The Atlanta Falcons have released second year LB Prince Shembo after he was charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals...Shembo a former player at Notre Dame, had admitted to his now ex-girlfriend that he had kicked/killed her dog after she had left the Yorkie with him...The dogs injuries were as follows...
"The dog had a fractured rib, fractured liver, abdominal hemorrhage, thoracic hemorrhage, extensive bruising and hemorrhage in the muscles in her front leg and shoulders, head trauma, hemorrhage and edema in lungs, hemorrhage between the esophagus and trachea, and hemorrhage in the left eye with internal injuries," police said.
What a fucking asshole!
Now I'm a diehard, loyal Notre Dame fan, but I have no problem calling bullshit on them when needed...And clearly Notre Dame had the warning signs that this guy was a fucking psycho...While at Notre Dame Shembo was accused of Sexually Assaulting female 19 year old St. Mary's College student Lizzy Seeberg...
The Police filed no charges and there was no real investigation...Shembo wasn't even interviewed...Seeberg was told to by friends of Shembo to not "mess with the football program"...The University, instead of investigating the assault charges, started a smear campaign against Seeberg...Within 10 days of her assault, she killed herself...
Then the University felt some pressure to look into it, but it was far too little, and way too late...Shembo's name was kept quiet throughout the whole thing...Seeberg's father said that "the university and police more aggressively investigated the 2012 case of linebacker Manti Te'o's fictitious girlfriend than that of his dead daughter."
It wasn't until he admitted that he was player in question during the NFL combine that it became public knowledge...So the Falcons also knew he was a possible piece of shit too, and still drafted him...Such is the NFL...
I hope ND has changed how they handle things like this, but the big business of football often clouds judgment...I'm very disappointed.
Sexual Assault...Killing a dog...What's next for this psycho Shembo!?!
