Monday Moaning

I want to start by saying that "Monday Moaning" will be featured each week at
http://www.yougabsports.com/ ....It's a great site, with great people there...If you like sports and a relaxed atmosphere, well then the GAB is for you...Plus they let me swear there....I'm very honored to have my blog featured there....

Now that the shameless plug is out of the way...This was the highlight of the New York Ranger's week...Tuesday night was great, until the game started....As always the Rangers did a great job with the ceremony....They even brought out the Sopranos...Graves favorite show....I don't care what you say when you see a guy who made his living being tough, break down and cry as his number is raised to the rafters...Well it's something special....

Later that night the boys in blue lost to the Thrashers in a shoot out...They looked like crap all night...Well except Markus Naslund, and Henrik Lundqvist...Lundqvist didn't look bad until the shoot out...Then on Friday the Rangers lost 10-2 in Dallas...WTF!

Next, we'll move on to the Pro-Bowl...F*ck the the Pro-Bowl...It's just like all the other "All-Star" games...It's crap...I don't watch any of them...I don't even know who won the stupid game...Whatever...

So what else is there? Spring training is just around the corner and I'm already getting sick of Baseball...This makes me sad, because I love baseball...

But the roids talk is already ragin' after it was leaked that A-Rod is also a cheating piece of sh!t....I'd love to punch that douche in the face....Not just because of the roids...But because of his gay ass frosted tips...Because he rolls with that cum dumpster Madonna....Because of those stupid ass Hamburger Helper Batting glove she wears...Because he's a Yankee....And he's not even a good Yankee...I hate all Yankees, but at least you could respect Mickey Mantle...Hell even Jeter isn't a total Douche...

(what a Douche!)

Now I'm not much of a Basketball fan...Kinda sad since I'm here in Cleveland where LeBron is kickin' ass....But I just don't give a sh!t...I've always been a Hockey guy...I can't do them both...
-
But as some of you know, I also write occasionally about my work and things that go on there...That blog is called "Tales From the Fish House"....Well this next bit can fall into that category...
-
I know a guy who is LeBron's personal chef....It sounds like a pretty good gig...Hell I'd take it...But it does have it's down side....Say it's 2:49 AM...This guys in bed laying the wood to his wife....LeBron calls....Him and his boys were just out, and they want some eggs, and bacon, and whatever else...Dude has to roll off his woman and get his ass there NOW!!!
-
LBJ wants eggs bitch!!!
-
Now he has also said that the topic of moving to another city has come up...and the King would move him and his family...That was a couple years back, but if I hear anything I'll let you know right away....Breaking News...This just in...LeBron's personal chef said he's outta here...F**k Cleveland B!tches'...that would be funny sh!t...
-
While I'm talking about athletes on a different level...My bosses also own a place near Jacob's Field....F**K You...I don't call it Progressive Field...It's Jacob's Field...
-
Any way...A few years back, when Trot Nixon was still a member of the Red Sox...Him along with Varitek were in this place...Buying drinks for a sh!t load of Sox fans that made the trip...They kept the place open after hours...It was a blast....Then the bills were paid, and the people left...Nixon and Varitek paid for everything....Nixon was awesome...Tipped people around 40%....People don't forget that stuff...That's why Indians fans embraced Trot so much when he was here....Great guy!

Now it's time for The Notre Dame Hockey update....The Irish were in Columbus for 2 games with Ohio State...

Friday night the Notre Dame pulled out a 4-3 overtime victory...The goal scorers were....Ian Cole, and Erik Condra (2)....Calle Ridderwall had the overtime game winner...Both of Condra's goals, and Ridderwall's game winner, were all scored on power plays....Goalie Jordan Pearce made 17 saves in the victory...

Sunday afternoon the Buckeyes upset the Irish, handing them a 4-1 loss...Christaan Minella was the lone Irish goal scorer...Pearce made 26 saves in the defeat....

That's it for now gang...Have a good week...

Later, The Beeze.

Adam Graves

Tuesday night in front of a packed house The New York Rangers will retire Adam Graves' #9 jersey....This seems like a no-brainer to me...But I did question it briefly....My father a Flyers fan...Asked me last week "does he deserve it?" I thought yes...Then I thought about the numbers...And then I thought about the man...There is no doubt in my mind now...
-
Graves was power forward on the ice...A grinder with skills...He fought whenever it was necessary...Not because he was your typical thumper, but because if his team needed him to drop the gloves he did...If you thought about taking a run at Brian Leetch, you were gonna pay for it...
-
Graves' stats are not anything amazing, but they are good....
-
In 1152 games played in his NHL career he put up 329 goals...287 assists...for 616 points...and 1224 penalty minutes....His career Playoff numbers are 125 games...38 goals...27 assists....for 65 points...with 119 penalty minutes...
-
In his ten years with the Rangers the numbers are...772 games....280 goals....227 assists....for 507 points....with 810 penalty minutes....In the playoffs with the Rangers graves played 83 games....28 goals....16 assists...for 44 points....with 70 penalty minutes...
-
In his 10 seasons with the Rangers, Graves became a fan favorite...Not just for his style of play, but for the man he was off the ice...From day one he jumped right into multiple community service programs...He was always giving back, and always made time for the fans....His generosity coming, at least party from his upbringing...Graves parents ran a foster home and also adopted Adam's younger brother....It was ingrained in him that we are all in this together, and he has always carried that with him....
-
There is so much respect for Graves in the hockey community, that after Adam had been dealt to San Jose, and the Rangers brought in Superstar Pavel Bure...Bure called Graves and asked if it was okay to wear his number 9...One report saying that Graves was shocked by the gesture, and told Bure 'go ahead, it's yours now.'
-
When Graves retired from hockey, the Rangers brought him back...He jumped right into charity work, and community outreach programs....He's now part of their scouting department, but if there is something going on in the community, or with the fans Adam will be there...He seems like that guy that will do anything for anyone....That was how Rangers fans felt when Graves and his family suffered the loss of a child....Rangers fans everywhere cried for him and his family and tried their best to give back to them in their time of need...
-
Adam Graves has always given his all...On or off the ice...He brought out the best in his teammates, and he brought out the best in everyone he has touched...He may not have been the flashiest player...And he may not have overwhelming numbers...But the New York Rangers, their fans, and the city of New York are better for having Adam Graves around....Sports needs more people like Graves, and more people like him should be recognized for what they do....There is no doubt in my mind that Adam Graves #9 deserves to be hanging in the rafters of Madison Square Garden.
-
The ceremony starts at 6:30PM...Check it out if you can...You'll be amazed at the ovation this man gets when he is introduced.

Later the Beeze.

Monday Moaning

(these pictures from the Associated Press)

So it's over, and I have to say I was surprised...Not by the outcome...I picked the Cards, but I thought the Steelers were the better team....What surprised me was just how freakin' good this game was....I haven't heard any talk yet about the stupid commercials...This was a great "Super Bowl" and I am truly shocked....

Just when I thought Larry Fitzgerald had wrapped up the "Super Bowl" MVP...Here comes Santonio Holmes ripping it right out of his hands...There was another surprise in this game...Holy sh!t there was a lot of stupid ass penalties...James Harrison had played a great game, but all of that could have been forgotten after his dumb ass Unnecessary roughness penalty...Luckily his team bailed him out...All that said it was a great game and the NFL has to be happy...Congrats to the Steelers, and their fans...As much as it hurts me to say that.

Moving on...If you're a new reader...I do that...I move on...Monday Moaning is me firing off on a few sports topics while mixing in some of my personal life...Like the dumb sh!t my son did this weekend...(don't worry I'll get to that)...I always end with some Notre Dame news, normally Football or Hockey...

Next up is My beloved New York Rangers....The boys in blue dropped their last 2 games...This week they tried to get tougher on the blueline, trading forward Dan Fritsche to the Wild for defensemen Eric Reitz....Fritsche known as a energy guy, and a solid two-way player was caught in a numbers game as the Rangers have too many forwards and were looking for a seventh defensemen...Hopefully Reitz will have more balls then Wade Redden, Dmitri Kalinin, and Michal Rozsival.

But the big story for the Rangers this week is Adam Graves Night...Tuesday night the Rangers will retire Graves' #9 jersey, joining fellow teammates from the 1994 Stanley Cup Champion Team...#2 Brian Leetch, #11 Mark Messier, and #35 Mike Richter....The other retired Rangers are #1 Eddie Giacomin, and #7 Rod Gilbert....

Look for special feature on Adam Graves Monday night/Tuesday morning.

So this weekend sucked...First Friday night little Beeze colored all over the house with marker....My chair...The walls....Carpet...more walls....the stove...More walls....He went nuts...Then he colored on my Strat....I was close people...Seriously I almost put his ass on EBAY....Hell it crossed my mind to start looking for spots to hide the body....But the Mrs. stepped in and calmed me...

After much cleaning we noticed the ceiling leaking ever so slightly....We had a serious build up of Ice on the roof....I spent Saturday on a ladder, in the cold, breaking Ice off the gutters, and the roof....I cleared the snow, and found the problem....Today I was back up there patching things up before our next blast from old man winter later this week...

My hands ached from swinging that hammer so much...I couldn't even beat my meat Saturday night...Mrs. Beeze was on duty thankfully...

So I come in the house today and find out that Dummy McDummy tried to flush some blocks down the sh!tter...I was ready to put his ass in there...So I got out the toilet snake....This I found is a must if you have kids...Well at least little boys...Do Military schools take 4 year olds?

Now it's my favorite part of Monday Moaning....NOTRE DAME HOCKEY...That's right people the #1 team in the country went into this weekend with a 20 game unbeaten streak, and a home-and-home series with rival Michigan....

Friday night the Wolverines ended the Fighting Irish's unbeaten streak as they handed Notre Dame 2-1 loss in Southbend...Ryan Guentzel was the lone goal scorer for the Irish....Goalie Jordan Pearce made 30 saves in the defeat...
-
Saturday night The Irish got there revenge as they traveled to Michigan and beat the Wolverines 3-2...Billy Maday, Ryan Thang, and Calle Ridderwall were the goal scorers for Notre Dame....Pearce made 36 saves in the victory...
-
Next weekend The Fighting Irish travel to Ohio State for two games....Friday nights game will be televised on the CBS College Sports Channel...(613 on DIRECTV)...You're welcome for the plug.

That's it...for now...Have a good week.
