COVID 19 (blog 5)

"America, Fuck Yeah!"

Nothing gets Americans pupped up and full of pride and we can beat anything like a good ole show of military might...OK, so the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds aren't used in battle but Navy and Airforce jets flying over U.S. cities gets people charged up...

Aviator covered eyes,
Full balls,
Can't lose!

(I'm copyrighting that shit and putting it on shirts!)

The thing is...While these flyovers may have turned up the National Pride...It also turned up the stupidity....

Nice "social distancing" assholes!

'Let's go see the jets flyover...They aren't really doing anything but flying, but lets go and crowd together with strangers and look up in the air...

Seriously, you people in New York and New Jersey, you see and hear aircraft all the time...I'm not trying to be an asshole and shit all over this act of patriotism and chest thumping...But being an asshole comes naturally....Also, these flyovers, cost $60,000 per hour...I think frontline workers would have appreciated that money being spent on equipment and testing instead chest planes flying above.

Especially when you fucking people are out there practically humping each other while looking at planes!...Way to go! Keep spreading the fucking COVID...But as long as your balls are full of patriotism so you can get your red, white and blue boner!

"America, Fuck Yeah!"
'COVID gonna kill more
Than the Vietnamese did!'

Have a day.

The Beeze's College Football Pick'em (week 10)

Last week I didn't post a Pick'em...There were only 2-3 games I liked, and didn't even like them that much...One of the things I learned about gambling from my father was, don't bet just to bet...If you aren't feeling it...Don't do it...So I didn't...But this week, I'm feeling it...So here we go...

- Texas Tech at West Virginia...

This series is tied at two games each, so we don't have much history to work with...What we do have is this is a Big 12 game...Almost all of the Big 12 lacks defense...And we know Tech loves to chuck it, and try to score points...West Virginia is a 8 point favorite...Take the Red Raiders plus the 8 points...

- Duke at North Carolina...

UNC has won 22 of the last 25...But I am still surprised to see Duke as a 7.5 point underdog...Coming off getting royally screwed by the refs in that Miami game, I like Duke...Think about this...If Duke wins out, and then wins the conference championship, the playoff committee kind of has to ignore that Miami loss, since the ACC admitted Duke should have won...Duke is angry...Duke is on a mission...Take Duke plus the 7.5 points...

- Notre Dame at Pittsburgh...

Since 1988 the Irish lead this series 15-5...ND knows they need to win out, and will need help to get into the playoff conversation...And Pittsburgh, isn't that good...Take the Irish minus the 8.5 points...

- Florida State at Clemson...

Florida State has lost 5 of their last 6 at Clemson...This game is huge for both teams...But Clemson needs it...The only way the will get the respect they deserve from the playoff committee is if they are undefeated...The Tigers are a 10.5 point favorite...Normally, against a solid FSU team, I would go with the Seminoles getting that many points...But I'm looking for Clemson to make a statement...A bigger statement then what they made against Notre Dame...I'm taking the risk...I'm taking Clemson minus the 10.5....

-  Arizona State at Washington State...

Washington State is a 3 point favorite...WSU being a favorite is odd...This is strictly giving the home team the bump...ASU is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings...I see the SUn Devils making that 11-1...Take ASU plus the 3 points...

- LSU at Alabama...

Alabama have won the last 4 in this series...But this Alabama team isn't as good as those teams...I think they are overrated...LSU running back Leonard Fournette is out to prove something, and is looking at this game to be the key to his Heisman run...I don't even have to think about this...I'm taking the Tigers plus the 6.5 points...

- Bonus pick...

-Navy at Memphis....

Navy is a 7.5 point underdog...With the way they play, I would like to take those points...But this is Memphis...How powered offense, and a team not getting the respect they deserve...Take Memphis minus the 7.5 points...

Good luck....Beat the bookie!

The Beeze's College Football Wrap Up

And the winner is............

Johnny Manziel from Texas A&M....Kid has a decent Heisman pose, ain't that right Alabama?

Manziel, made history Saturday night, as he was the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy....Now it won't come as a shock that I was rooting for Notre Dame's Manti Te'o...But it wasn't just because he plays at Notre Dame...It's because I'd really love to see defense start getting some credit these days...Te'o lead a defense that only allowed 10 TD's this season...But it's always been clear, no matter what kind of defensive numbers get put up, the Heisman is all about offense...

And that said, Manziel definitely put up some big offensive numbers...43 total TD's...19 rushing, and 24 passing...Rushing for 1,181, and passing for 3,419 yards...And while I wanted to see Te'o buck the system for all defensive players...It was good to see a Freshman buck the system...There had been so much talk against Manziel, just because he's a freshman...If he earns it, who cares...This isn't an award based a players career...It's  for each season...

One thing was clear about each of the three finalists...If it isn't for them, their teams aren't sitting where they are...ND doesn't go undefeated without Te'o...Kansas State doesn't lose just 1 game, and wins the Big-12 without Collin Klein...And Texas A&M doesn't walk into the SEC and finish with a 10-2 record, including going to Alabama and rolling the Tide, without Manziel...All 3 deserved the trip to New York...I really wouldn't have been upset about any of these guys winning...And it was great to see a few guys in New York, that no one was expecting to see there....(Well, except for me picking Klein as my dark horse this pre-season)

Te'o did win the Maxwell Award, the Bednarik Award, and the Walter Camp Foundation Player of the Year Award...

-Saturday we also had the Army/Navy game...Pride, and tradition in all of it's glory...Two teams full of young men, who won't be moving on to the NFL...Instead, they'll be moving on to serve our country...Every year my Dad bets Army, since that's the branch he served in...It's the only bet he'll ever make with his heart...And he was hoping to see Army turn things around...Army was looking to break a streak of 10 loses in a row, and were lead by Senior QB, Trent Steelman....

After 3 quarters Army was ahead 13-10...But young Navy QB, Keenan Reynolds drove his team down field late, and scored the go ahead TD...There was under 5 minutes left...Steelman started his team on a 70 yard drive...With time winding down, at the Navy 14 yard line, a hand-off to fullback Larry Dixon, some how, somewhere, went wrong...Dixon fumbled it...Navy recovered it...11 Navy wins in a row...And Steelman took it hard...He was inconsolable after the game...

Honestly, it was hard to watch how broken up this young man was...Even the announcers seemed uncomfortable...

But it was great to see Army in the game...So many in the past few years have been one sided...

-The Cincinnati Bearcats have a new head coach...Tommy Tuberville has left Texas Tech to become the new man in Cincy...Tuberville leaves the Big-12 to go to the Big East?  Or where ever Cincy ends up, because the Big East is just about dead...This should be good for Cincy, since it's been a jumping off point for a number of coaches...Now they have an established guy, who should stick around awhile...This of course was made possible, when Tennessee hired Cincinnati coach Butch Jones...

-The Mount Union Purple Raiders (14-0) are headed to their 8th straight D-3 Championship game...Looking to win their 11th National Championship, they'll face St. Thomas (Minn) Friday, in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl...Seriously people, this is one of the finest football programs in the country, year in and year out...Support the small divisions that do it right, with a playoff...Watch this game!

That's it...See ya Monday...

Monday Moaning

The World Series match up is set, and FOX can't be happy....Wait is that Steers and Queers, or Queers on Steers?

Okay, Texas and San Francisco, don't get your chaps in a bunch...The Beeze is just having some fun...The World Series starts Wednesday...Most likely I won't be paying much attention, just as I haven't paid much attention to the entire Baseball season...But I'll make a prediction...The Giants in 6 games...

So once again, I avoided watching the Browns...This time not really by choice...The wife wanted us to head to Erie PA, to go to
Mason_Farms

Every year we take the kids there to get pumpkins, and run through the corn maze, and play on the pump up shit, and all that crazy kid shit...Oh, and of course to spend some quality time with the in-laws...I'm still trying to get rid of the headache I got from my father-in-law's non-stop talking...

So then I notice the Browns were beating the Saints...On the drive home I heard the end...The Browns won 30-17...30-17 against the Saints...WOW! An even bigger WOW is, how they did it...DEFENSE! They picked-off Brees 4 times...2 by David Bowens, both returned for Touchdowns...Special Teams also got into the act, with some gadget plays, including a fake punt deep in their own end...Checkout the highlights...

I have to be honest...I'm glad they won, but driving home and listening to Browns fans getting all excited about this, kinda made me sick...Just last week, and well all season, these people were ripping Mangina, and wanting his ass fired...Now him and his coaching staff are awesome...Hey, they did a great job...But Browns, remember how much you hated this guy last week...Last year...And don't get all excited...It's one win...Calm the fuck down and stop calling sports talk radio shows and going crazy about how the Browns are turning around...They're still a few years away from being legit...

NEXT...While I was at work Saturday, before my trek to Erie...The Fighting Irish were losing to NAVY for the third time in four years...No offense to NAVY, but I'm sick of this shit...Listen Notre Dame coaches, past, present, and future...NAVY is not going to surprise you with their offense...They are going to run that option up your ass...Play a 4-4 defense, and contain...If they beat you with the pass, good for them...STOP THE FUCKING RUN!!! In case you were wondering, the Irish gave up 367yards on the ground...I'm so happy I didn't watch it, or DVR it...I'm moving on, because I'm just getting pissed...

In other College Football news, Oklahoma lost Saturday night to Missouri...I guess if you're ranked #1, you don't want to play in prime-time...The latest BCS poll has come out, and somehow, Auburn jumped over Oregon to the #1 spot...Hey, Auburn is good, but how the hell does that happen when Oregon just keeps destroying people...In the AP poll Oregon is #1 with Boise State #2 and Auburn #3...Each week this keeps getting more interesting...Who will be the next big boy to fall?

Hockey season is going strong now, and Saturday night had a classic Original Six match up between the Rangers and Bruins, and the gloves were coming off...

Rangers and Bruins means some quality shit talking between me and my pal Sully...Luckily I came out on top in this first match up, winning 3-2...They followed that up with a 3-1 win over the Devils Sunday...They're starting to heat up!

I was just watching the Packers and Vikings game...The Packers won 28-24, and Favre looked like shit again...After the game, the media was hovering all over Favre...Then in Packers' coach, Mike McCarthy's post game press conference, he noticed there were hardly any reporters in the room...He asked, Where everyone was, stating that they had just won the game...Well, I guess people just care about Brett Favre and his little cock more...And the way the cameras were following Favre, and with how bad he played, and the fact that so many players were coming up to him afterwards, as he took a long walk to the locker room, of course he was limping...I was expecting him to retire right there...Sadly, it didn't happen...Sorry Vikings fans...I guess you get him another week!

That's all for now...Keeping on Moaning!

Have a week...

Later, The Beeze.
