Thanks / No Thanks

Well, it's the night before Thanksgiving...I worked all day...Came home and started working more...I got the dry rub on the Turkey...I roasted off Spaghetti Squash, cooled it down, then scraped it out...Tomorrow it will tossed in a saute pan with butter, brown sugar and salt & pepper...I also roasted the sweet potatoes...Again, brown sugar and butter were a big part of this...The Mrs. has a sweet tooth!

The house is mostly clean for our guests, but I'm sure the boy will trash it twice before everyone gets here...Now, everyone is asleep, and I was just pondering the things I'm thankful for...Which let to me pondering the things I'm not s thankful for...So here's a couple of lists all mixed up together like roasted garlic mashed potatoes...

Thanks: For my amazing, smart, sexy, loving, wonderful, hard working, wife...Who for some reason fell for me, and puts up with my crap...Especially all the crap I write about, that most people wouldn't their spouse to share...

No Thanks: sports fans who act like total and complete douche bags...You may have heard that Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen was punched outside a South Bend bar/restaurant...By who? I loyal Notre Dame fan...I've heard and read a few different versions of the story, but what I get from all of them is this...A "FAN" gave a young lady Clausen was with, some sh!t...Clausen stepped in...Shoved the douche, and got punched in the eye...Listen, I understand Irish fans being pissed...I am...But not at Clausen...The kid has been great this year...He's busted his ass for the team...And you sure as hell don't start sh!t with a girl he's with...You're not a fan...You're an asshole!

Thanks: My daughter...She talks almost constantly...But I'll take it...She's almost 8 and still wants to talk to me...I'm okay with that...She's wicked smart...Like her mom...And honestly, she's the closest thing to an angel, that I'll most likely ever get to know...

No Thanks: The Davey O'Brien Award committe...I don't want to seem like Jimmy Clausen's PR guy, but what the f**k? I couldn't stand the kid when he got to South Bend...And he had a couple of crap seasons...And he's always had a bit of a douche bag swagger...But the award is about this year...And he's been outstanding...Yet he wasn't named a finalist... http://blog.daveyobrien.org/2009/11/23/2009-o’brien-quarterback-award-finalists-announced/

Here's his stats this season...266 completions on 395 attempts...3382 yards...67.3 completion percentage...23 touchdowns and 4 interceptions...

Stupid Tim Tebow's stats...(in the same order) 145 out of 223...For 1945 yards...65%...14 TD...4INT...

Colt McCoy...286 out of 392 for 3024...73%...23TD...9INT...
Casey Keenum...387 out of 553 for 4599...70%...36TD...6INT...

Unreal...Why is Tebow included? Don't give me the "he's a running threat also" crap...he rushed for 706 yards and 11 TD's...Clausen rushed for 3 so he's still got more TD's...And if you add Tebow's rushing yards, it still doesn't come close to Clausen or the other two...F**k Tim Tebow, and all the media dolts swinging on his nuts! No Thanks to him too!

Thanks: My son...He's a pain in the ass...But he gives me good material to write about...He also gives me something else...A glimpse of myself, when I was young...Which leads to him getting a glimpse of my father when he was younger...Via the way I respond to how he acts...We often grow up saying we aren't going to be like our parents...My son has shown me that being like my old man, isn't a bad thing...
No Thanks: Disgustingly fat people making videos, they think are funny, about being disgustingly fat...

Feel free to drop dead now, you fattastic, fatty, pig, fatty!

Thanks: Funny Thanksgiving videos...Okay, it's kinda dumb, but I laughed...Beastiality does that!

Thanks: Everyone who reads this nonsense I post, and keeps coming back for more...I appreciate it...Have a Happy and wonderful Thanksgiving!

Monday Moaning

What a weekend! It all started with Friday...The little Beeze turned 5 years old...Time is flying...After dinner, and opening some of his gifts, we got the little guy and his sister ready for bed...He hadn't been feeling 100%...A couple days earlier he had a some shots and was feeling some side effects...But before bed, he informed my wife that he "loves kissing and licking boobies!" That's my boy!

During the night he woke up with a slight fever...I gave him Motrin...he started feeling better around 2:00 AM...Then he was wide awake...So there I am watching Nick Jr. with him at two in the morning...He crashed sometime after 3:00AM...

Saturday we got ready for the big bowling birthday party...We got to the bowling alley and got everything set...Then waited for people to show...6 girls and 1 boy later, it was time for bumper bowling...That's right, there was only one other little boy there...My boy was in his glory with all the little girls...5-8 year olds, Bowling, eating pizza, hot dogs, and grilled cheese, cake, presents...Oh the noise...Thank God there's a bar in this place!

So after that, I'm looking to chill out and watch a little Fighting Irish football...The Irish aren't real big on letting me relax...But they pulled out another victory...A 37-30 overtime win over the Washington Huskies...
http://irishbuzz.blogspot.com/2009/10/irish-beat-washington-37-30-in-overtime.html

Then came Sunday...I had a lot on my mind...For those who don't hangout at the Gab http://www.yougabsports.com/ ...I have decided to give up on the Cleveland Browns...1) they suck, and have since they returned in 1999...2) This isn't my Browns...My team left...3) I hate the coach...just another in a long line of douche bag coaches this organization has hired...4) I've spent my life rooting for losers in this town...I became a free agent fan...I wagered my fandom on one game...The original Browns...The Baltimore Ravens vs. the New England Patriots...

Well, it's official...I'm now a New England Patriots fan...

By the way...The Cleveland Clowns lost to the Bengals in overtime...I gotta say, I was really pissed the game wasn't blacked out...Nothing can ruin a Sunday afternoon like watching the Browns...

Sunday morning, I decided to take my mind off this crazy football nonsense...Mrs. Beeze went into work for a few hours...I had been promising to take the kids to Build-A-Bear...If you've never done this, here's a few pointers...1) You better have plenty of money...Or be able to say no to your kids...2) Bring your patience...But if your a push-over like me, you'll be okay with it, when you see how happy the kids are...The girl got a Jonas Brothers Puppy with sparkly pants and a T-shirt...Yes, they have clothes to dress your animal up in....The boy got a monkey with khakis a button down shirt and a sweater vest...The finally tally at Build-A-Bear was about $80...It's gonna be some time before we go back...

I picked up a new Red Sox hoodie for the playoffs...I scouted for Ravens gear...Luckily they lost...'Cause finding Ravens sh!t in Cleveland just ain't happening...I also picked up a new purse for the wife...Just trying to get some!

They keep saying the economy sucks...Well I did my part, and there were tons of people at this mall...And yes, it was a real mall...You know, where you go inside a big ass building that's full of stores, and has a food court...

I don't know what it's like everywhere else, but here they keep building these malls that are a bunch of stores that aren't connected...Maybe that's why more people shop online during the holidays...They don't want to keep walking into a store...Unbuttoning there coats, taking off hats, all that crap...Then have to bundle up and go back outside, and walk to another shop...It's f**king stupid...It gets cold here...It snows...What the f**k are you dummies thinking?

Anyway, I'm done b!tching about that...It was a crazy weekend, but fun...Hope yours was good...Have a great week...

Later, The Beeze.

Monday Moaning

Here we are again...Another weekend has blown by and another Monday is upon us...Hockey season is getting ready to start and we so I thought I'd start with a little hockey news...I know last week I complained about the NHL season being too long...I still feel that way, and I'm still not in the hockey mode yet...But Some news has to be talked about....

This week "The Great One" Wayne Gretzky resigned from the Phoenix Coyotes...It's about time Wayne...I don't mean to sh!t on Gretzky...He was the man, and I've always been a fan...But he proved something that has been proven many times before...Great players don't always make great coaches...When I say "don't always" I mean most the time!

When you're are so naturally gifted, and things seem to make sense easily to you...It's gotta be hard to translate that to people who don't have the same talent level...I always think of Ted Williams when I think of Gretzky...The science of hitting made so much sense to Williams...It came so much more easily for him then others...It had to make him nuts when he was working with a younger player, and they weren't getting the same results...

I'd like to suggest that Wayne and the Mrs. take it easy...Maybe take a trip to Vegas...We know how she likes to gamble!

Moving on...Saturday, after working a double at The Fish House, I got to enjoy a little Notre Dame football...God Bless DVR! Jimmy Clausen nutted up and the Irish beat Purdue 24-21...
http://irishbuzz.blogspot.com/2009/09/irish-top-purdue-24-21.html

On the topic of college football...This weeks games showed us once again that the preseason rankings are crap...And that any team can beat anyone else...As I sat in a little Irish dive bar after work, I enjoyed seeing Iowa beat Penn State in Not So Happy Valley...I know people love JoPa...Well guess what...I don't! He's old...Really f**king old, and often the game looks like it's passed him by...The old guy is a figurehead...It's time to hang those big old stupid glasses up and enjoy the last couple golden years you got left...
-
Cal got worked over by Oregon, who was wearing another stupid looking uniform this weekend...
-
Tebow got hurt...Erin Andrews cried...I laughed...Tebow is a douche!
-
The always overrated Florida State Seminoles lost South Florida...AWESOME! (sorry EK)
-
Stanford beat Washington...Way to show up after last week's big win Huskies!
-
I love this...The BCS is gonna be all f**ked up this year...I can feel it!
-
Then Sunday rolls around...Holy sh!t Batman! the Lions won! I sh!t you not...the Detroit Lions won a football game! The Cleveland Browns on the other hand...Well, they sh!t the bed again...
This guy does a great impression of the Browns....

The Browns Offense sucked again...The Defense sucked again...The Coaches, sucked again...then they lifted Brady Quinn...
-

Derek Anderson came into game and made a strong statement by throwing an interception...Ahhh, Cleveland...Let the QB controversy begin!
-
You know, this year, I gave up on the Indians...Last year my buddy, B-Dub switched his loyalty from the Eagles to Panthers...I think it's time for me to start looking for a new team...I've been a Browns fan my whole life...I have far too many Browns sweatshirts, and T-shirts, and yes, even jerseys of assholes who never made it...Fans have been the only thing consistently loyal in sports...And what do we get for it...Nothing! Yes there are cities with teams that actually put the time, money, energy, and effort, into giving their fans a winning team...But not enough...And not in Cleveland...So I going free-agent...F**k off Browns...I'm going to a team that has a shot to contend this year!
-
Now I have a little advice for all my gambling friends out there...No matter who the Browns are playing...No matter what the line is...Bet against the browns...If it's 11 guys in wheel chairs against the Browns...I'll take the Hot Wheels, and give you 3 points!
-
If it's the Browns versus Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs...I'll take the b!tch riding the midget train!
-

In Beeze family news this week...My daughter now has short hair...She donated her hair this weekend to Wigs for Kids...There was no coaxing...She brought it up, and said she wanted to do it...She makes it easy to be a proud father...
-
This weekend is The little Beeze's birthday...He'll be 5...The only thing he's asked for is Spike the Dinosaur...Spike costs about $130...So I'm probably gonna sell off an organ or some blood this week...I mean with all the material he gives me for this blog, I kinda owe him...Which by the way, I got a e-mail this week from his teacher...She asked if we knew of a reason why he would be grabbing his junk so much...She has asked if he needed to go to the bathroom...He would say no...But would keep grabbing it...She thought maybe it could be a nervous habit...I'm not quite sure how to tell her that 1) He's a Beeze...And 2) He's discovered he gets boners, and is completed enamored by it...
-
And lastly...Wednesday I turn the big 34...This has my older wife bothered...She asked me what I wanted for my birthday..."Besides a Blumpy"...I said..."I want ATM!"

-
Have a great week...

Fighting Irish Fall to Michigan (38-34)

I believe that picture says it all...Nothing makes me quite as sick as losing to Michigan...It's not just a Notre Dame thing...Or an Ohio thing...I believe the disdain I have for The University of Michigan is something I was born with...Today's loss makes me hate them more...But I have to give them some credit...

Freshman Quarterback, Tate Forcier played his a$$ off...And he showed great poise and awareness out on the field...His receivers did a nice job for him as well...

Now I must point some fingers at the Irish sidelines...There was some play calling that really sucked...My biggest problem...Late in the game, with the lead...It's time to eat the clock...So Charlie decides to throw another deep ball to Golden Tate, who was having some troubles today, catching the ball (2 passes that would have been Touchdowns)...WHY? There was no reason...The Irish were running the ball well all day...This call ended giving Michigan plenty of time and 2 timeouts for their game winning drive...

Next, Notre Dame didn't use tight end Kyle Rudolph enough...Michigan's defense didn't anyone who could have matched up well against him...Then there was the trouble of getting the plays called in a timely fashion...Timeouts burned because of that, and penalties...Oh the penalties...They always seem to bite you in the a$$...Although the unsportsmanlike call on Allen was BS...He isn't the first guy to run into the end zone and hold a finger over his mouth the shss the crowd...Weak call...Since we're talking about the refs...They sure missed a number of interference calls on Michigan...3 times a Michigan defender had Tate's arm locked up, or an arm around him...Way to suck zebras...And b the way...What the Hell happened to those 2 seconds that fell off the clock at the end of the game?

But I honestly hate to blame refs...The Irish defense, got beat...Flat out...More then once...The offense played well...With the exception of the penalties and dropped touchdown passes...The third quarter was sloppy...And again, I blame much of that on the coaching/play calling....

Some stats from today...Clausen 25 -42 with a 336 yards...3 touchdowns...Allen rushed for 139 yards, and a touchdown, on 21 carries...Michael Floyd had 7 receptions for 131 yards and 1 touchdown, before leaving the game with a leg injury...Golden Tate had 115 yards and 2 touchdowns with 9 receptions...

The Irish had 9 penalties for 75 yards...490 total yards...336 passing and 154 on the ground...They were 6-14 on 3rd down...1-1 on fourth...Time of Possession was 31:25...And like I said...the defense got beat more then once...Giving up 190 yards on the ground, and 240 through the air...Forcier had 70 of those rushing yards...

When the game ended, my first feeling was...'Fire Weis Now!' I'm passionate about this stuff...Maybe too much so...But the play calls late in the game made me crazy...The Irish offense wasn't having to much trouble doing what they wanted to do...Kill the clock!

In my opinion, the Irish have to win every game left on the schedule for Weis to keep his job...If that's gonna happen, the defense better get working a little harder, because a freshman QB from Michigan just owned you...Highlighted by 31 yard run on a fourth and 3...Where he faked Darius Fleming out of not only his shoes, but everything including his jock.

Back to work gentleman...Next up is Michigan State coming off a loss to Central Michigan...

Later, The Beeze.

Fighting Irish Dominate Nevada (35-0)

This morning I heard Mark May say this..."Nevada will run all over Notre Dame in the opening game upset." Now let me be clear...I've never liked Mark May, and that made me dislike him even more...But as I watched the Fighting Irish do nearly anything and everything to the Nevada Wolfpack, that they wanted to...I thought of stupid Mark May and the stupid words that came out of his mouth...And I smiled...
-
That said, I did think that Nevada was going to give the Irish a tougher game...But I'm glad they didn't...
-
The Irish moved the ball well in their first series, including Weis going for a fourth and short, which he has done consistently through his career...But this time he didn't have to pass for it...This year's Fighting Irish can run the ball...There was an explosiveness from the offensive line we haven't seen in the last few years...The opening drive ended with a 19 yard touchdown pass from Clausen to tight end Kyle Rudolph...The fact that Rudolph was covered well didn't matter...As his 6'6" frame went up over the defender to get the ball...
-
In the second quarter Clausen hit WR Michael Floyd twice for touchdowns...The first was a 24 yard reception...The next one was a quick strike followed by 70 yards to the end zone as Golden Tate threw a good block that helped spring Floyd...
-

The Irish scored again in the second quarter on a 1 yard run by Armando Allen...Set up by a 19 yard run by Jonas Gray...

Clausen had started out completing 10 of his first 11 passes, for 184 yards, and 3 touchdowns...He would add to the numbers in the third by connecting with Floyd again on an 88 yard touchdown reception...

Clausn would finish 15 for 18 with 314 yards, and 4 touchdowns...Floyd had 4 receptions for 189 yards and 3 touchdowns...Golden Tate had 3 receptions for 59 yards...Allen rushed for 72 yards and 1 touchdown, on 15 carries...Gray had 50 yards on 9 carries...

The defense clearly had a great game, keeping the Wolfpack off the scoreboard...Kyle McCarthy and Robert Blanton both had interceptions and the defense also recovered a fumble on a dropped option pitch...

Final game stats for the Irish...1st downs: 20...Total Yards: 510...Passing: 332...Rushing: 178... 3rd down conversions: 6-12...4th down conversions: 1-2...0 turnovers...Time of Possession: 33:40

Great way to start the season...Next up...Michigan.

College Football Season Has Started....

And so has the good sportsmanship...

After running his mouth leading up to the game...LaGarrette Blount didn't like what Boise State's Byron Hout had to say, after the Broncos beat Oregon last night 19-8...So Blount blasted him in the chin...Then he got into it with his teammates...Then some Boise State fans taunted him, and he tried to go after them, and had to be restrained by coaches, players and security...

If losing wasn't bad enough for the Ducks...Now they're going to spend all week fielding questions about their running back who can't control his temper...It may be a long season for the Ducks...

Other scores from last night...Utah beat Utah State 35-17
South Carolina beat NC State 7-3
and North Texas defeated Ball State 20-10

I love college football...I like it more then the NFL even if the BCS system sucks, which it does...Maybe because I'm a Cleveland Browns fan, and I just haven't had much to cheer about...

And on the Browns for just a second...What the hell is Eric Mangina doing? He refuses to name a starting QB...And in last night's preseason game, the two guys competing for the job, Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson, didn't play...Ben Ratliff played...What Mangina...Your third string QB from the Jets last year is gonna be the answer, over a first round pick, or a former pro- bowler...Get your head out of your a$$ and name the starter already...

My opinion it should be Quinn...Who knows what Mangina thinks!

Back to College Football now...Saturday my Fighting Irish open their season with Nevada...I think it will be a good game...But the best thing that could happen for Charlie Weis, is the Irish pounding the hell out of Nevada...A strong start would help the mood of the Irish faithful...

The defense will be lead by their deep and talented secondary, lead by hard hitting safety Kyle McCarthy...

The Offense and the team will be looking for Quarterback Jimmy Clausen to step up this year, be a real leader and live up to the hype that first came with him to South Bend...
-
If the Irish are going to actually wake up the echos...It has to start Saturday...I can't wait...

Later, The Beeze.
