JT Barrett Gets Off Easy

Ohio State QB, JT Barrett plead guilty to Operating a Vehicle under the Influence...The 20 year old Barrett was arrested on October 31st near the Ohio State campus, at a police checkpoint...Reports say his B.A.C. was a 0.099, substantially over the .02 limit for those under 21...

Barrett made a plea deal, plead guilty to the OVI charge, and a backing without safety charge was dismissed...Barrett will serve no time, have his license suspended for 180 days, and with fines and court costs, he will pay approximately $500...

While in court Barrett expressed his remorse to the judge saying, "I just wanted to apologize to my family for this embarrassment and also to the Ohio State football program and also Buckeye Nation.  I never wanted to hurt Ohio State for what it's done for me as a player and also as a person and I'm truly sorry for that."

I'm glad he's apologetic...Way to fucking go...Everyone is apologetic when they get caught...Hopefully he learned from this...But he got off easy...Way too much we here about "class" differences in this country, and how certain "classes" are treated differently....Well folks, here is a prime example...If JT Barrett was a start football player at Ohio State...If he wasn't the better of the two QB's, he wouldn't have gotten a slap on the wrist...

Ask "Average Joe" what he would have gotten...Especially considering the fact of being under the legal drinking age...A non-Ohio State football star would have lost their license for 2 years...1 minimum..."Average Joe" would have $2000-$3000 in fines...And "Average Joe" would need a good attorney to keep his ass out of jail, and get him off with 100 hours of community service, and 10 MADD meetings...

So there's the life lesson kids...Learn to throw a football...Run fast...Or be a big-time actor...Then you'll be in the class that can screw up often, and get at least 5 "second chances!"
