What We Did Forget

 

"Never Forget" has long been a battle cry in the United States and after September 11, 2001 it became cemented in our minds. After the 9/11 attacks Americans and even our politicians set differences aside. We all came together in support of first responders, New Yorkers, the people lost at The Pentagon, the families of those lost on Flight 93. We ( us non-New Yorkers) didn't hate the Yankees that year. Most of the country could cheer for the New England Patriots in a Super Bowl. The U.S. flag was flying everywhere you turned. We cared a little more about our neighbors. 

We were willing to let the government take away a little bit of our freedom in the name of fighting terrorism. We sent care packages to troops who were sent off to fight "the war on terror." We gave donations for any fundraiser in the name of first responders. Through the horrible events of 9/11, as the dust cleared we learned of amazing stories of bravery, sacrifice, compassion. Strangers helping strangers. Strangers rallying together on hijacked plane, to not let what happened three times already, happen a fourth time. Evil arrived and it brought out the best in us.

But it didn't last. Yes, every year on 9/11 we post pics and write "Never Forget," but our every day actions show the rest of the year show differently. 

As time went on we all drifted back to a regular day to day. We and our politicians dug back into our political trenches. First in ways like withholding military funding and money for the First Responders Survivors Fund, as a way of grandstanding and playing politics with people's lives. Then, as we were struck with another test of our resiliency and humanity, a large portion of our country, who have pumped full of lies from Trump, Republican politicians, Fox News, Alex Jones and and other right wing media outlets, refused to come together to fight off COVID. They were willing to give up freedoms with "The Patriot Act" but wearing a mask is a bridge too far. They want Trump's name on the COVID Vaccine, but they refuse to get the vaccine.

"Never forget! Never forget! NEVER FORGET!"

Yet 650,000 Americans have died in the last couple years since COVID hit, with more every day and most people forgot them seconds after they passed. The number of COVID deaths is equal to 9/11 happening 217 times. Why is it so easy to forget the lives lost from COVID?

Americans yelled "Never Forget" after the Sandy Hook school shooting, but nothing legitimate was done by our leaders to prevent it from happening again. School shootings and mass shooting continue and many forgot all about the young children from Sandy Hook who would have been starting high school this year.

Americans seem to have no problem forgetting. Forgetting loss, forgetting facts, forgetting science, forgetting history. What we forgot most was our decency, compassion, humanity, our togetherness.

So when you post your yearly "Never Forget" bullshit, think about how much you really have forgotten.

Nothing gets Americans pupped up and full of pride and we can beat anything like a good ole show of military might...OK, so the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds aren't used in battle but Navy and Airforce jets flying over U.S. cities gets people charged up...

The thing is...While these flyovers may have turned up the National Pride...It also turned up the stupidity....

'Let's go see the jets flyover...They aren't really doing anything but flying, but lets go and crowd together with strangers and look up in the air...

Seriously, you people in New York and New Jersey, you see and hear aircraft all the time...I'm not trying to be an asshole and shit all over this act of patriotism and chest thumping...But being an asshole comes naturally....Also, these flyovers, cost $60,000 per hour...I think frontline workers would have appreciated that money being spent on equipment and testing instead chest planes flying above.

Especially when you fucking people are out there practically humping each other while looking at planes!...Way to go! Keep spreading the fucking COVID...But as long as your balls are full of patriotism so you can get your red, white and blue boner!

Monday Moaning

Okay, so here's the deal...This week's post may not have much to do with the sports...Instead, I'm going to take a swing at the weather, and the media...But first, let me get after you West Coasters first...Yeah, you fuck-nuts that go to a 49ers pre-season game packing heat...Shut your fucking mouths!

Last week some dopes from California were trashing the East Coast, because of their reaction to a 5.9 earthquake...We get it cum-dumpsters, you can take a little shaking...But those East Coast people aren't use to it, so relax...You know what...I hope Mother Nature gives California a nice Christmas present...I hope this year she hits your asses with a Syracuse style Winter...You know, 15 degrees, before you factor in the wind chill...And about 30 inches of snow dumped on you in a day! Fucking arrogant assholes, then you'd be begging for a quake!

Now, East Coasters...Yes, you got blasted by a Hurricane...Boy the hyped the shit out of Irene, and by the time she hit land she was only a category 1, but it was too late...The media monsters invested too much into her, so they had to keep pushing the non-stop coverage...Love the report, showing some shingles blowing off of a waterfront motel...NOT SHOCKING!

Then there was the first death...It's very sad about the loss of life because of Irene...Except the first fatality...Of course it was an idiot, fucking surfer! Listen, you go riding waves in a Hurricane, you better expect to die fuck-tard!

But the big thing was the non-stop hype about Irene heading for New York City...Pick any news outlet, they all act like NYC is the center of the universe...I get that it's theirs, but it ain't mine...The center of my universe is between my wife's legs!

As the forecasts kept coming in, you could see it wasn't going to crush New York City, but that wasn't stopping the machine...A late night/early morning headline read: "New York City Prepares for Irene's Worst" ....Hey you fucking dummies, New York isn't getting Irene's worst...Bitch left her worst south...Ask The Outer Banks and Virginia about Irene's worst you fucking children!

And then Irene blew by NYC...Roughing up Queens and Coney Island a bit...But no epic scene like some shit from "The Day After Tomorrow"...You arrogant Nancie's got some wind and rain, and acted like it was the end of days...Christ, Albany got hit harder with the storm then you did! And then the storm was onto New England, and slowly, one by one, the media outlets started dropping their storm coverage, and went back to their traditional, meaningless and often shitty programming...And all I really wanted to see was Al Roker get washed away!

Moving on to other meaningless bullshit...The MTV Video Music Awards was Sunday night...I didn't watch, so I have no details...But I have to ask...Why do the still have VMA's when they don't even show videos anymore!?!

So now, just a quick bit of sports...High School Football season has started, and now the Football has kicked in...Except for my local high school team, which got throttled 64-14 in their opener Friday night...OUCH!

Then there was the BIG Jim Thome Homecoming weekend...I wrote about Thome coming back, last week...For some reason MY_VIEW isn't popular in this town...In a city where the economy has kicked people in the ass, all the sudden these dopes have plenty of money to buy brand new Thome gear...Unreal...

Oh, and it was so sweet that some PR douche told all the players to wear high socks for Friday's big return of Thome...Great job going 0-4 Jim...Then Saturday, they all went nuts, because he hit a Home run...Completely over-shadowing Asdrubal Cabrera's 3 run, game winning, home run...Who cares that Cabrera won us another game, Thome got a dinger! Fuck you...Fuck you twice, because they gave him Sunday off...Oh, the poor, DH can't play three games in a row...It's so hard riding the pine, waiting to do one of two things...HR or Strikeout!

Fuck Cleveland....Relax...Have some self respect...The guy exactly the same thing that LeBron James did (minus the big tv show) and none of you gave a shit...You just swung from his nuts! C-town, stop rooting for the players, and start rooting for the teams...

I'm Not Afraid of Muslims

Yes, I went there...

You see, I have had enough...This politically correct bullshit has got to stop...This week I have reached my breaking point...The news that a Muslim Community Center near Ground Zero is in the works has pushed me far enough...Now I'm pushing back, unlike the Manhattan community board that backed the proposal...Don't believe it? Yes, I believe in the freedom to worship, and I believe in religious tolerance...But it's hard to be tolerant of people who are intolerant...Yes, I know, NOT ALL MUSLIMS ARE BAD PEOPLE WHO CRASH PLANES INTO BUILDINGS, AND WALK INTO CROWDED AREAS WITH A BOMB STRAPPED TO THEIR CHEST! The thing is, I never see a good Muslims getting on the news and calling out these bad Muslims for f*cking things up for the rest of them...WHY? Really, I'm asking you dopes, WHY DON'T YOU CALL THEM OUT? You'll call me out for this post, but you won't go after the dolt blowing people up, because he's an intolerant ass...Are you scared, like so many Americans, and people around the world?

A cartoonist pokes fun at Islam, and has to fear for his life...South Park rips on the Muslim religion, as they do to all religions, and they get death threats...Funny how it seems nobody has a problem laughing at Father John Kid Toucher jokes, but don't mention Muhammad...

Muslim extremists hijack planes and crash them into The World Trade Center...Day in and day out all we see and hear about the Muslim faith is hate...Yet we are suppose to be tolerant...We are suppose to let a Muslim Community Center be build right next to the place that has become the crowning achievement for nut-job, asshole,Muslim Extremists...I don't think so pal...

This is a slap in the face to all the families who lost loved ones on September 11th...Bin Laden heard about this, and now he is pointing and laughing...If this happens, guess what? The terrorists won!

The people who keep saying not all people of the Muslim faith are bad, need to get these good Muslims in front of cameras and microphones...They need to finally admonish Muslim extremists...People of New York need to stand up and say NO! You won't build this here! We won't be threatened anymore! We won't be politically correct! We're done appeasing everyone!

Where Are You Now Reverend Al

Yes, I'm talking about Reverend Al Sharpton...The man well know for being a "leader" of the African American Community, and getting in front of cameras and microphones and pointing his finger at everyone that he feels has treated the Black Community unfairly...In theory this sounds good...

I think back to when Don Imus made a stupid joke and called the Rutgers Women's Basketball team, "Nappy Headed Hoes." Reverend Al was all up his ass, and did everything in his power to get Imus fired...Sharpton is always willing to call out wrong doers...Well, not always!

This past Easter Sunday in what seems to have become a Easter tradition, Hundreds of gang members, (at least that what they have been called in the limited press coverage) mostly minorities, took to Time Square, threatening people, being "rowdy" and how can I forget, the shooting...4 people were shot and at least 33 were arrested after the evening's events, which the Mayor referred to as "Wilding."

It took a couple of days before I caught wind of this...But as long as we shoe another Tiger Woods press conference, right?

So I have a couple questions...I know there are some people from New York who stop by my little blog...I want to know what you think about this...Is it really a big deal...Or was it just some kids being dolts...Although I think it's hard to play that card when guns are fired...

Also New Yorkers...Are you concerned that that murders are up 22% and shootings are up 19%...I'm sure it doesn't help that the city, just like mine, has continued to make cutbacks in the police department...Real smart move there...A recession is the last time you should be cutting back on you police and fire...

My last question...Where the hell is Reverend Al? Why isn't he being a leader? Not just a African American leader...But a leader for the community...Why isn't he admonishing these people for their actions...Their actions towards random people in Time Square, and their actions towards each other...You see, the four people that were shot by those "wilding" were also four people who were also "wilding."

If it was Johnny Cracker and his Redneck buddies acting like assholes towards random people...Threatening them...Roughing them up...Shooting guns...Oh, you damn sure know Reverend Al Sharpton would be raising holy hell...Well It's time for "Leaders" to stop being hypocrites...If you call out one asshole...Call out all assholes!

I'm sure some one will say I'm a racist for this post...I'm not...I'm speaking honestly, and want others to do the same...I'm looking for other people's thoughts and opinions on this...I'm also bothered that this, like so many other important news stories gets passed by quickly, so we can see the real important stuff...Like who Tiger and Jesse James had a threesome with...

What the Hell is Wrong with New York City?

This may upset some people, but when has that ever stopped me...There has been something that has bothered me for awhile...But this week, I guess it's boiling over...This week we got to see the USS New York...It's a battleship partly built with steel from The World Trade Center... http://www.ussnewyork.com/

I'm not mad about this...I think it's really cool...Way to show our American ingenuity...I'm pissed because, at Ground Zero...Well, there's still a giant hole in the ground...It's taken too long to figure out what's going to be built...It seems the typical, political bullsh!t has the city dragging it's feet...

Yet somehow, this year both the New York Yankees and the New York Mets opened new baseball stadiums in New York...I see...'The Yankees need land on the cheap for a new stadium...Do whatever it takes! Get George his new Stadium...No holdups!' ...'What? The Mets want to build a new Stadium too? Oh, Alright...Make sure it gets taken care of!'

I remember after September 11th all the talk about going on with our lives...Don't stop traveling...Don't stop spending...Keep doing what we do...Don't let them win...So new stadiums may fall in that category of keep on keepin' on...But when I see that hole in the ground, and the fact that there doesn't seem to be a real plan of what to do there...I kinda think, well maybe they won a little...Oh, that and we still haven't caught the c**k sucker responsible for the attacks...

Am I wrong? Maybe...Maybe not...Does it bother anyone else that the powers that be have been dragging their feet on what to do at ground zero?

Personally, I think the best thing that could have been done at ground zero...They should have built the tallest building in the world...Shaped like a c*ck!
