COVID, The Walking Dead and Us

 

I hate the TV show, The Walking Dead. I think it's stupid, stupid and annoying, simple minded and crap! My wife and oldest daughter are big fans and put up with me mocking it. I don't know the full deal of the show. while they're watching it, I find something else to do, even if it's just sitting their and shitting on people on Twitter. But I have caught enough in the background and having watched some, that I feel strong about my opinion. But I also see that this show gave us a warning, that we are clearly ignoring.

The zombies were caused by something. These fucking zombies represent something like a Pandemic. But what has been the number one enemy to all of the characters in this show? It was not the pandemic/zombies. It's their fellow humans...and to be technical, their fellow Americans. Throughout the show Americans are killing Americans, stealing from Americans, double crossing, trapping, raping, murdering fellow Americans, instead of uniting and working together to not only wipe the Zombies, but figure out what caused this and try to fix it. 

If you look at how Americans have behaved during COVID, you can see many are willing to go down that path. It started with people denying COVID was real, fueled even more by political leaders on the right who called it a "liberal hoax" as tool to "control us." We had a President, Trump who was on tape saying he knew how bad and deadly it was, but admitted he wanted and did downplay it. Even after the tapes came out he continued to downplay COVID and rally up his cult that it wasn't that bad and liberals just used it to attack him.

How bad wasn't/isn't it? 525,000 Americans dead and counting, that's how bad. And who has been the biggest enemy during COVID? Our fellow Americans. Starting from Trump, to members of Congress, to governors, state legislatures, mayors, to every day regular people who scream and cry about wearing masks. Who call wearing masks an infringement of their rights. 

 So many of these same people are willing to strip other Americans of abortion rights, voting rights and civil rights, but wearing a mask for the health and safety of all is just a bridge too far for them. There are Republican members of congress screaming for the need for schools to be open, but every singles Republican member of the House and the Senate voted against a COVID Relief bill that will give money to schools to help them better prepare to reopen safely...That will help push vaccinations out faster, including getting teachers and school staff vaccinated. These same people are screaming for small businesses to be able to reopen, but again, that bill they voted against included money to help small businesses keep their heads above water.

Americans claim to be tough and can beat anything. They love The Walking Dead, because it shows their definition of tough. Shooting, stabbing, fighting, killing, not realizing far too often they are fighting and killing each other instead of the pandemic. With our real life pandemic, the only toughness needed is patience, caring, respect for our fellow humans, wearing a mask and a bit of social distancing.

But every day there's another video of a selfish cunt that thinks they're being a tough American, screaming how they won't wear a mask. You're not tough! You're the weakest form of life.

This week, a number of states (with Republican Governors) started lifting mask mandates, and opening places to allow full capacity. We are a few months away from having a large portion of the population vaccinated and these dolts can't have just a bit of patience. President Biden called them out, saying they were using "Neanderthal thinking." Of course a bunch of Republicans have tried to turn this into their latest battle cry. They're now pro-Neanderthal. There's nothing like a sitting Senator, (Marsha Blackburn) singing the praises of the Neanderthals. I guess her and her fellow idiots missed that day in junior high when the teacher discussed that the Neanderthals went extinct 40,000 years ago!

I don't know how The stupid Walking Dead is going to end, but I do know if we keep electing ignorant, lying Republicans, we're going to go the way of the Neanderthals.

Cyber Monday Moaning

Yep, I'm trying to capitalize on this "Cyber Monday" crap...Get a few extra page-views ain't that right Rosie!?!  Hell, I'm sure Rosie and I grabbed a few extra views by titling Friday's post BLACK_FRIDAY!

These St. Louis Rams...I couldn't tell you who they are based on their numbers...I don't care who they are, because I know what they are...FUCKING IDIOTS!  But so we have it on record...These fucking idiots are named Stedman Bailey, Tavon Austin, Jared Cook, Chris Givens, and Kenny Britt...Could you five fucking idiots, and the countless celebritards, and insane number of dolts out there, please read the transcripts from the 70 hours of grand jury testimony and eveidence...Mike Brown did NOT have his hands up...His buddy admitted it...Admitted he originally lied...So please put this "hands up, don't shoot" bullshit to bed already...

I had said at the start of the season I was done with the NFL, and I am...This is the most I've written on the NFL all year...Hell its' the most I've thought about the NFL...But I have to wonder will they respond...It has already been made clear by some police officials throughout the St. Luis area, that they are not pleased by this stunt...Some view it as a sign of support to those asshole rioters...I agree, and I view it a sign of stupidity and douche-baggery!  Will the league or the Rams apologize? Will they fine these dolts?  I think they'll make the Rams make a lame apology, but won't do shit to the players because the twats in the media will scream racism!  Really getting sick of that!

I read an article Sunday night on The Washington Post, that said "In America, Black Children Don't Get to be Children"...
That's a bold statement...A bold, blanket statement...I don't statements like that...I could respond with a blanket statement about how so many black kids don't even know their father, and that could be causing their childhood to suck ass...But that's a bullshit way to go, playing on the stereotypes...There are single parent homes in every damn race...

The article continued, "America does not extend the fundamental elements of childhood to black boys and girls. Black childhood is considered innately inferior, dangerous and indistinguishable from black adulthood. Black children are not afforded the same presumption of innocence as white children, especially in life-or-death situations."

I think that's bullshit as well...I responded to the article with this..."You're right, before you even say it, you're right, I don't know what it's like to be black...But screw you, you don't know what it's like to be white...You just assume you do...You assume its a damn cake walk...Everyone has crap in their lives...Everyone deals with different crap...I'm tired of all the pissing and moaning...I presume all kids are innocent until they prove me wrong...By pulling a gun...By blowing the football team behind the bleachers...Whatever it may be...No matter what color they are...But a black kid who had recently robbed a store, then got physical with a cop, then he got dead...So the world is out to get all black kids...No, it's not...And please will people read the transcripts from the Grand jury...The idiot didn't have his hands up!"

I know these are hot-button issues, and people aren't going to agree with everything I have to say, but all my life, I've heard people always saying we have to be able to talk openly and honestly about problems, including race...But when you do, mother fuckers run and hide...Fuck that...I'm not...I'm right here...Lets talk....Let's make this shithole world a better fucking shithole!

I'm gonna get a summit together...And I'm asking Richard Sherman to come...That guy can talk honestly....Although I'm not sure the NFL is very happy how he just put them in their place...






What, I mentioned the NFL twice today....Well that's should hold me over for awhile!

I don't watch this show, because I'm a grown up and would rather play a video game or watch Family Guy...But my wife is obsessed and then got our oldest hooked...And Sunday night my daughter was a wreck because they    (SPOILER ALERT)       killed off some bitch named Beth...Fuck off, Walking Dead...I don't need that added bullshit in my life...And holy shit, by the way my oldest turn 13 this week...Where the fuck did the time go!?!

Monday Moaning

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter weekend...And I hope your Easter Bunny was as giving as this one!

My week was crazy...We'll start on Thursday...I took Little Beeze and his older sister to Holy Thursday Mass...It was required for part of their RCIA class...A number of the kids from school were going to lead the procession into mass with candles...Before they even stepped off, a little girls hair caught fire...No, the boy wasn't involved...Her mother screamed and got it out quickly, but her pony tail was gone...Then the mother, trying to fight it as hard as she could, let out a 15-20 second battle with saying "Mother Fffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuu----cccccccccckkkkk" in the back of the church....The dashes are where her voice dropped out, and we all thought she caught herself...

Then, during the homily, an old lady passed out...Some one called 9-1-1...And she woke up loudly, puking all over herself...The EMT's rolled in, and not so stealthy took her out...All this has me fearing what was going to happen at the Easter Vigil Saturday night, where Little Beeze was being baptized/confirmed, and he and his sister were making their first communion...

And the fear ran high as Saturday's mass started at 9:00PM, outside with a bonfire, candle lighting, and walking into a dark church...Sounds safe right!?! Everything went okay...Long...2 and a half hours, but okay...We got home, to find Molls wide awake...It wasn't until after 12:30AM when they were all asleep...Then I had to put on my fucking bunny ears and hide Easter baskets and eggs...

Sunday, my house was full of over-tired, sugared-up kids, all in need of a nap...And my wife and I running on coffee and wanting naps...It was a lazy day, especially after the ham, mashed potatoes, corn, lamb chops, and asparagus...

But there was some time for dancing...




But it wasn't all church, food, and dancing this weekend...

-There was some intense NCAA Hockey...There were plenty of upsets that took place...In the East, Union upset Boston College before falling to #1 seed Quinnipiac...In the Northeast, #1 seed Umass- Lowell had to battle Wisconsin, and New Hampshire to get to the "Frozen Four"....In the Midwest, #4 St. Cloud State gave #1 seed Notre Dame a 5-1 beating...This was a shocker since the Irish had been one of the hottest teams going into the tourney...Then St. Cloud beat #2 seed Miami (Ohio) to advance...And in the West #4 seed Yale upset #1 Minnesota and #2 North Dakota to earn a trip to the "Frozen Four"...

Quinnipiac, St. Cloud State, Umass-Lowell, and Yale will head to Pittsburgh to play the "Frozen Four" April 11-13...I'm annoyed by the break they take, but they know they'll get no coverage at all with the basketball tourney going on...

-As for basketball, my bracket was pretty much screwed...But Marquette losing killed me totally...Hows yours?

-Sunday night, Major League Baseball kicked off it's season with the Astros and Rangers...Most of the rest the teams get going Monday...I'm slightly excited for the season, if only because it gives us hope that Spring is here...Even though my local Weather guy gave us a heads-up for more cold and possible snow this week...Of Course!  Probably get a blizzard for the Tribe's home opener next week!

I have to say, there is something about Baseball that is bothering me...I never liked the inter-league stuff to begin with, but now with this inter-league game every day crap...It just doesn't make sense when you have two leagues that have different rules...It's time to take a stand...Either DH for everyone, or no DH at all...Bud, you stupid old coot, it's time to make the call already!

-Sunday, a friend of mine posted this LINK on my facebook page...If you were ever concerned about the charities athletes setup, and where the money really goes, you were right to be concerned...Only 8% of the funds in one of Baron Davis' foundations went to charity...Lamar Odom doesn't know what his Charity does...You call Randy Moss' charity, and it's a private residence in Manitoba...There is $300,000 unaccounted for from an Alex Rodriguez charity fundraiser...Give it a read...It could save some people from wasting their money!

-My wife has been a fan of "The Walking Dead"...I saw a few bits and pieces, but never really cared...This week, she got me to watch a bunch of episodes...Which lead up to me watching the season finale...You know what this show did...It fucking annoyed me! Some how, magically, when people die they turn into a Zombie...No explanation...It just is...Fucking childish writing there!   Didn't this shit go down in 2010 supposedly...Why the fuck are they driving a 2013 car!  Shitty advertising ploy there!  I found myself wanting a lot of these people dead...

But seriously, America...Between the ads for video games and movies and other TV shows I was seeing while watching a bunch of episodes of "The Walking Dead" I have to ask...When the fuck are you going to grow up?  Enough of this Zombie and Vampire shit...Seriously  Yes, "Reality TV" makes me sick...But beating these two stupid trends to death has just become lazy!  This Zombie, and Vampire shit can eat my ass!
