Sunday Morning Picks/ The BEEZE is Hungover

Alright it's that time again...Time to sit down with my Notre Dame hangover, and make my NFL picks. No science, no stats, just a blurry eyed dude giving his gut predictions. My gut wasn't that great last week. So here we go.

San Fran vs Buffalo......Buffalo

Baltimore vs Cincy......Baltimore

New Orleans vs Tampa Bay.....Tampa Bay

NY Giants vs Washington.....Washington

Miami vs St. Louis.....Miami

Indy vs Cleveland......Indy

Carolina vs Green Bay......Green Bay

Atlanta vs San Diego.......Atlanta

Denver vs NY Jets......NY Jets

Pittsburgh vs New England.......Patriots

Kansas City vs Oakland........KC

Chicago vs Minnesota......Chicago

Monday.....Jacksonville vs Houston......Jacksonville (is anyone gonna watch this game)

Okay, there they are...Enjoy the football...Best of luck on your wagers.

Oh, one last thing.....If the BROWNS win today...I'll $h!t myself...Now that would be something great to write about....Not the BROWNS winning....Me $h!tting myself.

That's all I can say about this one. The Fighting Irish look like the "Little Sisters of the Poor". I didn't expect Notre Dame to win. I was just hoping they would be in the game....If for no other reason, then to try and help Charlie save his job.

I honestly think they should give him one more year, but watching's hard to say he deserves it.

The defense did all they could in the first half to try and keep the Irish in it, but once again, the offense couldn't do $h!t.

There's nothing like sitting in your "man cave", with a plate of wings, some beers, and no more kids around, and the Alma Mater is coming on TV....Unless your Alma Mater has become the masters of sh!tt!ng the bed. Okay I'm done talking about that...I'll just get more and more angry.

Let me explain "no more kids around". Today we had my daughter's birthday party. 10 girls, 6 & 7 years old, going crazy, with my 4 year old son trying to get all of their attention. She had a great time and got all kinds of stuff. Including a new addition to my "man cave."

First let me define "man cave". It's a half the basement....One half of the room has a flat screen, my computer, my guitars, a stereo, a fridge, a couch and chair. The other half of the room is an explosion of toys. F**king toys everywhere.

So today, for my daughter's birthday, my Mother gave her a Karaoke machine....Are you f**king kidding me?....WTF!!!

Why am I being punished? 10 little girls jumping and dancing and singing, all over my happy place. I've had enough of the mutha f**kin' "High School Musical" songs.

Oh well. My little girl had a great time and that's what matters. I'm gonna watch the rest of the OU, OSU game, and knock back a couple more beers. I'll be back tomorrow...Hopefully not too angry about the Irish.

Tales from the Fish House

Welcome to the first installment of "Tales from the Fish House". Once a week I will share a story from my many years in the restaurant business, along with one of my own recipes. These tales, for the most part won't be clean. There are some sick people in the food service industry....Myself included. If you don't know what I'm talking about, see the movie "Waiting...." It's hilarious, and yes, some of us are that f**ked up. These events are true...The names of the not so innocent have been changed.

For the first tale, I'm gonna go way back. I was 19 years old. I had jobs in kitchens since I was 13, but now I was in the big leagues...Summer, fine dinning seafood restaurant, run by a group of managers who couldn't stay sober for four hours....And when it came to perverts, these sick f**ks were the kings.

Back then we got our grated parm delivered in cartons, like milk cartons, but bigger. When they were empty, we washed them out and kept chicken scraps in them for when we made stock. We had found a couple with holes in them, and wonder what the hell is that about. Most of the time those got thrown away, but I can't be sure they did all the time.

So one afternoon, my boss Bill(a short, angry, drunk bastard), and I were shootin' the sh!t heading into the walk in cooler. He was going to get some fish to cut, and I needed to restock a few things on the line. We open the door and walk in....and there it is....One of the sickest things I've ever seen....This stoner, prep cook, named Ken, is cramming his ram rod into a carton of chicken scraps. I am not sh!tting you.

My boss's face was the reddest red you have ever seen. I thought his head was going to explode. Ken the prep cook, had that Oh Sh!t look on his face. You know that look....the look that only a stoner who is balls deep in a box of chicken scrap can have.

Bill starts screaming, "get the f*ck out of my restaurant before I f**king kill you! You f**king a$$h*le...What the F88k is wrong with you? Get the f**k out!"

There's nothing like seeing a stoner trying to figure out if he should pull his c**k out of the chicken before he runs, or if he should try and run with the box of chicken on his junk. It was hilarious...gross, but hilarious.

Maybe I'm just twisted....Okay I am. That was when I knew I was in the big leagues. I hope that doesn't ruin your Thanksgiving dinner.

Now, how about a recipe.

This time of year, we always need snacks, here is a salsa I make that my wife and a bunch of her friends like.

2 Mangoes...peeled and diced

2 pints of strawberries diced

1 green pepper diced

half of a red onion diced

1 T of sugar

1 T of chives

1 t of minced garlic

1 T fresh chopped basil

couple dashes of hot sauce (the amount of heat is up to you)

salt & pepper to taste

Size of the dice is up to you...however chunky you like it.

Mix and serve....I like to serve it with Pita chips, but any chip will do.

I hope you enjoyed my tale, and I hope you try the recipe. Don't be afraid to come back next week for seconds.
Thanks for reading, The BEEZE.

This is for CK0712™

I wanted to write something not so angry, and I thought CK. When it comes to talking football this is no Chick better. She has supported my blog right from jump, and even though she's smarter then many of us, she doesn't taunt us. This women's football knowledge is outstanding, and I lucky just to read her posts.

CK, an Eagles fan, also understands the pain and frustration I have as a Browns fan. This Women is sexy, not just in body, but in mind, and soul also. If I wasn't so madly in love with Mrs. BEEZE, I would go to that little chocolate town and sweep her off her feet, and bring her back to the bright lights, and big city of.....Cleveland?

After a blog entry Sunday evening CK was offered the Quarter Back services of a couple of fellows. Now I've been known to THROW A GOOD TIGHT ONE, but I know my option style won't translate in the big time.
So this is what I have to offer. I would like to be CK's Goalie. No other beer league net minder can match my reflexes, agility, and outstanding ability, to get my body in the way of flying rubber.
Cindy, may I call you Cindy? I will stand firmly in your.....crease...I will prevent any and all unwanted ....pucks, from getting between your.....pipes. This is my offer to you.

Thanks for being so cool CK. I hope you got a laugh out of this....Us Browns & Eagles fans need a laugh.

Monday Moaning

WTF!!! Are you kidding me? First the Irish lose to Syracuse (I blew up about that Saturday night, feel free to scroll down) Now the Cleveland Browns have lost to the Houston Texans. Seriously!?! I'm at loss.

Let's start with BIG FAT ROMEO benching Brady Quinn...I know Brady didn't play great, but he's your future, and he should get the reps...You made that clear when you decided to go with him over Derek Anderson half way through the season. Way to stick to your guns Fatty. By the way, the second INT was Edwards fault...that douche gave up on the route. Even the play-by-play dolts saw that. It wasn't the first, or the last route he gave up on during the game. The guy is a cancer. F him!!!

Another by the way, D.A. looked like $h!t...Smart move Chubs. Please Savage, for the love of God Fire that Crennel...And then fire yourself. Yeah I said it. I will never forget Phil Savage coming into Cleveland, and we're all fired up to get Ozzie Newsome's right hand man, and the F**king guy insults us right from jump......Does anyone else remember him saying Cleveland fans need to lose the "Whoa is me attitude."

Hey Phil, F**k You!!! You're part of the problem...Phil Savage is a first class Douche...So is Edwards.....So is Winslow....So is BIG, FAT, FATTY, FAT. You can all GO SCREW!!!!

That felt kinda good.

Speaking of dumb fat guys....Hey Charlie Weis, Pull your head out of your A$$!!!

You consistently have top 5 recruiting classes, yet you lose to SYRACUSE....You struggle with Navy....You lose to North Carolina....You couldn't finish against PITT....You couldn't get on the Scoreboard against BC....And Michigan State owned you.... Get it together, or next year will be your last year.

Now on to The New York Rangers...My boys have lost their last two, Wed. to Vancouver, after My big yap said Luongo was overrated (I'm an a$$), and Sat. to Ottawa. They'll try to get back on track against the Coyotes Monday night. Lets go Rangers!!!

Now on to some good news in the life of the BEEZE. The Fighting Irish Hockey team swept Bowling Green in their weekend home-and-home series.

Friday Night the Irish won 5-1. The Notre Dame goal scorers were....Christian Hanson, with 2, Justin White, Billy Maday, and Christiaan Minella. Senior Goalie Jordan Pearce stopped 27 shots in the victory.

Saturday Night the Irish beat the Falcons 9-1. The goal scorers were.....Christian Hanson, again with 2, Eric Condra, Billy Maday, Ben Ryan, Calle Ridderwall, also with 2, Ryan Guentzel, and Justin White. Jordan Pearce stopped 22 shots for another victory

Have a good week evrybody, and thanks for letting me rant.

Later, The BEEZE.

The BEEZE'S Sunday Morning Picks

Just like last week the picks are coming from my gut...My gut that was ripped out and kicked around like a hacky sack. So here goes.

Philly vs. Baltimore.....Baltimore

Houston vs. Cleveland.....Brady and the Browns, bad finger and all.

Tampa Bay vs. Detroit.....Tampa Bay

Buffalo vs. KC......Buffalo

Chicago vs. St. Louis......Chicago

NY Jets vs. Tennessee......Titans

New England vs. Miami.......Patriots

Minnesota vs. Jacksonville.....Jacksonville

San Fran vs. Dallas......Dallas

Oakland vs. Denver.......Denver

Carolina vs. Atlanta.......Atlanta

NY Giants vs. Arizona......Arizona....what? That's right, Cardinals win.

Washington vs. Seattle......Washington

Indy vs. San Diego......Indy

Monday, Green Bay vs. New Orleans.......Green Bay.

Alright, there's the picks. I didn't do bad last week, so let's see how it goes this week. You heard it here first, TAKE THE CARDINALS!!!

I Don't Know What to Say

I have tried my best to not jump all over Charlie Weis this season. I have said since day one that next year is the year....That the core of this team is young, and growing....But it's hard to stay positive after you just lost to Syracuse....F**king Syracuse....The Orange of Syracuse....WTF!!!

I don't take much seriously, but what I do take seriously...My family, my friends, and my Alma Mater....and that means I take Notre Dame Sports seriously. (mostly football, hockey, and baseball...but with a daughter, now I'm paying more attention to softball, and basketball)

Today's lose has me sick. I waited to calm down before I jumped on the computer. I even checked out a couple other blogs first....But I find myself at a lose for words. Deep down inside, I want to scream, FIRE THAT FAT S.O.B.!!!

But is that really the answer? Should my fellow Irish fans, and I ride it out, and see what Charlie does next year? Looking at the money I would say we have to ride it out longer. The University has a lot of riding fatty, and even though it was hasty to give him the contract extension they did...It would be just as hasty to $h!t can him already.
What do you think? Because I need help with this...after losing to SYRACUSE.

I need a drink.

Okay, I'm back. I did watch something good enjoyable tonight....The Boston Bruins, and Montreal Canadiens played a great game. Lots of physical play, good offensive rushes, good D, and excellent goaltending. The Bruins won 3-2 in a shoot out. Thank God for hockey.

That's it for now, I'm gonna catch the rest of the Red Wings and Flames.

Oh yeah, Texas Tech got F**ked up.

Thursday Night Thoughts

Just something to remember.

So it's Thursday night, and I'm just shooting from the hip here. Nothing real exciting here. Mrs. Beeze is sick, the two little Beeze are asleep, and the football game isn't really keeping my attention. So off we go on a journey of nonsense floating around in my head.
I'm going to give you a link to a funny video, but first let me warn you.....I think it's funny, you may not. If you don't like "DIRTY WORDS" you won't like it. If you don't like Donovan McNabb, or the city of Philadelphia being picked on, you won't like it. The clip is from a comic named Bill Burr. He's from Boston, and was doing an O & A show in Philly. The crowd attacked all the comics, and Burr had enough. 30 seconds into his set, they attacked. He came right back at them, and did 12 minutes of ripping them, and the city. It was great. Seriously, they gave him a standing O afterwards. This is just a very short clip aimed at McNabb.

This next link is of comic Jim Norton on the O & A show bashing Derek Jeter after meeting him, and Jeter was a D-bag to him. I love it, because I hate the Yankees.

I hope everyone got a laugh out of that.

Now let's get in a little Fighting Irish Hockey News.

Today it was announced that five players have signed National Letters-of-Intent to attend The University of Notre Dame. The incoming players are defensemen Sam Calabrese (Park Ridge, Ill.) and Cam Fowler (Farmington Hills, Mich.) , and forwards Nick Larson (Apple Valley, Minn.), Kyle Palmieri (Montvale, N.J.) and Riley Sheahan (St. Catharines, Ont.).

Calabrese, Fowler and Palmieri - play for USA Hockey's National Team Developmental Program. Larson is playing his second season with the Waterloo Black Hawks of the United States Hockey League (USHL). Sheahan is playing for St. Catharines Falcons of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.

The Irish take on Bowling Green in a home-and-home series this weekend. GO IRISH!!!

Next thing I wanted to talk about was a couple things over on the right of the screen. I have links to a few charities that a donate to. They all do good work so feel free to check them out. The one, "Hats for Heroes" did some really great stuff for a friend mine who lost a daughter to cancer. The Columbus Blue Jackets do a great job with it and the players really get involved.

Last thing I've got bouncing around upstairs tonight is this idea....I'm thinking about doing one post a week about my job. For those who don't know, I'm a Chef. I've been working in kitchens since I was 13. I've been working in one place for 12 or 13 years now and I've got some good stories. It's a fine dinning seafood place, so I was thinking of calling the blog, "Tales from the Fish House". Let me know if you'd like to read some of the tales that have helped make the sick, twisted, perverted, a$$ that I am today.

That's it for tonight. I'm going to get another beer find something good on TV to pass out to.

Nice way to Start the Week

Every week should start so good. The Browns pull out another Monday night win...Brady Quinn played well...His numbers would have been a little better if Braylon Edwards wouldn't have dropped four passes...The Defense made some big plays...And of course, therewas Phil Dawson's leg. Nice kick!!!

Now all this happieness has not changed my mind...I still don't like Romeo Crennel. It seems like every time us Browns fans are calling for him to be fired, he pulls out a win on Monday Night Football. But be not afraid...The real Romeo will be back soon enough...Not knowing how much time is on the clock...Playing old man Willie McGinnist too much...Not getting Jerome Harrison the ball enough, because you gotta give it to the vet Jamal Lewis, who doen't hit the hole like he use to.

Look at this...I start out happy about the Browns win, and still find a way to b!tch. Welcome to the fragile mind of a Clevelander.

Some other good news for me...The New York Rangers won Monday night in a shoot out against Ottawa. Henrik Lundqvist was awesome, as usual. It was the Rangers second shoot out win in a row.

In Fighting Irish Hockey news, Junior defenseman Brett Blatchford was named the CCHA Defensive player of the week.

Blatchford had three assists this past weekend as the Irish swept Lake Superior State.

Notre Dame, 7-3-1 overall, and 3-2-1-1 in the CCHA, have a home-and-home series this weekend with Bowling Green.

That's it for now.

Monday Moaning

Time for some Monday Moaning.

The weekend started out good. Friday Mrs. Beeze and I went out for dinner...What was the special occasion you ask...We had a babysitter.

The food was great, she enjoyed her wine, and I enjoyed my beer.

When we got home the kids were asleep, we got rid of the sitter, and got to bumpin' uglies.

Saturday morning had to go to work. As usual that sucked. Caught the last quarter of the Irish vs Navy on TV.(listened to the first 3) I'm getting tired of struggling against Navy.

Saturday night I enjoyed watching the New York Rangers comeback to beat the Boston Bruins in a shoot out.(Don't tell the wife...I kept the little Beeze up for it)

Sunday, was full of getting crap done around the house, playing with the kids, and trying to squeeze in some football.

My fatasy team is starting to suck at the wrong time.

And seriously, How the hell do the Philadelphia Eagles tie the Bengals? WTF Sorry Eagles fan, I know that hurts.

Is Andy Ried gonna go job hunting with Romeo Crennel?

Speaking of BIG FAT ROMEO, the Brownies get another chance on National TV, against the Bills. I hope they can pull it off. I think Brady will do well again...It's the rest of the team that has me worried.

Now on to some Notre Dame Fighting Irish Hockey. The Irish swept a two game series this weekend against Lake Superior State.

Friday night the Irish won 4-3 in a shoot out.

The Goal scorers for Notre Dame were...Christiaan Minella, Ben Ryan, and Ryan Guentzel. In the shoot out, Billy Maday, and Calle Ridderwall scored to give the Irish the victory.

Goalie Jordan Pearce made 40 saves including 2 in the shoot out.

Saturday night the Irish beat Lake Superior again, this time 5-2.

The Notre Dame goal scorers were....Billy Maday, Eric Condra, Christaan Minella, Teddy Ruth, and Calle Ridderwall. Ridderwall also had two assists.

Pearce again got the victory between the pipes, making 20 saves.

That's all for now.

Depending on how the Browns do, we may have some Tuesday Moaning.

The BEEZE'S Sunday Morning Picks

Alright, I'm going to start posting my NFL picks each week. My predictions aren't technical...I haven't been breaking down film, and I'm not going to be giving all kinds of insight on why I'm picking who....It's all based on my gut feeling each Sunday Morning. Which after last night my gut is feeling a little rough.

So here we go.

Denver vs Atlanta....ATLANTA

Detroit vs Carolina....CAROLINA

Philly vs Cincy....PHILLY

New Orleans vs Kansas City....NEW ORLEANS

Baltimore vs New York Giants....NYG

Minnesota vs Tampa Bay....TAMPA BAY

Oakland vs Miami....MIAMI

I've Had Enough with the Signs Already

You may be thinking this blog is a little late to the party, but go with me on this.

I don't care that people put political signs in their yard. I've done it myself. This year we put a sign supporting a local school levy. (thankfully it passed)

What did I do the day after the election. I REMOVED IT FROM MY YARD. Is that so difficult?

The election is over. I don't care who or what you voted for, just take the sign out.
Do you have to show off that you picked the winner?

Way to go Johnny!!!

Or, are you so bothered by the outcome that you think by keeping you sign up, that people will change their minds and protest for a do over.?

Get over it Nancy!!! You lost. It won't be the last time.

Or, is the problem that you're just so freakin' lazy, that you can't be bothered with it?

Now you may be saying....'BEEZE, where's this coming from?'

I'll tell you where....Today alone I saw 16 Obama signs still in people's front yards. I saw 13 McCain signs. I also saw 11 Dennis Kucinich signs, (local) 8 Trakas signs,(local) and 7 Peter Lawson Jones signs(local).

I'm glad to see that so many people were politically active this year, but it's over.

Have a good weekend.

Thursday Night Thoughts

Well the BEEZE has started a new Blog. It won't be much different from my Sporting News Blog, but I may touch on a few other topics. Feel free to checkout my SN blog, and take a swing at the Hump Day Survey, just click the

So let's get on with Tonights thoughts. The other night I was watching a show on CMT. Now let me first state I'm not a country music fan....Some of it I don't mind, but I'm not a real fan. Anyway i put on this show "Crossroads". Def Leppard was on and any time I can relive my youth I will. They were performing with this young singer named Taylor Swift . Now the whole idea of the show is to put a country star and a pop, or rock group with each other, and they do one another's songs.

So I'm watching this and saying to myself, WOW!!!, this girl is good. Why is Joe Elliot even singing. Honestly, the boys in the band were good, but she was singing their songs a lot better than Joe. Here's a couple of examples........

This next one Joe is struggling.....

Now that I got that off my chest, here's a Notre Dame Fighting Irish Hockey update.

The Irish are home this weekend for two games against Lake Superior State. Notre Dame comes into this weekend with a 6-3 record after beating Boston College last Friday, and Providence on Saturday.

Senior left wing Garrett Regan was named CCHA player of the week after after his three goal effort out east last weekend.

On the other hand the NotreDame football team is sputtering after their second straight lose. Their trip to Boston College wasn't as fun as the Eagles defense shut the Irish down all night. Jimmy Clausen played his worst game since last season. I hope Charlie can right the ship against Navy this week. I don't want to see thia again......

Congrats go to Cliff Lee on winning the AL Cy Young. It was great to see Cliff come back from a terrible season, so bad he was sent to the minors. Then going into spring traing he was projected as the seventh started in camp. Way to prove them wrong Cliff.....I hope they don't trade you off too.

Finally, The passing of Herb Score brings back great memories. I didn't get to see him play, but from what I know he had a bright future until he was hit in the eye with a line drive. He was nevr the same after that.

My memories are of Herb as the Indians radio Play-by play voice. He wasn't the best, but he was ours and we loved him.

I'll never forget sitting on my front porch with my Dad, listening to Her calling Len Barker's perfect game. As it got further into the game neighbors, and even a couple guys walking down the street stopped and listened along with us. I remember afterwards asking our one neighbor "why were't you watching it on TV? "(ours was broken) He said, "I would rather hear Herb call history, than watch it."

Thanks Herb, Rest in Peace.

Take EAZY, the BEEZE.
