Talking in Circles

Jim Tressel opened his press conference/public apology, by pointing out that he had notes in his hand and that, "The sports guys can tell you I often talk in circles"...The notes were to help him not do that, and to be clear and concise...Then Tressel preceded to talk in circles...

For those who may have missed it, Monday night Yahoo broke a story about Tressel having known of his 5 players wrong doings back in April of 2010...Those being the five dopes who sold off awards, and rings and jerseys for tatoos and cash, and who were still allowed to play in the Sugar Bowl, but are suspended for the first few games of next season...I say few, because I expect to see there suspensions reduced from five...

Well, it turns out the story is true...Tressel knew and didn't inform the University or the NCAA...After talking in circles for a few minutes, he got to the point that he had received emails about a federal drug investigation that involved some of his players...And then he pointed out that confidentiality was asked for...Now we all no that doesn't matter to the NCAA...Repeatedly he went back to the confidentiality, just to make sure we all knew he really didn't mean to screw the pooch, while talking in circles some more...He talked about using the info as a teaching tool for his players...I guess the didn't get the message since five of them also screwed the pooch...

Then he talked about how he has learned from this, and how he now knows how to better handle a situation like this, if it was to ever happen again...I have to ask, how did he not know before this? the man has been coaching in the college ranks since a before I was born...(He started in 1974) Him not knowing what to do is bullshit! Personally I think he was trying to keep it quiet, and protect his players, and probably telling them to knock the stupid shit off...

As it turns out, the players are clear of the drug investigation, but that just lead to the investigation of them selling their shit...

Tressel was fined $250,000 dollars, had to make a public admission guilt and apology, that was tonight's little song and dance, and suspended for two games...Those games will both be home games against Akron and Toledo...How harsh! WTF!

They went easy on him...Why, because he has built a great image of himself...Mr. Clean, by the book...Mr. can't lose to Michigan if he tried...He just looks so damn nice and honest with his silly little sweater vests...I shit you not, this squirrely little bastard could run for governor in this state and he'd win in a landslide...And that's kinda how I see him...As a politician...FULL OF SHIT!

Later, The Beeze.
