So Why Did We Fight For the Colors?

So I ended My Monday post with this picture, basically asking what is wrong with it...Look close, it's something that has gone on all year long...The Browns were at home, and once again, as they have for every home game this year, the Browns were wearing all white uniforms...

Maybe this seems like a trivial thing, but I remember the day the news broke, that the Browns were being moved to Baltimore...The city was in full-blown, panic/anger mode...When the realization set in that there was no getting OUR Browns back, the city and fans jumped into action...

All the sudden the politicians were all in on building a new stadium...Funny how that worked...When Modell asked, they said stick it...When Modell asked for a renovation of the old stadium, they said stick it...He didn't hold them hostage the way the Jacobs did...Yes, the Jacobs made it clear they would move the Indians if they didn't get a new stadium...Suddenly our smokes and beers were getting an extra tax so the Indians could get a new stadium...It didn't matter that they had sucked for my entire life at that point...Yet the Browns, who everyone loved, who always sold out, who were competitive most the time got screwed by the politicians...So Modell said stick it!

Then the fans and city officials fought the NFL and Modell for the rights to the Browns History, Name, and Colors...So why the fuck aren't they wearing the colors...They are the Cleveland Browns, and with the exception of the numbers and a few stripes, we haven't seen and brown.

Where are the BROWN jerseys!?!

Yes this team has plenty of real problems, but this is a simple one that can be fixed real easy...Strap on the BROWN jerseys at home...Be proud of that history and those colors that people fought for...Hell let's go Brian Sipe style...Brown jersey and orange pants...


Hell yeah...Embrace those awful colors and wear that shit with pride...Brown and Orange!

Monday Moaning

Ain't this a bitch...I realize it's time to get my ass started and then draw a big f**king blank...I have to be honest, most of the time I shoot from the hip...I'm just trying to get the voices out of my head...But I'll normally have a couple ideas...But honestly I didn't watch any sports this weekend...My time was all taken up with other things...

Let's start with Friday...I came home to find My in laws sitting in my living room...

My lovely wife saying "SURPRISE!"

Then came Valentine's Day...A real bitch at the Fish House...Especially when You're rockin' a hangover, and your throat feels like you were eating fire all night...Got through the morning shift there...But now that the in laws were here to ruin my weekend it was time to take the wife out...We snuck in to a Texas Road house for an early dinner...You may say that's not romantic Beeze...Hey she loves the place...And who the hell am I not let a woman shove 12 ounces of meat in her mouth....(she's gonna be pissed about that one)

Then we saw a movie...That stupid Shopaholic one...God did that blow...At least that chick is hot...

Sunday morning started great...My son pouncing on me at 7:30 AM...saying we going to the Dinosaur Museum...DUDE!!! I can't function yet...Get me some coffee!!!

I came home from that with a headache...Then I saw the Rangers got beat by the Flyers 5-2...and from the sound of it, the game wasn't even that close....

The Blueshirts have gotten real inconsistent lately...I like Tom Renney, but I think some of the Rangers faithful are gonna start calling for his head...

Now with all the A-Douche and Roberto Alof*ck sh!t going on I was getting to the point where I may throw in the towel on Baseball...Then I read the latest issue of Sporting News while I was on the shitter...I've been down on that rag for awhile now, but they had some good baseball stuff in there...That combined with the Fantasy Baseball mag the wife gave me for Valentine's Day, I'm getting a little more enthusiastic now...

Now let's get to the important stuff...That's right...Notre Dame Hockey!!!

This week it was announced that Notre Dame University will be building a new, freestanding, on-campus ice arena...Construction will begin in the spring of 2010 on a 5,000-seat arena...The venue will be ready for play in the 2011-12 season...

The new ice arena will be located south of the Joyce Center, and west of where the new Irish track and field facility is being constructed....The University currently is in the process of building new stadiums for both soccer and lacrosse which are scheduled for completion this year...

Now on to this weekend's games...

Friday night the Irish scored 6 power play goals on their way to a 9-5 victory over Northern Michigan....the goal scorers were...Garrett Reagan, Erik Condra (2), Ben Ryan, Justin White (2), Ian Cole (2), and Calle Ridderwall....Jordan Pearce did not have his best game, but made 17 saves in the victory...

Saturday night the Fighting Irish handed the Wildcats 5-2 loss...Again it was the power play doing most of the damaged, as Billy Maday, Calle Ridderwall, Kyle Lawson and Ben Ryan all scored power-play goals...Garrett Regan scored the lone even-strength goal...Pearce again was between the pipes making 17 saves in another victory for the top ranked Irish...

Today...

Today has been a good day so far...I'm battling my sore throat but it's alright...Today has been all about the kids...My son is nuts about 3 things...Trains, Space ships, and Dinosaurs...Today we took the kids to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History...There's tons of stuff to check out, but today, for us it was focused on the dinos...http://cmnh.org/site/Index.aspx

We've never been able to leave without hitting the gift shop...What a rape that place is...Little dude got a giant stuffed rattle snake...Yes it's tail rattles...Princess got a movie..."Night at the Museum"...a crappy movie by the way...They also got a set of 4 animals with paints...Somehow I think some of the paint will end up on a wall...All I'll get is a headache...Surprisingly they didn't fight over who got to paint which animal...

After the gift shop we went to eat...It had to be some place kid friendly....Eating out with a 4 year old can be a bitch...We went Red Robin...A friend of mine was working a double there today, so I figured we would help her pay some bills...

The service was great, and I'm not just saying that because she's a friend...It was better then what I've had at more fine dinning places....The burger was great...I had the Bacon Cheeseburger with pepper jack....The fries as always were awesome...If you don't know Red Robin is know for there fries...And they'll keep bringing you more of them as long as you want...

The kids have had a good day so far...I guess that's what it's all about...Well that and gettin' my f*ck on tonight!!!

You thought you were gonna get through one of my posts without me bringing up sex....HA!!!
