a few volunteers were waiting for a picture. At this point, all of the other players had showered, changed and left the rink and while the ice was being resurfaced behind him, Kreider continued to sign autographs and take pictures with anyone and everyone who wanted one as a new line formed near the entrance to the bench."

It's really great to see a young guy these days, that actually gets it...It's been awhile since I've seen a story like that.

-As many of you may know, I coached the Little Beeze's Tee-Ball team the last two Summers...This year he moved up to Coach Pitch, and yes, I'm coaching again...The coaches aren't actually pitching...The rec has high school kids that work there, do the pitching, catching and umping...

Early on my team was looking rough...The boy throws and hits well...The last couple weeks he has been just ripping line-drives past people...But he was always doing a home run trot, no matter how the ball was hit...We fixed that...There is another kid with a great baseball IQ, that his dad drilled into him...He was suppose to help coach, but he flaked out...He never showed for practices, and shows for half the games, and rides his kid...His kid then tends to yell at other kids on the team if they boot one, or don't make "the right" play...One game I had enough, and told him, "Be quiet, you made 3 errors today...You yell at anyone again, you won't play the rest of the rest of the season on my team!"

You see, this is a league that doesn't keep score...It's about kids having fun, learning the basics, getting outside, and playing with others...I've excepted that, and embraced it...So fuck that kid being an asshole, because his dad's an asshole...(Yeah, just got a bit negative)

We have an 8 year old boy who crushes the ball, and is pretty good in the field...And a 9 year old girl who is awesome at it all...She'll be on her way to a softball scholarship...Then there is a 7 year old boy with no attention span at all, and is often leaving the field to pee, or get a drink...When he's on the field, he's playing in the dirt...So he has found a lot of time in the outfield...His older sister started out afraid of catching the ball, and having trouble hitting...She's gotten better in the field, and is ripping into the ball now...

Then there is our little peanut...She's a tiny 7 year old...The smallest bat we have, are too big for her...She should have been in Tee-Ball, but they put her here...She's never played before...She's been held back a bit by her home life...Her mother with a disability, and two younger kids, plus bouncing between mom's house and dad's house...I'll be honest, I've worked more with her, then any of the other kids...That may sound bad, but she learned how to throw, at our first practice...She's always smiling, and positive...A couple weeks ago, she fielded a ball in the infield, and made the throw to first...The runner was safe, but I was thrilled, and so were the people in the stands...

Hitting has been tough...The league rules say, after 4 swings they use the tee...But at the beginning of the year, all the coaches agreed to screw that, give them 5 and then it's a strike out...This is about learning, and we want the kids to learn to hit off the pitch, and that failing is part of the game, and it's okay...There are a couple kids that coaches have used the tee for, that were really struggling...

Peanut had gotten a few hits that were weak...really weak grounders...The kids pitching were trying their best to hit the bat with the pitch...She never cries, or gets down about it...She feels good when she gets a foul ball...And the parents and others watching in the stands have been great...Everyone, including from the other teams, are rooting for her...When she's made contact, they go wild...And the kids pitching and catching, often say one more...Everyone is pulling for our peanut...

Lately, it seems like she is a bit frustrated...Our game on the 3rd was rained out, even though it rained in the morning, and the fields were fine...Oh, and they neglected to call the coaches...I ended up running a practice with kids from my team and 3 other teams...One was tee ball team...And that coach had a tee with him...Peanut was batting and after about 15 pitches, she asked if she could try the tee...I said sure...She ripped it...She hit a few more times off the tee, and you could see the excitement and confidence it gave her...Afterwards she asked if she could use a tee in the games...I said, "How about we still try the pitches, and if you don't get it after a few, then we'll use the tee?" She said okay, with a big smile on her face...

This past week she needed the tee, but that's okay...She got 3 hits in each game...And her confidence is growing...She wants to play 3rd base this week...Tuesday I'm going to put her there...And the kid with the asshole dad is going in the outfield...She's got a much better attitude, and hasn't made nearly as many errors!

This week is our last week of the season...I've heard other coaches who don't want to be there, and can't wait for it to be over...Me, I'm going to miss it...And I'll be excited for next year...Oh, and during that practice we had...My oldest decided to join us...She's never played, and she did great...She wants to play next year...I may be coaching two teams!

That's it for now....Have a week...

Tee-Ball Season Begins

Today we squeezed in our first official Tee-Ball game of the season...This is my second season of coaching the Little Beeze's team...This year our name is the Riverdogs...And we have a bad-ass team...Unlike last year, every kid can kind of the throw...The Little Beeze has a great arm, and there is a 2 little girls, and 5 other boys who can throw well...There are only a couple kids that we've had to work with at all, and they have gotten right away...

Most of the kids are hitting well too...Just a couple having trouble, but they'll get there...So, as I said, we squeezed in the first official game today...Between morning thunderstorms, and now the evening storms...It was also picture day...Can't wait to post the boy's evil grin with his bat in hand...

Now this is one of those Pussification of American youth leagues...No keeping score...Everyone bats, it doesn't matter if you get 3 outs, the whole team bats, then you switch...At this age, (5-6 year olds) I'm okay with the everyone batting...But not keeping score bothers me...There should be winning and losing...Kids need to know that losing exists...I made sure that the staff knew that I keep score...How? By how many outs are made...

Well, in game one the Riverdogs dominated...Ripping the ball past their front line of defense, and getting some past their secondary infielders...(3 kids play across an arch near the pitchers mound...Then there are 7 infielders behind them)...The boy laced one through the middle...They got one of our base runners out in the first inning...

Then we took the field...The Little Beeze was playing the third-base side on the arch...That inning he threw a runner out at 1st, home, and 3rd...We got three other runners out...6-1 in my book...Onto the second and usually final inning...(time limit league)...We hit the hell out of the ball some more, and they got one runner out...Little Beeze got his second hit, ripping it down the 3rd base line...

Their last at bat I, being the quality coach that I am, rotated the positions, so everyone gets a chance at some ground ball action...It was humid, and this is the point when the kids lose a bit of focus...We only got one base runner out...Final, 7-2 Riverdogs...Handshakes, and then coach Beeze broke out the "Capri Suns"...

Thursday evening we'll be back at it, and I expect more of the same...It's gonna be a good season!

Later, The Beeze.

Monday Moaning

So I have always made it a point to be honest in my writing...It doesn't matter if I'm writing about sports, politics, food, or the blow job my wife gave me last night...I have always written my 100% honest, and true, thoughts and opinions...I'll never stop doing this...What's the point in writing something you don't believe in? So for those who don't like my honest views on Cleveland, and it's sports teams, you won't like another blog of mine...

Baseball season got started this past weekend, and you can imagine my rage, when I read in "The Cleveland Plain Dealer" that Indians DH Travis Hafner thinks this shitty team can win the Central division...Yeah, Travis Hafner, who has trouble hitting his own weight...Travis Hafner, who strikes out in the clutch, but is always good for a meaningless homerun, when the game is out of reach...Travis Hafner who has been injured, and lacking power ever since MLB cracked down on 'Roids...This ass-hat can't even field a position...Shut the fuck up dummy! Oh, and from dealing with your wife personally in my line of work, let me just say, she's a real twat!

So after this, the Tribe went out opening day and gave up 15 runs to the White Sox...Now they did try to comeback late, but as usual, it was too little, too late...They lost again Saturday 8-3...they did win Sunday 7-1 behind some strong pitching from Justin Masterson...Next up is the struggling Red Sox...Something tells me 3 games with the tribe may be just what the doctor ordered...

I'm not going to get into all the problems with the Indians that I listed last week...For those of you I was battling with on Twitter Saturday, go back and read...Yeah, I had a bit of a think going on Twitter...One publication posted a story about the piss-poor attendance on Saturday, and over the past few years...Real simple...Put shit on the field, you'll get shit for attendance...

Oh, and Cleveland Indians, lose those stupid looking red caps...They look retarded! Yes, it seems there is a new cap every year, that the Tribe hopes will catch on, in never ending quest to be PC, and get rid of Chief Wahoo...Knock it off you twats!

Okay, have I beat on the Tribe enough? for now I have...

But if there is a Cleveland blogger out there, who only sees things through rose colored glasses, I would glady take you on in a "He said She said" debate on any Cleveland topic....

This past week I signed the Little Beeze up for T-Ball again, and yes, I'll be coaching again...Some one has to keep bucking this everyone is a winner bullshit system! We also signed up for Flag Football...And my daughter signed up for cheer leading...Why the hell does T-Ball cost $35...Flag Football Cost $65...But Cheer leading cost $100....$100 for rah-rah-sis-boom-bah! WTF!?!

So Saturday, I didn't have to work a double at the Fish House...We did some family stuff...Then that evening the wife and I went to dinner with our friends May and Bryan...No where fancy, just to a chain place called Texas Roadhouse...The Mrs. and I have been there a number of times...They have great steaks...Awesome homemade rolls with honey cinnamon butter...The place is always packed...The service is good...It has that authentic Texas feel...Well at least a stereotypical feel...Lots of wood...Pictures of cattle...Awful country music...Free peanuts, and peanut shells all over the floor...Apparently, in Texas people just throw peanut shells all over the floor...Can my friends in Texas tell me if this is how it really is...

But like I said, the steaks are great...Better than what you expect from a chain place...I wanted to stay out longer, and keep sluggin' beers, but the wife wanted to get home early...It was the baby's first time with our sitter...Everything was fine, and after I got the baby to sleep, the wife did the old, Drop and Gobble!

After that I got online, and saw something that brought me great joy...Charlie Sheen and his "Violent Torpedo of Truth," crashed and burned in Detroit Saturday night...READ_HERE

In baby news, My wife has been very jealous of how much little Molls is all about Daddy...She's always giving me the smiles, and reaching for me...She doesn't realize mentally I'm just not that far away from where kids are! Then it really got under her skin this week when I got her first kisses...Nice, drool filled, baby kisses...

So I believe last week I said it would be UConn and Butler in teh Final...Good guess! So I say uConn wins...Will you be watching? I won't...Who do have winning?

Now I'll get out of here with a song...Friday on O&A, Jay Mohr was talking music, and brought up the song "Silver Fuck" by Smashing Pumpkins...I went back and listened to it, and realized what a great album "Siamese Dream" was...Then I started getting into some other stuff from my youth...Look for me to start posting a song of the day on facebook and twitter...So here is another song from that album..."Mayonaise."

Have a week...

Tuesday Night Frustration

So Monday's post included some of my frustration about my son's Tee-Ball league, which I'm also a coach in...Well the frustration just grew a little more...Tonight was a scheduled practice...The rec department schedules a couple practices at the start of the season...2 teams practice together, there are stations setup to work on fielding, hitting, and running the bases...It a good beginner thing for the kids, and the coaches...But...

1st problem...A couple parents sent there kids without their caps and shirts...Not a huge deal, but the color coded caps help the kids (5 year olds) know who is on their team...Helps me too! After practice, I asked the one mother who has two kids on my team, if she had picked up their caps and shirts from the rec center...If not I could get them for her now...This twat comes back at me with the bitchiest tone, and said, "It's just practice, I didn't know they needed them today!" Now maybe I just think logically and others don't, but bitch, you have a copy of the schedule, and it shows two teams on the same field at the same time...To me it just makes sense to throw the cap and shirt on the kids...But I played nice, and said, "It's no problem, I just wanted to make sure the kids got their stuff." Her twaty tone perked up again with a, "Well, they did!" Her poor f**king husband must think about eating a gun every night...He's probably seen the R. Budd Dwyer
VIDEO and thought, 'he probably didn't feel a thing.'

2nd problem...The woman who runs the baseball programs for the rec is very nice, and works well with kids, and probably gets paid squat, but this everyone one wins crap is just awful...Today my team, The Sea Wolves were out there with The Flying Squirrels...(All the team names are minor league names)...After the practice was done, she had all the two teams line up, and they had a relay race...As I said Monday, I'm not the ultra competitive dad, but if you win, you win, if you lose, you lose...Not here folks...The Sea Wolves beat the Flying Squirrels by about 6 steps in the relay...Afterwards she says, "Guess who won?" The kids, on both teams yelled "THE SEA WOLVES!" This chick says, "EVERYONE!" Oh for the love of God lady, take a cue from the kids...They know who won, and the kids that lost didn't care, they were just as excited at my team...REDONKULUS!

So after we got home, i gave the little Beeze a bath, then sat down and watched some of the Indians vs the Mets...The Tribe was 4-1...Then the infield started playing worse then my Tee-Ballers...Hey Masterson, little Lilly on my team can make that trow to first! Valbuena, the little beeze knows to cover first on that bunt...WHY DON'T YOU? Then the wheels came off and the score was 6-4...The Mets won 7-6...

So I figured maybe I'll watch the President's speech about his plan for dealing with the oil spill...That should calm me down...This could have been one of those moments that Presidents have...He could have shown us the leader we want to see in our Commander in Chief...Instead, he played it safe...I'm appointing this guy to this...I'm appointing this guy to that...I'm starting a Blue Ribbon Commission about this...What's with all the Czars? What the hell is this Blue Ribbon Commission...Are we judging the best cow, or biggest pumpkin contest...NO! We're making the world's largest batch of Vinaigrette! Grow some stones! He said BP will compensate people for their loses...Are they? Prove it! Sorry, I just don't believe BP...

There are numerous people that have gone down and volunteered to help with the cleanup, that are getting seriously ill, because BP officials are telling them not to wear masks, respirators, and safety suits, 'cause it looks bad...All this speech has done, is help prove that ever President in my lifetime has been in bed with Big Oil...Why not? They clearly know what they're doing!

Okay, off of that soapbox...

Now, before I go, let's play a little, Today in Baseball History...

Today in 1938 John Vandermeer of the Cincinnati Reds pitched his second of two consecutive no-hitters, beating the Brooklyn Dodgers 6-0...The first was a 3-0 win over the Boston Braves...

This no-hitter against the Dodgers was done during what was the first night game ever at Ebbets Field...

That's it for now...

Monday Moaning

Last week I wrote about how I feel Baseball is dying...Well I may have found the root to this problem...Tee-Ball! My journey into coaching has started and I have to say, What the f**k!?! My God Tee-Ball has changed over the years...I'm not liking these rules...Back in my day, we used wood bats...You're still able to use them, but most don't...Well the Beeze's Sea Wolves will be using wood bats...These kids are gonna be cock strong! But that's not the real problem...The real problem is some of the rules...You can make outs, but there's no 3 outs and it's the end of the inning...Nope, the whole lineup bats, then switch...That goes on for 45 minutes, then game over...Then there's the no running on an overthrow...WHAT? They want you to play 8 infielders and 4 outfielders...Luckily I don't have to do that nonsense since my team and most the others only have 10 kids...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not the ultra-competitive Dad, crazy asshole parent...I know, it's Tee-Ball, and it's about introducing the kids to Baseball and the fundamentals, but they seem to be taking some of the fundamentals out of youth sports these days...This is another example of the pussification of our youth...At the end of the year, everyone gets a trophy...Listen, when I played, only the winners got trophies...1 year we won it all, and got a trophy...The next we didn't, and we got nothing...That's ball, and that's life...But now everyone needs there kids coddled...They all need to be winners...Guess what? THEY AREN'T!!! You're setting them up for a devastating blow when they get older, and they lose, and they get nothing!

I'm going to do my best to teach these kids some fundamentals while having fun doing it...I'm not trying to take the fun out of this, but damn it, they need to know which of my 8 infielders covers 1st base if the first baseman needs to field a ball!

Moving along...Stephen Strasburg came to Cleveland this weekend and helped the Tribe sell some tickets...The kid looked good again, but he looked a little more human...He actually walked 5 batters, and ONLY struck out 8! Now the pitchers mound giving out on him may have helped that a bit, but when you're a Cleveland team, you gotta do whatever you can to try and win...Which they didn't! On a side note, Indians outfielder Trevor Crowe, who has been one of the many highly tauted prospects in the organization, has spent the last week proving the hype wrong...He has botched 3 fly balls so badly, it looks like Ray Charles is playing Center Filed for the Tribe...I never thought I'd actually miss overrated Grady Sizemore...

Quick NBA update...The Celtics took a 3-2 series lead over the Lakers...Now they head back to LA for games 6 and 7 if needed...I hope the Celtics just take game 6 so I don't have to see Anymore basketball for a few months...

Don't ask me about the World Cup...I have no idea what the hell is going on there...But clearly The New York Post knows something I don't...

Last time I checked, a game ending with a 1-1 score was a tie...So either the New York Post is f**king stupid, or soccer is...Maybe both...Can some one help me with this?

College Football has been crazy this past week...This team is going here, that team is going there, where the hell are those teams gonna go...At first I was annoyed by it...Now, I'm seeing a possibility of something good...Let's say, the Big-10, Pac-10, SEC, and ACC swallow up the rest of the Big12 and the Big East...4 super conferences...This could help lead to an actual playoff format...Of course you throw the smaller guys like the MAC, Mountain West, Conference-USA a slot each...Just an idea...What you think?

Now, this weeks tweet of the week...(You may not want to click the link if you're at work!)

"Alexa_DiCarlo: WARNING: If you DON'T want to see a video of a very rough BJ w/ lots of hard face slapping, DON'T click on this!
http://bit.ly/cX1CBM "

Clearly, I'm a bit of a perv...Bouncing around online I find all kinds of stuff...Sometimes I hit those special sites...Once in awhile I'll watch a CUCKOLD video...I was watching this one, but the mood got ruined when the Cuckold puke...

I know some one was worried they were about to watch some freaky porn!

Speaking of which...Saturday night I was out with some friends, and if you know me, the conversation always ends up on sex...A friend there is the same way, and we had great time drinking beers and making people uncomfortable...There's nothing more honest then some real, down and dirty sex talk...When it comes to talking openly and honestly about sex and relationships, there's no one better at it then Patrice O'Neal...

That's it for now gang...Have a great week...

Later, The Beeze.
